An absolutely amazing story, so much so that I've read it twice! The characters are so relatable that you easily fall in love with Maggie, Jake and the rest of the gang.

Ellie has captured this romance perfectly, balancing it with humour and sadness, without it being clichéd. Romance aside, the love between the characters also shines through, it makes you wish James was your older brother and Laura was your best friend!

You absolutely need this book in your life 😍 ❤ 😍 xx

I first read Love & London last year and was so excited when it was announced that it was getting a steamy update. I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to read it before it is re-released.

I absolutely adore this book and I enjoyed reading it even more this time around. The added steamy scenes are the cherry on top of an incredible romance!

It's such a well written book with realistic, loveable characters. Maggie has such a great, supportive group of friends.
I'm not someone to usually fancy a fictional character, but you can't not fall in love with Jake!

I had all the emotions reading this. It made smile throughout but there are also some emotional scenes which really pull on your heartstrings.

I didn't want to stop reading and was sad to get to the end, as I just wanted more about Maggie and Jake. However, the last chapter is perfect and ties everything together so beautifully.

Thank you again to Ellie White for allowing me to read and review Love & London.
I'm so looking forward to Love in the Wings which will be out next year!

This was such a lovely read. I loved it from the beginning, and as I couldn't put it down, read it within 24hours.
The characters were so well written, and realistic, I adored them all.

It was heartwarming and both made me laugh, and brought me close to tears.

The last chapter was perfect, a great end to a wonderful story.
I can't wait to read more by Ellie White

A romance that will have you willing the characters to be together from the start.

Wow! What a brilliant debut by White. I was lucky enough to read an arc copy of this book and found it utterly enchanting. It'll make you cry and give you butterflies all in one chapter (and boy, will Jake give you butterflies!). It was a brilliant touching story that dealt with grief and loss as well as exploring a relationship between two people who appeared perfect for each other. Absolutely loved getting to know Maggie, Jake and all of their friends. Can't wait to see more of them!

This book was such a lovely romance novel; the characters were all so amazing. I always find that some of the background characters don’t stand out too much but in this book they were all stunning! They all unified so nicely with each other creating such a beautiful dynamic of family and friendship.

I cried; this book tells the story of a young woman whose new husband passed away after an accident only 6 months after their wedding. The pain, guilt and grief was something that made her feel as if she could never love again but this book presented that you most certainly could without forgetting either.

Ellie told me that she’s fallen in love with her beautiful character Jake and I can totally see why. He expresses care, love and patience like no other and it is honestly one of the most significant parts of this book!

Another thing I would like to focus on is the intense atmosphere between Jake and Maggie. I was gripped to the build up that white creates and I was getting so frustrated with the characters!! It’s very much a pretend you don’t have feelings but in reality you so kind of thing and that neither could tell each other because they were too afraid of what the other might think! So frustrating but it really added to the development of the story because without it you would not be as hooked to these characters and storyline!

I very eagerly awaited this book for quite a while before it was released and then I very luckily won a copy for my Kindle, in a competition that was run by the author.
This was a beautifully written story by a very talented debut author.
The characters were down to earth and I easily related to them. In fact, in the end I felt like they were actually real people and were part of my friend circle!!
All the way through I was willing Maggie and Jake to please get a move on and get together!!
The story had just the right amount of sadness, romance and humour to make it the perfect mix - and I loved it!!
I’ve loved going on this wonderful journey with Maggie and Jake and if this is the debut from a new author then I absolutely cannot wait to read more from her soon!

This book was the book I didn't know I needed to read. I have loved being emerged into Maggie and Jake's world, Ellie has a way of making you feel like you are there in real life which is what you want from a book to escape.
I have not been able to put the book down since I got it and also did not want it to end. I have laughed out loud (scared my husband a little and spat out my drink!), Cried (something a book has never made me do), and cheered Maggie on during her story.
Also I am a little bit in love with Jake Mills!
I am so excited for Ellie's next book!!!

I read Love & London within 24 hours. It was addictive and I was rooting for the main characters. A relatable, engaging, easy read. This is the type of feel good book to take on holiday or to read over a relaxed weekend. Great writing by Ellie and I look forward to future releases.

A beautifully written story all about finding love after loss. The characters were well written, relatable and realistic. The plot was lovely, heartbreaking in places, lots of laugh out loud moments, but just an overall feel good story. I wants me a Jake, and I want to spend time with the inner circle at the George. I absolutely loved the relationship blossom, it gave me butterflies throughout, I was rooting for the couple all the way through. It’s one of those books that makes you feel warm and cuddly, and I couldn’t help but smile! There was lots of “KISS HIM YOU FOOL” moments... I think I actually screamed this out loud at one point 😂 and there are some tear jerker moments so make sure you have your tissues at the ready! A fab first novel from Ellie White, I’m so glad our mutual love of candles introduced us to one another and I discovered her wonderful book! It’ll definitely be a re-read for me any time I need cheering up ❤️ and thank you lovely for bringing Jake into my life 😘

I just loved this book thoroughly. It made me emotional, sad, happy, and excited as well. Jake has been amazing all the time and Maggie can be relatable in many ways to any girl reading this story. I also loved other characters Philip, James, Laura, Helen.

