this book was so infuriating to read but at the same time i couldn't put it down. i wasn't a fan of the writing style, the characters were unbelievably annoying, and the plot was so unrealistic it was painful, but dear god i just had to know what happened next. this book is the epitome of a "guilty pleasure" for me.
very similar to After by Anna Todd, the main character Amanda goes off to college and immediately runs into a group of frat boys, and the one she's most interested in can't seem to decide if he likes her back or not. it was extremely frustrating seeing their lack of communication and the games they played with each other, but GOD it made me want a boyfriend so bad.
overall, pretty much every aspect except the small romantic details were mediocre. if you're really into fanfic style romance, i'd highly recommend this book to you.

I enjoyed the story overall - it was a nice read - although, it did take me a while to get into this book. I think this was because it really reminded me of the Wattpad stories I used to read when I was about 15 which I have now moved on from. Copeland’s characters, and the story, were realistic and, apart from the ending (which seemed a little rushed), the story had a good pace.

A clean, coming of age romance novel. It had the typical ingredients of a young adult romance novel- the nerdy girl, the jock older guy with a shady past with girls and his Playboy best friend.

The plot is the usual boy meets girl, girl falls in love with boy, the love is thwarted, girl rebounds and girl and boy end up together.

Copeland's portrayal of a kindling romance is very natural, it highlights the real issues that people face- due to lack of communication and transparency. I feel although the over-arching plot is bog-standard, she really does put a fresh spin on it. I liked reading about their experiences and how "coincidences" presented themselves that her avoidance strategy really fell to pieces. It was quite hilarious. There were times I was compelled to slap Amanda across the face and knock (bad pun, good ref 😉) some sense into her.

The big gaping difference I feel is, something major happens to the heroine, that although can be predicted actually enters realms of HOLY MOTHER OF GOD how did this come about. It was an interesting way to develop the plot and kept me engaged.

I personally am #TeamZack and really did not like how it ended up. I think most of her friends would agree with me too 😂.

Regardless, the ending was always meant to be and it gives readers hope, glee and an opportunity to fall in love with love- the one reason every romance reader reads romance. And eventhough my ship didn't sail, that wasn't a pitfall of the book.

The only thing that really gets me down is how little her friendships are developed. I would have liked to see more of her interacting with her friends especially Mark. By the late early/middle of the book he wasn't even being a friend anymore. He was just an add-on and honestly sometimes really, unecessarily mean and from what I gathered that's not who he was as a friend, or as a person.

Otherwise, this book was a thrill to read and I would definitely recommend for a nice light romance read.

A big thank you to Tricia Copeland for sending me an advanced copy of this book! I loved reading it, I appreciate all the hard work you have put into the work and it definitely paid off!

Once again, thanks to Voracious Readers Only for bringing me closer to authors and providing me with a huge variety of books to opt for!

The story of a girl who is just starting her freshman year at college and meets the fraternity president of her father’s old alumni house and is smitten by him. She knows it’s foolish because he’s going to graduate but she can’t help how she feels. However, he doesn’t pay her much attention until she gets hurt playing coed games with them and then he takes an avid interest along with his best friend. When she finds out he is back with his girlfriend she starts going out with his best friend. Then she has a decision to make between the two of them. Will she choose one of them or neither? After all this is just her first year of college and they’re graduating anyway.

This was a good read which deals with the complexities of relationships. There are so many variables it seems to consider one wonders how people manage to get through the mine field intact!
Certainly many hearts are broken along the way that’s for sure! Again honesty up front from both Amanda and Doug would have avoided so much anguish and heartache down the road if both could have just been open and honest with each other right from the start!

This is a sweet story and it took Amanda a lot of pain and suffering to finally see that she needed to be honest about her feelings with both Doug and Zack as well as with herself about them!

I recommend you get and read this book and see if it doesn’t bring back those memories you had of your conflicts between people you wanted to date. Are you glad with how things turned out or do you wish the other choice would have been made?

All we can do is listen to our heart and follow its promptings and believe it won’t lead us wrong!

