I have loved every book in The Hearts of Oklahoma series. This book centers on Kate Rainbolt, the only girl in the family of boys. I appreciate that the Author gave readers the opportunity to get to know her in The Cowgirl's Sacrifice. I love that the four leading characters in the series all had strong personalities . I thought it was a wonderful romance story and I was pleased with how the series ended. This book just drew me in and kept me till the last page. I was anxious to get to know Kate as she had popped in and out of the other books in this series. I got to know her and I liked her as a person with a caring heart. I'm going to miss this series and all the likeable characters I've enjoyed so much.
Kate Rainbolt has come home from the rodeo circuit on a medical leave. The first thing that happens before she even arrives at the ranch is running into her former high school/college sweetheart at the donut shop. He claims to be the new foreman at the Rainbolt ranch. Kate was counting on that job since her brothers had offered her the position. She isn't happy that she will be seeing her old high school flame on a daily basis. What good can come from that and why did her brothers hire him for the foreman job when they had offered her the job.
Jess McNally isn't happy to run into Kate Rainbolt at the donut shop. After college he had proposed marriage to her. She had turned him down and joined the rodeo circuit. He must avoid her if he doesn't want his heart broken again. The only reason he came back home was that his Mother was sick and he wanted to be with her. How will he avoid running into Kate at the ranch if she's back home again? This isn't a good thing to happen after all these years.
I recommend this book to readers of Love Inspired contemporary romance and fans on Tina Radcliffe. This is the final book in the Hearts of Oklahoma series. It can be read as a stand alone but if you read the other books of the series in the order they were released it will give you the opportunity to follow the story line and get to know the other characters better as they all are carried over from book to book in the series.

‘You know, we’re both well educated people. Conversation shouldn’t be this difficult.’

I love this series featuring the Rainbolt family in the little Oklahoma town of Rebel. Tina Radcliffe has created a town I would love to visit. And a wonderful family! I have loved each of the Rainbolt brothers’ stories and was very excited to read sister Kate’s story. And Radcliffe did not disappoint. Kate’s character was a no nonsense, brave, spirited and very special one. And Jess’s character was just great. These two matched perfectly. I loved every minute and read in less than a day. Well done!

My thanks to the publisher and author for a copy of this book. I was not expected to leave a positive review. The opinion here is my own.

The past had brought her here, and it was time to start living the life the Lord had put in front of her. Yes, it was time. Time to put down roots and call Rebel Ranch home.

Facing ones past is never easy for any of us. There are always regrets and things we wished we would have done differently. Kate's been one of those people who never really put roots down anywhere & the ever changing rodeo life has been her passion. That is until a serious injury sidelines her and has her running back home to Rebel Ranch. Now she not only has to face her three older brothers, but Jess McNally, her ex-boyfriend of ten years ago. Maybe this is exactly where God wants her to be so she can heal both physically & spiritually. Because running away from her problems hasn't worked out so well for her!

I thought I'd be falling down and getting up and rodeoing forever. That's pretty silly, right? Thirty years old, and I'm back to wondering what I want to be when I grow up. ~Kate pg. 108

I really enjoyed getting to know Kate. She's the elusive rebel younger sister who I've only gotten a glance or two of over this book series. I've wondered what kept her in the background & Tina did an excellent job of telling her background story. She's what I would call a prodigal daughter, an independent, strong-willed, no-nonsense kind of gal. When she comes face-to-face with Jess, there are things that come to light and a deeper understanding of what makes Kate who she is. I love a classic reunion or second-chance romance story, so this was a real treat for me to watch both Jess & Kate work through their past relationship to give love another chance.

We both had a lot of mud to slog through to get where we are. I'm thinking it's time we both give as much time to our future as we have given to our past. ~Jess pg. 213

I'm sad to leave the Rainbolts behind, but what a perfect ending to this fabulous series! Each sibling had a lot to learn in each book and journeying with them through it was a real treat. I hope you love Kate as much as I did, she's a real fire-cracker but has a sweet heart beating beneath that tough exterior! I also hope you love this story of second-chances, both in life & love, the value of strong family ties, and going back to the basics of old fashioned faith in trusting God to guide your life even when you can't see what the future holds.

The Cowgirl's Sacrifice is one satisfying grand finale to the Hearts of Oklahoma series! Readers are in for a wonderful treat! Five stars all the way!

Kate Rainbolt is one sassy tough cowgirl, and why wouldn't she be? She was raised by three strong brothers after their father abandoned them. When Kate's rodeo injuries have her returning home to Rebel, Oklahoma and running into her old flame Jess McNally the starks begin to fly!