This story will make you forget everything once you dive into it. I enjoyed Jake and Maggie's chemistry as friends and lovers both. Jake is already my new book boyfriend. I mean, wow, they were so good together. When your love is your best friend, it feels just perfect. And Jake is so loving, caring, understanding, passionate, emotional, a good cook, handsome. What else would a girl need in her partner! I just love Jake. And Maggie totally deserve him.

Maggie lost her love, Philip, in an accident eight years ago and since then she has blocked everything in her life, friends, family, parties, vacation, everything. She has kept herself busy in her dad's company. But when her dad and his partner declared their retirement giving the responsibilities to her and Jake, Maggie's life changed. Jake had been her best friend in teens but then he disappeared suddenly. Now, as a business partner, Maggie has to deal with her ex best friend now turned a stranger.

I don't want to give away much about the story as it will reduce its excitement. But trust me, if you like enemies to lovers stories, this is definitely your type.

‘Love & London’ is one of those books that is great to wind-down between reading heavier books. The characters were fun, the story was easy to follow, and all of the bigger moments were entertaining! I definitely did get such a big fanfiction vibe from it - I’m not his friend but OH NO now we have to work together in the same office 🙈 and all of the classic fanfic techniques included

One part which I didn’t like - bit of a SPOILER so skip ahead if you’d like! - was Jake sat in his car and watching Maggie get home from a date 😒 a bit creepy for my liking, and wasn’t really brought up properly again other than “oh I should ask why he did that” (she didn’t)...

I did expect Maggie and Jake to be bigger enemies than they actually were, and probably would’ve loved that kind of tension a little bit more, but their interactions and bond was still very sweet!

As soon as I read about Love, Actually in the first chapter, you know I’m in. Ellie White is a new to me author, and the opportunity to take part in a blog tour for Love & London was too good to pass up … and for good reason.
This heart-warming romance will have you hooked from the first page. It’s a story of love, loss, and personal growth as Maggie takes on the world after the loss of her husband. If that alone isn’t enough to make you tear up, well … I don’t know what to tell you.
When she’s tasked with working with Jake (hello new book boyfriend), sparks fly. Well-written characters jump from the page; I dare you not to love Maggie & Jake’s family and friends. The snipey banter between our two leads is to die for and, in between that, there are some truly gorgeous (if not a little heartbreaking – sob!) moments.
After such a long non-fiction binge, I’m so glad that this was my fiction pick for the week. 4 glorious stars. Can’t wait to read more from Ellie White.

And then they go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like "I'm pregnant" 👎

Overall this was a cute read but oh so tedious and repetitive. Easily could have been 100 pages shorter and none of the story would have been lost.

Love and London is a warm, cosy and light rom-com. It was right up my street and I loved it from the very first page 🌸 💫

Twenty-something year old Maggie is a widow, still struggling with the death of her husband Phillip. When her Dad and his business partner decide to take an early retirement, Maggie and Jake are thrown together to run their fathers’ business. Jake is handsome yet egotistical and was one of Maggie’s besties once upon a time. That is, before he became a shithead (quote of the book btw🙌🏻😂).

As Maggie and Jake get used to working with one another, they strike up a deal. Jake keeps his sex-capades on the downlow, and Maggie has dinner with him once a week so he can prove to her that he isn’t as bad as he seems.

As Maggie and Jake quickly become friends, Maggie decides it’s time to dip her toe into the world of dating once more. I absolutely loved the string of Maggie’s disastrous dates - they had me in stitches! My particular favourite was the third date with the man from hell in the pub from hell🤣🤣 but luckily a knight in shining armour came to Maggie’s rescue ❤️

The book followed Maggie and Jake’s blossoming relationship. Even though the “Will they, won’t they?” aspect was more infuriating than Ross and Rachel in FRIENDS, I wanted nothing more than for them to get together 💝 I also think I’m a little bit in love with Jake Mills 🤩🤩

My favourite part of the book was probably the ending, it was PERFECT 🙌🏻🤍 The final chapter had a lovely little twist to it as well.

If you haven’t read Love and London yet, then why not?!?! 😂 It’s a gorgeous read that I finished in less than 24 hours. It felt like Maggie and her pals were my pals too, and I genuinely feel sad that the book has ended 😂 I can only hope that there will be a sequel 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 (which could be very easily done Ellie, hint hint 😝) Well done gal💗💗

⭐️ 5/5 ⭐

Love And London by Ellie White

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)

Firstly, thank you @ellie…. For the e-arc of the republished edition of Love and London. My review is honest.

