This enemies-to-lovers romance is recommended for readers over 18. This is NOT a standalone and is part of a trilogy, but if you’re a fan of rich, alpha possessive bad boys, this book is for you!

With a thing for themes like enemies-to-lovers, bullying and suspense, Books by Woods will leave you gripping to your Kindle.

★Damien was layered I mean he came across as crass at times but I love the moments when he's stripped bare and is fumbling with coming to terms with his emotions but somehow he delivers towards the end. His character development in Knight was as beautiful as it was profound. How he rose to the occasion but still kept his villainous roots is really commendable. Granted that was a twat move, but this is testament to the fact that he is royally messed up and we're served that without any rose-tinted glasses.
★I could really connect with Joelle towards the end. Somehow the scene where Damien gives Jo his wallet struck within me . Jo is a whirlwind of a character. She is flawed but so goddamn strong and proud at all times. Her relationship with her sister was especially interesting. They're both presented as complicated characters and I loved that.
★OMG, I love how Jo and Damien celebrated Christmas. It was soo them.*squealing*
★All in all, Knight was a wonderful read because of the fact that you feel and fall for the characters. They aren't perfect, they're messy and so, so real. It's one hell of an intense story that I couldn't put down.
I thought book 1 was good, but I more than relished book 2, a darker, edgier love story. A combination of intrigue with high steam, a confident heroine, and an arrogant yet sinfully, delicious antihero, the book was absolutely explosive. This tale painted the tumultuous relationship of broken souls, Jo and Damien, in all its gritty, emotional detail with a backdrop of romantic suspense. It also questioned the death of Jo's parents, the influence of Damien's father, as well as interplay of the relationships with and between the supporting characters.
Blazing, Jo and Damien's relationship played out in the book as tension-filled, untamable passion, almost toxic. As much as their personalities were a match was as much as the push and pull of their polarity came into play. Damien was a smirking, aberrant, jealous / possessive alpha bad boy -- he is King -- while Jo was unconventional, vulnerable, empathetic but given to slight selfishness. Their flaws were complements to each other, unawares, and when they were together, they seemed made for each other. The highs were the highest, and the lowest were subzero. Drugs and alcohol abounded. But in the bedroom, they were incendiary, creating memorable love scenes underscored with a bit of kink.
I again enjoyed the interplay of characters both young and more mature, good and not so good, in the book. In truth, no one was truly good as the book didn't play to perfections, and instead everyone portrayed realistic characterization, flaws and all. I again appreciated the great diversity of characters from background to ethnicity.
This story was longer than the first book, but not slow or overly descriptive. It read like a medium burn containing appropriate levels of dialogue and prose at just the right pace. Just a bit anti-climatic toward the end until hit with that nail-bitting cliffhanger. Can't wait to read what comes next. I can't get enough of Jo and Damien. 4.5 stars
This story picks up days after the last book left off. I had a bit of an issue with that because the book is super long and although it is revealed what sort of happened it didn’t really make sense to me so I wish there was a full picture about what occurs at the house. Jo continues to be you’re extremely annoying heroine I wouldn’t even call her that I would just call her lead character. She is self-centered selfish annoying and obsessive compulsive doesn’t think things through and cares nothing about anyone or anything aside from what Damien is doing. Just like in the first book she continues to treat people who have been loyal who have had her back like crap well the person who treats her like crap she continues to follow around like a puppy dog. At one point someone calls her strong and I don’t see that at all high in my head compare her to Lake from fear me and I find lake to be a stronger character because she evolves throughout the books, but we can see what happens with Jo in the third book If she will continue down this path. I continue to be really proud of her little sister I think she’s going down the right path. I also found it super annoying just like in the first book she finds any excuse to run behind Damien even when it’s obvious that Damien has nothing to do with what she’s accusing him of.
Jo does some messed up things she needs to clean up so I hope she’s not left off the hook. And I found it annoying that she such a strong character yet she never retaliate to the one person who continues to do horrible things to her and I’m not referring to Damien because I don’t think he’s done anything that bad to her.
Christian continues to be a sweetheart and continues to be treated like crap which is annoying just like the rest of her friends I’m just glad her sister stuck up for herself.
Damien we get one POV chapter I wish there were more because I actually really like Damien I appreciate how self-aware he is and he is an alpha and I just love the way he carries himself it took me to get through this book to really appreciate his character but unlike the lead female I found Damien to be evolving and growing and I appreciate that.
We did leave off on a cliffhanger I’m not super hyped or excited to see what happened but I will be reading the next book i just need a break.
Ok overall I'm giving it 3 stars because the plot is good. However the charcters all of them this time is just disappointing. Jo is the biggest one of them all. Once again Damien is being cruel, ignoring you, and having his.minions bully you. He's accusing you of murdering his father as well and all you can think about is " Are we together? " Jo doesn't trust Damien and he doesn't trust her and yet she keeps going back to this boy!! She was glutton for punishment. She had opportunities to go to Cabo for Christmas, have a new relationship with someone else but the moment Damien had a bad day she ran to help him be with him. Willow her sister in my opinion has no loyalty she cared more about her social circle than her own sister. Jo best friends Allie there was no trust or honesty between them at all. Christian I was willing to give him credit for being a good guy, but that went to hell because the moment it got rough with Damien, Jo and Christian, his loyalties lied with Damien and he was the one causing the problems!! Throughout this whole book trust, and loyalty was scattered and scarce

