What happens when a good girl asks a bad boy to help her break all the rules?
“Please show me how to break a few rules…”
Hallie Banks is done being “the good twin,” living in her superstar sister’s shadow. But what does she know about letting loose and having fun? She needs a teacher, and fortunately, gorgeous bachelor bad boy Gavin Sutherland is up for the job. Soon Hallie bursts out of her comfort zone and loses herself to Gavin's sizzling touch. But living on the edge always comes with a cost…and now the moment of reckoning is nine months away!

"I was convinced loving someone meant missing out on life. You taught me being in love made life better." This was a sweet, loving, fun, sometimes-steamy read, and a definite page-turner, with that forever ending you know you need!
It's the story of a woman who needs to open up and break some rules, and the guy who chooses to help her do it, breaking his most important one: don't fall in love.
I never felt a full connection to Hallie. I get it that she feels like she blends in and cannot stand out, that there's more to life, and that she should be living it. I think it may have been too much for me, though, because at times she sounds kind of childish, and I didn't really feel her love for Gavin as I felt his for her.
Gavin. He's pretty much dreamy, trying to remain unattached while paying attention to the smallest details. He's also honest, and I love that. He's been nothing but honest to Hallie, while helping her break out of her shell. He's also been honest about wanting her in his house, and in his bed. But maybe he hasn't been very honest with himself about what he wants.
"Sex this good was why sonnets were written and why love songs were crooned. She imagined sex this good was also why breakups hurt like physical wounds, why exes got back together." Once these two finally get together, however, all bets are off. I loved them together. From the small stuff Gavin dared her to do to break the rules she imposed on herself, to her giving as good as she got, these two were both sweet and steamy, and definitely worthy of some awww moments.
Something that annoyed me personally: the romantic in me found it sweet that she wanted to be with Gavin without protection and nothing between them. That they trusted each other. However, the woman in me really disliked her later saying she didn't want a condom because she wanted to break the rules. It sounded childish to me, and it didn't sound like she was really interested in him. I didn't feel that Gavin, who was a total sweetheart, deserved this.
"I'm about to break the biggest rule in my world and beg you for forever." All in all, for me this book was about finding the right person. The one who helps you break all the rules, but also the one who accepts you for who you are. The one you can be yourself with, regardless of whether you're the quiet one just blending in, or the one jumping into a freezing lake just because you want to. The one you can come home to, and build a home with.
This is a romance, and this is the 4th book in the Dynasties: Beaumont Bay series. I am sad to say this book was not for me. I found the story its self to be boring and nothing that pulled me in. I also found the characters to be flat, and I could not make myself care about any of the characters. I really wanted to love this story, and I am not sure if its is the writing style of this book that I did not get along with. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Harlequin Desire) or author (Jessica Lemmon) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
GOOD TWIN GONE COUNTRY is part of the Dynasties: Beaumont Bay series, which is a series that Jessica Lemmon shares with Jules Bennet. These two authors switch between writing books in this series, which I think is an interesting idea. For this particular book, we have a good girl named Hallie Banks who is trying to break out of her sister’s shadow and shine on her own. So she enlists the help of resident bad boy Gavin Sutherland to help her.
Since I haven’t read the other books in this series, I didn’t feel fully connected with the characters in the beginning. But I could relate to Hallie’s desire for something different. All her life she has been living in the shadow of her superstar sister, so it was nice to see her personal growth throughout this book.
There’s a nice music theme throughout this entire book, which I think sets it apart from others and makes it unique. I loved the details and enjoyed how the romance unfolded. Slow and sweet, this book will definitely sweep you off your feet!
Fun conclusion to the series. This is the story of Gavin Sutherland, youngest of the four brothers and unrepentant playboy, and Hallie Banks, the quieter, "good" twin to her superstar sister Hannah.
Hallie has always preferred living in the background, avoiding the spotlight, which works well as her sister's career manager. However, lately, she's felt as though something is missing in her life. She longs to break free of her fear of breaking the rules and do something outrageous and fun. Just talking to Gavin would be a start, but she feels like she turns into a blithering idiot whenever she's near him.
Gavin likes his bachelor life. He makes sure the women he's with know not to expect anything serious from him. He works hard as a music industry lawyer with his brothers' music studio, and he plays hard. He frequently sees Hallie thanks to her sister being married to his brother and their work together on Hannah's career. Gavin believes that Hallie doesn't like him because she won't meet his eyes and avoids him whenever possible.
