I wish they had reading practice with every lesson, instead of just the last few! It would help to know what consonants to use in words where they're swallowed, rather than enunciated.

This is by FAR the best language learning audio program I've ever tried. Now that I've finished, I would actually feel completely confident holding a basic conversation in German, and the skills are just as ingrained in my mind as my basic French conversation skills, which it took me six years of classes in high school and college to learn. Sure, this isn't going to teach you a TON of vocabulary, but what it does teach you is EXTREMELY useful. Learning a language this way makes so much more sense to me than looking at a book and reading about grammar, and I can easily go back later and figure out how things are spelled and will already know how to pronounce them. I don't know, this may not work as well for everyone, but I felt like I learned a lot, really well and really quickly, and I had fun doing it. So. There you go!

Great basic intro to German conversation - not heavy on grammar or verb conjugation - half hour lessons made it easy to listen to during my commute. There are pauses so the listener can repeat everything as practice. A dip of the toe into the German language! I had been toying with the idea of learning German for years, and failed when I tried a book.

Outstanding program. Took German in high school and college, but that was two decades ago. This audio program brought it back from the brink for me. I'm interested in the full 30 disc version.