Another smash hit L.J. Woods has on her hands! Holy moly this book was so incredibly good! From start to finish I didn’t know where it was going to go!
First Damien is crazy amazing! He has so much pain in his life but Jo loves him up and puts all the pieces back together within his broken heart! And Jo, wow, this girl is broken and captivating. She is a fighter but she also needs to let go too and let people in.
This is what makes this story so entertaining! This is book2 in the series and with that ending I need book3 so badly! I am loving these book, this one keeping you on the edge of your seat the entire time!
Book 2 , Omg. Joelle and Damien are infuriating, yet so addicting ! These two together are like gasoline and a flame. Explosive. Damien keeps fucking up and Joelle can’t seem to stay away. Their fire is so back and forth, and I can’t look away. I’m obsessed with these two. Obsessed with their 🔥 and obsessed with Damien’s infuriating nonsense he keeps dishing out . I’m here for it . All of it. I’m ready to plow through to the final in this trilogy . 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 🌶🌶🌶🌶/5

Knight is the second book in the Elite Royal Academy Series by L.J. Woods. It is a high school bully romance which has mature themes. The story is narrated through the eyes of Joelle Rowland but the prologue is from the perspective of Damien King.
I went into this book without reading the first book King and I could definitely tell that I was missing a lot of information so I recommend reading King first as this is not a standalone. I’m really looking forward to to going back and reading King because I really need to know how this all started.
I absolutely loved this story so much because it had me hooked from the very beginning. I loved the dynamic between Jo and Damien because I found it so intriguing. I like how Jo is strong, doesn’t back down from anything and stands up for those she cares about. Damien was cold, calculating and I found him to be seriously broken but he was definitely the perfect alpha bad boy.
I found that the other characters were a great addition because they were all interesting in their own way. I love Christian and I think there’s more to him than meets the eye. I would definitely be interested in knowing more about him.
This was a fantastic story full of secrets, twists and turns that left me craving for more. I love a bully romance with a possessive alpha and this book did not disappoint. I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens next.
I recieved an advanced copy for free, and this is my honest opinion.
Thank you to the author, L.J Woods, for providing a copy of Knight (Elite Royal Academy book 2). I have reviewed it 0honestly.
Damien King is poison... but he's also the antidote. Welcome back to Eden! The scandals are saucier, the bullying intense, emotions are flaring and the King is back to rule over his domain. Experience heat, hate and heartache in the second instalment of an insanely addictive high school bully romance. Have a bandage ready because this one is going to hurt.
Knight features, but is not limited to, the following themes: ○ High School Bully Romance New adult ○ Dark romance ○ Steamy ○ Bullying ○ Rich kids ○ Drug use
My overall rating for Knight is…
5 Stars!
Dangerous, desperate and disgustingly delicious! Knight is here to darken your souls. If you thought King was oh-so-bad (in a good way of course!) you better prepare yourself for all the burning and cramping sensations this book projects. I can't begin to describe my emotional state after reading this book! Woods killed me with King and Knight is kinking- I mean kicking- me so good. Damien and Jo are etched into my soul with the authors powerful words. But, really Woods?... That cliffhanger is utterly unforgivable!
ARC received from Booksprout and author in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced in any way.
This is a dark bully high school romance and not normally a genre I read but I was looking for a change / something different to read - well Knight was certainly it !!! This book is not a standalone and does end on a cliffhanger. I did miss Book 1 but was able to follow the storyline. I will be going back to check out more of this ( new to me ) author’s work ...
Great cover Angst and more angst Love the main characters of Damien King - The King and Joelle ( Jo ) aka Medusa Lots of interesting plot twists with great secondary characters
Sinister. Seductive. Sinful - Damien King is all three - described as a beautiful hot mess who has certainly met his match in Jo
I read this book in a 24 hour period - loved it and could not put it down !!