Jess McNally has returned home to help care for his mother during her health issues and lands the job of foreman at Rebel Ranch, a job that had been offered to Kate. Seeing Kate again after ten years has him in quite a state. He loved her and she rejected his proposal, so even though he's still attracted to her, he's in protective mode.

The Cowgirl's Sacrifice deals with issues of child abandonment, unworthiness, forgiveness and sacrificial love. Tina Radcliffe handles these topics so well, taking two stubborn wounded people turning their lives upside down then right side up. The journey however is not without it's bumps and bruises.

I loved seeing all the Rainbolt family again. Willard was the classic old cowboy and his wisdom quotes had me laughing out loud, such a great character! Kate's "discovery" of the slow cooker and all its magical abilities had me laughing too.

The epilogue was great! I had to read a couple of lines more than once to be sure the outcome said what I thought it said! A very unique and original ending.

I'd love to read at least one more book in this series, Nicole and Finn's story. A reader can hope!
I appreciate the author making a copy of The Cowgirl's Sacrifice available for review. All thoughts and opinions are my very own.

I really enjoyed this story, even thought I have not read the previous ones in this series. I will be going back and reading the previous stories though. Kate Rainbolt was a rodeo clown, who had almost been killed protecting a bull rider. She returns home to the family ranch to heal and hopefully remain as the Ranch Foreman. When she gets home, she finds out that she waited too long and her brothers have hired, Jess McNally, her ex who wanted to marry her ten years before. Now at a crossroads and not knowing what to do next, Kate has to find her place in her family and the world.

Kate is a no nonsense, brave, spirited woman, who has some baggage she must come to understand and move on from. She loves her family, but is keeping a lot of secrets from her brothers. Jess, is a great character. He has returned to Rebel because of his mother's illness. He also has baggage when it comes to his father and decisions he made years before. He is also still very attracted to Kate, but he is afraid that he won't be able to trust her. Forgiveness of self and others comes into play in this story. This is a wonderful Christian romance that has themes of moving forward, forgiveness, reconciling with your past, finding your place, honesty and the power of prayer. I really enjoyed this story and hope to go back and spend time with the other Rainbolt siblings. I received a copy of this book from the publisher upon request. The rating and opinions shared are my own.

“You know, we’re both well educated people. Conversation shouldn’t be this difficult.”

Everything Tina Radcliffe writes is enjoyable (though, to my everlasting shame, I believe this is the first of her books that I’ve reviewed), and The Cowgirl’s Sacrifice is no exception. Witty and heartfelt, this story tugs at a range of emotions and leaves you smiling on the inside – and the outside!

Poor Kate. I alternately wanted to hug her and shake her for keeping the seriousness of her injuries from the people who care about her the most – her brothers Rainbolt & her ex-boyfriend Jess McNally. She is fiercely independent and comes across as a little prickly at first, but she has a tender heart on the inside, makes prayer a priority, and wants to help those who can’t help themselves. That’s how she’s injured, as a matter of fact, and it may cause her more time in the hospital before all is said and done. (You’ll just have to read the book to find out why – my spoiler-free lips are sealed!) I grinned at her complete ineptness in the kitchen – until Jess & his adorable niece Olive give her a foolproof solution – and then I chuckled more than once at her amazement over her newfound cooking skills. I also loved how Radcliffe uses this plot device to allow Kate to meet a need in sweet Olive’s heart.

Jess isn’t quite as prickly as Kate, though he certainly has his cactus-y moments in The Cowgirl’s Sacrifice, but his heart is just as tender. (I’m sure he wouldn’t want me admitting that to the world, so that stays between us, ok?) Both he and Kate have some baggage from their respective fathers, and, while Kate’s baggage kept her away from Rebel, it’s Jess’s baggage that brings him home. I gotta say, this cowboy had me grinning & swooning – and while he’s definitely the more serious of the two, I loved how he could hold his own with Kate’s wit as well as with the hoot-of-a-character Willard. (“Keep in mind I’m a couple of eggs short of a dozen right now. And, what’s left is scrambled.”)

Bottom Line: The Cowgirl’s Sacrifice is a sweet story of forgiveness, healing (in various forms) love, and restoration. The Rainbolt family is all over the small town of Rebel, and readers will enjoy getting reacquainted with their faves from the previous books in this series. (No worries if you’ve not read the others yet; this one works well as a standalone if need be.) Kate & Jess are the types of characters that have you rooting for their happily ever after, and you’ll fall in love with the supporting players in their story too. The proverbial ‘they’ may say that you can’t go home again, but Kate and Jess are proving them wrong in this delightful romance from master author Tina Radcliffe. (If it helps, I’m willing to beg for Nicole & Finn’s story too!)

