Nerd On Nerd Crush

At the start of Jason and Samantha’s story, we first meet Jason a self proclaimed nerd whom I find adorable. Apparently he has a crush on his curvy coworker Samantha and judging from her various Star Wars figurines and toys she’s a closet nerd herself which only solidifies that she is his perfect match. While using her computer he comes across a file labeled “forbidden” as a former hacker old habits die hard. After he’s read the entire file he’s speechless and turned on. He didn’t know this side of Samantha existed but I don’t hear him complaining.

As our story continues we discover that the “nerd crush” is mutual and Samantha is admittedly obsessed with Jason Murphy. E might even be her muse when she writes her stories in her down time. As she is leaving work in begins to downpour and as luck would have it her right front passenger tire decides to blow. To her dismay Jason shows up and pulls in behind her. She accepts a ride from him almost instantly. As a result of this decision Jason and Samantha’s lives are changed forever hopefully for the best and there are no regrets.

Now that you have a brief summary (I tried to not leave any spoilers) I have a new name for Jason Murphy and it’s “dirty nerd” because he makes dirty talk look like an art form. I’d only be so lucky to find a man woman for that matter with this necessary talent. I also have to say that the conversation between Poppy and Jason regarding why women read romance is the exact reason I read romance. For simply the escape and the gratification that the things I feel inside will most likely connect with one or both of the characters I discovered in any romance I choose to read.

I know this only the second book I’ve read by this author but it is one of my favorite books of 2021 and one I will remember for a very long time and not because I have so many passages highlighted and yes even some of the dirty ones. Jason Murphy AKA “Hot Nerd” is exactly that! This is the most detailed review I think I’ve ever written. I’m just becoming very fond of this of the people in this series especially Jason and Samantha Murphy.

Overall it was a very cute nerd crush story. I loved the characters. It had a very good start. I was loving the story but felt it was rushed at the end. The ending was nice but there should have been a bit more added to help it along.

This book had me squirming over the lack of honest communication between Jason, Windsor Securities’ computer genius, and the receptionist Samantha (“Sam”), which led to them wasting so much time not realizling how the other felt. Jason is ashamed of the hacking felony on his record that makes him not a good choice for Sam. So without getting her perspective on it, he suffers silently and doesn’t tell her how he feels about her. Sam likewise figures he doesn’t like her for some reason -- because he hasn’t told her the reason and she hasn’t asked him. So she doesn’t make a move either.

Both of them are actually crazy about each other and steadfastly ignoring their feelings for almost a year until that fortunate rainy night at the side of the road when her tire shredded and he gave her a ride to her apartment. It was the first conversation they had ever had in the 10 months she worked there! And she acknowledged that he never looked at her, never talked to her, and left the room when she came in. Then embarrassed, she ran through the rain to her apartment, but he caught her and finally told her how gorgeous he thought she was and that he never spoke to her because he would tell her everything he felt for her and wanted to share with her. And then he began kissing her with a possessive, claiming kiss that knocked down all the barriers holding them back. You won’t want to miss the rest of their sizzling story, so grab your copy and see how it works out!

This was a fun, quick story. Samantha is a romance writer on the side and a full time assistant manager at a tech company. She works with a bunch of gorgeous geeks and has the hots for one of them who seems to not like her at all and she assumes it is because he is uber smart. Jason has had the hots for Samantha since she started working at their company 10 months and 3 weeks ago. He thinks that she does not like him because she is nice and cheerful with everyone but him. He also does not think he is good enough for her because of his past. When he is doing maintenance on her computer, he hacks into her files and reads the story she is writing. This causes Jason to realize that Sam has a lot more to her and is wilder than he thought. When he comes across her car broken down on the side of the road, they have no choice but to talk to each other. So starts their realization that they each desire and want the other. I loved the descriptions of Simon as the Hot Nerd and her British romance writing friend's straight-forward discussions with both Sam and Simon.

This is a good, short, easy to read romance that is pretty well written and that kept my attention throughout. Due to its length, there is not a whole lot of world building, but sufficient to tell the story and keep it moving.

Patiesībā, sižetiski no šī varēja uztaisīt labu vieglo popkorngrāmatu par administratori un programmētāju. Bet tad vajadzētu vairāk lapas un daudz, daudz, daudz mazāk pārspīlējumu visā.

This is a short story, just under 50 pages so you have to be prepared for insta-love. This story does pack a punch and you do get the steam within the second chapter. Yeah for steam.

