Second chances don’t come around every day, but Tucker Weston is mine.
Ten years ago Tucker reeled me in with his sexy smolder. But he cut me loose after I fell hard for him that summer on my family’s ranch. I left without looking back. Went to chase my dreams and became Sam Ryker, world champion bull rider.
But I never forgot the first man I loved.
Now, I’m back at my family’s ranch and he’s here in front of me, just as rugged and hot as he’s always been. And though I’ve sworn to hate him for breaking my heart, I want him more than I should. All those promises I made to myself fly right out the window. Because when I'm near him, I can’t think. I can’t make the right choices.
Trouble is, my family needs me here, and I can't afford a distraction like Tucker Weston. It'll cost more than my heart this time around.
But all it takes is one kiss before he's got me roped tight yet again.
Roped Tight is a standalone M/M romance set in the Ryker Ranch world.
USA Today bestselling author Kim Loraine was raised a Navy brat but spent most of her life growing up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. A proper Washingtonian, she's addicted to coffee, doesn't let a little rain ruin her day, and thinks the sun is a gift from God. When not chasing her three little minions around, Kim spends her time writing, reading, and binge watching Doctor Who.
2.50 stars story. This started great but fizzled out quickly at the 50% mark. This author should stick with MFR. I only finished it because of the male narrators. 🤤😋🤤😋
“Hey, I kissed you, I think I'm gay, are you gay too?”
3.25⭐️
Tucker and Sam’s story was a super fast paced low effort cowboy romance. Now I didn’t read the rest of the series but with this book I think it’s pretty clear I wasn’t missing out on much. Honestly the plot of the entire series, is a good one but I feel like it’s pretty much lack luster with how little is given to us. This was so fast paced you couldn’t even get attached or feel any type of actually true connection between the characters. The book mostly went from one plot point to the other without giving the story time to breath or any depth which is sad because the idea/plot is one that has a whole lot of potential. Either way if you are looking for a no thought needed read I suppose this will due. It’s not a bad book it just has so much potential but it just didn’t grab hold of it.
My little romantic heart couldn't be happier right now.
This book has everything I want in a cowboy romance and so much more. If I were rich, I'd quit my job right now, book a one-way flight to Montana, and spend the rest of my life on a remote ranch like this one. I'm serious. This is no joke.
Sam and Tucker were perfect for each other. They might have been a bit quick with confessing their love after only spending two weeks together, but the fact that their feelings didn't waver even after ten years apart totally makes up for it.

A MM 2nd Chance Cowboy Romance Which packed the Punch with Feels, Steam, Romance & Fun Family! Sam & Tucker are awesome! Opposites attract❤. DEVOURED yet Savored this within 5hrs. #My 1st by Kim, Loved Sam's Family, Will surely check out the other books in the Ryker Ranch!
Sam Ryker is a Pro Bull Rider & a Closeted Gay WHILE Tucker is The Ryker's Ranch Hand, an Awesome Roper & Have been out Since Teenage. Their Sparks are combustible But They've history... We see a little of their NOW, How Sam's career is over & he's home to stay. How Tucker has become a part of the Ryker family. The Animosity b/w Sam (Mostly by him) & Tucker. Then we get their Whole history in one go, Around 35% of the full book.
10yrs ago, Young Gentle, Kind & Hardworking Sam kissed the Mysterious, Intense & Lovable Tucker. Awkward days, Talks, Sexy days in Cabin. Tucker was Sam's 1st Time with The Same sex. Sam fell in love...But Tucker hadn't wanted to stop Sam from following his dreams so he let him go.
Now, 10yrs later, they've met again, Hardened by time. I can see something happened b/w The Two in the previous books, that Tucker was hurt & Sam helped him... Both had tried to move on from eachother, neither could. But Sam hates Tucker (of course😅). The fight tension was as fierce as their Sexual one. A Reality Show is also happening on their Ranch alongside everything.
Tucker wants a 2nd chance so he has to earn Sam's Trust again (Sam doesn't make it easy for Tuck!). Its Wonderful how Tucker open ups to Sam. Sam's Family have accepted Tucker's Sexuality readily, then why is he hiding? Sam's asking himself that & Soon Outs to his family. I loved their Reactions! Other than Tristan, everyone had an inkling *Chuckle*, His mama's amazing! So much happens, When Sam finally Let's Tucker in, it's gorgeous!❤ These two deserve the happiness😍.
There's the Show ongoing, Hate & Tension, Attraction still Fiery, Hazel's advice, Jealousy, Longest ass day, Broken, Sunrise Rides & Talk, Ambulance & Fear, The Kiss, Coming out to Mama, Tucker's Night out, The Masturbation Discovery, Tucker admitting Love, Earn trust, Vulnerability, Sexy (& 1st!) times, Start of Us, The Fire Surprise, Coming out to Siblings, Happy times, Inevitable Love, Secret Reporter Shit Show, Rash decisions, I love yous *Swoon*, Talk endgame, Sera's Shenanigans, Ranch Show, Public Outing & Claim...
