In the distant land of Enara, the religious zealot Lord Malenek marches across the continent of Amaros, cleansing the world with his army of Vengeance Spirits. Standing in his way is an unlikely adversary, Kamina Elloeth, a young tree elf who is inadvertently entangled in Malenek’s plans. She embarks on a quest with her ghostly brother and a mysterious Ishkava Ranger to find an ancient artifact that may be the only way to stop Malenek’s destructive schemes. Facing her fears, Kamina will travel over oceans and deserts, fight through swamps and jungles, and battle with legendary monsters to unearth the power hidden within the Stone of Spirits.
Born in the Scottish town of Renfrew, Andrew had a love of films and fantasy novels from an early age. That passion paved the way to a future in filmmaking and writing, having made various short films, including an adaptation of Jonathan Lethem's short story, 'The Collector.'
In 2011 he took a year out to fulfill a lifelong ambition of travelling the world, sharing his adventures in his book of collected blog entries, 'My Right Leg Is Tastier Than My Left.'
His first fantasy novel, 'Spirits of Vengeance: The Stone of Spirits' will be released in 2014.
Join a ranger, an elf, and a spirit as they try to save a world from a mad man. This is a fast-paced adventure. The plot is unexpected. The characters are very well developed. An all around exciting and interesting read that goes on my to be recommended pile.
This book was a brilliant fantasy novel and I am so glad I am a part of the book tour! I can’t wait to start the second book already!
First off, if you love book maps, you will not be disappointed. This has intricately drawn maps throughout! Each time a new section is explored or travelled to, you get a new map so you understand the surroundings and where the characters are journeying to. I just wish the maps were bigger!
The world building in this book is incredible. This is a unique fantasy world that you can’t help but get sucked into and the magic system is just excellent. I hope we learn more about this elemental magic in the next book. The history that has been created about Amarosian, Zalestian and Elven cultures was remarkable and interesting to read. The way the Amarosian and Zalestian magic systems and beliefs are interwoven, similar to the many belief systems of the world added this ‘real’ layer to the story.
You enter straight into the action from the very beginning of the story, which establishes the fast pace that continues throughout the rest of the book. The story is absolutely fascinating. The ‘villain’ of the story is not completely malicious or evil. He truly believes his horrific acts are essential for this higher cause. His belief is ultimately his downfall, and this understanding and development of the story uncovers more of this higher cause; a better world.
The battles, the travels, the adventures and the twists meld together to create a fantasy novel that I would recommend to every fantasy lover. This book is perfect for fans of Tolkien, with characters such as elves, dragons, spirits, rangers and mages. I cannot wait to see how Kamina’s journey continues on in the next book.
Thank you to Love Books Tours and Andrew John Rainnie for allowing me to be a part of this tour.
First of all, thank-you to the author, Andrew John Rainnie for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review.
This Epic Fantasy takes place in a world known as Enara. A world full of many mystical creatures we know and love, as well as several new adaptations of fantastical beasts. The people pray to Elemental Gods, and the Amarosians and Zalestians are at war. One man, Balen Malanek has decided that the war has gone on too long and that the people of Enara are beyond hope. To cleanse the world, he marches with his army of spirits. Two young elves: Kaedin and Kamina, and an Ishkava Ranger: Callaghan, must venture forth to save the world and defeat Malanek and his spirits of vengeance.
The world-building in this book is excellent. For the author's first Epic Fantasy book, this is really something special. The diverse cultures represented within the book are vast and I was impressed with the scope of history that went into the Amarosian, Zalestian, and Elvish cultures especially.
I really enjoyed the main characters, even though I was questioning the elvish-ness of Kamina due to her seemingly klutzy nature... but in all seriousness, she was a lovely character and her relationship with Kaedin and Callaghan came off as very sweet, and special. Callaghan was a very strong character, always sacrificing himself for the safety of others. A true hero!
Where it lost me a little bit was in the middle of the book, it has a bit of "everything but the kitchen sink" syndrome (I say this with no offense meant). I was overwhelmed by the nonstop action for so many pages. This book would do well with more slow down, that way the action sequences/adventures would stand out more for the reader.
Going along with this, I found that it read like a script for a TV series (one I would absolutely watch) due to how much action was packed into the book. As well, at times I found the dialogue to be quite clunky due to the way the character voices were portrayed. For example, many characters didn’t use contractions (couldn't = could not, can't = cannot) I found this awkward to read so much of. As well as Jazintha's character pluralizing words to demonstrate her thick Zalestian accent. These are things that would work very well if this was a TV show or movie, but as words on pages, I found them hard to read sometimes.
