Her I never wanted to see him again. It's been years and I'm still not over him and I can never forget what he did. But, he says my life is in danger. I don't want to believe him but things keep happening to me and I know that it's true. He wants another chance. Not just to keep me safe, but to make me his. I'm not the same person I was back then. But, he doesn't seem to care. So, I let my guard down and I let him in. I only hope it isn't too late.
WARNING Forced sexual situations. If this is something that triggers you, please do not read this book. Intended for readers 18 and older. This book is highly radioactive due to the amount of “F-Bombs” these guys drop. Inside you will find violence, abuse, and an adult situation or two. So, slip on that hazmat suit and proceed with caution. HEALTH WARNING This book is packed full of alpha male deliciousness, insta-something, and enough over-sweetened romance that cavities are a real possibility. Keep your dentist on speed dial.
Carol Dawn was born in Maysville, Kentucky, USA, under the name Carolyn Jacobs. Carol is a stay-at-home mom where she spends her days making pb&j sandwiches, picking up toys, and giving her kids more cuddles than they want.
At the young age of five, Carol received a reading medallion for reading over twenty-one books in an eight-week period. So, her literary journey began. She wrote poems, songs, short stories and read many books.
Carol has a slight (MASSIVE) obsession with alpha male/insta-love romance books. If she isn't reading about them, she's writing about them.
When she isn't writing, reading or playing mom, you will find her watching re-runs of Stargate SG1, Startrek Voyager, cooking, coloring mandalas or performing her favorite songs for her invisible audience.
Wow!! wow!! wow!! carol has out done herself once again, this book was amazing and so heart breaking. If you do not know this is the 6th book in the infernal sons mc series and i have to say this series just gets better with each book. This book was everything i ever wanted and more the relationships that develop and the family dynamic is so amazing and perfect 😍 I’m so excited for the next book because i can not get enough of these motercycle men
H - old manwhore (no cheating in book) h - life of hardknocks. Half paralysed from the waist down, raped by MC enemy, kidnapped by beaten by the same MC enemy on top of dealing with his past conquests 🙄 Not my cup of tea - hate books that make the heroines full of bullshit or make them out as pathetic doormats. This was the forma.
I received this book as a ARC from the author Carol Dawn. I enjoyed revisiting the Infernal Son family. I don’t like to post any spoilers on these reviews but I do need to mention that this story has a lot of sexual violence and as a reader you should be aware of that going in. So with that in mind I clicked the spoiler button. Starting off I want to draw a connection that I see in all of the women in this series, they are survivors. Physical, mental, and sexual the women of this club have seen it, experienced it, and embraced the healing and surviving of it. The cursor on my phone blinks as I think what to write, this book was hard on me. I believe in honesty and I think I’m a little numb with this book as I identified with Rachel the main heroine. You see I survived my own assault at a young age. Moved forward only to contract cancer on top of an autoimmune disease that has left me mobility challenged. I’m blessed to only use a cane. Rachel is a strong, capable, completely mobility disabled woman and as a fictional character she makes sense. However, at the same time I find it hard for me to see her forgiving and connecting so quickly with ink. As a character I understand his motivations, but it was hard for me to believe his instant overcoming of his slut life ways. He talks very briefly on his upbringing and even less on his reasoning on why he “young” and free. I took a star off for this reason. I know these characters speak to the author and her stories are always clear to me. However, that being said I didn’t HEAR clearly from what made him change and why he deserved warrior Rachel. Love can be funny that way though, smoothing out the edges. Maybe it just got lost in my interpretation. It won’t stop me from enjoying more of her books or rereading the ones in this series. I think readers will find this series continues to be engaging and I recommend it often to others.

On the whole, I did enjoy this book. The overall story was well thought out and was exciting to read.
I did make contact with the author about a particular part of the book, which unfortunately felt wrong to me, and insensitive to the situations the female had been through; hence the 3* review.
I would still have no issues reading future books by this author.
My Journey with this Series and Author Ends Here...