We've also a few Heart-racing scenes due to the Fiasco The Undercover Reporter causes, Who wants to Out Sam to the world (Does he succeed?). I'm glad that Subsequently, Our Gang handles it together. It also leads to some awesome love Realisations for Tuck & Sam, so I'm Merry! Days after, It's Swoony how Sam Publicly claimed Tucker!! The Epilogue was Beautiful, Loved seeing their Fun future❤.
P.s. I'm happy that Sam's relation with his sis Sera heals here & so excited for the New series starting by Sera's book! **ARC Received for a Honest Review.** FB Page | Instagram | Bookbub | FB group
Loved this awesome MM love story. I'm totally swooning over Sam & Tucker. Can I have more of them please? I'm so not ready for their story to be over. Amazing Dual Narration by Aaron Shedlock, Teddy Hamilton & Stella Hunter. Kim Loraine is a new to me author. I will definitely be listening to more of her books in the future.
I liked this book. I thought it started out really strong but kind of let me down after they finally got back together. I’m sure this is the only book I’ll read in this series since the rest are MF romances.
3 stars for the story & 5 stars for this wonderful audio so overall 4 stars!
This was a good book. I really liked both the friends to lovers/second chance trope. I also really liked both Tucker & Sam they made for really great MC's. I think perhaps it was just too surface for me. I wanted to feel more and really get into the nitty gritty a bit, and we just did not get that. Yes, we saw the heartbreak for a beat and then we saw them come back together after 10 years apart, but I didn't really have any time to feel any of it. It was still good though, and I would recommend for anyone looking for a light read with characters you will really adore and side characters galore that you will also adore.
Sam is the champion bull rider of the family. In Roped Tight we find out why he stayed away for all these years and the heart ache he was going through before finally finding his HEA.
This story bares it all, Sam´s first experience loving a man, having his heartbroken by that man, and finding his way back to this man. Realizing Tucker is his everything.
I loved his and Tucker’s story so much. Their story is the most emotional one for me as their love is so raw and real. I was only a few chapters in, and my heart was already flooded with emotions. It was so beautiful to experience their journey from initial heartbreak to happiness. Well, let’s not forget the steam and passion between these two, as oh my cowboy, it´s HOT!!!
I am also just so in love with this family and how much love they have for each other. Everyone is welcome and loved equally. Mama Ryker is my hero and its true what they say, a mother knows!
Aaron Shedlock and Teddy Hamilton are the perfect Sam & Tucker. There is so much emotion and chemistry in their performances that made me fall in love even harder. I also loved that Stella Hunter was back to narrate the female Rykers.
Kim Loraine wrote a beautifully emotional second chance MM romance that had my heart captured from the get-go.
This past week I fell in love with Cowboys. Kim Loraine´s stories around the Ryker brothers, their loves, their mama, and sister Sera had my heart ache in the most beautiful way. I don’t want this to end!
Was soll ich sagen? 10 vergeudete Jahre in puncto Liebe.
Roped Tight is a passionate and heartwarming second chance romance. Told along side the supporting cast of the tight knit Ryker family, Sam and Tucker's love ebbs and flows, as they learn to forgive and forget and to love and live.
Filled with lots of steamy, snarky and swoon worthy moments, Kim Loraine ticks all the boxes with her debut MM Romance.
I was very excited to received an early copy of this book. Ms. Loraine is now a one-click author for me. From the moment I picked up the first book Saddle Up, I fell in love hard with the Rykers family. Cowboy romance is generally not my go to genre but Ms. Loraine’s incredible writing and the stellar performances by Aaron Shedlock and Stella Hunter helped me lose myself in the series that I felt like all the characters are real leaving me wanting more.
Roped Tight is the fourth book from Ryker Ranch series and follows Sam and Tucker’s love story. Second chance romance is one of my favourite tropes and this book has everything I wanted and more. A beautifully written MM romance that surpassed all of my expectations. I could not put this book down. It’s so good that I lost count the number of times I had to utter OMG. It’s a heartwarming love story not just between the two main characters but also among the Rykers. Certain moments in the book that continued to tug at my heartstrings is the relationship between Mama Ryker and her children. I especially got teary-eyed particularly in chapter 12.
This is a definite reread once the audiobook comes out which will be narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Aaron Shedlock with special appearance from Stella Hunter as Mama Ryker.