All in all, this was ultimately a book I enjoyed reading. The author is a talented Fantasy writer and I'm looking forward to reading the second book: Spirits of Vengeance: The Assassin of Araneque in due time. Please go check out his work and give him a follow on his Instagram page (@andrewrainnie) to keep up with future works.
I want to preface this review by saying that fantasy is not a genre that I automatically gravitate toward to. Yes, I have read the genre but it's not something I reach for and have realized that I have to be in a specific mood for.
With that being said, this is an excellent book. It is exceptionally well written and meticulously thought out. It is extremely detailed in regards to characterizations and its world building. I found myself meeting a myriad of characters and locations I easily found myself absorbed by. The book reminds me of a cross between Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. By the end of the book you will understand my Star Wars reference.
I have to be honest and say that without question, this is one of the longest books I have ever read. The other being 1Q84 which is much longer. Even though Stones of Spirits is long you don't feel like it is. The plot moves very quickly. You travel from lands with pyramids and sand kingdoms to ships that are navigated from the sea and the air. You meet a bevy of colorful people from men made of stone to centaurs, cyclopes demi gods. Along the way, our main characters get themselves in all kinds of missions and frankly, with all the action they were getting themselves into, this had enough adventure for at least three books.
So you might be asking yourself, why not give 5 stars? Why 4? Well you see, as much as I liked and enjoyed this book, I felt overwhelmed. Even with how well Rainnie wrote, there was so much going on and so many characters that I would forget who they were when introduced early on in the novel and then brought up again later on. I feel like your hard core fantasy fan would have no problems with this, but for the casual reader like myself, it could be a bit much.
However, as I mentioned earlier it is an exceptionally well written book and you will easily fall in love with Kamina, Kaedin and Callaghan. They are quite the trifecta. So if you like fantasy I highly recommend this. I don't think that you will be disappointed.
I like to do a complete spoiler free review. This book was a fantastic well written dip into a fantasy world. The characters were so well developed, that even though it was completely fantasized world, I was engulfed in the story from the very first chapter. I was spell bound how easy it was for me to get lost in this complicated and fascinating story.
Callaghan was hands down my favorite character and really made this book so great. I enjoyed watching him bring these two worlds together. Andrew John Rainnie, made is so easy to slip into and get lost in the remarkable fantasy world.
This book even thought it was quite a long book, read easily and went quickly. This world that was created was so fascinating, I could not read or flip pages fast enough.
In the words of Jane Austen.. " If a book is well written I always find it to short." This book was a prime example of this.
This book was amazing, entertaining, I could not wait to flip each page to see what the story held for each character. I was lost in this Story with fascinating characters. I'm sad it is over and can not wait for more.
So I've had to sit and really think about this book (and have a book come down from it) hence a later than normal review!
But holy flippin' crow!!!!!! What an absolutely EPIC book. I'm not going to lie, when I first received the book, I was worried I wasn't going to like this as it didn't sound very fantasy like for me. Oh how wrong I was!! I read one paragraph and I knew this book would dive me into a world of magic, betrayal, a battle of a huge war and also love, kindness, appreciation. This amazing plot and characters, captivated and spellbounded me. I wanted to devour this book, but at the same time not to as I did want it to end. I'm saddened it's ended, I want more but luckily I have book 2 to read. Which I'll be doing right away! I can be here for days on why I love this book. So I'll briefly say my points and may have to do a booktube of my full thoughts. This book needs to raved about and in everyone's tbr to read! I loved the world building: Enara, Amaros, Zalestisa, Calispo all of these places are beautifully captivating. The maps in this book really helped me imagine the places so much better. The characters, albeit a good amount of them, were believable, kind, strong, warriors, fighters, mysterious and each of them sounded gorgeous. My favourites are Kamina and Kaedin two tree elves and Ishaka Elite Ranger Callaghan Tor. I loved that all three of them bonded in such a beautiful and heartwarming way. Like a father to him. I was absolutely distraught and heartbroken when Kaedin got attacked and became a vengeance spirit. I'm just glad he was attached to Kamina. Even though he was a spirit, their sibling bond was never pulled apart. They were bond as one in so many ways and I absolutely LOVED that! Callaghan sounds absolutely mesmerising and honestly I fell in love with him. He was inferior, but still kind and caring. He was a ranger but fighting and death wasn't his focus. He wanted to bring good and peace to there world and I so needed a character just like him.
