This series has been one long adventure full of epic battles fought against impossible odds, and cultivation magic which Jace has fought so courageously in order to save the world. In this the final quest Jace faces his battles alone this time as his friends have been scattered all over the place and he has lost his memories of the past year of his life. The only one by his side is his esteemed mentor Hahen who keeps Jace on track and tries to keep him out of danger but Jace is reckless and quite fearless. He will do anything to save reality from unravelling as he once again not only faces his one time enemy Tycho Reyes, the tyranical zealot, but also battles with dragons. He has only one chance to save the Grand Design and restore order to the world, he has to push himself further to the final level of advancement and he has to become the eternal core even if this means the death of him! He has to search for Ulthima Thule without even knowing whether this was a place or a punishment and the journey he needed to take would pit him against Shambala, the sages and most of Empyreal society even if he undertakes this dangerous mission to save this same society. This book is really a Grand Finale to what has been an awesome series with great characters, epic battle scenes, machina and magic.

Was kind of disappointing

The book was a little sad. Still engaging but not as thrilling as the previous books. Hoping to see better from Cage Lee in the furure.

Spoilers. It’s a poor ending to a mildly captivating series.

5 stars, because I think the author has a lot of talent, and the Amazon rating system is broken for authors who aren’t mega stars like Sando, Martin etc

Aaanyway, the ending was not as stellar as I’d like.

Characters that have acted in a certain way, suddenly change. This was a recurring theme throughout the books, and whilst it did serve to push the story along, it always seemed like the protagonist just had to explain things the right way and then suddenly, people were agreeing with him and Doing what he wanted.

Whereas, I feel that if you build a character profile for an antagonist to be a total dick, then that character should stay true to their personality. And not change to ensure a point in the story can be moved through - unless there are valid reasons for the change rather than just “the protagonist was super convincing” or ‘they could suddenly see it was the right thing to do’. People who are insane won’t be swayed by something being the right thing to do. In my opinion.

But if you’ve read the previous 5 books then you’ll enjoy this one. So get stuck in.

An incomprehensible mess disguised as a good read.

The last chapter almost earned it a third star but the truth is as interesting as fun as the entire series can seem it is messy with extremely poor content editing and it confusing plot line that often does not make sense. It is a first person point of view story that combines the genres of martial arts fantasy magical School and even sci-fi all together. The first book particularly borrows heavily from the genres and you can even recognize a few elements from other stories almost as if they were transplanted into the series. It is clean and despite the age of the protagonist ranging from 15 to 20 by the end of the series it has the feel of the early Young adult book series.

The series is a whole does not have a solid foundation. Without a solid continuity and clean plot line is confusing. The authors interesting style and ability to at times write emotional scenes does save some of this book. And I do think it is worth a good read on Kindle unlimited. I also think it's a good book series to read for prospective authors and hobby writers to see sort of what not to do or some of the reader speed bumps to avoid. For me it is a one-time read only.

The sixth book very much typifies everything that the series is. There are many very noticeable continuity errors and content mistakes that are extremely distracting and honestly made me feel relieved when I read that this was going to be the last book of the series. An example of a content mistake in this book is when a creature was said to have 12 cores powering it and within a handful sentences it was then said to have six cores powering it, and within a few paragraphs it was then stated to have nine course powering it. Nothing occurred to change the number other than the author not knowing what he wrote beforehand. The main character in the first book was from St Louis yet in the middle of the series he changed his mind and decided he was from Dallas such mistakes can be humorous if they are limited to one or two even if they're still distracting. Quite honestly they are dozens of mistakes in each book following the first one. And even some mistakes there.

Keeping a solid story Bible would have saved the author a lot of issues. He has the talent I feel to be a top tier writer with the right content editing. However I feel as if he wrote most of the series by memory without referring back to what he wrote before. He might have jot it down some notes but it feels as if each book he wrote whatever sound cool at the time rather than making sure he wasn't chopping off his own toes.

This 6th book honestly was close to getting a one star mainly because the story itself is incomprehensible. For series that is so full of discontinuity having a book based upon someone screwing with the timeline or The Grand design creating discontinuity itself really is like slapping the reader in the face. Truthfully I don't think the series was planned out all that well and it shows in this book as almost a race to the finish and the author just saying screw it it's done now. in this book the main protagonist Jace was told he had to accomplish something at a certain point. this was emphasized a couple times but within the story itself that point changed somehow without acknowledgment. The entire climax was a confusing mess and the characters growth within this book in terms of power Arc made he roll my eyes.

Again I don't regret reading this series and I think the author would have been better served to take its time and do some content editing or pay for it because he is talented enough I feel to come up with some pretty good stuff on his own while getting good editing.

Damn amazing way to wrap up the series

I can't express how much fun it was reading this story and how great it was put together. The growth through the series of everyone is just great

This book caps off a beautiful ending to a damn fine series. I can't recommend this book enough to everyone and if you haven't read the others before this then your missing out and need to get them.

Shock!!!

I am in shock! I don’t know how to process this. At first this book was a little confusing but I think it was meant to be. The confusion quickly faded and became I guess you could say the theme for this last book and even throughout the series. It was a truly worthy ending to this great series.

This is the last book of a fun series the ending wasn't bad, but I hated to see this series end as I'd become invested in the characters. I burned through the last two books in this series pretty quickly, with lots of action, lots of battles, and some interesting advancement for our hero. I'm kind of sad now that it is done but it was a great ride while it lasted!

A good finale for a good series. I loved the genre mashup of progression fantasy, xianxia and even science fiction. Certain times the plot got a little convoluted or there were big shifts in character motivations/consistency but the action was always entertaining. Would read more of Gage Lee's works.

Fast paced and not sure about the ending

Seemed a little rushed, where in the previous books his advancement took the entire book, here he advances three times. It was a good story, sad to see it end.

I was kind of surprised that this series seemingly wrapped up with this book. Things felt a little rushed at times and I was playing catch-up because this book contains alternate realities and time travel. There was a lot of advancement which was regally cool. There were some epic battles, too. The narration throughout the series was solid.