Kate Rainbolt has spent ten years on the rodeo circuit. She has been hurt from time to time, but nothing like the injuries she is sporting now. She returns to her family ranch and is looking forward to taking on the job as foreman on ther brothers' ranch. However, Kate is too late. The job has been given to her ex-boyfriend, Jess McNally. Jess is back in town as his father is recovering from a stroke.

Will Karen not only be able to deal with seeing Jess on a daily basis, and what's more, report to him? Will their previously powerful feelings for one aother come back? Kate knows why she left ten years ago, Jess cannot help but wonder why she did and whether or not she is back to stay.

There is a lot of give and take between Kate and Jess, especially as they are forced to confront their past feelings and what is happening between them now. I really felt for Kate and the injuries she suffered and how they impacted her life now. What is more is Jess's story with his mother was quite touching and that made this story all that more impessionable. Family connections and faith were powerful catalysts in this wonderful story.

Many thanks to Harlequin Love Inspired and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest. opinion.

The Cowgirl’s Sacrifice was a nice conclusion to a really great series! If you haven’t read the other books in the series, you could probably still pick this one up and enjoy Kate and Jess’s story anyway.

Kate had been mentioned in the previous books, however, it was always very clear that she was on the road with the rodeo and in no hurry to come back home. Her situation in this book made a return home necessary. And even though she tried to make the best of it, she still pulled against the restrictions in place to help her heal.

I liked seeing Kate and Jess together. They had a history and it became obvious that they did still care for each other. But they had some obstacles to overcome before they could find happiness together. I enjoyed this sweet story!

Tina Radcliffe writes the best families! I love the Rainbolt’s, like do they need another sibling? And, I seriously love Rebel, OK! Can I just move there right now?

I have really been looking forward to Kate’s story. After reading the last book in the series, I was hoping Finn would be the male main character, but, I’m happy to say that Jess was an absolutely fine replacement! I loved his character! Kate was a tad prickly, but I loved them as a couple. They complimented each other perfectly!

I am so sad that this series is over. I’m gonna miss these characters. I’m also gonna miss Willard and his Willard-isms! What a great secondary character he is!

I can’t wait to read whatever Tina Radcliffe writes next! Hopefully, we might get to read Finn and Nicole’s story next!

MY THOUGHTS
The Cowgirl’s Sacrifice is a sweet and adorable second chance romance that gives the reader all different feelings.

I loved the way that Radcliffe made me fall in love with the characters, the setting, and she wove in several lessons while giving a sweet romance.

I didn’t realize that this was not the first book in the series until I pulled up the information for my review, however, I wasn’t lost in the story and I now look forward to reading the other books in the series. I really love that the author has main characters who are siblings.

*3.5 stars rounded to 4 stars.

Thank you in advance to the author, Tina Radcliffe, for providing a complimentary copy of the book. A positive review was definitely not required or requested in any way; all words are my own.

I can hardly believe we’ve met the fourth remaining Rainbolt sibling. And, if you haven’t guessed by now, I’m definitely not new to Tina Radcliffe’s writing.

To recap …

Finding the Road Home – (Mitch) over a year ago, Finding the Road Home was released. Readers met the oldest Rainbolt sibling Mitch, who was (sorry about the spoiler if you haven’t read it), Rebel’s police chief. Readers also met Daisy, with her large brood (really miss reading about some of those kids), who was a member of the police department. I’m still chuckling over the “working for pies” gag.

[NOTE: I ended up winning a copy of this from someone, and then the author sent and autographed copy with another book, this was my “birthday” gift]

Ready to Trust – (Reece) The next brother. Not only did he inherit half (½) of Ballard Farms, he has a daughter he didn’t know about. And, the funny part? Mitch teased him in the first (1st) book about finding love – I’m not over those peaches!! [A Prism Book Tours read]

His Holiday Prayer – (Tucker) Oh, this guy! Smart, sometimes clueless, the local vet who seems to sucker everyone into taking a pet home. No one is exempt, not even his siblings. He’s a widower who can be stubborn, annoying, and clueless when he comes to his vet partner Jena. [Wrangler Team read]

As those had happy endings (and many of the stories concluded inside themselves), this will be NO exception. But, it will be the journey this story takes.

I honestly loved this cover – Kate seems like such a free spirit, confident woman that no one would guess that she is doing what she does for a highly personal reason.

There are some characters and “fun” story lines that are definitely gone this time around, and have no mentions at all – the missing cherub from the first book, Beep Jeep Tours, and for sheriff’s deputy Roscoe (he was with Luna at the end of book #1).