I also really liked how he was with Kaedin and Kamina, he was a friend, a mentor, a companion and family. Then Kamina who had no plans to join the rangers quest, but as she was bound to Kaedin due to his spirit she had to join the quest of saving the world. I loved how as you progressed in the story, you saw her character grow. A tree elf, to a ranger. She was the saviour of the world, even when she had no idea how. I loved her journey in the plot. She was none for speed and wit. Then became a dab hand in using a sword. To then commanding not one but TWO ancient artifacts. She witnessed so much loss, so much pain and she carried on. She fought with so much fight, so much passion, but never losing who she is as a person. She gave Bryce from Crescent City a run for her money in my eyes! Then to the plot. A battle to cleanse the world by a religious zealot, Lord Malenek, who made an army of Vengeance Spirits to do what he thought would save the lands, from greed, hatred, feuds and money. Even with the priest being a bad guy in this story, Rainnie manages to make you as a reader, feel for the character and see that he was only trying to save the world from mans greed and prevail. Not in the best way but he thought it with goodness. Then we have the magic, the fantasty elements. You have tree elves, spirits, big massive stone giant ogres, huge lizards, sand snakes, sand ghosts, a fricken cyclopse wizard mage and a huge DRAGON!!!! It wasn't your typical fantasy choice of beings, no Rainnie went absolutely extra in all of that and I blooming loved it! Honestly this book was beautifully done. The writing throughout is captivating, it's pace is steady where you want to devour it but saviour every last word. I felt every emotion, like I was the characters themselves. I was in the most magnificent, magical world in my head, that I never want to forget. I have never read either authors, but definitely had Tolkein and Pullmans influences, which makes me want to read them now, should it be anything like this book. I bid you all, to read this book! It's the most epic journey you could ever encounter and I loved and enjoyed every minute of this book. I really think all fantasy lovers out there will devour this book, so go and read it! I am now off to recuperate from such a powerful story and then dive right into book two!

Firstly, I wish to say thank you to the author, Andrew Rainnie for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Initially, I thought that the pacing was pretty decent, however, as the book progressed through the first third, I found myself getting a bit bored and finding it difficult to connect with the story and the characters. I'm not really a fan of travelling stories and this was what the majority of the first third of this book felt like. As I proceeded past the first third, however, the pacing started to pick up, the plot improved and I started to feel like I could really enjoy the book.
The characters were interesting, but for a long time, it felt like there was little development. Callaghan was exactly what he appeared to be; a loyal, noble, warrior, who only worked towards the greater good and was prepared to put his life on the line for what was right. Kamina and Kaedin were a great sibling pair, but again, they were very much what they appeared to be; Kamina, a young, rather emotional and scared child and Kaedin, a selfish, adventure seeking adolescent. I'm pleased to say, as the book progressed, we saw different sides to all of these characters and saw massive character development in Kamina, particularly. We also got to find out elements of their pasts, which made the book a lot more interesting. New characters were also introduced and in some instances (for example, Jazintha) were extremely likeable and entertaining.
I found the dialogue to be really good (potentially because this book started life as a screen play) and I found myself in certain parts, thinking that I could happily read an entire book full of dialogue. There were, however, other elements of the writing style that didn't appeal to me as much. I noticed that Andrew uses a lot of short, choppy sentences, which for me, is quite jarring. I prefer sentences to flow quite smoothly when reading a book and there were times reading this, when I felt that two or three short sentences could have been put together to create one or two longer sentences that, in my opinion would have read a lot better. Another element of the writing style that I felt was slightly lacking was the amount of description. This could be due again, to the book starting life as a screen play, but I felt that the description in the narrative could have been improved. For example, there is a scene near the beginning of the book where a character jumps out of a window and across a ravine. They are described as climbing up the ravine to the top, but I wanted to know, did they scrape their hands as they climbed? Were the muscles in their back and shoulders bunching and straining with the effort of hauling themselves up? Was there sweat running off their forehead? When they reached the top, did they briefly collapse with exhaustion? I'm a reader who requires a decent amount of description to visualise what I am reading and I felt this book could have used more description in places.
The storyline and premise of the book was really good and something I have not come across before. It had a kind of Dungeons and Dragons or Lord of the Rings feel to it and it was very refreshing, as that is not the kind of plot that we get a lot of these days.
