I loved this heart warming and uplifting Love Inspired Romance. I was drawn to the beautiful cover and the image of the little girl stayed with me as I read the book. I appreciate that the author has kept the town of Whispering Slopes, located in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia as her geographical location for each of her books. All of the characters are likeable and the three main ones drew me into the story from the first page. An unpredictable situation caught our characters unprepared midway through the book but peaked my interest in the story and made it seem more real. The happily ever after ending was just the way I like to see a book end.
Molly Morgan is a single lady in her thirties. She owns and runs the Bound to Please Reads bookstore located in the center of town. Until recently she has been successful and made enough to see a profit and support herself. Molly had even applied for adoption in the hopes of being a single parent. That was before a Mega bookstore opened up in town and the competition is slowly but surely putting her out of businesses. But now her friend and social worker Annie Preston has matched her up with the most adorable little girl named Grace from the foster care system. Will Molly's failing business and financial problems put a stop to the adoption procedures?
Derek McKinney is a handsome and successful business entrepreneur. He owns a chain of coffee shops and now he is opening a shop right next to Molly's book store. The problem is that Derek and Molly share bad feelings from the past. He was the reason Molly's fiancee left her at the alter and walked away never to be heard from again. Derek is the last person she wants advice from on how to save her failing business.
I recommend this book to readers of contemporary romance and Love Inspired books. This book can be read as a stand alone but it would add to your reading experience to read the other books in the series as well.
I received a complimentary Arc copy of A Dream of Family. Thank you. A favorable review was not requested. All opinions expressed here are my own.

I've read most of Jill's Christian romance books (here are my reviews of A Home for her Daughter, A Father for Bella, and A Mother for His Twins). By day, Jill Weatherholt works for the City of Charlotte. At night and weekends, she writes contemporary stories about love, faith and forgiveness for Harlequin Love Inspired. So often, they are what I need in this difficult world. A Dream of Family, which publishes today, June 29, 2021, was exactly that. As Jill always does, this book subtly mixes spirituality with the everyday world, as though faith is a tool in life's toolbox, available to ease life's challenges and solve its problems.

Within the first two pages, I met a young red-headed book store owner named Molly, the hunky owner of the coffee shop next door named Derek, and a rambunctious chocolate shepherd puppy that couldn't be any cuter. Does it get any better? Molly is struggling to keep what had been her dream of a successful bookstore afloat when Derek wanders into her store. She hasn't seen him since he was part of why her fiancée left her at the alter. She and Derek parted on the worst of terms but Molly is desperate to make her store a success, not for the money but because it would mean she can adopt six-year-old girl Grace. When Derek offers his business assistance, Molly accepts even though she has secrets she will never share. But can she trust him if it means getting the family she's always wanted?

Besides being a delightful romance, the book includes great tips on running a business or rejuvenating a flagging one, ideas like checking out the competition and using technology to spread the word.  Plus, there are valuable tips for writers, such as:

"...Don't compare yourself to others. This is your journey and yours alone."

No spoilers on how that blends into the story but it is exciting.

Overall a satisfying read with positive uplifting characters and storylines.

Note: I received an ARC of this book with the agreement that I would share my honest opinions with my reading community.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I was drawn to this story from the time I read the description on the back... I loved Molly and Derick and was rooting for them from the very beginning. I thought that they each had what the other one needed. Little grace won my heart from the very beginning. I shed tears for all that she had to endure as a child. I loved the setting around Molly’s bookstore and I’m a sucker for a happy ending. My heart melted in the end. This book is about redemption and forgiveness and getting through obstacles and realizing that miracles and happiness is possible with God by our side. This book made me feel good inside and was just what I needed. I would love to read more about this darling family. I definitely recommend this book. You will not be disappointed. It will leave you wanting to read everything that this Author has written. Thank you so much for gifting me this book for an exchange of my honest opinion. I loved this wonderful story! The set up was great…the man who ruined Molly’s wedding day two years earlier is now the person she must rely on to help her save her failing bookstore. This provided some great tension between Molly and Derek and showed just how desperate Molly was to save her store.

I loved Molly’s heart for the little girl, Grace. My heart smiled with her for each tiny victory and hurt for her when things weren’t going so well. Molly’s genuine love for Grace and desire to give her a forever family was such a beautiful part of this book.