Mitch, Reece, and Tucker have a significant presence in this book as well.

Another addition to the ranch – Jess McNally, Kate’s old ex-boyfriend. He ends up with the position she was offered. And, did I EVER love Jess! There were some great quotes of his that I just couldn’t stop laughing about – “Keep in mind I’m a couple of eggs short of a dozen right now. And, what’s left is scrambled”. That topped Willard and his “older than dirt” reference to himself.

There were several things about Kate I definitely connected with. Not that I’m such a bad cook that I’d burn air, but I am not that great with recipes. I can copy it exactly as it is written, and it doesn’t come out at all like it is supposed to. I also LOVE Dr. Pepper, along with apple fritters. There’s also pork carnitas and a mention of Sonic.

Anyway …

Kate is recovering from an injury that is more severe than she’s letting her family and those around her know. And, she’s not sure what she wants to do with her future. I’ll have to admit, despite reading about her in previous books, I found the idea of a female rodeo clown a unique profession.

And, right off she runs into Jess. Dark hair, handsome, tall – oh, my kinda guy! Though, this isn’t a happy reunion. And, eventually, he’s going to want to know where they stand. But, it wasn’t just them that had issues years ago, Jess’ late father had his say which wasn’t favorable.

Kate’s brothers gang up on her about her injuries and her new job there at Rebel Ranch. In addition, Tucker gives her a cat much like her – just needs love and attention. Even Jess hasn’t escaped Tucker’s pet-giving.

While Kate recovers and tries to figure out what to do, she gets close to Jess’ mom who was close to the Rainbolts’ mother, but Susan McNally also needs a kidney. Grab the tissues!

While Kate figures her life out, she sees a “calling” and decides to take a chance while she’s slowly learning her rodeo career might be over. A friend offers her a chance to remain close to it though. Jess eventually learns how severe Kate’s injuries were and what a hero she is.

Kate becomes close to Jess’ niece Olive whose father has left her as well. Kate’s words to the girl also seem to have an effect on Kate too. This is another “grab the tissues” moment. Jess’ niece Olive also helps Kate with cooking lessons and gives her a crockpot which helps Kate immensely. No more burnt toasters!

Despite Jess and Kate enjoying the friendship they’re rekindling – it’s not a romance, at least that’s what they tell themselves. And, Jess is sure Kate will leave again so he doesn’t want to get too close to her. Yet, he can’t stop his feelings for her.

Kate not only has to come to terms with a new road in her life, but the end of a journey as well.

Watching Jess and Kate rebuild their friendship/relationship is at times sweet and frustrating. And, Radcliffe drew it out to almost the very end.

Radcliffe definitely hits home with the realities of medical bills, accidents (and their lasting impact), along with the issue of dads leaving their children behind for whatever reason. It was poignant and absolutely sweet.

Other than the “disappearance” of Roscoe, I noticed that in book #1 (Finding the Road Home) and this book, the story of their father was changed a bit. In the first book it was hinted their father was deceased “the Rainbolt siblings didn’t inherit the ranch until both their parents passed” (pg. 34). In this book, Kate has spent 10 years looking for their father on the rodeo circuit, though Mitch hints he might have died. Did Mitch know something he wasn’t telling Kate?

Despite those “differences”, this was definitely the best book of the group story-wise. It did seem more personal to me, there is a mention of kidney donation. I mentioned it because my mom spent most of her work career on a kidney transplant floor. In addition, there is a particular TV character by the name of Jess that I love!!

This was endearing and beautiful and had a WHOLE load of goodness. I couldn’t put it down. There were times I laughed, sometimes more than I probably should’ve, especially when Mitch’s family was hit with “the nasties” (stomach bug).

There was also an issue with Kate and a hammock in which she insists the instructions are in Klingon (Star Trek) and Jess, deadpan, claims to be fluent in it.

Radcliffe definitely didn’t skimp on the witty repertoire at all!

Usually, these books are the 1-2 day reads, the length of time read doesn’t reflect on the novel – I’m in the middle of CampNaNo as well.

While this could be a standalone read, I VERY HIGHLY suggest that readers check out the previous three (3) books in the series so they can get to know all the Rainbolt siblings.

Since this is distributed by Love Inspired expect some references to God and faith. And, as always, these are clean reads.

Radcliffe’s fans, those who’ve read the previous three (3) books, and fans of the genre are sure to enjoy this read. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what she’s cooking up next. And, I still have her Big Heart Ranch books on the “eternal” TBR list.

Kate Rainbolt’s much-anticipated story is an absolute winner!