Is This Me is the first book in the Being Me series by Tricia Copeland. It is a New Adult/college/romance- about choices, fitting in, self-discovery, finding out ‘where’ you belong, being true to yourself, dealing with adulthood, being away from the family home/parents, the newfound stress of college life, expectation, and dealing with everything life seems to throw at you.
Amanda is beginning her freshman year at college. She is smart, knows what she wants and has a plan. But then Doug turns it all on its head. He’s older, a senior, who has a lot to consider and a lot at stake- but who captivates her attention like nothing she was ever expecting. This leads to choices- choices have consequences- and so Amanda finds herself in a situation she could never have predicted. Things soon feel like they are spiraling out of control. Will they work it out? It’s worth the read to find out…
I liked the characters, they were interesting and well developed- although it did take me a little while to warm up to Amanda, but she did grow on me and I ended up liking her a lot more than I thought I would. Doug was great, but he did frustrate me quite a lot with his push-pull and indecisiveness. But overall their portrayals were realistic and believable. The story is set to continue in, “If I Could Fly” book #2.

Thank you, Ms, Copeland!

Is This Me? Book One in the Being Me Series, By Tricia Copeland
4 out of 5 Stars

This is a beautiful coming of age story. This author is not new to me, and yet again I am reminded of how beautifully she can craft a story. The story had both depth and flexibility. Amanda is a strong thinker, level/ clear headed on what she wants but life has taken its upper hand with her. I would like to call this story a transitional story for those who are going through the same season of life, but it is also a super fun time to revisit for those of us who have been there. I adored this book. It is a easy read to fall into and you will enjoy every minute of it.

This is a story of discovering self and navigating from youth to adult. Amanda's journey has a number of setbacks but she struggles through to the end to realize who she is and what she wants. The timelines were vague at times and her recovery from heartache and physical injuries seemed too quick for reality but the result was realized. I don't feel the story was realistic because I cannot fathom a young lady not sharing her heartache and frustrations with someone.
Having said all that, it was an intriguing read and I did continue to read to see how it all turned out.
I was provided this book through Voracious Readers in exchange for my honest review.

This was a good book. I would reread this book 📖 😍
A new girl in college joins her friends since prek into meeting fraternity boys, the same fraternity as her dad. She quickly becomes the fave girl of two boys. Who will she pick in the end?

It also makes it to where she should not be playing certain sports like volleyball. It's dangerous for her.

I liked how protective her friends were for her in all the times she needed it. Mark was a little overprotective.

Is This Me? (Being Me #1) by Tricia Copeland is the first book in this series. It had all the growing pains of your freshmen year in college, but with a few exceptions.
Northwestern is in Amanda's blood. Her dad belonged to a fraternity there, her sister was in a sorority and is in a relationship with a man from the same fraternity has her dad. Her best friend is dating a fraternity brother. So that opens doors that wouldn't be so easily opened. She has a great roommate Elise and things seem to be going her way.
Doug is a senior and president of the fraternity and seems to have a thing for Amanda. He just got over a bad breakup and keeps sending Amanda mixed signals. Zack is the vice president of the fraternity and is a player, but seems to be a different person when it comes to Amanda. Who will win her heart in the end?
I loved this book from the first page and the author kept me engaged throughout the book. There were times when I wanted to smack Amanda and tell her to pull up her big girl panties. In the end she got herself figured out. The characters of this book were so fun and realistic. I wish I had met some of them when I went to college. At times you could literally feel what the characters were going through. This book had me on a roller coaster ride and sometimes had me yelling at the pages with some of Amanda's choices. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

The drama between the two boys is hilarious and gives you a bit of insight in how first relationships work. Would recommend this book for someone who is in upper-high school or in college. Someone who is reflecting upon their younger years would enjoy this book.
One unanswered question, that may be answered in later books, is does Mark like Amanda? He seems a bit protective for a friend.