The story gets off to a rough start between Hallie and Gavin as she steps out of her comfort zone, and Gavin mistakes her for her sister. Gavin sticks his foot in his mouth with some observations about Hallie (he thinks he's talking to Hannah), and Hallie doesn't react well. I enjoyed the scene the next day as the truth came out, and they cleared the air. Hallie makes up her mind to ask Gavin to teach her how to break free of her rut. When he confesses to needing help with the interior decorator for his house, Hallie offers up a trade - lessons in rule-breaking for her assistance with his home.
I enjoyed watching Hallie break out of her shell. Gavin does a terrific job of starting her out slow and working up to more daring things. I loved how she thought she was doing great when she drove the sports car a whole eight miles per hour over the speed limit. Neither expected to discover their attraction reciprocated. I liked seeing Hallie take the initiative, though I must admit that her rule-breaking in that instance was asking for trouble. Gavin is honest about his attitude toward relationships which suits Hallie just fine.
I loved watching the development of the relationship between Hallie and Gavin. They have fun together, and their chemistry is undeniable. Gavin is sweet in his determination to help Hallie fulfill her goals, and sometimes she surprises him. I loved the skinny-dipping scene at the lake and his shock at her actions. Hallie's insights into Gavin made helping the interior decorator a breeze. The more time Gavin and Hallie spent together, the deeper their connection grew. Hallie suspected early that she fell for him, but Gavin resisted admitting his feelings for a long time. His brothers see it and call him on it, but Gavin refuses to give in.
Hallie is shocked when she gets pregnant (no idea why she's shocked considering the rule she broke). She knows Gavin's views on marriage and children, but she finds she wants more than he's willing to give. She breaks off their relationship without telling him why, leaving Gavin wondering what went wrong. He spends several miserable days before Hallie's friends and sister confront him and point out his idiocy (without giving away her secret). I loved how he saw the light and immediately set out to make things right. I loved his big moment at the end, and his heartfelt "I was convinced loving someone meant missing out on life. You taught me being in love made life better" and "I'm about to break the biggest rule in my world and beg you for forever." One of the things I loved about Gavin was that he saw past her resemblance to her sister and loved Hallie for herself. I also liked how Hallie gained more confidence in herself as she stepped out from Hannah's shadow.
The epilogue was a terrific wrap-up to the series. I enjoyed seeing all four couples together and catching up with their lives. I had to laugh at Gavin poking at Cash about who has the better house. Hallie's happiness and contentment are evident, as is Gavin's joy in his life.
I really enjoyed the final book in this series! I adored Gavin, he definitely was the sweetest playboy yet. He was so thoughtful and caring, whilst still bringing the 🔥. He 100% earned the 5* for this book on his own! I was intrigued to see how their book would play out with Hallie from the previous books because she really did seem SO rigid, that I was hopeful for the pairing with Gavin to really bring the story and make it a fun satisfying read! I will say at times I was getting frustrated with Hallie that she wouldn’t talk to him, but then we need a bit of that to make the ending all the sweeter! The only thing I wish is that we got a bit of an extended epilogue to round out a little into the future of how each of the couples fare. Don’t want to say more then that to avoid spoilers - but I really really wanted to find out more about their HEAs shall we say lol!! Another sweet, quick, fun and spicy read by Jessica!
Wow, wow, wow...what a great book to finish off the Beaumont Bay series. I truly fell in love with Hallie and Gavin ❤️❤️❤️. They had such a strong connection and their passion was intense 🔥🔥🔥. I couldn't put this book down! The pacing was great and the story is fantastic. It's a great series and each book stands on its own. I enjoyed each story and loved each couple. Read this series, you won't regret it.
The skill of a great author is the ability to have you laughing even in the moments when tears want to fall. Good Twin Gone Country has so many of those almost tear moments. Lemmon gives the heart a reason to smile through the tears and that is refreshing for the soul. Gavin and Hallie are exposing their hearts to every reader that dares to take a look. It's a risk that is well worth the dare.