I don’t have a problem with violence or dark themes of any kind, I have read, reviewed, and recommended books far more violent than Carol Dawn’s, Infernal Sons MC series books. If the events taking place are naturally employed and integral to the storyline and overall theme of the story world being portrayed it is more than reasonable to include even the darkest of material. Dawn is no exception to this, and I have, in my other six reviews of her work, always defended and found positive aspects of every book she has written, even when others did not. However, increasingly over the last four books, she seems to be ratcheting up the sexual and other physical violence toward the female characters within the series for no reason other than senseless glorification. She has also increased her use of offensive stereotyping, something I have referenced in several of my reviews of Dawn’s books, deploring her to not devolve to such gimmicky plot devices. Yet now here with “Ink’s Second Chance” I am saddened beyond belief to see not only has the above gotten worse, it is now at levels I can no longer endure.
This book left me stunned. I am honestly at a loss for words in regards to it, because after just completing another review mere days ago in which I wrote about how happy I was to see the improvements in Carol Dawn’s fifth book. A review where I wrote how I found that story to be a huge improvement both technically and emotionally, after two books in a row containing under researched, out of place plot devices and cheesy stereotypes. Then she releases this. A book with a level of gratuitous, offensive stereotyping and plot pandering so outrageous, it is an absolute literary jumping of the proverbial plot shark.
Where I once thought there was hope for growth; a new author feeling out her literary groove and learning with each passing book. I am now no longer confident she is interested in the care and growth of her characters and story world. Ink’s story showcases someone who, in my opinion, is topic trolling and cramming as many sensational plot devices as she can think of into a book without at all caring how incorrect or damaging the result is. The events that take place in this story are incomplete, often seem random, and are wholly unnecessary. There is no effort taken to offer or illustrate the secondary emotional care and thoughtfulness that need to be attached to the scenes of rape, corporal punishment and torture that are in this book. And after the effort she put into the patient, thoughtful attention given to Rose in book one, and Thea in book four, I find what she does in this book not only confusing, but callously lazy. It is an outrageously simplistic slant on a slew of heavy, heavy events. The seeming frivolity of which I cannot stomach. These characters deserved so much more, the readers deserve so much more. And after three books of ridiculous character depictions that are so far off base they border on offensive and just plain stupid I can endure no more.
Sadly, I cannot find it within me to go beyond this book, I am done, and my journey with this series and this author ends here.
Ink’s Second Chance Infernal Sons MC #6 by Carol Dawn was fantastic. Once I started the book I couldn't put it down. Ink was such a hoot. He loves all the ladies. His charm keeps him busy until he meets someone from his past that makes him take a long hard look at himself and what he has been missing. Rachel was such a strong woman even after her "accident". They meet again and as in all Carol Dawn books Insta love, well for Ink but Rachel will need little more convincing. She gave us some really emotional and gritty scenes. The storyline was so interesting and as always the dynamics between the "brothers" are too funny. Lots of good drama and a very HEA for the couple. Each book is better than the last! Kudos!
Wow is my first reaction. Ink and Rachel’s tale starts when they are young. He does something stupid and they are separated for years. You can tell these two belong together and know that no matter the obstacle they will be together. I will say there is a rough part but since I know this author will handle it so it won’t be too rough. This is another epic story in this series that I absolutely adore. I am already dying for the next book.
Ink and Rachel's story is one for the ages!! The man who wanted no ties and loves his endless stream of women has FINALLY met his match. Rachel is a very strong woman, but Ink did her wrong a long time ago and she hasn't forgotten. He has to work hard to win Rachel and in the mean time get rid of a past danger to the club. This was an action packed read and I really loved it. The Infernal Sons are great!!
Well this book was fantastic I couldn't put it down. I have read every book in this series. I really advise starting with the first book and reading the series in order. Each book is a complete story. But the characters from the previous books are am important part of every book. This story is about strength and forgiveness seccond chances personal growth. Sexy Alpha Bikers with a strong sense of family The women and men who love them there is just one more book after this one in the series and they will all be reread many times.
