Blind Side is part of Kristen Proby’s With Me in Seattle Universe.

Life is full of surprises...

The minute running back Draven Jameson sees the stunning, raven-haired beauty in the stands during fan appreciation day, he immediately knows that he needs her in his life. Despite having to battle for his starting spot with his new team in Seattle, and memories of the hardships he endured before entering the league fresh in his mind, things couldn’t be better. Draven can see further into the future than he ever has before—not only with his career but also with his life.

Presley Bantam didn’t mean to mislead the handsome recruit. The way he asked her out swept her off her feet, and things were just too good. Besides, her secret shouldn’t affect him…until it does. Forced to make one of the hardest decisions of her life, Presley chooses her career over her man, hoping she can make it up to him later. But Draven has other ideas.

When the betrayal takes things in a dangerous direction, with lives suddenly hanging in the balance, only truth can save them. Forgiveness is the only thing that can set them free. But will it be enough?

I really liked this one. The chemistry between Draven and his Raven was off the charts. Lots of sweet, plenty of sexy and a smidgen of deceit. I do feel that Presley should have been more honest with Draven, but they overcame it and went on to win at love.

"You are the brightest light in my life, my little raven."

Blind Side should have worked for me as I typically love reading football romances but it turned out to be quite disappointing. The story itself had so much potential though. Running back Draven spotted Presley in the stands on fan appreciation day and instantly knew he wanted to meet her. What began as a first date quickly morphed into a steamy yet heartfelt relationship.

I did like some aspects of the story. I could feel Draven's love for Presley as well as his feelings about the events in his fractured past. He had overcome so much adversity and came out a better man on the other side. The book addressed issues of trust and secrets and, ultimately, forgiveness, all of which added an interesting complexity to their relationship. I also need to mention I appreciated not finding spelling and grammatical errors which often run rampant in similar books.

Other issues, however, overshadowed the good in this book. Presley's feelings for Draven seemed less convincing to me and her self analytical thoughts were exhausting. The conversation on their first dinner date felt stilted and bored me, so much so that I considered making this a DNF multiple times. The technicalities of football presented were sometimes too much to comprehend for the novice. Several extra characters were mentioned throughout, many of which seemed unnecessary to the story, so perhaps this was to link to other books in the series. The entire story was also incredibly rushed, even more so than most novellas of this length. Angst was low and forgiveness came way too easily. And I didn't care for the ending, which often has the power to make or break a book, except for the absolute final reveal.

** Special thanks to Goodreads and the author and publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. **

This story didn't totally work for me because I saw the heroine as dishonest. Draven is a football player sees a pretty lady in the audience during a game and sends her a note with his phone number. A total player move but it worked out for him as he gets a call from Presley. They psychoanalyze each other rather a lot for a first date, and hook up for a while. Then it blows up because of a big coincidence that she was trying to keep a secret from him for far too long for no good reason. She has lots of rationalizations why she didn't tell him but it all felt like excuses to me, she could and should have told him. Lies of omission are still lies, and professionally, she should probably recuse herself from handling cases she has a personal stake in. Draven learns to trust her again but I wasn't sure he should have.
Series status: This story stands alone but apparently it's book 2 in a series and you can tell because there was some character name dropping that seemed rather irrelevant because we don't actually meet them in this book. Recommended for those who want something they can finish quickly. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

SWEET MEET CUTE!

A quick sweet read about a broken football player Jameson Draven who sees his dream woman- luscious. curvy raven haired Presley Bantam in the stands and sends her a note....... how sweet!

They go on a date all nervous and jittery as both have trust issues but it went swimmingly and that was where their love story began.......

Draven was positive Presley is his dream woman as they can talk for ever and just feel comfortable in each others company and not to mention the chemistry between them is off the charts!

Presley feels the same but is still wary where players are concerned regarding her profession as she was burned before so keeps the most important information regarding her profession from Draven.......

Until the worst thing ever that can happen to a player sends them into a spiral of emotions and upheaval regarding trust and forgiveness regarding their relationship and Draven's career!

Will Draven ever forgive his little raven for her mistake?
Will Presley stand by her man and gain his forgiveness?

A sweet meet cute that leads to so much more!

Blind Side is the second book in Rayvn Salvador’s Fourth and Goal series but it can be read as a standalone. There are some references to characters from book one, and I think it’s a great book, but you don’t have to read it before this one if you don’t want to.

This is another short novella – just like book one – so I don’t judge it by the same standards as a would a full novel because there just isn’t time to go into depth about the characters. But I love this length of story and I think the author did a great job of telling us the important things about each character. Draven and Presley took an instant attraction and developed it into something more meaningful.

The author left us a huge hint early on in the story so the critical conflict wasn’t a surprise but just because the story was a bit predictable doesn’t mean it’s not a good one. I really enjoyed reading this book and I liked how everything was resolved for Draven and Presley. The epilogue was a very nice touch.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. This book is a short read but don't be fooled because this author packed a lot into this series. Draven is in Seattle working out with his team and would like to get a permanent position. Presley catches Draven's eye and Draven and sends an equipment assistant to deliver a note to Presley in the bleachers. Presley and Draven hit it off but Presley has been holding back in telling Draven where she actually works. Draven is all about been honest. Draven's and Presley's relationship is put to the test when Presley finally tells him where she works. But it is to late because Draven has to meet in front of the disciplinary board. This is a short and fast read that had me cheering for Draven and Presley. This is book #2 of the "Fourth and Goal# series. Enjoy!