This is the story of Amanda Avery, she is about to start college as a freshman and is looking forward to in one way and in another is dreading the need to be social, so as she is woken up by her sister leaping on her and the smell of pancakes and bacon from her mum cooking breakfast downstairs as her dad went in commander mode and got them all ready to go. As she gets to her room, her best friend asks her to go and see her in her room, she had moved in a little earlier and had already gotten to know some people, she also meets one of her suitemates and they get on well when she goes to sort out her own room. After a few hours of sorting and a family dinner, she is left on her own and agrees to go to orientation with her suitemate, they meet her best friend there and after the obligatory parts, they leave to go to a frat party. She is introduced to some of the other guys, including the President and the Vice President and surprisingly feels comfortable around them, while also admiring how good looking they are, as the event goes on, she tries to find her best friend, but is distracted by one of the guys she met earlier and they end up staying up late discussing shared hobbies, he then proceeds to escort her home and she realises that she had a good time, despite breaking a few of her parents rules.

As her orientation continues and she hangs out with the Fraternity brothers more, she finds that her feelings towards the good looking President start to develop and she is becoming friends with some of the other guys as well, so when she is badgered and eventually convinced to sign up for some of the co-rec sports teams, as well as working out with the frat brothers in the college gym, despite taking a tumble during a flag football game and ending up needing stitches and fainting from the sight of the blood. She is starting to get into a routine with classes, study, working out and being social, but that changes when she gets injured during the first co-rec volleyball game of the season when she crashes into the president and is thrown to the ground where can’t move, there is immeasurable pain in her arm and eventually she blacks out, when she wakes up she is in hospital with the guy she crashed into at her side, after the doctor comes in and explains that she has had to have surgery to pin her arm back into place and to relieve the bleeding on her brain from her head injury. When she is released from the hospital, her friends organise a rotation to look after her and her feelings and emotions are in turmoil as she realises that her recovery will take a lot longer than she originally thought.

How will Amanda be able to deal with the aftermath of this injury while also keeping up with classes and maintaining her GPA, as well as the hot and cold interactions of the guys around her? This is a story of recovery, both emotional and physical, as well as looking into the pressures of coming of age and growing up in America and the experiences that go with it, it is a read that keeps you hooked throughout.

Is This Me? (Being Me Book 1) by Tricia Copeland is a new age-college-romance that kept me engaged until the last page. This is not my first book by this author but it is my favorite of hers. I enjoy her writing style and her creative plot line. Her attention to details made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. I easily found myself connecting with them on top of it they took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. This is a story about Amanda. She thought that she had it all with her going to a top college with her best friend. Her lies are piling up after her crush goes completely wrong. Will this be how she starts her adult life? Will she figure out what kind of person she wants to be? I enjoyed Amanda's character. She is level headed person who has been known to deviate to the wild side. Amanda's crush is a man that I am not sure how to feel about at first. As the story went further, I think I started changing a little bit. I enjoyed watching Amanda learning to come into her own as she becomes an adult. She really grows throughout this story. She knows her feelings and he struggles with them. One of the emotional things in this book is how she keeps to herself and starts to withdraw into herself. I felt for her when she was feeling this as so many people really do go through this. I highly recommend this book. Find out what happens when this young adults learn to grow up and search for acceptance.

Is This Me? (Being Me Book 1)
By: Tricia Copeland
5 out of 5 stars

The story Is This Me? (Being Me Book 1) by Tricia Copeland is a coming of age/new adult romance book. This is the story of Amanda. She has just started her freshman year at college when she finds herself injured both physically and emotionally. A crush that she has doesn’t go as planned and she also finds herself needing help with her day to day life. Amanda is someone that doesn’t like to depend on others and would rather try to take care of herself. She is playing down her physical injuries and not being truthful with her friends. Will she continue to keep her friends and family in the dark in regards to the hard time she is having? Will she continue to avoid her true feelings? I enjoyed reading Amanda’s story. It gives a very real depiction of how chaotic the beginning of college is and how emotional it can become. I also enjoyed reading about how many of the secondary characters want to be supportive and helpful to Amanda. The interactions between them often turn humorous. I really felt for Amanda when situations happen that upset her. She is a character that I wanted everything to work out for. This is the first book I have read by the author and the first book in a series. I look forward to reading more of her stories. She has written a book that is easy to read, full of emotions and one I didn’t want to put down until I had read the final page.

