Another winner from Samantha A. Cole. Well written and gave us a different look at the BDSM world through the eyes of a Domme. The story brought another wide array of characters into the life of the Trident Security team. Never a dull moment with all the weaving of drama, love and sex. Good pace and a nice twist near the end.

The Story of Charlotte and Mike Donovan is very different of what we've read on the trident series as Charlotte is the Domme in this relationship. BUT it is also a very beautiful story and very well written.. so if the reader doesn't really know how a Domme relationship works, in this book you'll definitely see this beautiful side of the lifestyle and relationship..
Charlotte is a member of the covenant, a Domme and also a parol officer she is very determine to help the felons who need a second chance by helping them to find good jobs and stay out of trouble..
Mike Donovan is the brother of Jake Donovan the handsome snipper who happens to be so in love with Nick Sawyer.. but Michael didn't know he was a sexual submissive, he didn't know what he wanted out of relationship, he always thought what his brother and friends did was kind of crazy but respect them anyway.. until one day at his bar.. Charlotte was there with her friends celebrating a party and saw what nobody knew, not even mike knew.. his submissive nature, specially whenever she was around...
Charlotte offered to help Michael explore his submissive nature, with an expiration date on their contract. but what they didn't know was their chemistry and dynamic will change their game forever, their attraction is off the charts and their feelings even more.. the question now is, are they really prepare to tear up the contract when the expiration date comes?
love the story!! so many emotions but what i really loved about the book was how Samantha took this story and shown the power of the submissive and in this case the power of a male submissive. The love between a man and a women, it is not different than any other.. that the love between a Domme and a Sub doesn't mean to be weak (a lot of people think being a submissive is being weak specially on Male subs.. totally wrong)
The strong connection between them, the communication, a huge key to the BDSM lifestyle. the way she explained in so much details, the scenes and what is require to get to a certain level of trust, for you to reach that strong connection between Dom/Domme and Sub
The story has a little dose of action and life threatening events, specially with a felon whom charlotte happened to be in charge of. lots of shooting and angst moments in that scene but you will learn so much in that few pages and it will keep you eating your nails for sure ..
you are also going to understand so much about Jakes and Mike's background. specially their relationship with their mother.. i always thought she wasn't a good mother because of their story with their father.. but i was so wrong and i'm so glad their story came out clean and better than i expected.. Emma (Mike and Jakes mom) was a beautiful woman, with an amazing heart and also so much fun to read about..
expect to see a lot of old characters from trident Security.. a few glimpses of Jenn and Dough who i can't wait to see and read their love story soon.. we also get to see Nick, Devon and a few more..

Once again, I was completely taken in by the story of Charlotte..aka. Mistress China and Mike. Even though Jake is his brother, Mike in not in the lifestyle so he can't understand why he reacts to Charlotte the way he does. He's been interested in her but knows that she doesn't play or date anyone who isn't in the lifestyle. When he reacts to her like a submissive, Charlotte takes a chance and talks to him, even though she knows that if Mike comes to her, his brother Jake will not like it. Without giving to much away, Samantha Cole writes in such a way that her readers are introduced to a female Domme and a male submissive who has never understood what the fuss was about. He's about to learn and what a ride it is! Of course there is some danger along the way and things happen but will it help or hurt the budding relationship between Charlotte and Mike? And what is Jake going to think about his brother submitting to Charlotte? Let's just say that I am thrilled with this story and loved it all. The characters are sooooo believable and the story is very well written. We see people from the previous books and get to stay caught up in their lives. I hope Samantha Cole keeps writing because she has a HUGE fan in me and many others.

OMG. Another winner for Samantha Cole!
I have loved Mike, Jake's older brother, since the first book. I knew there was angst there but he's just such a good guy! I didn't see him with Charlotte but oh boy, does it work!
Charlotte, aka Mistress China is a force to be reckoned with as both a parole officer and a Domme. She doesn't take crap off anyone, despite her tiny stature. She liked Mike, the owner of the pub she frequents and the brother of one of the Doms at the club, well enough but didn't think much of him, until she really looks and sees his submissive nature battling with his alpha personality. She's intrigued and now that her eyes are opened, she can't stop looking. Approaching him with an offer to help him explore the lifestyle has her tangled in knots, the good kind!
Mike has been attracted to Charlotte for quite some time but knowing she's a Domme has always put her off limits. He's not in the lifestyle and frankly doesn't understand its appeal. but when Charlotte makes him an offer to explore with her, he can't help himself!
These two were dynamite together and I savored every minute!

When Charlotte a local Domme and Whip Master discovers that Mike the local bar owner is a submissive she makes Mike an offer he finds hard to refuse. With both humour and a lot of well-researched information, the author takes us on a very entertaining journey filled with family tension as well as drama, suspense, and intrigue. A new favourite of mine thats sure to be a favourite of yours as well.