Jason is a computer nerd/programmer, but he got into trouble helping a friend and ended up a felon. Does it matter it was to give that friend justice from an assault? Jason doesn't think so. He is insecure about it and belief Samantha deserves better. He can't stay away from her though since they work together.

When Samantha gets stuck on the side of the road, it is Jason who pulls over to help her. She is nervous because it seems Jason hates her, he never talks to her in the office. When some confessions are given in the car ride to her home, Samantha realizes she maybe got it all wrong.

While Jason has some hang-ups, it leads to him being an idiot and leaving Samantha right when it was getting good. With the help from some friends he sees how wrong he was and just in time for some hot scenes before their HEA.

Again, it was insta-love no way it couldn't be. My only issue was when they first get it on, and he is ready to marry her and "put a baby in her", with I love you coming in a little too quickly for me. Otherwise it was a fun, quick read with lots of steam!

Well, I’m definitely ugly crying af, thank you very much!! That was such a wonderfully sweet story with a lot of heat. Jason and Sam left singe marks on my kindle... mmmm’kay?!

Jason is a dirty talkin’, glasses wearin’ alpha-nerd who will melt you like butter!! Holy wow!! Serve me up another helping of that goodness.

Sam is a little spitfire with all the right curves!! I love that she wasn’t going to take any (beep) from Jason. I just wanted to high-five her coz girl got grit, yall!!

Absolutely loved this story. The grand gesture at the end made me stand up and slow clap. Honestly, Kat Baxter packs in all the emotions in such a short read. And she always writes characters that steal a piece of my heart. Another winner!!

Nerd + Romance Writer = Hot and Sweet

What’s better than a hot, growly, alpha hero? A hot, growly, alpha hero-nerd, that’s what! And this hero, nerd has a secret, which keeps him from acting on his instincts to make Samantha his, forever. She’s not a one-night kind of girl and he’s not good enough for her to have more than one night.

But that’s what he takes and Samantha is quite pissed off. Jason doesn’t get to act all jealous and caveman over her and keep her a secret. Good for Samantha! Luckily, Jason listens to a friend or two give him the business about being good enough for Sam.

This is Book Two in The Windsor Securities series and we learn a bit more about the company and the gentlemen that work there. Does Kat set her readers up for a possible next couple? We shall see (I hope so).

I highly recommend this book. Read Curves and Cars, book one, if you haven’t already. It’s not necessary to read before reading this book, it’s just a fun read and you will enjoy it.

I liked this short story. It was entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting, likable, and easy to relate to. Jason did make me want to smack him upside the head for not just talking to Samantha (Sam) about his past and his feelings. His decision to not talk to Sam hurt both of them for nearly a year. If Sam hadn't gotten stuck on the side of the road, it probably would have been longer since that was the catalyst to them talking and more. Sam was sure that Jason hated her so she didn't try to get him to talk to her even though she was attracted to him. I did hope that we would get to see Sam's reaction to Jason invading her privacy as well as more of his reaction to what he found. I liked the way the story ended, I just wanted more from the epilogue. I recommend reading this book.

Sam and Jason have been working together for almost a year, both of them harboring a crush on the other but not acting on it. Then one night, driving home from work during a rain storm, Sam's car had a flat tyre. And who was the one coming to her aide, none other than Jason. Thrown together in such a confining space for the first time they had no choice but to talk, the attraction between them sizzling, making it impossible to ignore. Giving in to the attraction was easy, facing the aftermath and their insecurities another. This is a story about people and their insecurities, a man believing that he is not good enough for the woman he loves because of his past and not realizing that she is stronger than he thinks. A short, quick but enjoyable read.

This is one of those books where I really just wanted to smack Jason up side the head a couple times until he finally realized what an idiot he was being.
For someone so smart he certainly didn't put together the fact that Sam, as the office manager (or whatever she is) would have access to all the men's personnel files. *smh*
For the 10 months that Sam has been working at Windsor Securities, Jason has harbored a big ol crush on her. But because of his past he's sure he not good enough for her.
However, that doesn't stop him from clearing up the misconception Sam has of him hating her and not wanting anything to do with her.

I liked the story. I especially liked the epilogue and all of Sam's fans really digging her husband.

Another Curves story from Kat Baxter and she hits it out of the park. We return to Windsor Securities and pick up just after the owner Cade meets Summer in the first book in the series.
However this book centres around hot IT genius and reformed hacker Jason and sexy receptionist/secret romance author Samantha. They are both madly attracted to each other but don’t give into their feelings until one rainy night by the side of the road.
This book has all the heart and heat that we love about Kat’s books and it’s great to catch up with the characters from the first book and hopefully meet the characters from the next one.
Highly recommended for a short sexy read.