I devoured this book! I didn't want it to end! Sam and Tuckers story is sweet and sexy! The narration in duet with Aaron Shedlock, Teddy Hamilton and Stella Hunter is perfection! I have loved ALL the Ryker ranch novels and they will be relistens for sure! Aaron Shedlock saying "Darlin" is just swoony! Lol! So looking forward to the new Wild series and Sera's story!!
It's not an exaggeration to say I was dying to get my hands on this book-in ALL formats. I wanted to hear it, I wanted to see the words on the page. Let me tell you, this did NOT disappoint. This second chance romance is full of heart and heat and gave me a lovely trip back to the Ryker Ranch. I loved every moment of this experience-it's one of my favorite books I've read and listened to this year. It's simply fantastic.
Second chance romances are a weakness of mine-and this was done just right. I believed the reasons keeping the couple apart initially, and I believed in them resolving that to get back together. Sam and Tucker have an undercurrent between them that is just too strong to deny. I loved seeing them rediscover that, and work through their past.
That undercurrent, tension and sexual chemistry between these two is just off the charts. These two have some incredible sexy times-but that isn't the whole book. They are just as fascinating and compelling outside the bedroom. I loved, loved, loved cheering these two on throughout the book.
I said this was a trip back to the Ryker Ranch, and for me it was. But if you haven't read the other Ryker Ranch books you can still enjoy this! Though I will tell you to run back and grab the others-you won't regret it. I personally loved getting to see everyone again; especially Momma.
I also mentioned that I listened to this book as well as read it. Holy cow the audio for this is OFF THE CHARTS!!! If you are an audio fan, RUN, do not walk, to grab this book. I have already relistened to it; it's that good. Teddy Hamilton and Aaron Shedlock just bring this book to life so beautifully!
This was one of my most anticipated books of 2021 and it more than lived up to my expectations. I loved everything about this book. It is one I will come back to over and over and would give it ten stars if I could. I absolutely HIGHLY recommend this book!!
Wow this was my favourite books of the whole series. Tucker and Sam make me swoon. Love that the family knew without asking whole bunch of questions I was just letting him be until he was ready to say whatever he wanted to say or not say. That is family and Tristan’s reaction cracked me up I loved it. End of story fantastic.

I would really like Sarah’s story but seems like we’re gonna have to wait and that’s OK.
I love the narration Aaron and Teddy I mean perfection.
I thought this would be a fun, queer cowboy romance but I ended up being disappointed. Hardly any time was spent on the formative scenes that would have built a romantic connection between the two mcs and instead more time was spent on scenes that added little the story. The romance was very much insta-love and I just didn't find it believable. I know this is the fourth book in the series, so you could argue that time was spent building up the connection between the characters in previous books, but I still think that if you're going to write a book about two particular characters, their development should happen in that book, not others.
It's a comfy read being back on the Ryker ranch again, especially reading about these 2 men finding each other again after 10 years, being open and honest with themselves and the supportive Ryker family. So happy for Tucker and Sam to have each other.
Was this the worse book I’ve ever read, No, but it surely was NOT the best. It’s a great try for someone who doesn’t typically write M/M, but it was soo boring and I felt zero connection and chemistry between the male leads.
4.5 Stars for Roped Tight This is the first book I have read by Kim Lorraine but it certainly won’t be the last because I fell in love with her characters and her strong writing. This is Tucker Weston and Sam Ryker’s second chance at love, their story is a beautifully written, MM romance that has all the feels, it’s steamy, it’s romantic and there is plenty of fun mixed into this entertaining read. Sam and Tucker have known each other since they were teenagers, now a few years down the track Sam is a pro bull rider and Tucker is a ranch hand on the family ranch, feelings run high and the chemistry they share is scorching hot but the problem here is Sam has yet to admit to the world that he is gay. Sam is now home for good and that means seeing the man who occupies his dreams on a daily basis so will second time around work for this couple or will Sam insist on staying in the closet... This is a romance about love and trust, it’s about being patient and it certainly has all the feels. I loved the story, I loved the characters and I highly recommend you one click this gem.
This story is so raw, vulnerable, steamy, and passionate. Sammy and Tucker's story is such a loving one while they find their way and them finally admitting their feelings. I adored their love. And I also loved the appearance of previous characters and their banter. That was fun.
Ahhh!!! I was so excited for this book! I love Kim Loraine’s Ryker Ranch series, I mean you can’t beat a good steamy sexy cowboy book! This book is all of that and so much more. Kim gives her characters so many layers that they almost jump off the page while you are reading. There were points I felt like I was on the Ryker Ranch.
This is Sam Ryker’s story, and it’s a good one. He fell in love with Tucker 10 years ago when he had to make a lot of decisions about his future. But as life goes, situations happen and lives go in different directions, but with all Ryker ranch stories all those different directions always lead back home.