Is This Me?
By Tricia Copeland
4 stars

This was such a lovely story to read with a really great set of characters. It was a great NA/Coming of age story and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. This isn’t the first book that I have read by this author so I knew that I would be in for a nice, easy to read book with wonderful characters 0 and that is exactly what I got.
I really liked Amanda and I really did feel sorry for her. I think transitioning from high school to college is such a big thing even with friends already there that you know. I liked reading about how she dealt with everything. Having gone through counselling myself I could resonate with some of the feelings she had about actually going to see her therapist. She was really lucky to have such amazing friends who seemed to love her. I did struggle with her relationship with Doug and found myself frustrated with him. It was obvious that there was an attraction there and he really cared for her. I can see what happened between the two of them caused her to question things. I thought the author explored their relationship well. But I still liked Doug; he was so sweet to Amanda especially during the first few chapters. I so wanted these two to end up together!
Overall a really sweet, well written NA story that I highly recommend.

I received this book from the author through VORACIOUSREADERSONLY.COM for my honest review. Well to be honest, I'm having a tough time with what I want to say about this book. I will say that it kept me entertained and in suspense about what was going to happen with Amanda's love life. I found myself really liking both Doug and Zack. After a while, I was getting pretty frustrated and annoyed with both Doug and Amanda. Doug was just being dishonest and cowardly. He should have been open and honest with her from the beginning & not leading her on. Amanda was going through a lot of turmoil in her life (love life, health and dealing with all this drama in her life while still trying to do great in school and put on a facade for her friends). I was frustrated because she could have let off a lot of steam and let go of all that pain by being open with her friends. I think that she made it worse on herself.
In the end, I feel like Amanda made the right choice because she went with her heart. I really grew to like Zack quite a bit. He was fun, very lovable and very thoughtful! I do hope that his and Doug's friendship isn't destroyed over this. I really do hope that I can continue reading the rest of this book
series.
As always, Happy Listening and Reading, my fellow GR'ers.💜

Amanda has just started collage and is living on her own for the first time.
She is just starting to find her place when she is injured and the only way to stay at school is to rely on friends, new and old.

Amanda has a crush on Doug and even though he is there to support her day after day, he does not seem to feel the same way. She has decided that if friendship is the only way to keep him in her life, she will be his friend and nothing more. But it is difficult and he says and does things that blur the friendship line. With more than one guy interested in pursuing a relationship with Amanda, maybe it is time for her to leave Doug behind and move on with her life.

At times I liked this story, it had sweet moments and funny moments but at other times it frustrated the life out of me and I just wanted to shake some sense into the characters and get them to talk to each other.

I liked Amanda’s determination, Zack’s easy going friendship and support towards Amanda and Doug’s loyalty, although he was one of the ones I wanted to give a shake, in his case to see if I could figure out what was going on in his head.

While a little frustrating this book was hard to put down, I became quite attached to the characters and wanted to see how things would end up for them.

I received this book through Voracious Readers and my opinions are my own.

Is This Me? by Tricia Copeland is the first book in her new Being Me series and what a great opener. Following the story of Amanda and her journey through starting college and her becoming an adult. Navigating through this new world that she is thrust into, Amanda becomes painfully aware of how she imprints herself on those around her and how they leave marks on her life as well. Watching Amanda grow into the woman she was meant to be, starting new relationships and developing new and deeper friendships we get a special view into her mind, and get to see with vivid details and imagery of the emotional roller coaster that is now Amanda’s life. Copeland is an old favorite of mine from her catalog of books, but this one so far has been the best of her books I’ve read yet. If you are looking for a great book, full of amazingly written characters, and a storyline that will keep you pulled in from page one until the end. This is definitely one that needs to be picked up by everyone and anyone!