Hallie Banks was all business and professional and it was time for her to let her down and be a risk taker. And who is better at being a risk taker than her twin sister’s brother-in-Law Gavin Sutherland. He can teach her how to be a ruler breaker. Hallie has always let her sister Hannah shine; she was talented but Hallie was talented in her own right and Gavin knows how to make a girl shine. But one thing they both forgot in the ruling breaking was they each needed to protect their hearts. It was not all fun and friendship for Hallie, and when Hallie’s heart wants, more, Gavin is not into the long term of marriage and kids....Or is he.
I think this was my fav book of all the books in this series. Hallie was the most vulnerable for me and she knew what was important to her, Marriage and family. Gavin was good at playing, his big truck and fast cars lifestyle suited him. But helping Hallie be a “bad girl” was right up his alley, until his heart got in the way. I love how Jessica brought out the softer side of Gavin and make Hallie stronger in her confidence and showed her she was just not the “other twin”.
Jessica Lemmon and Jules Bennet gave us four wonderful books in their Beaumont Bay series and I can’t wait for the next project that these two wonderful writers will give us in the future. I thank them for allowing me to read and review these books. Of course their individual books are wonderful too.
I hadn’t read the previous books in the series, but I’m definitely going to now! Hallie and Gavin made a great couple who liked to “break the rules”. The relationships with the other girls were wonderful. The brothers’ banter was fun too. Gavin finally realizing what he was missing was sweet.
What a wonderful ending to this great series by Jessica Lemmon and Jules Bennett! This last story by Jessica wraps up the series. I have to admit I hate that it has ended as I really loved it! We get to know more about Gavin, the bad boy who doesn't settle, Sutherland. Also we get to find out more about Hannah's twin Hallie. Hallie decides she is going to try to loosen up and live life out in the wide open instead of blending into the wall. She goes to Gavin to help him challenge and push her. Will Gavin reform his own ways and will Hallie embrace life? This was such a wonderfully written story that was so very hard to put down. I loved every minute of the story!
I’ve received this book as an ARC from the author and this is my free and honest review: For all her life, Hallie Banks has been the “good twin”, managing her twin sister’s career and living on the “safe side” of life; never taking risks, never breaking rules. Accustomed to blend in, to get lost in the background, Hallie is at a point in her life, where she feels “plain and boring”, here enters Gavin Sutherland. Tall, handsome, outgoing and relationship-phobic, Gavin is the youngest of the Sutherland brothers, and doesn’t feel the need to have someone waiting for him at home when night falls. However, when Hallie proposes he helps her to “break some rules”, the attraction between them sizzles, coming fast and making them fall hard for each other. Add to this an accidental pregnancy and you got yourself a woman who’s trying to step out of her sister’s shadow (her comfort zone) and discover that she might be able to find happiness with a man she admired from afar, a man that first, will have to learn to overcome his fear of failure and open himself to what he has right in front of him.
“It wasn’t hard to see why she’d asked him to help her break rules. It was as if God had crafted him to be a rebel”
This is the last book in the Beaumont Dynasties series, where we get the chance to see under the hand of Jules Bennett and Jessica Lemmon how the Sutherland brothers find their happiness in the hands of strong women, making the reader fell in love with them from page one, and leave you wanting for more.
Hallie is the good girl twin. Always the one taking care of everything. Now she wants to be bad and Gavin Sutherland is just the one to teach her how to let loose. Watching these two get to know each other and become close was so exciting! This was a fun and flirty read. You get a little of all the previous couples in this series as well. It's hard to decide on a favorite of the series but I have a special admiration for Hallie. I awesome wrap up to the four book series.
Hallie Banks had been satisfied being the twin in the background to her country music superstar twin sister Hannah. Hallie had been quite content being Hannah's career manager. But now seemed like a good time to shake things up a bit. Who better to shake things up with, break a few rules with, than Gavin Sutherland. So they made a deal. Gavin would teach Hallie how to break a few rules and have fun and Hallie would work with Gavin's interior designer to decorate Gavin's new house. Hallie discovered that breaking rules could indeed be lots of fun, even more fun breaking rules with Gavin. Even when all that fun ended up with big changes nine months down the road.