The ending was interesting and led onto the next book nicely, but I did feel that the final conflict and the return home felt a tad rushed and as a result there were a few more grammatical errors in the last few chapters than there had been throughout the entirety of the rest of the book.
This was a good book for me and one I would recommend if you like high fantasy, but it took quite a while for me to connect with it.
SYNOPSIS: The first book in the Spirits of Vengeance series, Spirits of Vengeance - The Stone of Spirits, takes place in the distant land of Enara. A religious zealot named Lord Malenek marches across the continent of Amaros, cleansing the world with his army of vengeance spirits.
Standing in his way is an unlikely adversary - Kamina Elloeth, a young tree elf who inadvertently becomes entangled in Malenek's plans. She embarks on a quest with her ghostly brother and a mysterious Ishkava Ranger to find an ancient artifact, one which may hold the key to saving the world.
Facing her fears, Kamina will journey across oceans and deserts and do battle with legendary creatures to unearth the power hidden within the Stone of Spirits.
REVIEW:- on starting this book I was immediately drawn into a world of elves, rangers, men and centaurs and could not put it down. The book was exceptionally well written and highly descriptive and the maps within the book helped envisage each new location as it entered the story and how they related to the others. Whilst you are immediately drawn into the story the backstory of the characters is not forgotten but well described helping the characters to be more relatable and likeable. I couldn’t help feel a slight empathy for the “villain” of the piece as he truly did believe he was acting for the greater good.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone, especially lovers of fantasy novels such as those of Pratchett or Tolkien. I got so involved with the story I picked up the second book straight away!!
For the fans of Lord of the Rings and The Shannara Chronicles I found your next read and it’s called Spirits of Vengeance!
I missed so much reading such a complex story with amazing characters. I love the author’s writing style and that you can see what’s in every character’s mind. Every person has his own interesting personality that makes you curious about their story.
I love the idea of Spirits of vengeance. It reminds me of the Army of the Dead from LOTR. I could even see this book as a movie or a TV show! (please make it) I don’t know why, maybe because of Shannara, but Callaghan is my favourite character and i can see Manu Bennett as the perfect actor for this role.
All in all, Spirits of Vengeance won my heart and I think every fantasy fan should read this book. I mean it has everything you want from an adventure story.
Thank you so much Andrew John Rainnie and Love Books Tours for this amazing opportunity!
OH what did I love this first book in a new epic fantasy series !
First, if you know me, it is obvious you know I love to read fantasy, but I always thought epic fantasy was not so my thing.
By reading this engrossing and mesmerizing fast-paced adventure I discovered I really like this story with fascinating storylines and complex characters.
I was blown away by the world building and the fact even the bad guy thinks he acts for the right reason. The elves are so vivid and make the journey sparkle and I am so curious to go further on a journey with Kamina and the other head figures.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series. If you love a book with an exciting start , wonderful creatures and a magical and fantasy world with action and depth, this one is definitely for you.
Huge thank you to @lovebooktours and Andrew Rainnie for sending a copy my way! I loved this book! It was high fantasy at its best. Filled with elves, men, rangers, cyclops, centaurs you name it, this story brings you on a magical, tense and action packed adventure. I LOVED the main characters Kamina, and Callaghan Tor. Their interactions with each other and other characters was cleverly written. The world building was fascinating and filled with action and magic. If anything I wanted more of this. Especially more of Kamina and Callaghan. As with any high fantasy there is a lot of information to get your head round but there’s handy maps throughout to help you along the way. The pacing was perfect, I loved all the characters and I can’t wait to read the next book! Highly recommend for fans of Tolkien and the witcher series ✨
Andrew offered me a free copy of his book in exchange for an honest review. Usually, I steer clear from the fantasy genre, however, I was curious so I decided I would give it a try. I became completely engrossed in the mythical land of Enara and loved the strong female characters in particular. Spirits of Vengeance is a powerfully written book and after a couple of chapters it became compulsive reading for me as I immersed myself in this magical world from cover to cover. I would recommend this book not only to people who love this genre, but also to those who want to venture out of their comfort zone and get completely lost in a wonderful book!
Having loved previous Epic Fantasy books, I was immediately intrigued by Spirits of Vengeance : The Stone of Spirits. The level of detail and world building immediately draws you into the story as well as brilliant characters with defining aspects. The mystery and tension builds nicely with a well paced plot. I very much look forward to the next installment!
