A friends-to-lovers romance, where one of them is a virgin and the other can’t stop thinking about it.

Adam
True or false? Men and women can’t be friends. I used to say true, until I met Kayla.

Yes, she’s a goddess, but it’s completely platonic. So when she asks me to pose as her fiancé at a party, I’m all in. Especially since her sleazeball ex will be there. Can you believe this weasel dumped her at the altar? I’ve got your back, Kayla. What are friends for?

But now I’m worried I played the part too well because we’re heading home, and she makes a confession: she’s tired of saving herself for marriage and wants me to be her first. Her first!

I can’t go there. The woman has committed relationship written all over her, something I’m never doing again for good reason.

Except when I tell her no, she starts considering other candidates. I can’t let her be with some random guy! I can’t cross the line either. She doesn’t know what she’s asking! She doesn’t know what she’s doing! Someone has to stop her.

Kayla
Only Adam will do.

This romantic comedy stands alone with a swoonworthy happy-ever-after! No cliffhangers.

I'm so loving this new series by Kylie! I couldn't put this one down! 5 amazing stars for this one!

We met Kayla in the first book, left at the altar, maybe this V-card she's held on to for marriage is just a road block in finding someone who will love her forever. She sets her sights on the hot guy, Adam, that did the woodwork at her brothers home. He'd be perfect right?

Adam has his own issues to deal with, after all the woman he spent four years of his life with and was set to marry, walked away from him leaving her dog Tank behind. He's been warned to stay away from Kayla, but the thought of someone else being with her just doesn't sit right with him.

Adam at times will have you scratching your head, but Kayla is a free spirit and will have you giggling! This new series is the best! Make sure you grab your copy asap!

Dashing is the second book in Kylie Gilmore’s new Unleashed Romance series. This book is Adam and Kayla’s story along with Tank. We met both of these characters in the previous story. Adam and Kayla are sort of related since his sister and her brother are together. They met while Kayla hid out at her brother’s house after being stood up at the altar and Adam was working at the house doing some carpentry work. They became good friends while he worked and she watched.

Kayla asks Adam to be her fake fiancé to a party where her ex will be and although Adam doesn’t really ‘do’ parties, he doesn’t want her to go and see her ex alone. While together Kayla asks for another favor and that is for Adam to take her virginity! She believes that it’s time for it to be gone and she truly trusts Adam to take care of her and not hurt her. Adam is appalled! He is uncomfortable enough just being her fake date let alone taking her virginity! He says no and she immediately begins plotting ways for someone else to do it. She is definitely a woman on a mission! Adam hates the idea of someone doing it even though he doesn’t want to.

Meanwhile Adam’s ex blows back in town and assumes that they can pick up right where they left off before she left him for another man. He believes that in order to get the message across that he is no longer interested, he needs Kayla to be his fake fiancé for a while. Kayla agrees as long as he will take her virginity! Even though Adam really doesn’t want to do that, he says he will but plans to slow roll the whole process in the hope that she gets hired and moves before he does anything. The story is about their slow rolling fake engagement with Adam trying to get out of being physical with Kayla and Kayla trying to get him to speed things up.

This is a sweet story between two good people who’ve been hurt and their journey forward. Kayla is brave and fierce. Adam is reluctant and stubborn. While spending time together during their fake engagement, they begin to grow real feelings for one another. Kayla is willing to pursue these feelings even though she keeps them hidden, while Adam is stubbornly resistant to them.

I absolutely LOVED Kayla and her sweet bubbly nature. Her vivacious nature charms Adam and begins to thaw his hermit type nature. He was hurt so badly when his fiancé left him that he only wants to work and deal with his family. Her sunny nature begins to thaw him out and make him want to rejoin life again. Her dogged pursuit of a sexual relationship with Adam is fierce as is her love of Tank! She takes EVERY opportunity to put herself out there for him and he stubbornly holds out each time, though it does gets harder and harder to do so. I had a more difficult time liking Adam than Kayla because he was SO stubborn to give in to her and acknowledge his own feelings. Man that guy could say no like boss! After a while I felt that it was just too much and if he really wasn’t going to give in to her, he should just let her go. It seemed to get to a ridiculous point of stubbornness. Even though he eventually realizes that he loves her and wants to be with her in every way, it just seemed to take forever!

The development of both characters was very well done and we were left with good feelings for their future. Their sexy times were HOT with Adam showing that he definitely knew how to take good care of Kayla! While I didn’t love this story as much as the first due mainly to Adam’s stubbornness, I am very glad that I read it because the story was very well done. A surprise to me was who the next story will be about - I was thinking it would be a different brother! Looking forward to the next one and Congratulations Ms. Gilmore!