The most realistic fiction story you might ever read...
Entertaining Distraction is yet another amazing story by Samantha A. Cole and the second book in one of several series that focus on a group of Dominant men who all work together and/or co-own a BDSM club. Each book in the series introduces you to these men, more in depth, and how they find the loves of their lives. This is the story of Michael "Mike" Donovan, the owner of an infamous bar that the "sexy six-pack" of men can always be found in while letting down their hair off duty. In this book, Mike takes a chance to welcome love into his own life instead of watching those around him find it. What I loved about this story, aside from the hot romance and even hotter sex scenes, is its reality. Everything that happens in this book is entirely plausible and could happen to someone in real life. In this book, like many others written by Samantha Cole, you will gain a unique perspective on the world of BDSM. Instead of the traditional male romancing female roles contained in many romance novels, you will experience the reverse. In this book, it is Charlotte Ross aka. Mistress China, who seeks out a relationship with Mike Donovan. You'll also get to experience what it means to have a healthy vs. unhealthy relationship within the context of the BDSM lifestyle. It's refreshing changes like these that take the book from fantasy into reality and make the story more believable. OMG, the dynamic between Michael and Mistress China (Charlotte) is powerfully potent and erotic. Their scenes together are so sexy and sensual. They ring true without any artifice. The evolvement from a D/s dynamic to falling in love was inevitable but heartwarming. With the sub stories about Michael and Jake's mother, Jenn's move to a new career and possibly a new love and Nick and Jake's ever growing love and commitment to one another, this romance had a easy going, true life feel to it. Add in a touch of danger and you've got the quintessential reading experience.

Mike Donavan , has been attracted to Charlotte for some time now, but knowing she is in the BDSM lifestyle has kept him from approaching her , he is familiar with the lifestyle especially since his brother Jake is a Dom at The Covenant along with Charlotte but Mike has never had any intrest .
Charlotte usually does not play outside of the club, but when she suddenly realizes that the Alpha protective Mike Donavan is also a submissive she can not resist offering to introduce him to the lifestyle. Just Fabulous. Ms. Cole’s series and spin offs are an absolute must read. They are all fun, sexy, romantic, suspenseful and definitely written with Ms. Cole’s wicked wit and sense of humor. OH and don’t even get me started on the characters: OH MY GOSH they are all just too hummy for words. Of course they all have the looks but they also have such a wonderful comradery with each other as well as caring, loving and giving personalities to go along with their definite Dominant or Subordinate characteristics.
As for Entertaining Distraction, this is a book a lot of us Trident Security Freaks have been waiting on and it did not disappoint. Getting to learn Mistress China’s back story and seeing her in full Domme mode as well as her natural nurturing mode was absolutely amazing. There are a few twist that I didn’t see coming, I mean Charlotte - AKA Mistress China coming on to Macho Mike - HOLY COW along with a few others I won’t say and spoil for readers. But I will say this is one very well written book and one that I highly recommend. For that matter I highly recommend all the Trident Security Series and the spin-off series as well. Simply put, I give Entertaining Distraction 2 Thumbs Up for being a 5 Star Must Read Book in a Must Read Series.

Can I just say WOW?! This has to be the best that Samantha has ever wrote! I was pulled in instantly and couldn’t put this down. I was long awaiting Charlotte’s story and this exceeded all my expectations. One of the things I liked best about this was that Samantha really defined what BDSM is really about. The mental and emotional connection is the strongest part of it. Not just physically. I’m in the lifestyle myself and she hit the nail on the head with this. I have to say it’s so much hotter than the others in the series. I can’t wait to see what Samantha has in store for us next!

Whenever a new Covenant story is released I have to drop everything and read it. Like the others, this one did not disappoint. I was waiting for Mistress China’s story and this was perfect. When Charlotte realized Mike was submissive, she knew she wanted him. Mike was attracted to Charlotte but could he do what she asked? I enjoyed their story as they both realized what they wanted in life. Add in others from prior books, drama from Charlotte’s job and Mike’s family and you have a story I could not put down.

Entertaining Distraction is one of those books you can’t put down. Samantha A. Cole has a way of writing that makes the reader feel like part of the story. She has managed to impress this reader every time. Each new book seems to exceed expectations. Her latest does not disappoint. Charlotte and Mikes story gives the reader a peek into the lives of Domme and sub in the BDSM lifestyle. You can expect endearing characters, a little humor, love, action, and hotness. When I heard that Sam was writing a book about Mistress China and Mike, I couldn't have been more thrilled. This is the story we least excepted between the two characters. She NAILED it. ED grabbed me from page one...This is a different story line that we are all use to and that is what makes this book so much better.... I love Sam's books!! You never know what to expect from her and her characters. BRAVO for pulling off another terrific book!!!!!!!

