Mariah Larkin is living her childhood dream of hitting sunny beaches on the weekends with her doting boyfriend. When she loses her job and breaks up with her boyfriend in the same week, she’s forced to think about the reality of moving back in with her parents in rural Idaho.
On a weekend excursion in Sun Valley, she meets Levi Grant, a smokejumper who not only dives from airplanes into the center of forest fires, but also knows her darkest secrets, secrets that even she hasn’t uncovered. With his help, she conquers not only the Grand Canyon, but her own insecurities. Will discovering Mariah’s true identity bring them closer together or cause her to resent Levi for knowing the truth and keeping it from her?
Proud to be a Cheesehead. I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. If you are able to withstand the frigid winter air, Wisconsin has some of the most down to earth, honest people around. I passed a very happy childhood there, climbing trees, and running along the river.
Proud to be a McEachern Indian. At fifteen, we moved to a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. The warm, Southern culture touched my heart.
Proud to be a Cougar. I attended Brigham Young University, where I graduated with a BS in Human Development.
Proud to be a Cuate. I spent a year and a half in Guatemala as a Christian missionary, spreading the message of hope and love. The Guatemalan people are some of the kindest people you will meet.
Proud to be a Human Resource Professional. I was employed for many years in the field of Human Resources.
Proud to be a Wife and Mother. And I thought that Human Resources was a demanding career. Nothing has been more difficult or more rewarding than being a wife and mother. My happiness is centered in the happiness of my family.
Proud to be an Author. Writing has been a source of great joy in my life. I hope to share with my readers a piece of myself in every novel. I hope to uplift and entertain others through my written word.
Mariah had grown up in Idaho and she left as soon as she could for the big city. She was happy. She had a good job and a wonderful boyfriend, or so she thought. When she lost her job, she decides to take a trip to Sun Valley, Idaho with her boyfriend, Sebastian. While there she meets Levi. He helps her when she is hurt and wants only to protect her. She discovers that she doesn't really love Sebastian and can't stop thinking about the little time she spent with Levi. Levi is a smokejumper which scares her because of the danger of his job but Levi has a few more secrets for Mariah to learn before this story is through.
I enjoyed reading this quick read and following Mariah, Levi and Sebastian discover things about themselves they didn't know before.
The story is sweet and clean and, best of all, has a happy ending.
Mariah has an overbearing boyfriend. She just got laid off of work. She goes to Idaho where her parents are. Biking with her boyfriend she slows him down. She tells him to go ahead. After a classic fall, she looks up to see her saving grace: Levi Grant, an EMT extraordinare. Come along for this fun and flirty ride:) Happy Reading, and may the best man win:)
Comparison can be dangerous or enlightening. Happily for Mariah it is the latter. She learns by meeting Levi that she does not want to stay with Sebastian. However, since she wants to remain friends, she allows Sebastian to continue to manipulate her into a dangerous situation. Thankfully, Levi is there to rescue her, again. Love this family!
Mariah and Levi seemingly have little in common. It takes some serious adventures, injuries, horse and rider therapy, and family intervention to accept each other and their feelings. This is a fun and interesting romantic story with characters who are lovable.
Mirah certainly has her set of problems. However, she has a very attractive guy that seems to be around whenever she is in trouble. Can something develop between them?
Sarah Gay did a great capturing 4 lovely men. Money isn't everything. But with good honorable hearts she was able to to make them a complete package any girl could hope for.
