If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it might be a bird of prey… An unassuming man coerces his way onto the island with AJ's involuntary assistance. Could he be as harmless as he seems, or capable of something far more sinister?
When AJ encounters a stranger on a suspicious boat after her morning dives, she finds herself caught in a bizarre game of cat and mouse while she leads an unlikely villain all over the island.
Book seven in the series thrusts AJ into a knife edge predicament where the wrong move will cost her the life of a loved one.
A USA Today bestselling author, Nicholas Harvey's life has been anything but ordinary. Race car driver, motorsports professional, adventure traveller, divemaster, and since 2020, a full-time novelist. Raised in England, Nick has dual UK and US citizenship and now lives nomadically wherever he and his amazing wife, Cheryl, choose to land for a few months. He is the author of the Nora Sommer Suspense, Kat Cromwell Mystery, and AJ Bailey Adventure series, as well as multiple collaborations.
Love what Harvey did with this one! He keeps us guessing with every release what direction he's going to take. Kudos on a refreshing switch-up with this one while still in keeping true to the A.J. Bailey Adventure series and style.
While we spend more time top-side in Valley of the Rays, it certainly doesn't lack adventure, suspense or twists. It's great to see even more of A.J.'s personality and humor come through in banter as she faced her foes with full voice instead of the typical thought narrative we've experienced while below the water's surface.
Harvey does a great job keeping it fresh in this installment of the series and leaves lots of room for more yet to be revealed for A.J., which in my opinion is no small feat.
Enjoyed immensely! Great diving adventure, accurate to the Cayman experience regarding diving, and boating. A very believable scenario Harvey delivered with another great read to the series.
I knew it!!! I guessed what was going on and held onto that through the entire book. Still, it was an exciting story, kept me on the edge of my seat. The author is very creative with his storyline and his characters are memorable. I just wanna go down to the Cayman Islands and go diving with AJ!
I’ve read all of the AJ Bailey series up to this one. The writing has gotten better and better. I didn’t see it coming until the last few pages but, I really liked the ending of this one.
I like spending time with AJ. Always enjoyable, never contrived, the stories just flow. Love the mix of past events, sometimes recent, sometimes long past, affecting the way the story plays out. Always fascinating, never disappointing.
Another good AJ Bailey adventure. Worth the read. Grand Cayman Island is a great backdrop for this series. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