This was cute!

The story is shorter in general, so while stuff moved quickly, the relationship between Kayla and Adam didn't feel rushed at all. I liked the way it grew and how there was tension but it was because people were trying to be noble instead of some secret or outside force.

Kayla was great and I liked that she realized she trusted Adam enough to ask him for help. I did wish we weren't smacked in the face so much with her virginity. Like, I don't mind her decision to wait or the fact that she changed her mind. But we were reminded so often (like every time Adam didn't do what Kayla wanted) that it was because she was a virgin and just...while technically that was Adam's reason, it wasn't the reason at all. I don't necessarily blame her for having doubts, especially when confronted with Rob's revelation, but again, it just felt a little much. I did like the way she cared for Tank and how she stood between Adam and Amelia.

Despite all his grunting and nobleness (idiocy), Adam was great. I loved the way he took pride in his job and how he loved Tank and his siblings. His reactions to Kayla were hilarious and I laughed every time he'd consider her going to someone else but he wouldn't admit why he felt like that. His conversation with Drew was also entertaining. I did have to roll my eyes when Kayla got mad at him at Wyatt and Sydney's house because he was so confused but to be fair, that was because he hadn't admitted his feelings to himself so I get it. I did like the fact that he went after Kayla and told her how he felt although I wished he hadn't spent so much time with the "well she's going to get a job at the end of the summer anyway so this is for the best" because for all his talk about how he was proud of her and liked that she liked what she was doing and everything, he never bothered to ask/consider if she actually wanted to leave at the end of the summer. Yes, she'd made some comments previously but opinions and people change so...

Like the last one, I got frustrated that we had to be reminded of everyone's connection almost every time they're mentioned. I don't need to know that Drew is Adam's brother whenever he or Kayla saw him. Or that Sydney is Kayla's new sister-in-law. Or that Spencer is the chef. Once is enough!

Kayla and Adam’s love story in Dashing: A Friends to Lovers Romantic Comedy by Kylie Gilmore, book two in her Unleashed Romance series, is a steamy, romantic comedy, of two people, one who is a virgin and the other who can’t stop thinking about it. While Adam was working on Kayla’s brother’s house, she decided they were friends because of all the time they spent talking, or maybe it was her doing the talking. When she asks Adam to pose as her fiancé at a party, he says yes as her nut-job ex would be there. How her ex could show his face after dumping Kayla at the altar was beyond Adam. While driving home, Kayla confesses to Adam that she’s a virgin and tired of saving herself for marriage. After all, look where that got her. Not only that, but she wants Adam to be her first. After his fiancée cheated and walked out on him, Adam swore he would never get into another serious relationship. Telling Kayla no doesn’t stop her from considering other candidates; which Adam is determined not to see happen. When Adam’s ex- fiancée moves back to town, for the summer, he seeks Kayla and asks to continue the fake fiancée situation in exchange for helping her with her virginity.

These two might be opposites in that Kayla was outgoing and Adam was quiet but they were perfect for each other. All the little things Kayla did for Adam and his dog Tank were sweet. Adam was determined to go slow with Kayla, taking things one baby step at a time; not that Kayla tolerated it very well. Each step, each time together, each date, just made Kayla and Adam love each other more.

Ms. Gilmore wrote a wonderful and moving story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing secondary characters giving Adam and Kayla chance at love, happiness and the possibility of a forever together. I highly recommend Dashing to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is the second book in the Unleashed Romance series. This book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, fan your face steamy, a bit of hilarity, tearful scenes, cute pets, and heart squeezing love. Adam is a woodworker/carpenter in the small town of Summerdale who met and became friends with Kayla, a biostatistician, who was staying at her brother’s house where Adam was doing carpentry work. Adam’s sister, Sydney, just married Kayla’s brother, Wyatt, so they are sort of related. (You can read Sydney and Wyatt’s story in Fetching). Adam and Kayla are friends and enjoy spending time together but neither is interested in a relationship - Adam’s fiancee left a year ago to go to Panama with another man, and Kayla was left at the alter four months ago after a two month whirlwind relationship. Cue an agreement by Adam to be Kayla’s fake fiancee at a party where her ex-fiancee will be, but turning down Kayla request for Adam to take her virginity, followed by Kayla’s agreement to play Adams’ fake fiancee for the summer when his ex returns to town and wants to pick up where they left off, and we have the start of their journey to their happily ever after. On their way to their HEA, they each must deal with their own issues and past baggage in order to together build a strong, healthy and respectful relationship with each other. With Dashing, Kylie Gilmore again proves she a master of swoon worthy tales.