At around 65 pages, this short novella packs in heck of a lot.

Included in this novella is:
— a very unique meet-cute,
— a super sexy football player with a tragic and emotional past,
— two main characters with trust issues that when certain details are left unsaid come back to bite, and
— a tightly constructed story that is fun, compelling and so enjoyable!

I would love to read an extended version of this novella and an extended version of the previous book. So much additional story could be shared between the events that occur on the pages of this read. The author definitely has a talent for writing compelling story based around great characters - so talented I’m left wanting more, so much more!

A story romance set against a sports background. Draven is a QB, working hard to get and keep his place on the team but sees Presley in the stands and is smitten. A note is written and delivered asking for a date. Presley is some years older, but the date leads to more and better. Two people from different backgrounds enjoying their relationship.
It was predictable that the highs were not going to last and it was obvious as to the drama unfolding. Presley failed to tell Draven where she works and disaster strikes, his trust in her feels like betrayal. Both come out of the situation badly hurt, but it does end well.
Nicely written and presented, well drawn and enjoyable short story.

Blind Side is a well written sports romance with a bit of teammate rivalry, hot and heavy passion, and drama when information is glossed over.

Draven has just been traded to Seattle, but his position was not guaranteed. This meant that he had to work to stay on the team. Presley worked in the front office of the team and handle only if the players got in trouble. When Draven saw Presley at an event, he was taken back by her. Presley hesitated to take a chance with Draven due to her past relationships.

I love the twist this fast and passionate story has when Draven is let go for drug use and it is with the chance help of Presley's brother that leads the way to clear his name.

Draven is a football player recently traded to Seattle. During one of the team’s preseason practices he sees a beautiful woman sitting in the stands. He sends her a note asking her to call him. Presley can’t believe Draven would be interested in her but she eventually does call back. When they go out they hit it off and quickly become serious. Their new relationship is shaken to its foundation when a catastrophe strikes. Both characters have to grow a bit and overcome past hurts to make their way back to each other. The book ends in a super sweet HEA. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes contemporary romance.

I listened to the audiobook. Narrator Skye Alley give a great performance.

Novella length.
Good characters and storyline.
Draven and Krew are competing for the top back position.
Presley is a little older and comes from old money. She has been burned before when she dated a football player in the past.
Draven tells her he has trust issues especially with women. Presley is keeping a big secret from him.
It’s no wonder that when Draven finds out her secret that he feels Blindsided!
*Adult language and there is sex but not descriptive.

Draven's past is so sad, yet he's managed to get his act together and make something of himself. Presley comes from money, but she's had issues with her parents' control and indifference. He doesn't care that she's older. They have an unbelievable amount of chemistry, and I like them together. The one thing I didn't like - her lie of omission about her job, which comes back to bite her in the butt. Love the junior high note that he sent to her via one of the equipment guys. This was my first story by Rayvn Salvador. I'm sure will I try another one but this one was just not for me. Naturally, I love sports romances. However, the reason I chose to read this was because it's part of Kristen Proby's With Me in Seattle Universe. I love that series so I figured there was no way to go wrong. This story had so much potential. I don't want to give too much away. Presley did not seem as real as Draven. Add in how rushed the story felt. Maybe this one just needs another look. Really I'm sorry I didn't enjoy but what may not be my cup of tea could be someone else's.

Short but sweet

I’ve read the Seattle series so it was fun to see some of their characters pop up. Draven and Presley have a nice meet/cute and they fall fast and furious. Maybe too fast. Never could quite figure out why she withheld information from him, but it helps the story develop.

For a quick read, it was enjoyable and I think this author shows potential for longer, more developed stories. This was my first book by her, and I’d be willing to read another from her.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Draven fell for Presley as soon as he saw her and when she contacts him, the feelings are returned. Due to not all being told to each other and a false positive, they separate for awhile. But Presley still believed in Draven and when given a chance, proves it. I liked the role reversal between this couple.

This had potential to be good with Dravens latter start as a rookie making it different from others in the genre. It just fell a bit short for me with the rushed ending. Presleys omission about her job annoyed me. .

This was a quick read about football player Draven who was traded to Seattle and Presley who works for the organization. I enjoyed how Draven got his first date with Presley and their connection was hot. However, Presley has secrets that nearly cost Draven his job and their relationship. The hea was sweet.

Draven is a late to football player with trust issues and Presley works for the football franchise and has her own trust issues. They fall for each other pretty quickly but Presley’s secret may blow up their romance. I enjoyed this story and always love when stories visit Baltimore! Great ending!

This is the second book of the series I read. Since the first was a bust I wasn’t expecting much. This novella was a nice surprise. A quick read with likable characters, realistic dialogue and a unique plot twist. A lovely HEA.

Great book

This is my second book by this author and I love how well she can write a novella and stick to the sports theme so well. I love her strong female heroines, how well they know the sport. I loved Draven and despite the quick wrap up at the end, it was very well done

Just an okay read that had loads of potential to be really good instead of mediocre. Liked male lead but female was insipid and immature.