**ARC REVIEW** Having read all Carols Infernal Sons books thus far, INK’s one is hands down my favourite!! The second chance romance, the fact h isn’t your ‘usual’ book babe, being wheelchair bound made for a great difference. I found I hated Ink at first and learnt to forgive him alongside Rachel. Really do recommend it.
This was a much anticipated book, and definitely did not disappoint. It had all the feels. Loved it. It is a must read an one to add to your collection.
Awesome book. Ink really surprised me. He stepped up and took charge with Rachel. I was hoping Ink's woman would make him work for it to prove himself. I cried at the whipping, but I loved these two together. Awesome job Carol. You have kept this series so real.
If like me you have read and enjoyed the rest of the series then you have been looking forward to Ink's story and it was another well-written book but I have to admit there was something missing between these two as a couple for me the chemistry just was not there they were just missing that spark that we have had with the previous couples. Other than that I really liked it and cannot wait for wolf's book
This year I made a new years resolution to no longer DNF a book. In this case, I made myself read the entire series, both as part of a reading group that selected this series as books of the month, and because I thought perhaps after a slightly rough start the books would start to get better.
First, I will say I was hoping for a really good redemption/second chance romance with Ink. But it has turned into the same issue I have had with all the books by this author. Perhaps I just am not a fan of "insta-love" but I think it is more the way this author has chosen to write her version. In this story Ink is "reunited" with a girl from his past that he hurt but didn't even recognize, but later we are supposed to believe that he has been sleeping around because he missed her. There was way too much dynamic to this story with a paralyzed h who just barely glosses over her feelings and mostly just fills in with jokes about not being able to walk. Then she is raped, but is ready to have sex practically the next day, and then gets kidnapped again, held hostage, beaten, and then helps to bring down a human trafficking ring in the last, oh, 20% of the book.
I really wanted to enjoy this series because I in general love a good series where story is built on these characters and they become like friends to us, and we see them grow in each book. I didn't get that in this book. It is so bad that I couldn't even remember who was whose significant other. In each book, except Hawks books, there is this idea that man meets woman in trouble and decides he loves her and wants to marry her. I have no trouble in general with the H seeing the h and realizing she is it for him. But there is hardly any real storyline to their relationship. We never get to see the H and h together. In each book it feels like you read a chapter and then the next thing you know a month has gone by or 3 months and you as a reader are just supposed to accept that during that time they fell in love. I guess I read my romance books because I want to experience that relationship developing. I want to feel those emotions and I did not in hardly any of these books. The only few that I feel were more than 2 starts were Hawks book, and that was more because there was a hint of a relationship between him and Slim ahead of time, and then Bricks book because I felt like there was more development of the relationship between Jessa and Brick, though just barely.
I have read a lot of great reviews of this book so obviously this author has found a following of those that enjoy this type of book, but sadly I was more disappointed as I felt there was more potential in a lot of these books for further character development.

Absolutely ridiculous plot. The ‘baddies’ come across as weak, loads of mistakes and I really didn’t like Ink.
I’m really disappointed with Ink’s book. In all the other books he came across as funny, kind and sweet. In this he across as a d*ckhead who treats women disgustingly! Rachel and Ink/ Sammy met at school and he took her virginity then laughed at her with his friends. So when they meet eight years later, Rachel is now in a wheelchair after having a car accident, and is apparently still in love with him, 😂😂😂 The way that Ink talks about women and ‘their different flavours,’ actually made me gag!🤮🤮 In all the other books he seems like a really nice guy. In this one the author changes him into a total di**head!!! Until he all of a sudden realises that Rachel is loved of his life. Hmm I didn’t buy into their relationship at all.
The club has been receiving threats by unknown people, (They gave a huge clue on a note, who it was.) and go into a lockdown. The plot after this just gets really silly! And I’m angry that something so traumatic to a woman is written about in an almost flippant way! Yet again there’s no counselling for the woman, and she acts like she’s perfectly fine a couple of days later. 😡😡
The baddies come across as weak, don’t get me wrong, they’re still going evil things, but making stupid decisions.
It’s terribly written this book. Spelling mistakes, duplicate words, and wrong words used. Some sentences didn’t make any sense. The plot descends into total madness, and I had to force myself to finish it.