This is the 2nd book in the Windsor Securities series, Sam is the receptionist by day and secret romance writer by night, she has hot fantasies about the nerdy hacking techie code monkey Jason. He hides his attraction towards her and then a blown tyre changes their relationship forever. This is a great short story, like Kat's other books it engages you with the characters and you never want to get to the end, unfortunately it's always a bit too soon for my liking. Can't wait for the next one in the series.

I thought that this was an awesome book. I loved Sam and Jason together. Jason is afraid to get close to Same because of his past and all Sam wants to be close to the hunky computer tech. This two have amazing chemistry but they are unsure of how to proceed with their feelings. I really enjoyed the drama in this book and I can't wait to see what happens next with Windsor Securities guys. I would recommend this book and Ms. Kat as a great author!

Jason has loved Samantha since she started working the him. He thinks because he did time for hacking and he's a felon that he's not worthy of her. I am really enjoying this series. The men are hot, intense but with their flaws, and the women are strong, determine and are all around amazing. Jason is a geek with a past, who has had his eye on Sam for ten months and 3 weeks. Sam works as the receptionist with a passion to write and an eye for a hot geek, but he does not seem to like her.

One stormy night is about to change both of their lives, not only if Jason can get pass his past. Love this story from start to finish.

Really enjoyed reading this curvy woman romance, it was entertaining and steamy and it hit all the right spots for this lover of the curvy woman love stories.....she cant keep her eyes of him but everytime she looks at him he has a look of disinterest or disgust on his face....if she omly knew..... he has had fantasies of her from the moment she started working there but cant do anything about it because he is hiding a secret from her......

Loved it

Brilliant second book of the series. Jason is too intent on protecting Sam from him that he doesn’t realise that he is actually hurting her.
Sam thinks Jason dislikes her as he is always frowning and looking grumpy at her when he saves her from the side of the road when her car gets a flat they actually talk and he seems surprised when she tells him she knows he dislikes her.
Once again Jason has mucked up and hurt Sam again and it takes an impromptu visit from Sam’s friends to put him right now all he needs to do is let her know.

This was book two of this series. Samantha/ Sam and Jason have worked together for almost a year. They each like the other but are unsure how to tell the other. Jason feels he’s not good enough for Sam and doesn’t want to tell her his secret. Sam is a lovely loyal person who wants Jason but thinks he doesn’t like her. This was an enjoyable read. This is the second book in the Windsor Security series. Jason is obsessed with Samantha, but due to his past, feels that he is unworthy of her. This creates all sorts of conflicts for Jason. Will he be able to look beyond his past or will it stop him from getting the woman of his dreams?

Sam and Jason were great together. I loved that Jason was a “nerd” and not your typical male lead.

Windsor Securities admin has always had the hots for the loveable but stoic Jason but when the two finally realize they feel the same things will it be love in paradise or the end to the happy office? I really did like this book. I liked both of these characters. I liked that there was miscommunication between them and that's what prevented them from pursuing anything.

This book was hot in every way!! The only thing I didn't like was because it was short i feel like I missed out on somethings or there were things that could have been flushed out. I understand the love a good quick read, but there are books that are just that and you want more.

Getting mixed signals from each other Samantha and Jason have no idea that they both want the other. Cute storyline with some really steamy scenes that further confuse the other. Like all the characters and how they all give the same advice when finally Jason begins to listen. Great grand gesture to win his loves heart.

An entertaining book two in the Windsor Security series! It is well written, engaging, funny, and emotionally deep with drama, steamy scenes, and back and forth. The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is off the charts and undeniable. Definitely recommended!

I loved Jason and Samantha's story, they are cute and hit nerds. I loved the storyline it has everything that is essencial in a love story...romance, heat, humor and a bit of drama. The hole secret crush for each other and barely being able to talk because of it is so cute. You have to read this story because I don't do spoilers.

Hot Nerd!

I loved this story. Jason works at the security firm doing coding where Sam is the receptionist. Both of them have different ways for showing their attraction. One rainy night all of that changes. Once in a confined space together things really heat up. Friends, trust, compassion leads to a HEA.

I loved the first person point of view of the story, not to mention that I loved the hero, Jason. These two things are deal breakers for me.
This was an amazing story, I also loved Samantha. A quick read, I read in one sitting. 5 stars.
