I loved him. I lost him. And now he’s back.

August Monreaux was a stormy sea of a man, the dark between the stars, an electric chill cutting through a crowded room—all wrapped into one wicked, beautiful package.

He was also off-limits.

My entire life, I was kept a safe distance from the notoriously virulent Monreauxs, banned from so much as breathing the same air. And like

... Two different worlds, one romance.

My feelings when I finished this one? I was mad, sad, and disappointed!

Note: This is an enemies to lovers, forbidden romance.

I can't begin to tell you how I so much loved the first half of the story. Especially the bond between the hero and heroine. But when the hero changed his role from an enemy to a friend, it totally went downhill.

August and Sheridan's family were mortal enemies. August has plans. Things that would destroy Sheridan. I expect

Sheridan is nothing more than a pretty little pawn. A means to an end. A heart I intend to shatter into a million jagged pieces. I won’t hurt her physically.
Frankly, that isn’t my style. But I will ruin her.
I’ll ruin her for any other man.

The second I read this blurb, I was salivating for this book. SALIVATING. I'm a sucker for a second chance romance and this one sounded utterly delicious. Admittedly, the blurb is deceiving. Because it wasn't quite that. And while I did enj

AHHHH! Winter Renshaw just delivered an amazingggg Enemies to Lovers story that I could not get enough of. August and Sheridan's chemistry was FIRE! I loved their connection and how drawn they were to one another. This book was enemies to lovers gold!!

Anyone that knows me knows that enemies to lovers is the reason I read romance. I die for this trope and can not get enough of it. Enemy Dearest was absolutely incredible!! I fell in love with the biting banter between August and Sheridan and the f

Outstanding and wonderful... One hot summer night Sheridan decides to go swimming in a pool except its not her pool. Tattoos long hair beautiful eyes. Bad boy all the way. He tells her to get .she jumps over the fence. Then August wants to ruin Sheridan. He follows her . next he's in love. Th

I like August’s and Sheridan’s story. For me though, it felt more like a forbidden/revenge book.

This felt like Romeo and Juliet 2021 as their families hate each other, hence it felt more forbidden. On the surface they appear to be enemies, but it wasn’t intense enough to be that. In the beginning, August seems

“… a history … a dark, rooted, tragic, ugly history. A history so shrouded we don’t even talk about it. The Monreaux family is off-limits in every sense of the word.”

Hot and steamy Romeo & Juliet!
The Montagues and Capulets or the Hatfields & McCoys have nothing on the feuding Monreaux and Rose families. This romance teased the promise of a dark and turbulent mystery involving death and blame in both families, and the damage caused. Sheridan Rose and

What do you get when you combine starcrossed lovers, enough attraction to power a small city, and the threat of no future? Winter Renshaw’s newest book, Enemy Dearest. The Monreauxs and Roses are enemies, a tenet created after tragedies befalling both families. August, the youngest Monreaux, and Sheridan Rose are taught from their youth to avoid each other. This isn’t difficult given that the Monreauxs are the royalty of their town in Missouri, while the Roses struggle for

Dearest Enemy was a one day read for me. August was an asshole but as soon as he fell in love it was obvious. Sheridan was wonderful and the two of them together were magic. I wanted this book to be longer because I didn't want the story to end. I can't wait for another Renshaw read! ...more

I've been reading Winter's books for a few years now. I can honestly say that I've fallen in love with every one of them She never disappoints, imo.

August Monreaux and Sheridan Rose story was amazingly written. Their fate/paths were meant to be. The stars align before they were born. Two souls who were Forbidden to be together. Families who hate ran deep. But love, it's powerful and even when the path is filled with roadblocks. Love, true love will find a way.

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars! Enemies to lover romance. I love this trope when the families hate each other some times for generations but the 2 hero and heroine are ridiculously attracted to each other and then they can’t help themselves and they break that rule. Ha, so good! This was a good one.

The Monreaux and Rose family- modern day Hatfields and McCoys?  The Capulets and Montagues, minus the terrible ending?  Sheridan Rose and August Monreaux are on opposites sides of everything possible- the proverbial tracks, their wealth or lack of it and life situtions.  He is the idle rich, youngest playboy son of the man who controls everything in their hometown of Meredith Hills and she is the innocent, hard working only child of a downtrodden family who are struggling just to make ends meet, ...more

Unfortunately this was not my favorite Winter Renshaw novel. First off, I think the blurb is very misleading. This isn’t a marriage of convenience like I thought, the characters are 18/19 years old about to leave for college. Marriage has literally nothing to do with the majority of this book. Basically, this is a Romeo and Juliet-ish type story with a mystery woven into it, and while I appreciate the fact that I couldn’t tell you who the bad guy really was, I still think the book fell flat.