R E V I E W

Wow!! I loved this. What an emotional rollercoaster. A beautiful, cheesy, heartbreaking rollercoaster.

White has written a fantastic novel (and this edition included extra smut) with loveable characters. I’m not normally a fan of the friends to lovers trope but I loved it!

Jake is a new book boyfriend favourite of mine - who doesn’t want to be taken on a picnic in London!?

Pick this up if you need a romcom that will tear at your heart.

Thank you Ellie!!

You HAVE to read this book!

This book has stolen my heart - I’ve forgotten all the other books and boys I fell in love with because I’m now obsessed with this one. I would pack up my worldly belongings now to run away with Jake - swoon is not the word.

The slow burn in this is beautiful, I had to keep reading as I desperately waited for that first kiss. The emotional roller coaster around the grief is very real and tugged at my heart strings.

The friendship group are lovely and so reminded me of my early twenties and happy Friday nights in the pub - sadly I didn’t have a Jake flirting with me!

The dialogue is natural and made me smile with the banter and quips between the friends. The flirting is divine! The characters are adorable.

Literally one of my favourite ever reads! I read it on my kindle but I’m going to need a paperback to keep!

And I have a book hangover now … I can’t start anything else while I’m feeling so in love with this one.

Just gonna make a coffee and think about Jake some more …

Arrrrw Maggie and Jake!
I love them both so much.

Maggie is a hard-working, driven and no-nonsense heroine who tragically lost her husband soon after their wedding. The story picks up several years later, and the details of the accident are gradually revealed.

Jake is her co-worker, a long-term friend of the family, but also a bad boy pain in the backside. Even more so when they both get thrown together by being handed their father's company to run as partners.
Only... Jake's not always so bad... :-p

As more details are revealed, the pair get closer, and it turns out that there's a reason why Jake has been so distant all these years.

The pair were great together, and Ellie does a fantastic job of keeping us hanging on the tension for as long as possible. I felt like dancing when they got together!

And oh... her husband's letter at the end!?! Get the tissues ready folks, because this book will make you happy/sad cry all at the same time.

A fantastic debut and I look forward to her next book, Love In The Wings

Don’t you love it when you pick a book up and can’t put it down again? This is what happened with this book!

Maggie and Jake are old family friends who no longer speak, however, when they both inherit their father's company and are forced to work out of the same office old feelings resurface. Leaving you to wonder why they didn’t speak for eight years.

Ellie has managed to create such a lovely relationship between these two characters, the office setting gave me major Hating Game vibes which I loved! I really enjoyed the wider relationships in the book as well, Ellie has created a gang of friends that the reader won’t forget about throughout the book which is no easy task!

I really enjoyed this and would definitely recommend it if you’re a fan of romcoms! I would love a sequel exploring some of the other characters relationships!

Love and London ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Once this dropped in my inbox I knew I was going to devour it in 24 hours, I stayed up late night reading, becoming so invested with these characters that I felt like they were people I knew!

What can I say… Jake!! Chefs kiss, grumpy but oh so fit! We need more male leads like Jake 🔥

Maggie will forever be one of my favourite female leads, she just makes this story! 💕

Through the laughter and crying comes a beautiful love story with some spicy scenes and the most perfect couple. If only I could erase the memory and read it all over again!

Well done @ for the fabulous book, so happy to have been a part of the re-release, so of course I had to add a signed paperback to my ever growing bookcase!

Love Love Love 💕 Be sure to pick up a hard copy or e book and fall in love with these characters too!

I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down. I was desperate to see how it ended but at the same time, I didn't want it to end.
Its a heart warming and funny, will they/won't they romance that will have you turning the pages as fast as you can to see what happens.
The characters are brilliant and you feel like you want to be a part of their group. Ahh and Jake! I love him.
The story feels so real and it deals with grief and loss, friendships, relationships and families. There are some sad, lump in the throat moments but also some fab laugh out loud parts that are just brilliant.
A brilliant 5 star read for me and I look forward to reading more from Ellie in the future.

Could not put this down!

Well done to a fellow Mackem lass on achieving so much!

Absolutely loved this story! It wasn’t just a case of “girl meets boy” and they live happily ever after. There was different dimensions and he author captured the different character’s emotions perfectly.

As soon as I started reading, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down.

Looking forward to the next one!

This is a perfect example of the friends to lovers trope and the chemistry between Maggie and Jake is undeniable. Maggie's family is hilarious and her dating experiences are disastrous. Jake's character reform for Maggie is endearing and is completely in sync for the trope. Overall Love & London is a real page turner, making you hope and pray everything works out for them.