And the tale between King and Jo continues in Pawn, book two in the Elite Royal Academy series by L.J. Woods. The love/ hate, push/pull relationship between them goes on as they navigate their feelings towards one another. Grieving the loss of his father, King drowns his sorrows in alcohol and drugs. Being constantly wasted has him pushing Jo away, and possibly into the arms of his friend Christian. But will he get his act together before he loses her for good? Jo understands the grief King is going through but no matter how hard she tries, she can't seem to stay away from him. She wants to help him but he is intent on pushing her away. This story was a great continuation from book one. The chemistry between Jo and King is still as intense as ever and like magnets, they're immediately drawn to one another. But how will their relationship last if they're constantly hurting one another and refuse to acknowledge their true feelings for one another? Not only that, there seems to be another force out there with intentions to get rid of King but why? This story ended on another cliffhanger so I'm curious to see what the outcome will be.
These two kids, Damien and Jo, are crazy as heck. Sometimes I want to smack them both. The back and forth drives me crazy but then I remind myself...they’re teenagers in high school
The rooftop scene was glossed over a bit but perhaps on purpose as this would’ve gone to a darker place, but Jo - and Damien - has some serious issues to work through. And sometimes love isn’t strong enough to fix that. Ok I digress because this is really a whole other issue but hey the author brought it up 🤷🏻♀️
I’m hoping they get their s**t together and realize they can fight better and stronger together especially since all the adults are shady...
I just loved this!! I've been eagerly awaiting the second book in this series and it didn't disappoint. Damien is still his destructive, obsessed and controlling self and Jo is still trying to fix him and to learn to trust! I love their chemistry and the fire between them, they literally love to hate each other and just when you think their going to make it.....disaster strikes.....now I have to wait for the final book to find out what happens! This is a brilliant bully romance with great characters who are just as dark and broken as the storyline!!

I have been waiting for Knight for a while now and I was not disappointed! I have whiplash from how hot and cold Damien was. He is so possessive and jealous, yet he cares for Jo, even if he has a hard time showing it. There were so many times that I wanted to strangle him. And Jo, I freaking love her. She's bold, fierce and stands up for herself. The book does end on a cliffhanger and holy crap, what was that??? I know this book isn't even out yet, but I am eagerly waiting for book 3. It cannot get here quick enough 🤣
I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
I could barely wait for this series to continue after KING. The suspense is absolutely killing me! I already fell in love with Damien and Jo in the last book, but after this one I feel like I have a high-school crush all over again. The twists and turns paired with these steamy sex-scenes are keeping me on my toes, my head in the clouds, craving for more.
I'm an emotional (and horny) mess all through reading ... and while I thought the wait for KNIGHT was bad, after this cliffhanger the wait for PAWN was a whole different level!
Second book in the series A little longer than it's predecessor, but more intriguing, more dramatic & more everything Jo & Damien are the opposite of each other, but that's what attracts them to each other. Both the main characters are grey in shade ,no one is truly good, but that's life and that's what bring them together again and again Steamy sex & intelligent conversation makes this book worth a read Hats off to L J Woods to present this story as it is
This book is astonishing! This is the second book of the Elite Royal Academy trilogy. The books keep getting better. Damien continues to play his game with Joelle. They have an addiction to each other. Just when things start falling in place, the rug is pulled. Will Joelle ever get the justice for her parents death? Will Damien and Joelle ever have a "normal" relationship? I can hardly wait for the next book in this trilogy, Pawn.
I love the story and hate it at the same time. Jo and Damien are like a car wreck you can't look away from! The plot twists and everything going on drags you in. I'm off to book three to see what happens!
Loved it! This one was just as amazing as the first book. You definitely need to read book 1 though so you know who is who and what is going on in the story.

I was so happy that book 2 was out. I think it may have been even better than book 1! There was more information we wanted to know, but also left so many questions unanswered. The relationship between Damien and Jo is still sizzling. I can't believe the cliffhanger and can't wait for book 3.
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