I loved the way things moved along in Derek and Molly’s partnership. From helping Molly, to becoming friends, to feelings of more developing, it all seemed very natural and made me hope for the best for them. I enjoyed this story from start to finish!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

A DREAM OF FAMILY by Jill Weatherholt is the wonderful inspirational, heart-tugging story of Molly Morgan, Derek McKinney and an adorable little girl named Grace.

Molly survived a childhood that no little girl should have to live through. Through the grace of her adoptive mother, she not only survived but is in the process of achieving two of her goals in life – to own her own bookstore and to adopt a child. After her happily ever after came crashing down by being rejected at the wedding alter and then the death of the mother three days later, her faith and determination have kept her moving forward. With her age and no knight in shining armor on the horizon, she’s decided to adopt a child – a little girl – and spread the joy and love like that given to her so many years ago. Will her faith be shaken as her world seems to tumble when a large chain bookstore endangers her livelihood which in turn may erase the ink on the adoption papers?

At the time of Molly’s impending marriage, Derek was in a rough spot in his life after finding out that all he knew growing up was all a lie. Was his harsh words as the best man to the groom the cause for the wedding not taking place? After overhearing them, Molly definitely holds him responsible. Now a few years later, he’s moved forward thanks to turning to his faith. He moves to Whispering Slopes to expand his coffee business renting a space to opening Insomnia Café with an option to buy. The stickler is that it seems that he would also be buying the property Molly rents for her bookstore, Bound To Please Reads. When a big corporation offers Rusty, the landlord and a friend Molly considers as family, more money to buy the same property for office spaces, will he still seal the deal with Derrick? Can they both find peace with the past to work together to get what they both want?

After reading Grace’s case file, Molly sees that she’s had a very similar life as she once had – being moved from foster home to foster home, taken in not for love but for the money and rejected time and time again. It makes her more determined than ever to do whatever she has to in order to adopt this little girl who she’s fallen so completely in love with – including working with the man that caused her life’s course to drastically change. Can Molly make a connection with Grace showing her she is has value and is very much loved? Derrick’s determination to not get involved soon dissolves as Grace wraps herself around his heart as easily as she wrapped her hand around his finger. By each seeing the whole picture of the past, can each realize that the past may be differently than they once thought? Will one chocolate German shepherd puppy play a big part in healing the past and opening up the future? Can Derrick keep his word that Molly wouldn’t lose her bookstore or the chance to adopt Grace?

Jill Weatherholt masterfully weaves a story within the pages of A DREAM OF FAMILY that will touch your heart, have you pulling for a happily ever after for little Grace and shows you that good things can happen through hard work, determination, prayer and faith. Most definitely a five star book that I whole heartedly recommend to everyone that loves a fabulous story of setting goals, overcoming hardships and forgiveness all woven with a thread of love and faith.

With its warmth and compassion, A Dream of Family refreshes the heart. A perfect book for summer reading!

Whispering Slopes is a delightful town to visit for a bit of relaxing and to get a dose of pure small town friendliness. With the addition of a sweet romance and an even sweeter little girl, this story left me with sighs of happy contentment.

In the past, Molly Morgan had many dreams crushed, and now, just as her heart’s desire of having a family is within reach, she faces losing both her independent bookstore and precious little Grace, the foster child she hopes to adopted.

Successful Derek McKinney opens a branch of his thriving coffee shop business adjacent to Molly’s store. Operating next door to the woman whose wedding day he ruined two years earlier will be a challenge, but his promise to help Molly succeed will also further his plans…..in more ways than either of them expect.

Reading this story of hope….when life is hard and discouraging….is warmly comforting. The characters are touching as they face struggles, but persevere to overcome past situations and learn to forgive. Molly’s feelings of doubt about herself make her believable. And Derek is a great hero, willing to help Molly achieve her dreams. I love small town romance stories where the community cheers for the couple to fall in love and folks offer homestyle wisdom. If you’re looking for a feel-good romance, I highly recommend A Dream of Family!

Favorite quotes: “Don’t ever compare yourself to others. This is your journey, and yours alone. Comparing it with others’ will steal your joy quicker than anything.”

She had to continue to cling to her faith and believe in the impossible—in promises.

I was drawn to read this book from the blurb as Molly wanted to adopt a child. Plus, I’m drawn to tales with foster children and twins. Jill Weatherholt created another heartwarming and touching story with Molly’s strong determination and tenacity and Derek’s personality and business success. When sweet little Grace is introduced in the story my heart melted and broke for this child who had experienced so much in her young life. Molly and Derek had a past but with faith nothing is impossible to overcome.