I love the Rainbolt brothers featured in the earlier Hearts of Oklahoma books, and author Tina Radcliffe’s last story in the series, The Cowgirl’s Sacrifice, was worth the wait! We finally get sister Kate’s romance! With intertwined pasts, a handsome cowboy and a wandering cowgirl must overcome complex issues to find grace and follow their hearts for a second chance at a happily-ever-after ending. A complete delight to read!

Sheltered by protective older brothers, Kate Rainbolt took a courageous and unusual path to become a rodeo clown. When a traumatic accident temporarily sidelines her, Kate heads home hoping to recuperate while working at the family ranch.

After his estranged father’s death, Jess McNally returns to Oklahoma to be near his ailing mother. Employed as ranch foreman for Kate’s brothers, Jess McNally is conflicted when he becomes their sister’s boss. Years ago, he had plans to marry Kate, but she left him behind to pursue other dreams.

Tina Radcliffe’s books are always entertaining, filled with humor, touching characters and sweet romance. However, this return visit to Rebel Ranch in Oklahoma, provides an even higher level of enjoyment. My heart was warmed at Kate’s empathy for Jess’ niece, Olive, who shares a similar painful childhood. Kate’s compassionate and faith-filled personality shines throughout the book. I enjoyed her journey to a new beginning and truly admired her selfless gift of sacrificial love.

And of course there is food involved! We get virtual apple fritters from Eagle Donuts, a special cupcake from Daisy’s Pies and Baked Goods, and in this story, sweet nine-year-old Olive gives Kate cooking lessons, proving we all can learn if we have the right encouragement. (Recipes included on Tina Radcliffe’s webpage!) I highly recommend this latest story by one of my favorite authors.

Favorite quotes:
“I guess anything beautiful comes with risks.”

After ten years as a tumbleweed, could she put down roots forever?

“This isn’t about paying a debt, “ Kate said. “This is about how sometimes you just know you’re on the correct path.”

Sigh. I want to be adopted into the Rainbolt clan. I am so sad this series has come to an end so I'm kinda in a bibliophile funk now that everything seems to be sorted on the ranch. It seems to me there aren't enough Rainbolt siblings to satisfy my insatiable desire for more fun and mayhem. And toe curls. :-) My only consolation is that the author is sure to conjure up more heroes and heroines that I'm bound to love in future books...even if they won't be Rainbolts. :-(

So, though this is a fond farewell, it's an easy enough one for new to the Hearts of Oklahoma series readers to slip into. Once you've had an introduction to Kate and her brothers (fan girling squeal) however, you'll definitely want to read the first three books as well.

Love that Kate is the adventuring rodeo cowgirl -- nice twist as that's usually the hero's claim to fame. And that she's restless and antsy and unsettled about whether she's capable of staying put in one place. Again, that's usually the brooding hero's role. And while, Kate isn't quite brooding, she's definitely sassy and opinionated and often grumpy. Especially where Jess is considered. :-)

He's a hero who captured my heart from that emotionally fraught reunion 'cause Kate was the girl who got away and he's not over that ten years later. Awkward doesn't begin to describe this homecoming. Especially since Jess is ensconced in the foreman job Kate thought would be hers at the family ranch! Cue the romantic tension and don a pair of oven mitts to avoid scorching your finger tips as you turn pages cause things heat up between this wrangling duo.

Radcliffe adds in layers of depth and interest through a bevy of secondary characters who share the page with Kate and Jess. Especially loved the sibling interactions as Kate makes her stand amidst three over protective big brothers. And, of course, what would a visit to the ranch be without some sage advice, delivered in cowboy twang from old timer Willard? And newbie rescue cat Bella who comes with a "horse trailer full of attitude." They all conspire to make this grand finale the grandest of all!

Wonderful story!

Aww! Kate and Jess were so much fun! I loved their interactions - the way he wouldn't put up with her nonsense and especially the way he wouldn't lie for her. Not that she was trying to be cruel or sneaky or evil, she just didn't want her brothers to know how serious her injuries were.

And I loved Kate's gentle, though wounded, heart. Her father's desertion when she was younger had caused her such insecurity and grief! The cruel words Jess' father had spoken to her compounded her pain. Her brothers, who I met in the previous stories of the series, were everything I had remembered. Tucker's comment about how she had ended up with three overprotective fathers instead of the one who left them was quite apt!

I was fascinated to read about Kate's experience as a barrel man (also known as a bullfighter or rodeo clown.) It made me want to watch some rodeo videos!