Gavin Sutherland is the attorney in the family music business. That kept him plenty busy so there really was no time for a relationship. When Gavin mistook Hallie Banks for her twin sister Hannah one night that was the beginning of the changes in his life. Gavin knew Hallie was special but after spending time with her after their agreement that made Gavin realize just how special Hallie was. Breaking rules with her was more than fun. Gavin's attraction to Hallie kept growing the more time he spent with her. Maybe he needed to move on from his playboy bachelor life and make Hallie the special lady in his life.
Good Twin Gone Country by Jessica Lemmon is the fourth book in the Harlequin series Ms. Lemmon is writing with Jules Bennett. I really enjoyed this story. Hallie and Gavin seemed to be an unlikely couple but they meshed so well together. They both needed to open their eyes to the potential of their relationship. Spending time with Hallie, Gavin and the rest of the couples in this series has been very entertaining. This whole country music series has been a delightful read.
I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
Hallie and Gavin were so good together, but it almost never happened. It took Gavin sticking both feet in his mouth and Hallie wanting to break out of the monotony to even start the glimmer of a possibility for them. It’s a classic case of boy wanting girl and vice versa, yet no one having the nerve to make a move. But Hallie proved braver than Gavin, for sure. And so their risks begin...
My one real issue with this book was the whole “I want to go unprotected because it’s breaking a rule” move. First, assuming that Gavin was safe because he’d always suited up was plain dumb. Second, really? There’s a difference between living a little and being flat out irresponsible and possibly unsafe. That said, at least these two were monogamous and we didn’t have any serious ick factor moments of worry. I’m just a little tired of books employing this tactic because we all know better than to assume. Okay, rant over.
Back to Gavin and Hallie. Once they cleared the air, with some serious help from others, all was good. So this is a quick, sweet, sometimes steamy read about finding your best self and embracing the life you want. And I’m always happy about a couple finding that confidence and HEA.
I LOVED THESE TWO!!! When I got a peek of Gavin and his personality while reading Cash and Presley’s book, Second Chance Love Song, I instantly looked forward to his story.
The fun, flirty, light-hearted and passionate chemistry between Gavin and Hallie felt so natural and perfect. I found myself craving every interaction between them as their connection grew throughout the book.
Great book, would highly recommend giving it a read.
Hannah is a manager but manages only her sister; Gavin is an attorney. Neither of them are particularly impressive as doing their jobs - the author tries but clearly has no idea what she’s talking about - and Gavin comes off as smarmy on a regular basis, while Hallie is your stereotypical Harlequin workaholic babe-who-doesn’t-know-it. Will he be able to loosen her up? Will she be able to get the playboy to commit? Because this isn’t a very good book, the tit-for-tat agreement they come up with is that Gavin, a lawyer, will help Hallie loosen up; while Hallie, an entertainment manager, will help Gavin with his interior design, because she “saw [his] minimalist condo once” and from that can figure out all his design issues. I just - couldn’t the author have made Hallie an interior designer, instead of making it clear that she thinks Any Monkey Could Do This Job So Why Not My Heroine?
This is a sequel book so we have to meet all of Gavin’s brothers and their perfect gorgeous wives. This doesn’t work for me in books with insecure heroines, and Hallie is a very insecure heroine; because the wives are all previous heroines and this is a category series, they have to be kind and relatable to the reader, meaning that Hallie’s insecurities come off as unfounded and silly.
My other big issue is, Gavin comes off as a jerk. He mistakes Hallie for her twin sister, says some not so great things about Hallie, and then basically forces his way into her apartment to apologize - which he does by not actually apologizing. Sure, this is on-brand for an entertainment attorney. It is not on-brand for a romance hero I enjoy reading. This is also one of those books where we’re supposed to find it attractive that the hero spends money like water, e.g. surrendering a perfectly good truck (of course) so he can lease another brand-new truck (“Show me the best you have. I’m feeling spendy today”) because “it’s no fun to drive a used car.” Really? Cause they can give those the New Car Smell (TM) these days, you know. But you see he knows how to Enjoy Life and the heroine is Too Uptight.
Over all I feel like this is a very New Harlequin Category romance - there’s a much bigger emphasis on friends and family than in old-school HP novels, with scenes of Hallie giggling to her girlfriends about her latest date (and Gavin talking to his buddies). This isn’t a trend that generally works for me with category novels, I think; they’re too short. It works in Hallmark movies because I really want to see Autumn Reeser hang out with Lacey Chabert and Alison Sweeney, all of them with perfect, perfect hair; but a Harlequin heroine’s friends don’t have enough page time to make me care about their perfect, perfect hair. The actual romance seemed to take second place, and neither Hallie nor Gavin seemed to express real emotion - it felt like watching dolls being moved around a stage - so I DNF'd at chapter nine, when these supposed adults were still twittering about the idea of maybe kissing a second time OMG.
