This cute book has a different poem on each page celebrating Christmas traditions and wintery activities. Depending on where you are in the world, you can go sledding in the snow or sun bathe at the beach. No matter what language you speak, "Pere Noel" or "Sinterklaus" or "Kanakaloka" is sure to come down the chimney with toys and gifts.

This book is packed with good food, Christmas trees, gingerbread houses, ugly Christmas sweaters, carols, twinkle lights, and warm cups of cocoa. Santa and his elves are working hard to be prepared for Christmas Day! There is even a page of stickers at the back of the book!

I loved the cute illustrations! Every page is full of Christmas magic and smiling faces. (Except the one page about fruitcake where a little girl is not smiling. Haha!)

The poetry is really good! And I am picky about poetry, so when I say it is good... it is really enjoyable and well-written! I was laughing and chuckling for several of the funny poems. This is such a heart-warming book!

After opening the mail, T wanted to know if he could look at Christmas, Here I Come! Of course! As he read, he commented to me that Santa Claus has other names (like Kris Kringle), asked what snickerdoodles were, laughed about the warning against fruitcake consumption, and expressed astonishment at the gingerbread skyscraper – "Wow, their mom must be really talented!"Afterwards, I asked what he thought of "the Christmas poetry book." His response was, "It's not just poems. Bobby also writes three letters to Santa. It's pretty good. There are stickers in the back! And there's a First Grade, Here I Come! and a Hanukkah, Here I Come! book!"

We have two Shel Silverstein collections of poetry, but they don't get read much. T seemed pretty into Christmas, Here I Come! I attribute that to how comfortable holding the book is, how bright and fun the illustrations are, and the fact that the short poems rhyme. I don't know where he got the idea that poems should use rhyme, but he has expressed a preference for rhyming poetry. I also read this aloud; it is mostly iambic pentameter and true rhymes, making for a smooth read-aloud with no stumbling blocks. I still cannot forgive the author who shall remain nameless who tried to rhyme "loose" with "choose" several years ago in a Curious George book.

Christmas, Here I Come! is a festive, secular offering and seems like it would make a nice little stocking stuffer or pre-Christmas read. T clearly enjoyed it this week!

Christmas, Here I Come is the perfect book to fill your Little One's days leading up to the most wonderful time of the year!

This festive little book is full of fun poems about Christmas traditions such as choosing the perfect tree, decorating gingerbread houses, writing letters to Santa, and more! There are fun lists with great ideas of things to make or do this time of year and there's even a wonderful poem about what children around the world call Santa Clause!

The illustrations are wonderfully festive but also have a very cozy feel that makes this Winter-based book perfect for cold days stuck inside.
To top it all off, there's a sheet of cute stickers in the same illustration style at the end of the book that makes this poetic picture book a great gift!

Many, many thanks to Grosset & Dunlap for the review copy of this book! My 6yo loved it and the stickers!

A new addition to the HERE I COME! series includes a Christmas book celebrating all the best things about Christmas. Steinberg is known for his collection of funny poems in his series and his newest Christmas book won’t disappoint fans of his other books.

One family can’t choose a Christmas tree, other poems feature the joy of all the holiday baking and goodies or the wish for sun or snow at Christmas time. The poems are short and the illustrations are fun and point out the frustration of a dad waiting for his family to choose a tree or the joy of a child donating a book or the confusion of a much-too-large Christmas sweater.

The poems start out with the excitement leading up to Christmas and end with everything kids love about Christmas Day including running out to see what is under the tree and all the delicious food on the table.

Introducing kids early to poems and different rhyming schemes is essential to their reading success. Kids will also appreciate the stickers at the end of the book. Be sure to check out all the books in this HERE I COME! series.

We're always on the lookout for new Christmas books over here. This book is a compilation of fun rhymes for children. Gingerbread, elves, Santa, and presents are common themes throughout this book.

However, while my kids and I enjoyed reading this book together, I don't think we would have gone through the entire thing without the fun illustrations.

This is a decidedly secular Christmas book for children. There is absolutely no mention of the religious foundation that underlies the real meaning of Christmas. A small, budget friendly, little book of fun for leading up to the Christmas holidays. Kiddies will love the page of stickers in the back. A real buy at $5.99 for a paperback copy.

I received a complimentary copy to facilitate a review. Opinions are mine, and freely given.

This book takes us through preparations for Christmas and letters to Santa along with the cutest rhymes. My daughter loves hearing the silly rhyming words throughout the story and we try and guess what it might say based off the rhymes. The illustrations are absolutely amazing and compliment the story perfectly. It's the perfect book to read with your kiddos before bed or as you sit by the Christmas tree!