Right from the start I found the world building to be exceptional. With this being book one in a series it has a lot to do when it come to world building but Rainnie handled this well. At no point did I feel like I was just getting bombarded with information, the world was build up naturally.
Now this book is packed full of interest characters, not all of which are human. It’s got elves, a cyclops, a golem and so many more! I found the 3 main characters to all be likeable and interesting, but this was balanced out with a mix of characters who weren’t so likeable!
There were plenty of action scenes spread out through the book which were all well written. There was also a healthy sprinkling of humour through out the story which I very much enjoyed!
One of the thoughts that kept popping into my head whilst reading this book is that it would be perfect for being adapted in to tv series, I even found myself thinking about how certain points would be ideal for ending episodes!
My only real negative thought was that I felt the ending was slightly rushed and I would have liked for some of the events that happened to have been explained a bit more either during or after the events.
Overall an excellent read which I thoroughly enjoyed!
It's been many years since I've read an epic fantasy novel and when author Andrew John Rainnie offered me a pre-release copy of his new book Spirits of Vengeance: The Stone of Spirits I wasn't sure that the genre was still to my taste. However, having come to the end of the book it obviously still is and I've enjoyed the time I've spent lost in the distant land of Enara in the continent of Amaros.
This really is an epic novel, almost five hundred Kindle pages in length, which stretches over land, sea and air in a totally imagined world on a huge scale.
The story centres around two tree elves, Kamina and Kaedin, who join up with the Ishkava Ranger, Callaghan Tor, in a quest to find the ancient Stone of Spirits and use its power to prevent the total destruction planned by the zealous Malenek and his spirit army.
The plot is complex and there are a considerable number of subsidiary characters. Some of these offer assistance to the two elves and the ranger; many do not. All the characters have invented names, as do the various locations in which the story is set, but they are not difficult to remember. This is one of the strengths of the book and comes about because Andrew John Rainnie has written the book in a very visual style. Consequently the reader encounters new characters and destinations with explanations and descriptions that work well to create images that ensure they are fixed in the reader's imagination.
In addition to the heroic elf-girl, Kamina Elloeth, there are other strong female characters in Spirits of Vengeance: The Stone of Spirits. I particularly liked the "princess" Jazintha and her idiosyncratic way of speaking.
The narrative voice has an olde worlde, timeless feel which is often poetic and lyrical and draws the reader subtly into this other world where there are two suns and two moons and a complete acceptance that it should be no other way.
While reading the book I sometimes found myself remembering other long forgotten fantasy novels. I thought I could sense the influence of Tolkien and Philip Pullman although at times there were overtones of the biblical as well. I don't mean that Spirits of Vengeance: The Stone of Spirits is in any way derivative but that it is placed in a long tradition of epic fantasy writing.
My only reservation about the book is that the version I was reading contained a number of typographical errors and I really hope that these have been rectified. They didn't spoil the story but they can be irritating.
The ending of the book is very well constructed bringing resolution and closure to the story but opening out naturally into a sequel. Overall I really enjoyed reading Spirits of Vengeance: The Stone of Spirits and am grateful to author Andrew John Rainnie for offering me the chance to read the book.
Spirits of Vengeance by Andrew John Rainnie is an explosive, imaginative tale of the world called Enara. I love the way the characters are wonderfully woven into an easy to follow web of mortals, immortals, spirits and elevens.
One of my favorite characters, Callaghan Tor, is an elite ranger striving to unite two lands that have been at war for thirty years. His theory of how to successfully unite the two lands is to travel across the great ocean to the enemy land of Zalestia and find a suitable apprentice to train as an Amaros ranger. Callaghan was clinging to the hope that this would bring the two lands together in harmony.
Lord Malenek, a priest, had attempted to unite the two lands through religion and failed. Now the priest is forced into exile and has another plan of his own. He believes he can bring peace and harmony to the world with his self-made army of vengeance spirits.
Meanwhile, Callaghan Tor’s plan to unite the lands in peace takes troubling twists and turns when he finds his life to be in the hands of his “trusted” apprentice. As a result of his apprentice’s false loyalty, Callaghan was left for dead after an attempt to end his life. But, to Lord Malenek’s shocked disappointment, Callaghan returns with a vengeance. Lord Malenek is marching across the land of Amaros with his spirit army in what he believes is saving and cleansing souls.