Essentially a Romeo & Juliet retelling, with a murky family history between the Monreaux and Rose families. August & Sheridan basically stood no chance at a love story. Star crossed lovers at their finest.
But things changed. While you can’t pick your family, you can learn from their past experiences, and grow from it. And they did.

So, I'm a sucker for WR books, this one pulled me in quite fast. A forbidden love story between the kids of 2 families who have terrible history. August Monreaux, a rich, entitled "bad boy" who always got what he wanted and got away with anything because of his family and last name finds a girl trespassing in his swimming pool one night. Sheridan Rose, the girl from the other side of the tracks. The Rose's and Monreaux's have a complicated history but there is just something about Sheridan that ...more

Okay, I will admit that at the end of this book, I felt it was a bit drawn out and I almost concluded that I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought. But now that I write this review almost two weeks after reading it, I really enjoyed it. I read it all in one seating and it was a delight.

Sheridan's family and August's family have been in a feud for years. Simply, August's father thinks Sheridan's father killed his wife and unborn child. Which means natural August and Sheridan are natural enemies be

Here's a little raw honesty: that blurb is terrible, seriously terrible. And I say that as someone who loves this author's books. I went into this one thinking that I was reading a marriage of convenience/second chance kind of story, featuring adult characters. It's actually a high school romance, with a pretty typical good girl/rich jerk storyline and major Romeo and Juliet vibes. Which... is really not what I was expecting, lol. So there were definitely times when I struggled with this one, no ...more

A Suspenseful Forbidden Romance

A story of two families with so much hatred between them. Secrets of the past will be uncovered and the one's responsible will have to face their fate. A forbidden love story that will lead them all to the truth.

August Monreaux was the cliched, self-entitled, rebellious bad boy your parents forbid you to date. Sheridan Rose is the good girl who has always done what was expected. The night she took a swim in the Monreaux family pool was supposed to be an innocent a

4.5 stars - I really enjoyed this angsty, sexy romance.

"I like Rose girl...It suits you. Makes me think of roses...beautiful from afar but covered in thorns, like some kind of warning to stay away."

All her life, Sheridan Rose has been told to stay away from the Monreaux family. They have a long, tempestuous history with the most powerful family in Meredith Hills. When her path crosses with August Monreaux, she sets in motion not only her first love affair, but also the unravelling of the mysteri

This is the second book in two days that has had misleading or not too appropriate synopsis to what is contained in the book. The synopsis gives the impression that there is an arranged marriage or similar afoot, in reality the marriage was voluntary and took place somewhere between the end and five year jump of the epilogue.

In addition there were weird editing issues that were trivial enough they should have been picked up in the editing timeframe or perhaps it was rushed?

I liked the story even

Enemies to lovers romance is always my favorite. I had been looking forward to this ARC ever since it was announced.

I loved the book.

It's a modern day Romeo and Juliet love story with a twist.

Ot's one of those books where you'd also want a paperback copy even-though you already the kindle copy.

I read this in one day. Literally! I started early morning and finished mid afternoon. I couldn't put it down!

Enemy Dearest is an all new standalone featuring the enemies to lovers/forbidden romance of August Monreaux & Sheridan Rose. She’s always known it was absolutely forbidden to be anywhere near the Monreaux family, the very family that is responsible for so much tragedy & hardship for her family....yet that doesn’t stop her from coming face to face with him as she took a dip in his pool without permission. That one encounter is all it takes for Augu

I love Winter's books because no matter the story she leaves you with a happy feeling. This book was amazing for so many reasons. I love the way her mind works, how her words flow effortlessly, how she makes me fall in love with every dang story she writes. This novel has passion, joy, drama, twists & turns...everything!! It consumed me from the very first chapter and it did not let me go until I finished the last page.

It was good, interesting. I like that Sheridan wasn’t a total pushover. But the last 20% of the book was a little weird the way it went down and all got figured out perfectly and easily even after YEARS of deep seeded hate toward one another.
