The Protection Bureau’s day of reckoning has come!
Armed with the proof that Agent Styver betrayed him and locked him in the Vault, Nolan is determined to sever ties with the Protection Bureau once and for all.
If only it was that simple or easy…
Even with a small army of fellow Silverguards and a newly upgraded Taia, he’s taking on the most powerful secret government organization in the Nyzarian Empire, one that possesses unlimited resources and technology beyond anything he’s encountered or defeated.
The battle is already fierce, but things will get really ugly when the Protection Bureau decides to threaten everything and everyone Nolan loves.
Don't miss Book 10 in the explosive Cerberus Series!
I am, first and foremost, a storyteller and an artist--words are my palette. Fantasy is my genre of choice, and I love to explore the darker side of human nature through the filter of fantasy heroes, villains, and everything in between. I'm also a freelance writer, a book lover, and a guy who just loves to meet new people and spend hours talking about my fascination for the worlds I encounter in the pages of fantasy novels.
Fantasy provides us with an escape, a way to forget about our mundane problems and step into worlds where anything is possible. It transcends age, gender, religion, race, or lifestyle--it is our way of believing what cannot be, delving into the unknowable, and discovering hidden truths about ourselves and our world in a brand new way. Fiction at its very best!
Another great book in the Cerberus series by this very talented author.
This book is one that's not to be missed. I read it in two sittings, I wish I could have done it in one; however, the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.
Without the help of his good friends Nolan would have no chance.
After successfully hiding in his last safehouse, Nolan Garratt and ex Silverguards Master Sergeant Kane; Darren and Zahra; plus Bex; had all come to help him in his fight against the Protection Bureau and Nolan's previous handler Agent Styver.
The bureau had captured Nolan previous to this and had tortured him for a long period of time, driving a spike into his brain to stop his inplanted AI Taia from helping him. Nolan managed to escape and also managed to get his brother Jared out, who had been in the prison for 18 months because of a false crime report. Nolan had gone to the prison to visit his brother and he had been captured and thrown into a small glass box to be tortured and have drugs tested on him.
Now Nolan and his ex Silverguard friends have made the decision to kill Agent Styver and destroy the Protection Bureau once and for all, so that they could all come out of hiding and have a chance at having normal lives.
This is the beginning of an electrically charged story. Full of courage, pain, sacrifice and death all the way through. But also, love of friends, of family, of comaraderie bourne out of war. These things are included in this epic story. However, this book is fundamentaly an action story, filled with kickassed moves and incredible technology in the form of Taia. I would looove to have one of those. A personal AI. Imagine how cool that would be!
I love the entire Cerberus series, it's so full of scheming, cunning plans and incredible relationships and survival at whatever cost, along with a big dose of secrecy. So much is hidden and so much is revealed.
Oh my goodness, this book is just great! I can't sing its praises enough!
If you get the chance, look up the entire series; it makes great reading and is highly entertaining and terribly addictive!
The Cerberus series is finally reaching its climax with Nolan Garrett setting to take down his former employers and free himself (as well as his loved ones) from their wrath. It makes some genuine irreversible changes to the series and is equivalent to CHANGES in the Dresden Files for effects. It also takes the unconventional but appreciated role of making it so that Garrett is going to be in a poly relationship with his love interests. That's much more interesting than a love triangle and something I'm glad is happening. The fact it's set in the future also makes it more believable. I'm glad one character also finally gets his comeuppance. I'm definitely going to finish this series off when the final books release.
This was another great book with lots of action, problems that need solving, character interactions. I’m not a great reviewer but I think this series is worth reading. Very enjoyable
Nolan Garrett had escaped the vault, and he knew that it was the Protection Bureau that had put him there and that it was them that had also framed Jared, his brother, stealing eighteen months of his life to leave him the husk of the man he used to be. Now Nolan is out to get revenge, and he intends taking down the Bureau and Agent Styver, however the Bureau is the most technologically advanced organisation and had many resources at their finger tips all over the Nyzarian Empire. The fight is on and Warbeast team have come to back up Nolan as did Jadis, and to Nolan's surprise and frustration Bex and Roz, her young daughter turn up at his safe house in the Celestial Cascades. Nolan never intended to see Bex risk her life let alone her daughter's on his account once she had gotten out but Bex was adamant. The Bureau however is a tough nut to crack and this book is nerve wrecking to the extreme as our team of heroes battle within an inch of their lives but it also has its satisfying moments which were long over due. Taia's amazing input and strategy as usual save the day, proving to Nolan that his Taia was back and responding only to him now for sure. Can Nolan break them all free from the Bureau's clutches and can he save Jared's life which is hanging on its last limbs? A series I can never have enough of therefore I am already looking forward to the next book!
If you like science fiction with the military bent you’ll enjoy this book and the series. There is some aspects about the series that make me want to slap Andy because I would like to know why did you write it this way. For example getting rid of Taia ‘s body. This was a terrific trio and giving Nolan‘s artificial intelligence friend a body added more dimension to the book. Jadis is a civilian and not really a fighter but she brings her own flavor to the trio to make it a great foursome. Love the series and these characters will go on to read the next two books to finish the series. The best thing is if you pick up the book you don’t have to wait for cliffhangers the series is complete.
Another fantastically exciting roller-coaster of a read. The stakes just keep getting higher in this series. I could wish the book had been a little more stand-alone - the cliff-hanger endings are getting a bit old, and I'm starting to get uncomfortable with the sexual content around the artificial intelligence program, but these things aside, a wonderful read.
The entire team is back together and the stakes are at its highest. A child’s life and future, freedom, and finding the ultimate evil. Very deep, very dark, pages chocked with angst. What more do I need from a book? I am even given the most minute sliver of a silver lining imaginable, and yet I’m hooked! This series is truly a keeper! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
This time Nolan is on the offensive as he goes to war against the bureau which has betrayed him so badly. The situation makes for some great teamwork, action and subterfuge situations to showcase Peloquins writing and impressive storytelling.
Arc Another great continuation in the Cerberus series. Nolan is looking for some vengeance with a little help from his friends. Action packed as always, fast-paced, intriguing to the end.
Unbelievable book in this series. Nolan escapes and is looking for revenge. Not as simple as it seems. Enough action to keep you intrigued and never realized when I got to the end. Don’t miss out.
There is often one or two books in a series that can really stand out and Mr Peloquin's Rampant Destruction is my second favorite so far. The people Nolan love are held up in a safe house somewhere off world as he and his Warbeast teammates go after Agent Styver and the Protection Bureau. The amped up odds are against them again but Jared is not the only one whos life is at stake. Mr. Peloquin has three or four storylines woven together creating an edge of your seat climax in an unforgettable rescue mission besides two search and destroy missions. My heart was in my throat the whole time. Two more books to go until the series end and I can't imagine what Mr. Peloquin will send our way next.
So, book ten in the series and what a little cracker this is. Warbeast team plus. Up against it as usual. I was engrossed from start to finish as always. Typically this authors going to finish the series just when I’m totally hooked. Glad to see there could be another though. Highly recommended.