I appreciate how the author brought in the strong community connections in Whispering Slopes to see success for Molly’s bookstore and Derek’s coffee shop along with some great business tips from Derek’s perspective for struggling businesses and new ones. The gently woven message of faith, trust and God’s grace and mercy isn’t preachy but an added plus to see prayers answered in unbelievable ways. The beautiful ending brought tears to my eyes and reaffirmed life’s difficulties can be turned into miracles with faith in God. Weatherholt is becoming a favorite author with her Love Inspired stories.

Anytime a story is set around saving an independent bookstore from an encroaching large chain I'm all in! And emotionally invested 'cause I've had to sit by and watch a number of wonderful independents close their doors because of big conglomerates over the years.

Love the way Weatherholt sets the scene in the first chapter. Molly verging on despair as she faces the results of declining sales in her once thriving business. Not only is she facing financial ruin, but her dream of adoption might be slipping away as well.

I connected with Molly right from the start and I felt like my world was falling apart too! Instant bibliophile bonding. :-) But, as the story progressed I could see how stuck she was, wallowing in passivity and it takes Derek bursting on to the scene to shake a fighting spark back into her. Ha, and that isn't the only spark he ignites.

But, as is so often the case in fictional romance, it's complicated. Derek and Molly have a history (and no, not that kind of history) but Molly has accumulated a whole lot of bitterness over something that happened in their past. Forgiveness and grace play a central role in this love story. Along with the hope of second chances on so many fronts.

Throw in a gangly pup, a darling little girl looking for a forever family and a small town infused with community spirit and you've got the recipe for a heart-tugging story that's sure to satisfy.

I had planned to save this book for September to read it in one undisturbed sitting (aka after the rush of summer). But once the book arrived, I honestly couldn’t help myself. I’m delighted that I didn’t wait.

Jill’s books are filled with beautiful settings and well-drawn characters. They are always inspiring and uplifting. They are a great contrast to the negativity and ‘sensational news’ that often surround us. They model faith, trust and perseverance, encouraging us to rethink and reframe.

Although this is not my typical reading genre, when Jill releases a new novel, I can’t wait to immerse myself in its pages.

I greatly enjoyed returning to the Shenandoah Valley. A Dream of Family did not disappoint — it was actually one of my favourites. With compelling characters, small-town charm, a bookstore, lots of coffee, snickerdoodles, an adorable puppy and a very satisfying ending — you'll be sure to love it too!

A struggling bookstore, a little girl who will steal your heart, and two people who carry deep hurts make A Dream of Family by Jill Weatherholt a heart-wrenching read. But also, one that ends in hope and happiness.

Molly’s childhood is filled with disappointments and more and now she’s about to lose not one but two dreams for her future—her beloved bookstore and her chance at adopting little Grace. This little girl stole my heart (as she did Molly’s) the moment I met her. And then there’s Derek. The man who had a hand in stealing another of Molly’s dreams two years previous.

Weatherholt gives readers a story of forgiveness, family (both the blood relations and the people who come around you to support you through life) and trusting God’s plan for our lives. My only complaint is that it ended too soon.

A Dream of Family by Jill Weatherholt takes place in the quaint small town of Whispering Springs. It tells the story of Molly Morgan who owns a bookstore that is having financial challenges and Derek McKinney whose successful coffee shop business moves in next door to Molly’s store. Derek and Molly have a complicated relationship that has not gone very well in the past due to both of them having misconceptions of the other. If Molly wants to make her dream of adoption come true she will have to allow Derek to help her with her store.

This is a wonderful book with characters I liked and wanted to invest in. I loved watching the changes in Molly and Derek throughout the story. The fun secondary characters and the small town setting of Whispering Springs made for a great read. You have to love any story that involves a bookstore called Bound to Please Reads!

A Dream of Family by Jill Weatherholt is a sweet story that is all about second chances, forgiveness, and trusting God. Jill is a new to me author, and her books are moving to my must read list! I recommend this sweet story!

Without a doubt this is a feel-good story with likable characters that include an adorable little girl and a puppy. What is not to like? Molly Morgan had a difficult childhood and dreams of having her own family. While her bookstore business struggles the person with ideas to help is someone from her past that she vowed she would never forgive, Derek McKinney. Plus, the little girl she is hoping to adopt, Grace, has attached herself to Derek. What a dilemma! As they spend time together trying to save her business can she learn to forgive Derek and just as important will Derek ultimately be able to forgive his father? You will want to read this one to find out if Molly’s dream of a family does come true!

