Hawke Lightseeker leads an expedition to the city of Akila, planning to confront Kaiser Wrecker and his guild. But the Nerf Herders are only one of many threats lurking in the Imperial city. Hawke and his friends soon become embroiled in a conflict with ancient Undead and deceitful Sidhe. And Kaiser has more than a few surprises for his hated enemy.
Guild at Wars continues the LitRPG series that began with Twilight Templar. Character progression, new levels, skills, magic systems and Mana cultivation all play a role in the story, along with drama, action and adventure.
C.J. discovered his obsession with making up crap and writing it down at the age of 6, when he wrote his first short story, back in the days when the Cold War was still on and the only mobile devices were the wrist watch and the walkie-talkie. He's been making up crap and writing it down for fun and profit ever since.
Mistakes: I can't give this a better review do to this being a fourth book and I found nine errors without even trying. Most are sentences missing words. One was wrong word used and another was crows eye instead of crows feet. Crowd feet are what the wrinkles around the eye are called, not crows eyes.
Plot: Title says Guild at War. Don't expect much war. It was a guild beat down and mostly fighting undead.
Characters: We start to learn who is pulling the MC strings, but only a glimmer.
This is a solid series with interesting world building and characters. With this book the author moved away from the harem theme that was developing earlier and I consider this a good thing. The author also started separating out purely character Stat chapters which I think is a good thing.
Great action, plot progression, new skills and even more dangerous enemies. This series is really growing, and Hawk is quickly becoming a powerhouse in the genre. I look forward to the next book.
About the same as the previous book. It’s very simple and straightforward, MC is growing close to that too stupid to live level of believability though. If food, it’d be gas station food.
Another good book in the series with interesting plot and characters. The world building and action is really good, while there is fun in the character interactions. Looking forward to the next book.