One of the things I especially appreciated about The Cowgirl's Sacrifice, in addition to the excellent writing, was the way the story was so engaging. Though the pain and grief of the characters were emphasized, it was done in a manner that didn't seem repetitive or tedious. The delightful plot was enhanced by the sweet romance, not overwhelmed by it.

If you enjoy engaging romances with a touch of faith, you will want to read The Cowgirl's Sacrifice. And while you're at it, why not read the entire Hearts of Oklahoma series? You won't regret it!

I always feel like I'm on a wonderful trail ride when I read one of Tina' Radcliffe's books. I get to see amazing scenery, have an enjoyable time, and meet wonderful people that I want to hang out with on the trail. The Cowgirl's Sacrifice was no different, and one of my new favorites that Tina Radcliffe has written.

The main character Kate Rebel is a spunky character with purple tipped hair who was injured in her job as a rodeo clown. While she is healing she comes back to work at her family's Rebel Ranch and finds out she is reporting to Jess McNally, her ex-boyfriend. Their banter it's great and our hope is that they rekindle their romance as they sort through their history. Tina paints a picture of life in small town Oklahoma that makes me want to move to Oklahoma. All members of the Rebel family make an appearance and it felt like coming home.

The Cowgirl’s Sacrifice by Tina Radcliffe is an endearing story about second chances. The story is entertaining, funny, and heartwarming. I highly recommend you read this story!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Prism Book Tours. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The Cowgirl's Sacrifice by Tina Radcliffe is all about Kate Rainbolt coming home to recover.
Will Kate find a life awaiting her at Rebel Ranch?
Kate Rainbolt
Kate Rainbolt is the only girl in the family, and sadly the last child of the Rainbolt siblings. Since she graduated college, she has been on the rodeo circuit while not looking back on when she was living at Rebel. Well, until a rodeo accident has her coming back home to recover. Kate is a great character that I loved learning about. She is a bit of a rebel herself, like dying the ends of her hair purple and figuring out what to do with her life now. I like how Kate unknowingly was making a home at Rebel Ranch and getting used to the idea that maybe coming back home wasn't such a bad idea. If I saw Kate on the road, I probably would be amazed at how cool a person she is but unsure if I could go up and start a conversation.
Jess McNallyThe Cowgirl's Sacrifice CR
Jess McNally used to be up in Montana working on a ranch himself until his mom needed him to return to Rebel to help out. He is now the foreman at Rebel Ranch, and he has the right credentials to do it. I like how Jess always tells Kate that he won't lie for her and that if one of her brothers asks him for an opinion on her, he will give it to them. Jess is a great character that compliments Kate's a lot. Jess is the rule follower who tries to do everything right, while Kate is the one that tries to follow the rules before deciding that they aren't for her.

I love their relationship in the book, and I liked how Jess had been wooing Kate from the beginning without even realizing it. At least he was doing his version of wooing Kate. If I met Jess on the side of the road, I would probably end up saying hi to him and then probably running off. I don't think I could have struck up a conversation with him either.
Five Stars
The Cowgirl's Sacrifice by Tina Radcliffe is a sweet story that is about the last Rainbolt maybe finally coming home. I loved this story, and it is bittersweet to know that it is the last book in this series. Ms. Radcliffe has done an awesome job creating these wonderful people called the Rainbolt's. Each one is unique in their own way and needed their story to be told. Kate's story is one where when one door closes, and another one opens to a new path that you need to take. Let it be to come home finally or a different way to still be on the rodeo circuit. I am giving The Cowgirl's Sacrifice by Tina Radcliffe five stars as it was a nice read that had me laughing and crying at all the right parts. I am recommending this to anyone that likes sweet western romances.

THE COWGIRL’S SACRIFICE by Tina Radcliffe is the fourth book in the Hearts of Oklahoma series. It’s the wonderful heartwarming story of Kate Rainbolt. She’s grown up bucking heads with her brothers and others to prove that girls can do anything boys can and she’s as determined to be tough as nails and stubborn enough to prove it still.

After riding the rodeo circuit, Kate returns home to Rebel, Oklahoma to recover from severe injuries sustained from being attacked by a bull while working as a rodeo clown. Being home around loved ones may be just the medicine she needs. She thought taking her brothers up on the foreman job offered a few months ago would give her body time to heal and time to figure out her life’s direction after having her whole world turned upside down. Life as she knew could be no more. However, on arrival the first person she sees is Jess McNally, the man whose marriage proposal she rejected 10 years earlier, and finds out he’s already been hired for the position.

After Kate’s rejection all those years ago and the continuing riff with his father over change his college major and changing the direction of his life away from following in his father’s footsteps into medicine, Jess had packed up a moved to Montana. After the death of his father and without mending the riff, Jess moved back home to Rebel to be near and to care for his ailing mother. After Kate is offered the equine management job and will be reporting to him, can they put the past behind them and work together? Can Jess get over his guilt of not being there for his family while he was away?