Thank you in advance to the author, Jill Weatherholt, for providing a complimentary copy of the book. A positive review was not required or requested, all words are my own.

After reading so many LOVE INSPIRED & LOVE INSPIRED SUSPENSE books, you’d think I was ALWAYS a fan of the line.

Actually … yes and no. In 2003, I ended up with about six (6) books from a line called LOVE INSPIRED from Steeple Hill (some of them were published in May).

Today, that line is STILL going, and it is distributed by Harlequin (though I don’t know exactly when it was switched over).

I “re-discovered” the line two (2) years ago (June 2019) and fell head over heels in love with it. And, after winning a LOVE INSPIRED SUSPENSE book from an author (December 2019) – I have found my two favorite lines from Harlequin.

Of course, a subscription to both would almost bankrupt me … well, close enough. So, I try to be a bit sensible when deciding which of the beautiful stories to read. The stories have to stand out and grab me. It’s really a toss-up when they all do.

Anyway …

Having a gift card from Amazon (which is how I usually buy books; more on this in the review), I purchased A Home for Her Daughter by the author, which still remains on the TBR list. But, when asked if I wanted to read this book? I couldn’t say no. So, this is my first introduction to her work.

And, I’m VERY glad I did read this. It was a fantastic introduction. This is a charming and beautiful story with very realistic attitudes and events.

Right off I will state there are mentions of foster-care abuse, drug-addiction (mentioned), and adoption. Those who’ve been through such, or all of them might have some issues with the story. This could be a bit triggering for those who have had adoptions go bad or were ultimately denied.

Adoption stories are ALWAYS the hardest for me to read. While it means a loving family can raise a child, that child has been abandoned or worse by the natural parent. It hurts to see children as orphans. At the same time this is inspiring, hopeful, and beautiful.

As far as being part of a series, while set in the fictional Whispering Slopes, this does act as a standalone read. The characters on the back cover of A Home for Her Daughter didn’t even seem to appear in this story. The reader won’t have to read previous books to know what is going on.

The cover is simply adorable! The folks over at Love Inspired (as well as LIS) do a great job. Naturally, seeing the cover I was very intrigued.

The characters? Definitely a great mix – Derek was the surprise star, to me, of this whole story. Despite being the reason Molly was left at the altar, which has left her jaded towards Derek, he really makes up for his inadvertent mistake. It as almost as if he blames himself.

Molly was, at times, interesting and annoying. It did make sense as to why Grace seemed to gravitate more to Derek and his dog (Duke). Grace doesn’t appear in the book until around page 82, towards the end of chapter six (6). And, it is apparent, this child has been abandoned and hurt – bring on the tissues. I was wondering what her current situation was like as she was “visiting” Molly and not living with her.

Before Molly can adopt Grace, she needs to shore up her store’s sinking finances after a big-box store comes in and does some heavy damage with sales. I do have to admit that I related when it came to delinquent bills along with Molly’s voracious reading appetite. Hence why I do what I do.

Derek is her next-door neighbor and he opens what seems to be the PERFECT companion to her bookstore – a coffee shop. Are you all seeing what I’m seeing? I thought this would make a GREAT partnership.

Molly can’t make her rent. Her landlord is understanding, being a friend of her late mother. Still, he has some options to consider. But, he wants to give both her and Derek a chance to succeed as there is an investor with deep pockets lurking.

Molly isn’t too happy to see Derek, and truth be told – he wishes he’d called her sooner to explain everything. After what he told his friend and her ex-fiancé, Ryan, which led to him leaving Molly.

But, when Rusty (their landlord) tells Derek what is really going on, Derek wastes no time in attempting to help Molly. While Molly is reluctant, it isn’t just her business that she needs to save – she desperately wants to adopt Grace.

Grace’s background is eerily similar to Molly’s. Just as Molly’s adoptive mom saved her, it is now Molly’s time to save Grace. But, after she saves her store. After a breakdown, it is clear – Molly needs Derek and in a way, he needs her.

After analyzing the competition, Derek makes some suggestions and implements them to ensure Molly’s success. However, she still remains worried. This is despite her college “work for credit” employee telling her that her class studied Derek’s success, even getting him to speak at her school.

I loved how he took notes by pen and paper. I do that when reading.