Total Page-Turner!! Is This Me? is the first book in the Being Me series by Tricia Copeland. Set as a College/New Adult setting, Amanda is starting her freshman year in college. She thought she had it all planned until life sent her a curve ball. Her friend decides that she is going to attend her first college fraternity party. There she meets Doug, who of course, is all wrong for her. Thankfully that doesn’t amount to much until one day she becomes injured and needs the help of her friends and this guys is here to help. What will happen? You’ll have to read to find out. The characters in this book are really great! I loved reading about Amanda and the choices leading her into adulthood. This book is great for anyone but for those that are starting college, this is an excellent book. You will enter a rollercoaster of emotions and hard decisions. You will definitely not want to put this book down and want to read more afterward. I, myself cannot wait to read the book in the series to see how Amanda’s life has progressed!

I’m trying to think how I feel about this book, especially it’s ending. I suppose knowing it’s a series helps a lot, why do an epilogue when there’s sequels? But if I thought it was a standalone novel, it leaves a lot to be desired. It was a rushed decision.
She picks her guy, that’s the ending. Big whoop. There’s a lot more to life than dating.
Do I like her decision? Yes, I think I do, it was certainly what I hoped for earlier on in the story, but it got muddied a little bit as other love interests were brought in.
I am intrigued by the references to Amanda’s eating and exercise habits. I do love a good anorexia story and I’ll be very interested to see how the author progresses this.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and am very likely to buy the sequels. The characters were realistic and likeable. There were no crazy bitch jealous exes, no goofy but loveable player man-whores, as you expect from college age stories.

Thank you to the author for a free copy in exchange for an honest review!

Is This Me? By Tricia Copeland is Book 1 of the Being Me series and I cannot wait to read what comes next! This was a 5 out of 5 stars read for me! Copeland is a new to me author, so i had absolutely no expectations. I found no errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and the book had a fantastic flow! I did not put it down from beginning to end! There were several unexpected twists, laughs, and tears! Is This Me? Is the story about a young woman in her first year of college. She knows what she wants in life, and she's worked hard to get to where she is. She's away from home for the first time and is discovering herself. She's meeting new people while mingling with a few of her lifelong friends. Among those new people are Doug and Zach. These boys push her decision-making skills to the limit, including decisions affecting school and outside of school, and I was on the edge of my seat with anticipation! I definitely recommend this book!

Is This Me? By Tricia Copeland
Five Stars

Is This Me? Is the first book in the Being Me series by Tricia Copeland. I have read a couple other book by Ms. Copeland, but this is definitely my new favorite. I love the easy flowing pace of the book, and the characters are all so relatable and true to life. I remember my freshman year at college, quite a while ago, and I can remember some of the same things happening. This book was like a walk down memory lane, with twists and turns added in. Amanda is a great character, trying to find her way through her college life and like most struggles with peer pressure and man problems. Doug is kind of a wishy washy kind of guy interested one moment and hard to get the next, but that also fits with the storyline. The secondary characters really help the story flow. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Copeland has in store for the second book in this series.

Is This Me? (Being Me #1) by Tricia Copeland was a great 5 star read.

Amanda is starting her first year of college. What’s great is her two friends are there as well and when she gets there they take her out to a party. This is where she meets Doug and Zack, two very hot seniors. She has a connection with Doug, they have a lot of things in common.

Doug just had a bad breakup and keeps giving Amanda mixed signals. Zack also shows some interest in Amanda. Who will capture her heart?

Overall this was a good read. I was pulled in right from the beginning. I really liked all of the characters, they added a great element to the story. Of course we get all the drama that comes with college. Amanda had me slightly frustrated at times with her choices but I got over it. Reading this book makes you feel like your back in school and part of the group. If you're looking for a great read, 1-click and get started today.

I found myself pulled into the pages of this story and couldn't put it down until I was done.

Amanda is starting her first year of college with her best friends. Since one of them is in a fraternity, and one of them is dating a fraternity member, she finds herself at the frat house her very first night on campus. There, she meets Doug and Zack. She finds herself spending a lot of time with Doug...but he never makes the move to be more than friends. A serious injury has her spending even more time with Doug...and Zack. An almost-kiss on Halloween sends her away from one while bringing her closer to the other. Can Amanda find happiness? Or is she hiding the truth from herself?