Loved getting to know more about Jakes brother and mom. I am such a fan of Samantha A. Cole’s writing. Her character development is spot on, in that you really get to know the characters! Back to the Trident Security Compound! Why did I stop reading this series?? It's SO spicy and every book has such a great plot. Loved seeing more of Mistress China and learning more about her character. Her and Mike together was just wow! The balance between them and their personalities was so good and I loved seeing their relationship develop. Will definitely be reading the rest of the books in the Trident world asap. If you're looking for a spicy and suspenseful series, this is it!

I’ve been wanting to read Mistress China’s book for some time. Mike is Jake’s older brother and a firm fixture within the series. To say these two were paired, was a surprise, is an understatement. But oh boy does it work! It’s entertaining and highly addictive to read and I couldn’t put it down .. it’s not only a surprising pairing, but the way the story evolves is not what I was expecting at all. This book is full of intrigue and drama, highly recommended this book and series

I absolutely love this book!! Samantha A Cole is a wonderful writer! I was so happy to read Charlotte and Mike's story. Mistress China has always been one of my favorite characters from the Trident Security series. It was great to find out a little of her back story in this book. She deserves to be happy.

I honestly wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this story or not....I'm not a huge fan of domme stories. I should have had more faith as I've loved all of the stories in this series and this one was no different. I loved the scene at the club that showed what a true dom and submissive looked like - it was a perfect addition to this story. I loved Mike and Charlotte as a couple.

I have been waiting on Mistress China's book for a while now! I was hoping she would get her HEA with a good guy.
Mike is Jake's older brother, so he is a character I know. I honestly never thought he would EVER be interested in the lifestyle, but am glad that he did.

I have been waiting for Mistress China's story for so long I always knew it would be great but Samantha Cole has taken it to a new level. OMG the chemistry is off the chart between Mike and Charlotte, the love story is beautiful but what tore me apart and made this story so beautiful was the real respect and love Samantha gave to her characters. They were real people with real concerns, flaws and angst. There cares became mine as I read, I wanted to understand how Charlotte became how and who she was. This book was so much more than I imagined. It brought the whole family dynamic into play Jake, Mike and their mom's relationship so well done. The Trident Security Family and the loyalty they feel towards each other, how Charlotte let everyone know beforehand that Mike and her would be together. The respect and communication towards everyone was amazing. This book is a great addition to the books before it and will forever be one of my favorites for the love story is so inherent and strong between the main characters.

I'm fully convinced Samantha can do no wrong when it comes to writing an amazing book!! I have been looking forward to Charlotte and Mike's book. I have been a die hard Jake and Nick fan since the beginning and thought nobody would ever come close to their taking their 1st place, however Mike and Charlotte did just that. I've never read a book with a Domme and was a bit iffy of it to beginning with, but this book was EVERYTHING I was hoping for and more!! I can't wait for more from Samantha.

Finally Charlotte “Mistress China” Roth gets her story. She has been an engaging peripheral character in this series and I’m happy to see her get to tell her story. Mike on the other hand was an afterthought to me; no biggie,not interesting,a bland character used to plump up the plot. I am happy to say Samantha Cole was just keeping him in the shadows so he could explode into the forefront

I absolutely love this series. In this book we see not only our principal couple but most of the sexy six pack too! Mistress China, aka, Charlotte is a feisty sexual Dominant but also a parole officer too. She cares about her parolees and helps where she can. Mike is Jake Donovan’s older brother and owner of Donovan’s bar. It’s quite by chance Charlotte finds out that Mike’s a sexual submissive. What unfurls is a story full of drama, intrigue, sadness and love. Kept me hooked from page one. Highly recommend this book and series.

But it's her intensive and thorough research into the beautiful and captivating world of BDSM that grabs me every time. This book is full of unexpected twists and turns. Mike and Charlotte's relationship is so unusual and unexpected that I kept expecting it to implode every time Charlotte pushed Mike to take another step forward. The depth of emotion, connections, and growth of each character captured me and wouldn't let go. Honestly? I couldn't put the book down! I stayed up all night to finish it because I had to know how it ended. Predictable isn't something Samantha Cole does. She's a superb storyteller, and her books are riveting. It's evident from the caliber of her writing that she researches every aspect of the subject matter until she's as conversant with it as the experts with whom she consults. I've been hooked on her books since I first found her as an author. She's at the top of her game with this one. To give Entertaining Distraction anything less than five stars would (please excuse the pun) a crime! Congratulations, Ms. Cole. You've demonstrated your mastery of this genre once again.