While Molly is fighting her demons from foster care, Derek is fighting his own with his father’s secrets that ruined his family.

Grace and Molly are introduced, but the little girl takes more to Derek’s puppy than Molly. Tensions between Molly and Derek get a little worse when Grace connects with Derek before Molly. Molly sees it as another thing she’s lost to him. And, despite him wanting to talk it out – Molly doesn’t want to hear what he has to say.

As they work together, Molly’s hopes for her business and adoption are dwindling despite Derek’s good intentions and his own optimistic outlook. Molly has issues forgiving Derek who has issues forgiving his father.

But, eventually the two have to learn to let things go if they’re going to succeed. Watching them do it was at times sweet and frustrating. Weatherholt kept the momentum going until the end which I was a bit anxious about as the pages left were dwindling.

This was pretty unputdownable. I actually read half (½) the book during an uninterrupted 2-hour time period. So, it was very easy to read. The short chapters and engaging writing definitely helped the story move along.

The author highlighted and didn’t “candy-coat” the realities of running a business. Particularly a business that has BIG competition.

Weatherholt highlighted what most people (since about 2015) have come to learn – an online presence with a website and social media, is almost essential for a successful business, more so for smaller shops that get little to no exposure outside of pedestrian traffic. She also points out the problem with BIG chain stores, as such Amazon is considered the HUGEST one out there.

At times I’ve gotten my goods through them either because they had a better price or better shipping options. In addition, I’ve often gotten Amazon gift cards through promotions, contests, or rewards.

Worse for people like Molly are used bookstores which buy at 10-20% of the cover price and sell a new book at FULL price, while a heavily used book is 50% of list price. There are also libraries with awesome prices (50¢ paperbacks like this one; $1.00 bigger paperbacks; $2 hardcovers). I have to admit, with that competition, Molly was brave for just going into business for herself.

Derek on the other hand had a commodity that NEVER gets old (and let’s face it – it is more of a consumable) – a coffeehouse. Just look at Starbucks, Dutch Bros, and even The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

On the family aspect – just because a family looks normal, doesn’t mean it is. Molly who’d spent her life in foster care saw Derek’s family as perfect, which it wasn’t. I really wanted to see Molly and Derek talk their tension out a lot sooner so they could move on.

I loved the line on page 18 – “Getting her to accept his help would be about as easy as giving a cat a bath”.

I also love the idea of a Snickerdoodle Coffee. I’d definitely like that! And, I have to admit the resolution was definitely something I saw coming and seemed like it made a great business venture.

This was definitely one of the more frustratingly realistic, tearfully hopeful, and beautifully uplifting Love Inspired books I’ve read. I love how many messages the author packed into this book without being overwhelming. Some of them were more implied than a direct statement.

Fans of the author, those who enjoy the Love Inspired books, as well as those who’ve read the previous books in this “series” are sure to love this book as well. I know I would love to read the author’s previous books.

As this is a Love Inspired book, it will have some lighter themes of faith and references to God.

📖📚MY REVIEW 📚📖

Jill Weatherholt has captured my heart yet again with A Dream of Family .Thank you for bringing real life problems to your stories.
I just loved Molly's and Derek's story. I loved every second of the hurdles they overcame, their individual growth and their truly beautiful love story . I couldn't get enough of these characters. And their journey to their happily ever after couldn't have been more fun. This book gives you all the feels. I love how this Author writes, and the fact she always gives you Characters you just love. You just know these two were made for each other and it's so fun to watch as they figure that out, too! The whole story was extremely realistic and made the book a very interesting read . I can't telling myself just one more chapter but then i had to keep reading to see what was going to happen with the book store and Grace. I started and finished this story during a long miserable day of doctor's appointments .This story hit home with the abuse some kids suffer before finding a loving forever home. I know all to well the struggles little Grace will go through and the things she will have to overcome. Molly and Derek make the perfect parents for her. Both are patient and understanding . Duke which is Derek's rescue dog will also play a big role in her recovery. All the chapters with Duke in them always made me smile. Can't wait to read the other books by this author. If you have not read anything by this author i think this would make a wonderful introduction of her work. I look forward to reading many more of her great stories. If you are looking for a good sweet story with characters you care about, this is the book for you. By the time the story ended I wanted more. This book made me laugh and smile. Which is something i very much need . And as with any book you read PLEASE leave the author a REVIEW. Reviews are very important to authors and is what keeps them writing.
I just want to say Thank you to author for the opportunity to read this 5 star story . I truly appreciate it!