I found myself drawn to Amanda. Her character enjoys her independence and finds it hard to adapt when an injury has her relying on others. Her feelings are a mess because she can't tell if she is being strung along or if she is imagining something that isn't there. All the supporting characters were enjoyable and I wanted to know more about all of them! I am hoping there will be other books in the series!

Is This Me? By Tricia Copeland is book one of the Being Me series. I absolutely devoured this book! This book is a coming of age/new adult clean romance.

Amanda is a college freshman and she’s got it all planned out. She doesn’t expect that her plan will be derailed on the first day. Amanda meets up with her friends and is introduced to the brothers at her friend, Mark’, fraternity. Doug and Zach are two people she ends up being pretty close to especially after an accident leaves her needing a lot of assistance from her friends, especially Doug. Even though he’s turned her down, she’s determined to be friends no matter how difficult it is. Zach makes it a little easier though, that and avoiding Doug. Can Amanda withstand all the turmoil she’s facing and make it out unscathed?

I don’t like Doug. I did at first and his develops well but I don’t like him for Amanda. From the beginning, Zach felt more like where Amanda should end up. This book is deep and you can relate to the characters and the feelings. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Is This Me? (Being Me Book 1) by Tricia Copeland. I loved this book so much. It brought me back to my college days. Its the story of Amanda who is beginning her first year of college. She is most interested in learning and of course in boys. Her roommate is dating a fraternity guy so that opens lots of doors for Amanda in the dating world. When she meets Doug she thinks she is in love and he seems interested in her at first but starts to send her mixed signals. Doug just got over a bad breakup so she just doesn't understand his intentions. Doug's friend Zack is a player but when it comes to Amanda he seems different. When Amanda is hurt she must accept Doug's help or risk losing everything including her scholarships. When she begins to lie to her family things begin to unravel. Who will win Amanda's heart in the long run and will she be able to save face and stay in school? Read Is this me to find out!

Is This Me? is the first book in the Being Me Series by Tricia Copeland. What a great start to this new series. Ms. Copeland had me hooked from the first page all the way to the last page. Amanda is the main character and she is starting her freshman year of college. She has a lot to deal with from the stress of being a freshman to being on her own for the first time. Then there is Doug, who she has a crush on. Doug has issues with how he feels, unlike Amanda. Will Doug and Amanda work out their differences?

Is This Me? is a contemporary story about romance, friendship and growing up. Tricia Copeland has a writing style that flows with ease and keeps you engaged. You could feel the characters from the pain to the happiness that they experienced. What a great story, cannot wait to read the second book in the series.

A definite 5 star read for Is This Me? Book One of the Being Me Series by Tricia Copeland. I really enjoyed this book.
Amanda was so excited to go to college. She knows what she wants and what to expect. Or so she thought. When she meets Doug, she might not be so sure anymore. When things stay strictly in the friend-zone, she just goes with it. When something happens to her, she knows she needs his help or risk losing everything. With his help, she is able to make everything ok again. But in the process of getting back to normal, she fell even deeper for him. Will she be able to move forward or will things with Doug, and his change of heart, pull her right back again??
While reading this book, I loved these characters even tho, at times, I did want to throttle Amanda and especially Doug. I absolutely fell in love with Zach!!! I can not wait to read the next book in this series.

Is This Me ? ( The Being Me Series , Book 1 )
By Tricia Copeland
⅘ Stars

This isn’t my first time reading this author. Her books are really enjoyable and always entertaining ! Now this one, is highly relatable.
Amanda embarks on her first year in college. Some things don’t go as planned and she finds herself hurt and depressed. Not exactly how she wants wants to start off her college life. Will she be able to turn her life around and be the person she desperately wants to be?
Tricia has the ability to write about fictional characters, who seem real. Like they can be your friends or family. I highly recommend this book for young adults, maybe starting college or still in high school. It’s a great read, with fun and intriguing characters! Great job, Tricia! I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for us in the second book!