Hallie Banks has always been in the shadow of her Country-Star singing twin. She's been very successful at managing her sister's career and she doesn't begrudge Hannah her fame, but Hallie is starting balk at the restrictions she's placed upon herself. She decides it's time to allow herself to loosen up a bit and she know exactly who to ask for help.
Gavin Sutherland knows how to have fun, even when it earns the ire of a certain twin who will remain nameless. While he's thrown when Hallie approaches him for help, he definitely won't turn her down. He sees all the work she's does behind the scenes and knows she deserves to be able to step out into the front and center every now and then.
What starts off as two people working toward moving out of their comfort zones becomes something much more. But are they willing to change the rest of their lives?
I'm always taken in by a story featuring a character breaking out of their shell. I love seeing the transformation. What I liked about what Jessica Lemmon did here is that Hallie is not the only character that's breaking out of her shell. Hallie needs to open up and welcome more fun in her life, whereas Gavin hides behind the fun he has. It keeps him from having to seriously commit to a future. I like that just as Gavin helps Hallie, she also helps him.
For all that I could kind of tell where the story was heading, there were a few aspects that I wish we had gotten to spend more time exploring down the line, but Jessica Lemmon really focused on that initial build up of the relationship which is not necessarily a bad thing, but - avoiding spoilers - I would have maybe liked a little more balance between how things started and what came after because just as much as I'm drawn into seeing characters break out of their shell, I'm also riveted by how we deal with the unexpected.
Overall, it was an enjoyable read. I think their story was hands down my favorite of this series. I love that, in these final books, we get a lot of group time with the other characters. Because honestly, it's always about those connections and that love that really makes for a read that you want to revisit again and again.
“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙢𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙄 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙮 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜?” 💛 Let’s talk about “Good Twin Gone Country by Jessica Lemmon”, 4th book in the Dynasties: Beaumont Bay series. 💛 When I saw the blurb of this book I was immediately captivated, but it was Gavin and Hallie who sealed the deal. Jessica knocked out (pun intended) with this story, creating a couple that I couldn’t help but love. They were so good together and their rule breaking situations were fun, light and oh so steamy.
Hallie spent her whole life in her country singer super famous sister. Although they are twins and physically the same, emotionally and in personality they were totally different. But that was enough, she wanted to break the rules a little, learn to work hard and being amazing at what she does, but also have so fun. And who better to teach the way then Gavin? They are basically family, since he is her sister’s husband brother.
Gavin didn’t think twice, he was all in at losing her up, he knew a lot about fun. What I like the most in this story was how they both needed that agreement, their friendship and connection were building with every rule breaking date. He just didn’t think through that he might be losing his heart to her with every interaction. I laugh out loud that he thought his heartbreak was actually heartburn, the guys was business smart but in the love department were so clueless.
Since the blurb promised a surprise pregnancy I was super expecting it to happened at least in the middle of the story so we could live a little this part of their lives, but it happened close to the end. I mean, I really loved the twist, fallout and the end, they complement each other perfectly but I wished to live a little more in their crazy surprise situation. Another highlight of this book, was Hallie’s grandma! Can I have her myself? Loved her advices.
I enjoyed this book much more than the previous by the same author. I felt it made a little more sense. I mean, both characters feel some attraction for each other before they get together. And then, boom! So much sexyness and love.
I thought that Hallie was an interesting character, even in the previous book. The fact that she shares her pretty face with her famous sister, but is the complete opposite of her gave her some edge. Then she decides to loosen up a bit, and who better than her brother-in-law’s brother to help her?
I wasn’t sold on Gavin at first. He seemed to take nothing really seriously, especially not his relationship with Hallie. Until he changed. I loved how he expressed his feelings without knowing exactly what they were.
We see a lot of the rest of the Sutherland family and their spouses, and I really liked how they act with each other–support each other, but also not taking any bullsh*t.
As for the little surprise near the end of the book? Very well played! It changed a just okay romance into a very nice one. I recommend!