I read a review the other day that summed up this series really well, the first book is really good and it goes downhill from there.
***************SPOILERS AHEAD******************** Rachel is brutally raped by Roman Hernandez’s cousin, from the first book with Rose. The very next day she’s ‘getting wet’ looking at Ink!!! If you’re going to write about something so traumatic, please be respectful, and don’t write about it as though she had a little accident!!!😡😡😡 Roman Hernandez in the first book, has bought Rose as she’s been trained by her dad, and he likes hurting women, and she’s a virgin. In this book he wants Rachel as he loves her feistiness. Ay what??? He’s completely changed and is almost courteous to her, after he kidnaps her. Then his dad decides he’s obsessed with her too. It’s just nuts.
Rachel lost her heart to Sammy in high school. Sammy, being the typical teenage guy, boosted to his guy buddies when he took her virginity. Thoroughly breaking her heart, Rachel cuts Sammy out of her life for years.
Sammy, “Ink” of the Infernal Sons is the club’s manwhore, and is very proud of the title. That is until he meets his lost high school love. Sammy is shocked to learn Rachel is left paralyzed after an automobile accident. He tried for years to screw as many women as possible to forget her, but it was all in vain the minute he lays eyes on her.
An old ruthless enemy comes after the Sons again. To hurt Ink, the sadistic leader goes after Rachel. Regardless of the viscous rape and beatings, Rachel becomes a true warrior and saves children that are going to be sold. This is the best book in the Sons series. It’s on the darker side than the others. It covers several traumatic crimes against persons, and is a very emotional read. I ugly cried a few times, so be warned there may be some triggers in this book.
I’m happy to learn we haven’t heard the last of the Sons just yet. Ms. Dawn has listened to her readers and will be giving us Wolf’s story.

Ink and Rachel's tale was somewhat heartbreaking. I was so disappointed in teenage Ink I'm happy he's redeemed himself from who he was. This book is a bit heavier then the other Infernal Sons books but it was somehow fitting for the always joking around Ink to end up with a more serious story. People handle trauma differently and I enjoy reading about characters who just push past it as its similar to how I deal and it helps to read about others who do similar. There was still the lighthearted moments with the family and I while I'm anxious for Wolf to get his story I'm sad that the Infernal Sons are running out of members I'm not ready to even think about letting them go.
This book makes 0 sense. It's like the Sons of Anarchy writers got really hammered and watched porn and decided it wrote a book. Makes about as much sense as it sounds ...
Spoilers...
. . .
Ink is a duchess bag man whore. Rachel was a high-school sweetheart he humiliated who is now stuck in a wheelchair. I get that she is pretty and jerks like to break pretty things but the moment the head of the cartel decides the random cripple girl is going to be his queen? Like seriously. I literally only kept reading bc I hate stopping a book and still giving a review.
This was not worth my time. I was kind of excited at first, then proven wrong in 3 chapters.
Big trigger warnings, this one has very dark on page things happening. All of That wouldn’t have pushed down the star grade, but I dislike the easy out of calling someone not needed help recovering from rape and trauma „strong“ simply because it’s easier to push the book forward, it makes me cringe reading a character going all out in heavy sex scene right after she’s been raped.

What an EXCELLENT entry in the 'Infernal Sons MC' series this one is!
IMO (& I'm a RABID reader), the true joy of a book is when it takes you from your HERE to the writer's THERE seamlessly, effortlessly, totally. And this one penned by Ms. Dawn does exactly that. It certainly did for ME. The sixth book in her series, we've seen her characters (& writing) grow, we've come to love them (my personal fave is Trigger) & we WANT them to find their one, to be happy, to be safe. But despite the incredibly tight bond of their MC brotherhood (& sisterhood of their women) danger is never too far away & seems to always keep a baleful eye on our characters. BUT, every single one of the men & women of the Infernal Sons MC is bone deep loyal & fanatically intense about protecting their loved ones. So when the joker & Lothario of their club, Ink, reconnects with a now paraplegic Rachel years after their very brief time together in high school, he's shocked to discover he WANTS to cease his 'one & done' ways & be with her, forever. However, a powerful & heinous evil from the Club's past flares up & the flames of revenge engulf everyone . . . .