Kate may be able to hide the extent of her injuries from her brothers, but it’s not long before Jess figures out how bad they really are. Can Jess guard his once battered heart while keeping an eye on and protecting Kate? Will being around Jess bring back old feelings? Can she put aside the reasons for her leaving all those years ago? Can the scars of the past be healed without Kate finding her runaway father?

Kate has always had a soft spot in her heart for Susan, Jess’s mother, but reconnecting on her return home leads her to finding out more about her mother, what dear friends they were and how Susan was, albeit unknown to Kate, an important part of the Rainbolt kids lives after the death of their mother. When Kate finds out how ill Susan is and in need of a kidney transplant and after many prayers and asking for direction, she feels the need to be tested to see if she might be a possible kidney match. It would be a way of helping a woman she’s always admired who was her mother’s best friend and helping her as she had helped them so much all those years ago. But after all the prayers and medical testing, will she be a match with Susan? Is this the real purpose for her returning home?

Is Kate’s and Jess’ history in the past or started over after a ten year lull? Are they each willing to take that chance of being hurt again? Or is Kate’s destined to return to her rodeo life while searching for her father? Can she really be happy settling down to small town life?

Tina Radcliffe does an exceptional job in her story telling of Kate’s life, her struggles with the past and present as well as her worry of what the future holds for her. It’s a fabulous story of family, life’s road blocks, compassion for our fellow man and love and romance all wrapped in faith – in each other, the future and in God’s unconditional love. THE COWGIRL’S SACRIFICE is a fabulous read for anyone that loves a thought provoking story that shows that most often life isn’t a straight line but often takes detours, going through construction and trials to get to the proper destination that we are destined for. It’s a book of never giving up, leaning on others can be a good thing and woven with a thread of faith reminding us to turn it over in prayer. Love this author’s book, love this series, and loved Kate’s story. It most definitely gets my FIVE STARS!

"Rainbolts know what it's like to be on the outside looking in, and that's why we will never treat others like we were treated."

Oh, how I've loved this Rainbolt family, and now, Kate Rainbolt gets her own story. This rodeo gal, who's never played it safe, is back at Rebel Ranch, and she still feels the need to prove herself to her brothers. Kate has issues from her past, decisions about her future, and her old flame Jess McNally seems to be at the root of them all. Will Kate stay in Rebel, Oklahoma, or will she return to the rodeo circuit? Are the feelings that she and Jess once shared buried forever, or are there embers waiting to burst into flames?

Tina Radcliffe has written a story that appeals to many emotions, and she's created characters that are warm, genuine, and oh, so human. She reminds us that love is the ultimate prize, whether it be love for family or a romantic love that takes your breath away. 'My heroes have always been cowboys', but Radcliffe proves that cowgirls can be heroes also!

If you enjoy contemporary romance and a story filled with faith, do yourself a favor and grab a copy of this book. The Cowgirl's Sacrifice is the perfect way to wrap up the Hearts of Oklahoma series, and Tina Radcliffe demonstrates her fabulous writing talents once again!.

I received a copy of this book from the author. I was never required to write a positive review, and I am voluntarily sharing my own thoughts.

"Wooing takes a whole lot more energy than dating. It's about gaining someone's trust and confidence. Wooing is all about the long haul. It's like preparing the soil and planting, and being willing to wait for what's going to grow because you know it's going to be something special."

Ah, Kate Rainbolt. I've waited a long time for her story and it was totally worth waiting for. She's spunky, feisty, and stubborn yet totally devoted to her family and compassionate. Her physical brokenness after a rodeo accident and her chronic emotional brokenness from her father's abandonment and perceived rejection are tangible, heart-breaking and real. Jess has his own past rejections to wade through and things to prove to himself and others. Their banter is delightful and the way they ease back into their friendship/relationship is a lot of fun. I loved going back to Rebel, Oklahoma to catch up with Kate's older brothers Mitch, Reece, and Tucker as well as meet some new but equally unforgettable characters in Jess' family. I'll miss Rebel Ranch and am so glad I was there to watch all four Rainbolt siblings find new dreams and contentment after all the tears and fears of their past.

I received the book from the publisher/author and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are solely my own.