Quickie
- Series: Dynasties: Beaumont Bay #4 (can be read a standalone) - Hashtags: #small town romance #opposites attract - Triggers: N/A - Main couple: Hallie Banks & Gavin Sutherland - Hotness: 4/5 - Romance: 5/5 - + I loved the way they both change at the same time - – once again a little too short
Good Twin Gone Country (Beaumont Bay 4) is the final book in the series by Jessica Lemmon. This series was a joint effort by Jessica and Jules Bennett, and book 4 is a great wrap up to the series. In this novel we get to know Gavin Sutherland, the youngest of the four Sutherland brothers and Hallie Banks twin sister to Hannah who we met previously.
Hallie is the good twin, the so called quiet twin, living and working quietly in the background. But as she has preferred living behind the scenes she now feels like life is passing her by. She wants to be the bad twin for a minute and see how the other half lives. Get out of her rut, spice it up.
Gavin is a self-confessed bachelor, working in the music industry places a pretty woman around every corner but he makes his bachelor preference known to any hookup. He knows Hallie but doesn’t really think of her with more than a passing thought, until he mistakes her for Hannah and speaks out of turn. Now she is asking him to help her find her wild side and he isn’t sure if he can do it. Maybe a life hack trade with her is the answer.
An unexpected surprise (though not to the reader) leaves to more regret and bad decisions. Will they be able to weather this storm and fight for their developing relationship? Great series end (the epilogue was a good touch) and love catching up with other couples we’ve met along the way.
Good Twin Gone Country is the fourth book in the Beaumont Bay series and is the story of the youngest Sutherland, Gavin and Hallie Banks.
Hallie is a focused woman who Gavin thinks needs to loosen up more and he says as much to her, only he thinks he's saying this to Hallie's twin, Hannah. After the sting of his remark has faded somewhat, Hallie realises that perhaps Gavin wasn't too far off the mark and she decides to rope him into helping her break a few rules. Gavin is more than happy to be of service, especially when the rule breaking ends up in the bedroom.
I really enjoyed this book. There's a huge comfort factor in reading a Jessica Lemmon and this definitely fit the bill for me. There was great chemistry between Gavin and Hallie and I also really liked the relationship Gavin shares with his brothers and Hallie shares with her twin, Presley and Cassandra. I do think that between the two, Hallie's conflicts and reasons for being the way she was were more compelling than Gavin's. His reasons behind not wanting to be with Hallie long-term didn't feel as strong as they could have been but, having said that, it didn't really detract from the story much for me.
Hallie and Gavin’s story in Good Twin Gone Country by Jessica Lemmon, book four in the Beaumont Bay series, is an emotional, steamy, and enjoyable tale. Hallie Banks is tired of being the good twin, alone, living in her superstar sister’s shadow. It’s time for her to shake things up and get out of her comfort zone. Not able to do this on her own, she needs a teacher, maybe even a bad boy to show her how to loosen up and have fun. Gavin Sutherland is more than happy to sign up for this job. It doesn’t take long before Hallie is enjoying the time she spends with Gavin; especially the sizzle, magnetism, and fireworks his touch inspires. Only, Hallie soon learns that there are unexpected consequences for living and enjoying the life she always wanted.
Ms. Lemmon wrote an emotional and steamy romance that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sizzling chemistry, wonderful dialogue, and charming characters giving Hallie and Gavin a chance at love and a future neither expected. I highly recommend Good Twin Gone Country to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Good Twin Gone Country is the final edition in the Beaumont Bay series and it does not disappoint. This is Gavin and Hallie's story. Gavin is the youngest Sutherland brother and a self proclaimed playboy and Hallie is the "good twin" to her country music star sister Hannah. After Gavin mistakes Hallie for her twin, she enlists his help in learning how to break a few rules. Gavin helps Hallie learn how to loosen up and they both end up giving in to their attractions for one another, which leads to some very steamy sessions and a lot of romance. Gavin has become my favorite Sutherland. This playboy has a heart of gold and his evolution into his and Hallie's HEA is a sweet and satisfying journey. The story was entertaining and Hallie and Gavin's chemistry was off the charts. Overall a fantastic ending to this romantic series.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review.
