The first part of this last volume is probably my least favorite part yet, don't like why they always gotta add these weirdly incesty relationships between siblings in some mangas... Luckily enough it didn't last too long and the ending being cute made me forget about it ever happening.
Wish mangas would start adding that kinda stuff in tho...

I wouldn’t say this achieves greatness in its final volume, but it definitely manages to get to a consistently above average level. And since this has been pretty fluffy for its entire run, it’s a welcome accomplishment.

Things are, in general, more fun now that Mari and Arisa are married. The series seems pretty reluctant to have any sort of climax until it reaches its climax, but it stays very true to itself for this last little bit.

Instead, it’s lots of teasing and accidentally driving one another crazy with a little asking for outlandish things in between. Arisa’s birthday request goes through a couple of funny permutations over several pages, including a potentially ill-advised shopping trip.

It’s a consistency of joke density that feels tighter than earlier volumes. They don’t all achieve this lofty success - one featuring an older guy who considers trying to make a pass at Mari sputters out almost immediately and keeps going anyway.

We also get Mari’s previously unmentioned sister, Azusa, who basically exists to trigger Arisa’s sudden siscon fetish and also to make jokes about said fetish. A little Azusa is a lot and her thirsty machinations feel a bit out of step with the rest of the volume.

One thing I wasn’t expecting was anything of actual emotional heft, but the section with a 90-year-old lesbian in the hospital is such a perfect blend of the series’ silly side with a really charming message and a welcome touch of gravitas. If the whole thing had been like this it would have been five stars and no notes.

In case you were waiting for the big sexy times moment, do not be overly excited. Explicit it is not, though it gets a little heat going. The joke about Arisa recovering very specific memories is nothing amazing though.

If you’ve been a fan, you will be delighted with this. I never felt this was anything more than okay, so I’m not going out of my way to say it’s essential yuri reading. Still, credit where it’s due, I don’t feel my time was wasted and this is the best volume hands down.

3.5 stars - I think this achieved what it set out to do, which is be silly and gay. In that respect, it’s a success. You can see the seeds of something really strong here and I almost wish it had a bit more time to develop them. Almost.

I found it interesting that Arisa didn’t get all of her memories back and instead this last volume treated the Arisa before she lost her memories like a separate person. I find it very sweet that despite the rough instance shown in this volume, Arisa was able to step up and support Mari in her own unique way. Despite how cute this series was and especially with how things ended, I wish they didn’t include Mari’s weird little sister.
