Just finished the audiobook which was very informative and easy to listen to (the author read it). I’ve got the hard copy and will be looking through that for all the sources she mentions throughout the book

“Choosing to vaccinate and choosing not to vaccinate both carry co sequences, and they must be weighed by individual families, in light of the information available about risks and benefits.” Amen!
I might add in light of what the Church teaches as well. Pamela Acker does a formidable job disseminating current available information and research on vaccines from a scientific and a Catholic perspective. This book is one every household should have on hand as a resource in making the decisions regarding g particular vaccines for their family. Copious notes and citations accompany this work.

Read on Scribd several years ago but never added to my read books. Found it again to re-read as I enroll my youngest in Kindergarten.

This book was fascinating. A great introduction to the ethics of vaccines and the moral questions surrounding them. It's a short read, and the language used is for people with no background in medicine or biology.

There's less in here about Covid than I would have liked, but it was published before the vaccines were approved so that's not unexpected. Still, it gives food for thought and has an impressive bibliography that I intend to read my way through.

A very good and thorough investigation into both sides of the vaccine debate! I would highly recommend anyone to read it, especially any new or to-be parent who is thinking of getting their child vaccinated. It provides one with a solid, scientific background to make an educated decision on whether or not to vaccinate yourself or your child.

First I’m not a Catholic but I’ve heard so many good things about this book and Pamela’s research. Notwithstanding my lack of knowledge in the medical field, was pleasantly surprised how much I learned about our immune systems and as well, how little we actually do know about that system. The alarming correlation between cancer & vaccinations as well as autism was another big reason I wanted to read this book. Although it’s only 83 pages, put your thinking caps on cause it’s a difficult read but you will come away feeling a little different bout the controversial practice of vaccination.

This book gives an easy-to-understand, succinct, yet still scientific and informative, explanation of how vaccines work in general. The risks are clearly outlined with appropriate background information for how we got to this point. This was not an anti-vax rhetoric, but a genuinely inquisitive and prudent look at an important topic. It’s crucial to test all things in the light of faith and reason, and to always ask first how God intended His Creation to function before we rush in to intervene.

A great explanation of a complex topic. The book was started a year before the COVID outbreak and really presents some excellent medical/research data and ethical issues surrounding vaccination development and their end-use. Highly recommended.

Wow, what a book! I wasn't sure about reading this at first, but I'm so glad a friend gave it to me and insisted on it. Everyone should read this book, whether Catholic, atheist, or whatever. The "Catholic Perspective" part of the title must mean "catholic" in its definition as "universal" because this is a fully comprehensive look at all aspects of vaccination (as the description says): history, science, and morality (including both Catholic-specific moral issues and general ethics that most people would care about, like efficacy vs risk analysis and informed consent).

Right away I was impressed by the incredible amount of sourcing and lack of typos. I usually find lots of typos in anything I read these days (sometimes important enough that the information is indiscernible). But I think in the whole book I only noticed two, one very minor that had no impact on content, and one blank field in a data table, that again probably would not have changed the illustration much, if at all.

And there is a footnote for almost every claim made, sometimes even when I would have found common sense or logic to be enough of a source for the connection or conclusion. Some pages have as much footnoting as actual text.

She also did an excellent job of packing as much information into as small a package as possible while also making it extremely readable even to a layman like me. (That's probably why there are so few typos; this work must have been edited, and edited, and edited like crazy to reach this level of quality.

The weird cover design is unfortunate, but if you can get past the cover, even just as far as the table of contents, I'm sure something will pique your interest, as there are many compelling sections, some descriptions of which you probably never would have thought could be an issue.

I never really questioned vaccines before. From the small amount I'd been told about them, I suppose the picture I had in my mind was weakened viruses in some kind of saline or such harmless solution, and maybe some trace amounts of harmless chemicals that are known to be safe. Turns out that basically every part of that assumption is wrong.

I'm probably going to have a copy sent to everyone I have an address for and buy a bunch of copies just to have on hand and give to people who I come across that might be interested in the topic at all.

Can't recommend this book highly enough, especially for anyone who has, wants to have, is related to, or knows, any children. 😬💉😯

This is an excellent source to have on hand as it is easy for someone outside of the medical profession to understand and it backed with copious references. Many topics of the vaccine picture are covered, each digestible yet thorough.

The inherently wrong information in this book from supposed scientist is appalling. Spreading non factual information that harms others. Where as there is legitimatelly nothing wrong with vaccines in the bibles.
