If this magazine were REAL NEWS - I'd order their editor executed. The TRUE CRIME STORIES they investigate are TRUE MURDER VICTIMS - but the stories are altered to meet the magazine's agenda for publicity and a "history replacement of a victim" - most American Governments and their State Departments are a "rewritten history of victims". People Magazine has been in my city and released a new version of the story of Jessica Chambers since contacting them. They blame the cover shot on the magazine upon a man who looks identical to the Brother, of rapper "Jay-Z" -- what a FUCK OF A NATION - including Hollywood -- Unfortunately - this whole situation has been handled and never once did People Magazine help the victim's family but financed their lives off of it. The Mother, still PSYCHOTIC for believing the story is her daughter and claiming the child was hers. Regardless of birth certificates or school records with real pictures. And America believes it. Anyone who lives a scripted life is nothing more than a "cell" that answers to a bogus Government. Specifically in the movie "13 Hours" where REAL people were put captive in a terrorist camp by the script of the "CIA" and it became truth and then it became war. For this magazine, it's partial truth but it's totally the play of the FBI and Hollywood.

I assume the Mother will always be obsessed with a 'psychopath Oscar winner" who truly believes he is the elite of the world.

Apologies, Jessica.

I need to reread this soon because its been months since my last read and I have forgotten quite a lot.

As a true crime nut I immensely enjoyed this, anyone looking to delve into the world of true crime should look into this one. While it doesn't deliver an in depth look for the reader, it does give you "what you need to know" (of course I wanted more so.. I did my research, which made me spend more time reading this. I did specifically research Ted Bundy if anyone's wondering)
My favourite chapter was 'Hearts of Darkness' , the tagline was "murder for murder's sake".. Come on is that not a gripping sentence? Especially for both a true crime and a psychology nut. Mysteries and Sudden Twists was also an intrguing read, and Justice Delayed was very satisfying (seeing those who dodged the law pay)
of course if you gave me all the time in the world I'd never stop talking about my peculiar fascination with the portrayal of the crimes and my psychological theories.

Excellent, a must read for anyone fascinated by criminology. It doesn't only include murder, but other crimes are discussed as well for those who are wondering.

I felt like reading through a special issue of People's Magazine: the riddle of Versace's killer, unusual suspects, crimes of passion, follow the money, Hollywood and crime, O.J. Simpson, the fall of Michael Jackson, famous mugs, the all American Psycho... many interesting cases and photos. A bit superficial though. Nice material to get first impressions. Recommended1

Surprisingly, my dad was the one who purchased this. Driving back home, I took a break from The Mill on the Floss to devour this. I've always had a fascination with murder mysteries and the psychology of it all. There are so many reasons why people kill (love, revenge, money, etc), and almost all of them were shown in these cases. A lot of them I was familiar with, which was nice, but some of them I wasn't. An interesting read and certainly good for a road trip. My prayers to all those victims, dead and alive, and their loved ones. Recommended.

Loved the short synopsis on certain criminals. Had a few laughs though even though it wasn't funny what they have done

Short easy read about true crime stories. I'd heard about half the stories.