A Dream of Family is a sweet, comforting story. Molly Morgan is a young woman trying to salvage her bookstore in the quaint town of Whispering Slopes and desperate to adopt a little girl named Grace. Derek McKinney is a successful business man who comes to Whispering Slopes to extend his coffeehouse franchise. He and Molly have crossed paths before, and Molly blames Derek for the unhappy turn her life took just a few years previous. Derek's excuse for what he did is a secret that he struggles to share. Can they bridge their troubled past to help Molly realize her dream of having a family?

Of course they can. That's the kind of romance novel this is. How they overcome events of the past to save Molly's business is the story here. How they work together to ensure that Grace will have a permanent, happy home is also the story here. I read A Dream of Family believing I knew how it would end, and I am happy to say I was right!

Jill is a deft writer, carefully detailing her characters until they get up and start walking around in your head. With Whispering Slopes, she creates a small town that anyone would want to live in, full of kind, sensible, and patient people. Where Molly and Derek are concerned, patience is definitely needed. Everyone else in Whispering Slopes feels the chemistry between the two of them, but patience is required by both reader and townspeople as Derek and Molly figure it out for themselves.

Faith is a value that Molly, Derek and even little Grace share. While I don't share their faith, I know people who do. I know people for whom faith is the guiding light in their lives. I appreciate that faith is part of this story and why it makes reading A Dream of Family a comforting experience.

I recommend Jill Weatherholt's A Dream of Family for anyone who wants to escape into a world where love, faith and forgiveness is abundant.

LOVE Inspired books are a wonderful book series. I always enjoying reading books published by LOVE Inspired and the various authors who write them. A Dream of Family by Jill Weatherholt is the most recent book in the series that I had the pleasure of reading.

Molly Morgan has always dreamed of being a parent. She is single woman who runs a Bookstore. She has recently started the adoption process after meeting a little girl named Grace. Grace and Molly clicked upon first meeting one another. Molly's business takes a downfall when a larger Bookstore opens nearby. The loss of income jeopardizes the adoption. Derek McKinney is someone who Molly knows very well. He has a puppy that Grace realy wants. He is also a successful Businessman. He wants to help Molly and Grace become a family. The only thing hindering this is the fact that he and Molly have a troubled past. Molly and Derek must make amends and forgive the past. Can Molly and Derek move forward in life and can forgiveness happen? Will Molly and Grace become a family? How does Derek help the Dream Family happen?

I enjoyed this book from the first few pages and couldn't put it down until I finished it. There was so much going on in this short book, it was a definite page turner. I really like that Molly and Derek worked together to help get Grace a family. The fact that they were able to overcome their past and help Dreams come true was outstanding. I LOVE Bookstores, so it made me joyful that the main character owned a Bookstore. The theme of Adoption, creating a family, and forgiveness were all very well written. A WONDERFUL Storyline and BOOK!

What would you do to make your dreams come true? This was a sweet story about a woman named Molly whose life has not been the kindest to her. Being abandoned as a baby and moving from foster home to foster home (some not very good), and then being left at the altar on her wedding day. She has moved on and is now a proud owner of a little bookstore that is going under due to a big box store. And her dream of adoption is also slipping away due to her financial situation.

In steps the most unlikely hero Molly could ever even envision. A blast from her past, the best man to her ex fiancé who may have started the prodding that left her heart broken and unhappily ever after.

Derek has quite a family history of his own. And though Molly has never forgiven him, Derek is also dealing with some unforgiveness himself. Now how can he show Molly she is worth it and he wants to make her dreams come true?

Throw in Grace a little girl who is desperately in need of a good family and a safe home and you have the makings of a story that is both sweet and heartwarming. I enjoyed watching Derek pursue Molly, first to help her and Grace, then out of his love for her. And the ending was just perfect.

I received a copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

When I think about Love Inspired, A Dream of Family is just the type of story I think of. It's like a warm cup of cocoa disguised as a book... a Hallmark story in written word... a story that when you finish reading reading it, you will truly walk away feeling lighter and inspired. Like I said, A Dream of Family certainly is all of that.