Tina Radcliffe doesn't disappoint in this sweet, second-chance romance set around rodeos and ranches.
Heroine Kate Rainbolt is injured in a rodeo ring saving a rider from a sure bull stomping. Returning to her family's ranch for a job and recuperation, she runs into former fiance Jess McNally.
Jess isn't only surprised to see Kate again, he is her boss at the ranch due to Kate's delay in returning home.
When old feelings start to surface, will jess and Kate heed their wisdom?
I enjoyed the unique settings in this book and enjoyed Franny as a secondary character. Olive will steal your heart, too.
You won't be disappointed in this Love Inspired romance.

I loved returning to the town of Rebel. It’s such a great little place to escape to when reading the fourth book in the Hearts of Oklahoma novels. Tina does a great job of equally representing forgiveness and love. I really enjoyed reading about Kate and Jess as they were a couple to root for!

Awww the Rainbolts! How I love this sweet sibling crew! I love being back on Rebel Ranch!

I was excited when I found out Kate was getting her own story! A barrel racer turned rodeo clown. I was excited for her story. But she was tough for me to connect with. There was something about her “I don’t need any help. I can do it all alone.” act that got a little tiresome. While I understood her need to leave home 10 years before, I didn’t understand her hesitation to stay and put down roots.

Jess never stopped loving Kate, and while that was sweet I definitely understood Kate’s hurt when she realized he never really started trusting her again once she came home. He had a guard up the whole time and kind of believed the worst of her in some areas. But in the same instant he was showing her how much he cared for her and how well they fit together.

Something about the pacing & the romance felt a little off. They FINALLY communicated with each other, and made steps for a healthy relationship. But it took forever, and I feel like if they had just had a good conversation things would’ve progressed better.

Overall the message of the story was GREAT! There were a lot of wonderful tidbits in there about God loving you, and never leave you, and trusting in Him for all things! He’s the healer of all hurts!

I do love the Rainbolts! And I ADORE the Rebel Ranch crew, and I was glad to be back!

Another heartwarming, emotional read from Tina Radcliffe. Kate Rainbolt was a tough cookie with a tender heart and Jess McNally was the perfect sparring partner. I hate to say goodbye to the Rainbolt clan, but can’t wait to see what Radcliffe has in store next.

THE COWGIRL'S SACRIFICE is about a cowgirl who is at a crossroad in her life and back home to figure things out, and the cowboy she left behind who just might get his second chance at love. It's about family, trust, faith, letting go and romance. An enjoyable read from beginning to end.

There are some stories that you can tell from the beginning that you'll enjoy and this was one of those. I immediately liked the characters and the writing style of the author. I didn't feel like any of the characters fell flat, but were all complex and unique. I loved the way family played a role in this story between Kate and her brothers, and Jess with his mom, sister and niece. You could feel the bonds in these relationships as well as other friendships, and the chemistry between Kate and Jess. I also thought the faith element was woven through well without being too heavy. The ending was especially lovely. It's also not necessary to have read the other books in the series to read and enjoy this one.

My only complaint would be with Kate. I didn't like how she gave Jess a hard time about not trusting her when she kept telling him she was looking at other job options and leaving. It's like she wondered why he would have doubts, doubts that I thought he was justified in having. I think I just wanted her to be a bit more honest and vulnerable instead of putting it on him.

In the end, was it what I wished for? I really enjoyed reading this and now need to read the other books in the series. Definitely recommended to readers who enjoy inspirational romance with great characters, a well-told story, second chances and cowboys and cowgirls.

Kate returns home to Oklahoma for a new beginning after a rodeo injury puts her on the sidelines, but her job puts her working side by side with the man who's heart she broke 10 years ago.

This was a engaging read, I liked Kate from the start, she has a unique job, strong faith, and an independent streak. I admired her compassionate heart, and how she is willing to help others in need. I loved returning to Oklahoma, and seeing familiar faces from the previous books in the series. Though in case you were wondering this book works great as a standalone.

I liked the strong themes of faith, as Kate reconnects with old friends learning more about her family, and reconnecting with Jess. I loved how she helps Jess's niece to be more confident around horses. I adored Jess's mother who has a kind heart, and doesn't hesitate to reach out to others.

Overall, a engaging read about coming home, second chances and letting go, with a likable heroine who is determined and vulnerable, with a heart of gold. I liked the beautiful setting and familiar faces and new friends. A heartwarming and entertaining read, that makes for a fitting conclusion to the series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Two years ago I was first introduced to a new to me author. Tina Radcliffe is now a favorite. I have enjoyed all her books and The Cowgirl's Sacrifice was no different. Kate's journey was natural for a child without a father in her life and something to prove. I was drawn in by Jess's mother's health needs, mostly because this is a big topic in our family. I'm not into handing out spoilers here, you'll have to read this unputdownable book. It is worth your time.
