I received a copy of this book through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an honest review.

This is an ok cook book. I like when recipe books have pictures of the final product for each recipe and this book has very few photos.

There's a lot of simple recipes in this book. Some are more time intensive than others but they are generally doable. There's decent variety from breakfast to desserts.

Overall this is a good introductory cook book for people who aren't super visual.

Not really a fan of this one, personally. I thought it would be more based on whole foods but it uses a lot of processed ingredients like cream of mushroom soup. It reminds me of cookbooks from the 80's (yes, I've just dated myself), with recipes for things like tater tot casserole and that call for ingredients like a can of pop. I cook more from scratch and also need nutritional information for recipes, which this does not provide. There are also very few photos.

It'll be a good cookbook for beginner cooks as these recipes will still be loads healthier (and cheaper) than buying these foods premade, but I would suggest moving on from there to learning how to make your own sauces, rolls, etc. That really is simple and nothing beats the taste of truly homemade food, but this book will be great to head in that direction. There also are some recipes to learn to make some staples like ranch dressing, which I appreciate.

As I said, it'll be great for some, even if it wasn't a book I cared for much.

I received a digital review copy from the publisher.
