The Most Dangerous Inmate
This true crime book is a very well researched book, an extremely good read and a real Page turner, but certainly not for the faint hearted as it is about an extremely violent perpetrator/murderer.
The book is about Serial Killer who went from town to town and becomes fixated on a women and when they do not reciprocate there feeling he goes into a wild rage. Benjamin Pedro Gonzales used at least 12 aliases.
Benjamin signature technique was multiple stab wounds to his victims of these there was Dondi Johnson who was viciously knifed to death and set afire by James Angel. In March 1991, in a New York City strip club, dancer Yvonne Hausley, 22, was hacked to death by Tony Perillo. In April 1992, near California's famous Livermore labs, fortyish Barbara Muszalski died screaming under the blade of handyman "Robert" Gonzales. In all three cases, the alleged killer was the same person Benjamin Pedro Gonzales.
Benjamin Pedro Gonzales turned the system upside down and attacked his lawyer, other prisoners, fixated on a lady doctor and took seven years to be brought to justice where he eventually was given a life sentence in California's maximum-security prison at Corcoran, where he occupies a cell opposite Charles Manson, and where his jailers call him "the most dangerous inmate."

Horrifying!

That one person could have been fostered by another to become such a vicious animal is testimony to the fact that we humans are merely one step above animals on an evolutionary scale. You wonder how one person's depravity to another, like his guy's father in abusing him, could have been so sick as to produce a human being like Gonzales, what treatment was so far over the line of savagery to cause a young mind to snap and revert to such animalistic brutality? The grand California social experiment has been a gross failure to have produced such a grand roster of depraved humans as have emanated from it's cities & towns.

This book was really gripping as the crimes and investigations were unfolding, but less so after the murderer was caught. At one point he decided to feign insanity and the extensive quotes of his (bogus) ramblings got pretty tiresome.