The people of Amaros are deemed helpless to Lord Maleneks’s evil spirit army. Malenek’s evil scheme is flawless. Callaghan Tor (along with a young tree elf named Kamina Elloeth and her spirit brother as accomplices) sets out with determination. While braving the elements and treacherous travels by sea, land and air through enemy lands to find an ancient artifact (the Stone of Spirits) which is believed to save the world from Lord Malenek’s evil destructive army. Time is of the essence in their perilous journey.
Spirits of Vengeance is an entertaining read that kept me on the edge of my seat. I found myself cheering the characters on with each accomplishment and sharing with them the disappointments at each road block. I can’t wait for the sequel to this fantastic story!
Book review by Monica McDaniel for eBook Review Gal. eBook Review Gal received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Being completely honest,at first, I found it difficult to get into this novel. However, as soon as I was about 6o pages in I was swept away by the world of Enara. I had to sit down and really concentrate when reading this which sometimes I find hard to do but I enjoyed doing it.
I find most fantasy novels are not very well-written and lose the main focus of the plot, to me they can lack certain things. This novel certainly did not do that. As soon as I had finished it, I was wanting more. The fantasised world had me so captivated and spellbound and the wonderful characters ,which were beautifully created, had me enticed.
Even though this is a lengthy read it is worth it. I kept wanting to read more, to find out about my favourite character (it kept changing). At first I loved Kaedin and Kamina (two elves) and then I slowly warmed to the ever so brilliant Callaghan Tor. I loved how there was a strong female character in Kamina and it’s something which is lacking in many epic fantasy novels.
The plot is complex and there are a lot of minor character’s but it all adds to build and create this wonderful world. I loved how they all had individual names and how the descriptions of everything were so visual that I could see the journey which was being taken to unite the two worlds.
Spirits of Vengeance had that Tolkien feel and you could tell that Rainnie has been influenced by the great man, not to say that as a bad thing! I loved it! Overall, Spirits of Vengeance was a very entertaining read that had me captivated and enthralled. I did find myself mentally screaming when characters either toke the wrong or right turns (a very good sign).
Do I think epic fantasy lovers should read this? YES. I recommend you read it straight away. I loved being swept away into Enara and am looking forward to the sequel.
The book for review is “Spirits of Vengeance:The Stone of Spirits” by Andrew John Rainnie. It falls in the genre of fantasy.
What does two tree elves, a Ishkava Ranger, a priest and a cyclop have in common? War.
Two of the main characters are Kamina and Kaedin, two elves who now live in the trees and forest where their kind now resides, leaving the comforts of towns and the humans. But their world changes when a Ranger by the name of Callaghan Tor crosses their path. Their lives are interrupted as they start a journey to save their home.
How can they do so? It starts with the ancient Stone of Spirits which with its powers will prevent the total destruction of the world as they know it. Who would want to destruct the world? Malenek and his army. But not just any army, one whose members are the dead.
Their path cover the many terrain of their world, from the sea to the desert and all the many places in between. This is not a quest for the weak at heart and mind. There will be death, many to occur before the band of fighters can begin to fight for their world and the world of their family and friends.
There are many characters in this book, one that is rather lengthy. Yet even though it is a novel that has many pages, it does not stop you from turning them as you want to know what is on the other side, as you want to know what is going to happen to your now favorite character.
I did enjoy this book and I am not one who picks up fantasy to ready for a good read. One really gets their money worth when they purchase this book.
Spirits of Vengeance: The Stone of Spirits by Andrew John Rainnie
Kamina Elloeth, her ghost brother along with Ishkava Ranger go on a quest to find an ancient artifact. This seems to be the solution to stopping Lord Malenek and his Vengeance Spirits from destroying the people and land of Enara. Many, many dangers and death occur along the way. Kamina has her mind set on completing this mission. Kamina, an elf, will battle many enemies, uncover hidden truths and cross dangerous lands to find the Stone of Spirits.
A well written fantasy/adventure. I really loved that Kamina was an elf. That does not occur often in the books I have read, and I just love elves. To see one being the "good guy" and fight for justice was very satisfying. Among the danger hides secrets, some of which are devastating, shocking, a true surprise. That made Spirits of Vengeance: The Stone of Spirits much more intense, gripping and enjoyable. I highly recommend to those who love fantasy/adventure and elves!
A brilliant and enthralling read from start to finish. The world of Enara is beautifully brought to life by the powerful writing. The story has real emotional impact and the detail to cultures and history is gripping I cannot wait to see what's next for Kamina and Callaghan.