Derek is perhaps the ideal book boyfriend, a knight and shining armor who came into save the day for Molly, despite her reluctance to welcome him into her life. Now, I realize that these days not all readers enjoy that type of story where the hero comes in and saves the day... and there are plenty of books for those readers to enjoy. Personally, I enjoyed the sweet romance and found it to be a really enjoyable read. Perhaps a little predictable at times, sure... but I didn't mind it one bit. It was well written, and I especially enjoyed the sweet character of Grace and getting to see how all of these fantastic characters might get their dream of having a family be met.

I will say that there were parts of the story that I perhaps would have liked to seen expanded upon a little bit more, but overall, I enjoyed the story and found myself walking away from the final pages smiling. If you enjoy a cute inspirational romance, this is a quick read worth checking out.

**I received a complimentary copy of this book for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

I enjoy Jill Weatherholt’s books so much. Her latest novel, A Dream of Family, drew me right in. I empathized with Molly Morgan because there were times growing up when I felt books saved my life too.

Now grown and owner of an independent bookstore, Molly is struggling to stay afloat after a big-name competitor moves in close to her little store. The last thing she needs is Derek McKinney, the person who caused her fiancé to leave her at the altar, walking through the door of her bookstore.

Weatherholt blends together faith, hope, forgiveness and romance into a story of second chances and redemption. Creativity abounds with concepts on how to adopt business ideas for the bookstore to draw in more customers and increase sales.

Navigating her new normal isn’t easy for Molly, and she doesn’t make it easy for Derek, either. However, if they both stay true to their faith things will work out fine.

I received A Dream of Family from Celebrate Lit. However, my review is voluntary.

This was a very pleasant read. Nothing earth-shattering, but Love Inspired isn't known for that. LI is just inspirational Hallmark movies in book form. One thing though: I've read several LI books, both recently and ages ago, by many different authors. Is it like required that the main character has to be not only married but also pregnant by the epilogue? It kinda feels like it. (No criticism of the authors! Most of the time it wasn't weirdly tossed in, like, "yay, we're so happy, and guess what? we're pregnant!" (Sorry to Ms. Weatherholt for my rant here...!)

Back to this book. It was a very nice read, reasonably plausible which I greatly appreciate. I'd have liked to have the reconciliation that occurs happen on the page and not how it shook out, but it was okay. Overall, I would recommend this book if you like the light, Hallmark-y reads.

We all need to read a story that shows that the dark does not have to win, and in fact, with faith, hope, strength, and belief in a stronger power around us, our dreams can come true. This may sound trite, but many authors can not pull off a story that combines immense sadness (foster care, child abuse, broken love, financial loss) in a sweet small town in which the inhabitants support each other and look for what's best for the townspeople, not their wallets. A story in which two people who have tried to avoid each other because of hurt and disappointment and guilt, find themselves together, able to pull apart the dark and find lightness within and around them so that loss becomes gain, and dislike becomes love. Family wins overall. Jill Weatherholt is the kind of author who writes it all realistically and beautifully, and it works. Your heart grows as the story enfolds.

Always a delight to read this author’s books

Hope. Faith. Perseverance. When something - or someone - means the world to you, never give up hope. Of all the virtues one can amass, hope should never run out.

Molly, Grace, and Derek represent you and me. Disappointments in life can taint our outlook and kill our spirit, but more often than not, believing that a new day can bring better beginnings just might convince us that all is not lost after all.

I love that this author didn’t create infallible characters, rather, she made all of us readers see the humanness in them, allowing us to readily relate to how normal people tend to react when life gets lifey.

I read this book in just a few sittings. I bet the same will be the case for you. Enjoy!

Dreams do come through and it did for little Grace and Molly.

Molly's dreams were to have a bookshop up and running and Grace's was to have a family.

The author wove a nice story around the lives Molly, Grace and Derek in their little picturesque town.
I admired the lengths Derek went for Molly and Grace. His faith and business sense was admirable.

I felt the story was dragged but overall it was a good one filled with love, restoration and second chances.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

A sweet and heartwarming story of family, love, and faith. When all seems lost and dreams may come to an end, Molly must learn to trust and have faith. I felt each emotion of the characters. I enjoyed this story very much. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required.

I am always amazed at how certain books can just pull you in from the first page. This beautiful story had me from the start. It speaks to your heart and you feel the heartbreak and sorrow with the characters.

A definite must read!

I really enjoyed this clean, sweet romance. I bought this at a local Goodwill store and I've given it a 5* rating. I was pulled in pretty fast on this romance. It has children, a puppy, and a lot of nice characters. It has a feel good ending. I really enjoy this author.