I GREATLY enjoyed this one & did not want to put it down or separate myself from the world Ms. Dawn created. I am so taken with the characters & their stories & Ink & Rachel's was no exception. I personally have found her writing has grown beautifully, the writing has acquired the depth, intensity & style that is that magical path that transports the reader AWAY. A beautifully emotional, wonderfully written story with interesting characters the reader CARES about as well as an intriguing & tense plot the keeps the reader on suspenseful romantic & danger ridden tenterhooks. Loooved it!
Holy wow. It was great seeing how Rachel made Ink work his way truly back into her life and heart, even though she never stopped loving him since there high school days. The Hernandez cartel members were at it again as far as wanting retribution for Rose getting away from Roman years ago, and the club went into lockdown, but sadly Rachel didn't think that she was in any danger until Roman, Antonio and Frankie broke into her apartment and was raped. It was truly sad for that to happen for anyone, but especially for Rachel since she's paralyzed from the waist down and has no use of her legs, then these evil bastards kidnapped her sister and beat her up and sent Rachel a text to come out of the compound alone, which she did and eventually she and Roman's dad Carlos killed Ramon by gas fire place leak. Then Carlos decided that she would one day be his queen because she has a sassy mouth and spunk, but he had Mike which is another evil bastard whip her back daily until she surrendered to him, but she is a true survivor and warrior and never gave in. Carlos's sister has endured the utter horrific things that this family has done to not only one another, but also with human trafficking of young boys and girls and she finally had enough and decided to be brave like Rachel. Yay for Ink getting his second chance with the girl that has always had his heart. Happy reading.
Ink is a man who likes to share his charm all over the place. The guys warned him it would catch up with him someday. He knew Rachael in high school and things ended badly. So when she comes into his tattoo shop, she doesn't want to give him a chance. Especially when it appears that he hasn't changed at all. Now that he realizes what a huge mistake it was in letting Rachal go, he is determined to win her heart. It has been several days since I finished Ink's Second Chance and I am still rolling it around in my head. The biggest thing that comes to mind for me is again how strong all of Carol Dawn's female lead characters are. Her alpha males are strong, alpha to be sure and all but their women are powerhouses compared to them. Rachal is insanely strong and it continues to serve her well. There is an event where Rachal's strength carries her through it. It might appear to some readers that her reaction to it wasn't realistic. There are many ways to deal with things and I found it to be totally in character for her to react the way she did. Ink is a loveable scoundrel. He wasn't my favorite character before but he redeemed himself quite nicely. Such a great read, highly, highly recommend!
I have absolutely loved this series, and this story just added to that! It was a difficult story to read due to the abuse and tragic situations, but I can honestly say that I am in awe of the heroine. She has strength beyond what most people can even imagine, especially after the tragedies she's been through. However, after reconnecting with a love she thought was lost, nothing else matters. It's certainly a story that everyone will want to read, and even though it may seem unrealistic, it would be great for other survivors as well. There was a bit of a mixup in the beginning of this story that had me confused for a while. When Rachal saw Ink for the first time, it stated that his name was Chains and that his sister was her bf. She only referred to him by his actual name after that, and it took me a while to figure out that it was actually Ink she was referring to. I just didn't want anyone else to have the confusion I had. Lol! I'm sure that everyone else would've figured it out. Overall, this was a fantastic story, and awesome addition to the series. I'm really looking forward to Wolf's book, and can't wait for it's release! I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.