This is a series that I discovered halfway through and am wishing I had read the first 2 books as well! Hallie is the twin sister/manager of a famous country singer. Gavin is the youngest brother of Hallie’s now brother in law. Both are previous secondary characters getting their turn in the spot light.
Hallie and Gavin’s story is fun and follows what I would have expected from the “good girl” and the “bad boy” coming together so she can “break the rules.”
Both characters came into the story fairly well adjusted, but set in their ways. It was entertaining to see how they evolved with their time together. The secondary cast centers around Gavin’s brothers and their significant others and they were great foils for pointing out the obvious (at least to Gavin). If you have followed the series, you will appreciate seeing what everyone is up to now!
Who doesn't want to experience a little excitement now and then ... and if there was someone like Gavin to show you how? Yes, please!
Lemmon definitely knows how to deliver swoon-worthy heroes. Gavin is so supportive, sexy, and fun. Typical "confirmed bachelor" he doesn't know what's coming for him but we know :) He's gonna find out that his little bit of fun showing Hallie how to break the rules is going to turn into something much deeper. It was fun to be there to see him fall, to watch him discover a more loving and caring side to himself, not just the playful and somewhat detached guy he's always been. It was also enjoyable to see Hallie grow a little bit into herself, to be someone a little more sassy and daring. letting lose and taking chances.
(I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.)
Hallie and Gavin’s story in Good Twin Gone Country by Jessica Lemmon, book four in the Beaumont Bay series, is an emotional, steamy book. Even though this book is the fourth in the series it could be read as a standalone, I suggest that you read the other books in the series. I loved Hallie and Gavin as a couple and their cute moments. Good chemistry between Hallie and Gavin; a bit of opposites attraction. Hallie wants to come out of her comfort zone and Gavin is more than ready to help her. It doesn’t take long before Hallie is enjoying the time she spends with Gavin; especially the sizzle, magnetism, and fireworks.
Ms. Lemmon has written a book full of emotions, sizzling chemistry, wonderful dialogue. I really enjoyed this book.
Good Twin Gone Country, the conclusion to the Beaumont Bay series, is the calm after the storm that played out in the previous books. A gentle, slightly steamy, romance that brings Hallie and Gavin together over the course of breaking a few rules. While I didn't connect much with Hallie, I adored Gavin's character. He's protective, encouraging, and so charming. Everything you want from a romance hero! The scene where he finally shares his feelings with Hallie was so emotional-major swoon factor! While a lot of these Harlequin titles can be read as standalones, this series should definitely be read in order. The other characters are on page quite a bit, and I believe the reader will enjoy these extra moments with the couples if they're already familiar with them.
Good Twin Gone Country (Dynasties: Beaumont Bay #4) by Jessica Lemmon What a fantastic 4th book in this series - Hallie and Gavin's story. There is plenty of catching up with the couples in the first 3 books - but this can also be read as a stand alone. She is the "good twin" always in her sister's shadow and he is the bad boy bachelor not ever planning to settle down. There is lots of laughter, some tears, insecurity, learning to take chances, some drama and plenty of steam to get us to a wonderful HEA for all. Reasons I enjoyed this book: Funny Wonderful characters Entertaining Tear-jerker Easy-to-read Page-turner Great world building Romantic Steamy Happily Ever After
What a wonderful romance full of banter, romance, and workaholics.
I loved watching Hallie and Gavin’s romance grow from a not-exactly-nice comment he made to “Hallie’s twin”. I really liked Hallie, she was a smart and strong character. Gavin was a hot, handsome, smart man who knew what he wanted and figured out a way to have it…however…maybe they should have been more “careful” when they went after what they wanted.
Good Twin Gone Country can be read as a stand-alone, however…the Beaumont Bay series has characters that flow through all of the books in this series, and it is definitely better if you read them in order. 4.25 stars
Oh this book was so cute and fun to get lost in! Gavin is the bad boy, the brother with the reputation. Hallie is the overlooked sister and doesn't take chances. Until now. She feels safe with Gavin and wants him to show her how to have fun. I liked how she let him lead her and he never pressured her to do anything she didn't want to do. Soon, she was able to just be herself around him. And oh the chemistry between them! *fans self* Gavin saw her for who she was, and not her sister. She was given more than she ever thought she would all because she was willing to break a few rules! I can't recommend this book enough!