Grab this book, spend some time with the Ryker’s, fall in love with Sam and Tucker! I know I did, and I’m better for it!
What a book, I read this book in hours. It's my first MM book for are really long time and God how I have missed this troupe. This book was a beautiful second chance romance. One that stood the test of time and distance. One that you could see was fated. As the saying goes. If you love someone let them go, if they return to you, they are yours forever. And this story just proves that.
Sam and Tucker's romance is one that is full of struggle, angst and pure passion. But it was so much than just being based on a love affair. This book is about family, being part of a team and loyalty. And for me those were more important and made this book that much better. Now don't get me wrong the romance, the push and pull fueling the passion was brilliant and off the chart. But I loved the story for more than just that.
I don't know if it's just me but MM romances have a little something special about them. It might be that two men throwing there heart and soul at something, being vulnerable not only to each other but to the world. Is what I find really special.
This book is total recommend from me. One that I will tell the world to read. And as a new to me author, I will definitely be reading her words again.
10 years ago, Sam was a young guy just beginning to explore his desires and sexuality with Tucker. He was in the closet, but in deep with Tucker. Then Tucker let him go and he and Sam haven't really been in the same place at the same time for 10 years. Now Sam is back, thanks to the end of his pro bull riding career, and Tucker's still on his ranch. Tucker wants a second chance, or at least a chance to explain himself, but Sam's having none of it. Will Tucker's persistence, and their still hot attraction be enough to thaw Sam's heart a little? Enough to let Tucker in even if just for an explanation?
Sam's not the same man he was when he left with a broken heart. He's not only 10 years older, but he's harder, both in body and in spirit. He's not about to give Tucker a chance to break his heart again, nor is he willing to step out of the closet the way Tucker did. No, it's best for everyone if Sam steers clear of the only man he's ever loved. But he didn't count on their attraction flaring to life, and for old feelings to come roaring back. Is he going to let Tucker back in, even if it means he could be hurt again?
Sam and Tucker are pure fire together! Though Sam was still hurting, Tucker was determined and persistent, and the love they still felt eventually won out. Roped Tight is a hot, deeply emotional second chance love story with two seriously lovable guys, what's not to devour?
Ryker Ranch is one of my favorite places! I’ve been waiting for Sam’s story, so I was very excited to receive an #AdvancedListenerCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Sam and Tucker are ice and fire. Each character is complex and they are drawn to each other with an intense physical attraction, but also as kindred spirits who are part of a large extended family. Ten years ago they parted on bad terms, with anger and misunderstanding separating them. Now that Sam is back on the ranch they are still drawn to each other. They have lost a lot of time, but this story is all about healing from that and letting go of lost time to make the most out of your future. It’s a beautiful love story of 2 hearts who belong together (and sexy cowboys). It also warms my heart every time Momma Ryker gets after someone for swearing and how the family sticks together.
Beyond the beautiful love story and the wonderful Ryker family, let us not forget that there are plenty of sexy cowboys in this series! You don’t want to miss Tucker all oiled up displaying his skills on horseback. You cannot beat sexy shirtless cowboys!
Aaron Shedlock and Teddy Hamilton narrate this story beautifully in DUET with Stella Hunter. Duet done well adds such a wonderful layer to the story that lets you stay immersed without losing track of who is speaking, especially in a male-male romance. Aaron, Teddy, and Stella are just top notch narrators who did a FANTASTIC job!
Let’s talk about extras! Kim loves us because at the end of this book we get wonderful extra content with George and Sandy’s story - which is sooooo good! We also get a sneak peek into the next spin-off series with Sarah’s story and the trouble she gets herself into - love her!! We also get a sneak peek of Ignite, narrated by Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter, and I’m so excited I almost can’t stand it! Can we get a hallelujah for a cowboy fireman?!?
I received an #AdvancedListenerCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I can't resist a cowboy or a second chance romance, so as soon as I read the blurb for Roped Tight, I knew I had to read it. I haven't read the other books set in the Ryker Ranch world, but this one is a standalone, so I didn't have to worry about trying to catch up with storylines. This is also my first book written by Kim Loraine, and after what I've seen here, it won't be my last. Sam and Tucker are absolutely combustible, both in the past and current day, and we do get both. I'm not always a fan of so much backstory, but it totally worked in this book. Maybe that's because I couldn't get enough of them or maybe it's the writing. Either way, it worked. Both guys are completely lovable, and they just feel like they belong together. What I mean by that is I felt like they belong together - the whole way through this one. These two are the kind of couple you can't help but root for. The story is compelling, the romance has all the feels and then some, and the characters are interesting and lovable. That's a darn good combination in my opinion, and I will be checking out Kim Loraine's other books while I wait for the next one.