I absolutely loved this latest book in the Infernal Sons MC series!!! Rachael and Ink have known each other since high school and she absolutely adored Ink but something happened and Rachael got her heart broke and never wanted to lay eyes on him ever again. Imagine her surprise years later when she goes into a tattoo shop and lays eyes on the owner....Ink. She never expected nor wanted to ever see Ink ever again but Ink has other ideas. Ink thinks that he doesn't want what the other brothers have and does his best to avoid commitment. Once he sees Rachael again, she makes him feel things that he swore that he never would but even Ink can't deny that Rachael is his one. He is determined to show her that he can be the man that she needs and deserves, he won't give up until Rachael is his forever. When danger comes to the MC, can Ink protect Rachael from all of the trouble lurking around the corner? Such a damn good story, lots of twists and turns and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading this story. I loved every stinkin minute of it and I can't wait for the next book in this amazing series. Well done!!!!
HOLY CROW!!!!! I think I’ve fallen in love with Sammy/Ink!!!! Was it so dark? Yes. Did I wish to witness Ink being faced with a few more women from his past? Absolutely! But, watching Ink and Rachel come together with so much passion and loyalty. I can’t get enough! I have to say I love the Men and Women of the Infernal Sons, and each book just gets better and better. Ink’s Second Chance was beautifully written. Rachel was so strong to over come the horror that happened to her. Some will say no woman would ever be that level headed after something like that. But I say this not every woman is the same. And YES it is possible to hold your head high and not allow it to take hold. Something deplorable happened. Yes. But Ea he’ll never allowed it to define her. And Ink never pushed and allowed Rachel to lead and trusted her to know her own mind and body. I look forward to Reading about Wolf!!!! Thank you so much Carol for your wonderful words. I love getting lost in your books! They have helped me in so many ways in over coming my own demons.

First things first; I really like the cover of this book! Ink’s second chance is the sixth book in the ‘’infernal sons MC’’ series. I devoured this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters loveable and the storyline enjoyable. Rachel once knew Ink as Sammy. She got her heart broken by him in high school, way before she ended up in a wheelchair. Ink is a ladies man that has no plans to settle down. When Rachel re enters his life he tries to resist but he soon finds himself fighting for a second chance with her. The chemistry between Ink and Rachel is clear to see and I liked them together. I liked the build up to Rachel giving Ink a second chance. I loved how selfless and strong Rachel was. I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.
This may be my favorite of all the books in this series. A lot of this series has been instalove so having this be a change of pace was nice -- this book is a second chance romance so of course there's a lot of push and pull (Ink definitely has some making up to do for his past indiscretions). I think a big reason this is one of my favorites of Carol's has a lot to do with how strong of a character Rachel is and she will not tolerate all of Ink's nonsense. That's the kind of woman that Ink needs though because he is always in to something and needed someone that would ground him a little. Overall a nice addition to the series that's a pretty quick read.
Trigger warning: There is a part of the book that the h gets raped, the way it's written isn't graphic but just be warned if that is a trigger.
With every book in this series I look forward to the funny one liners and banter between the men in the Sons MC . Every character never disappoints and like always I find my self laughing out loud at their antics. Ink had me giggling a few times especially when it came to Rachel's sister. This book was definitely darker then it's predecessors and I found myself on multiple occasions holding my breath. I loved Rachel's sass she was not afraid to speak her mind and have as good as she got and certainly kept Ink on his toes and in line which was hilarious to see. I look forward to Wolf's book next he is one mysterious character I'd like to know more of.
The drama is very good in this book, but Rachel was a bit too much. I did not like these two together. They had no chemistry what so ever. Was really looking forward to Ink's book. They should have been strangers instead. He didn't even recognize her, they sort of grew up together. He sees her at his tattoo shop and doesn't remember her, then not even 3 days later he loves her and she him even after he did her wrong in high school. Stupid. This author is alot like ciera st james and I don't care for her either. Every book is almost the same. Instant loves, moves her in and gets her pregnant, kink.
There was so much to unpack with this book. So much emotion and feels. I couldn’t stop reading and also crying. It was really hard to get through but at the same time easy to devour. Ink has been that character you always remember. That one you want to get more information on and see more of. His personality was always so large. I think he lived up to the expectations hype but Rachel is a character that you root for with everything you are. The strength she has is overwhelming. I absolutely adore her! The path this booked led her down was so rough but the growth and the strength was just astounding. I would read this again just for her character