Another crazy good rom-com by Kylie Gilmore! Adam and Kayla's story is hilarious as we indulge in the amusing, self-deprecating, mental banter these two people have after they've each been dumped by their respective fiances.

After being stood up at the alter Kayla just wants to get rid of her v-card so no guy can ever use it against her again. That's where Adam Robinson comes in. Once he agrees to be her fake fiance for the evening she just needs to convince him to take it one step further. He may not have much to say and isn't the touchy-feely type but he's a friend and Kayla trusts him. But it seems Adam's agreement isn't going as expected and it looks as if a promise to keep the relationship platonic may end up backfiring for both of them.

Adam wants nothing to do with love or relationships after his fiance leaves him for a co-worker. He just isn't quite sure how to handle Kayla's request to be her fake fiance at a party her ex will be attending. What seemed harmless at first changes quickly when Adam needs her to be his fake fiance when his ex shows up back in town. Throw in a woman determined to lose her virginity, an overly protective brother, and an ex determined to stir up trouble and fun and entertainment ensue.

I loved this book! I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.

This is the 2nd book in this series and I enjoyed it as much as the first.

Kayla is heartbroken after her boyfriend leaves her at the altar. Feeling humiliated, she runs to her big brother for comfort and to heal.

Adam, working at Kayla's brother's house, somehow is helping Kayla in her healing process just by letting her hang out with him while he works and talk to him, constantly.

They develop a kind of friendship and when Kayla's invited to a party where she knows her ex will be, she asks Adam to go with her and pretend they're engaged. It goes pretty well. Adam is protective and Kayla realizes her ex is a jerk!

Soon after Adam's ex blows into town wanting to get back together. Adam blurts out that he's engaged and asks Kayla to pretend they're engaged to keep his ex away, who's in town for the summer. Kayla agrees but under one very specific condition. This is not going to be easy for Adam.

Although they decide to keep things casual, you can't always be around someone so often, who you like, and not expect some sparks to fly.

Can't wait for the next book.

This is the second book in the series and I enjoyed it. This can be read as a standalone, but reading the first book tied in all the characters. We meet Adam and Kayla in book one. They are the siblings to Sydney and Wyatt, so we get to know them which made me want to read their story.

This is a story about a friendship turning into more without either one realizing that is what they wanted. Both have been burned by love so neither have any intention of going down that road again. Kayla has a proposal for Adam and he does his very best through most of the book to do the gentlemanly thing and avoid it, but the pull is too strong.

They fall in love without even trying and that is what I really enjoyed. What I struggled with a little bit was the constant reference to her virginity. It became her identity and she was so much more than that. I enjoyed watching their relationship develop and they got their HEA. Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a really good book about Kayla and Adam! Kayla needs Adam to pretend to be her fake fiancee when she has to see her ex at a barbeque. When Adam learns his ex will be in town for the summer he asks Kayla to repay the favor. Kayla asks for something in return since it will be the whole summer. Adam fights his attraction to Kayla and puts off helping her get rid of her virginity. Then Adam decides to give in a little to his attraction and helps Kayla a little. These two can't keep their hands off each other until they go to Kayla's brother's barbeque and Adam says that it's casual. Adam doesn't realize how much he has hurt Kayla until she doesn't come around him for days. Adam knows he has to do something to show Kayla that he loves her.

The best part of this book for me was Kayla coming into her own. Experimenting with the unknown sexually internally but always demanding her wants and desires. Her natural loving nature is what gave Adam defenses a run for their money. His heart and need crumpled because of the woman who was the marrying type was also the type that didn't devalue herself. She complimented his quiet and reserve. She championed his passion along with her own.

Fake to nothing to reality. A perfect dream come true.

I love the chemistry between Adam and Kayla with a fake engagement and Kayla desire that Adam is the only one to help her with her problem. Adam and Kayla are both hurting from their ex’s and faking a engagement to help each other. Adam is moody, quiet and creative while Kayla is fun, flirty and intelligent both with intense chemistry. If you love small town romance stories with sincere, protective, fun loving characters this book is for you. I could not put this book done and looking forward to the next book in the series. I received this book as an arc for an honest review of it.

This book hooked me from the first chapter and kept me guessing what was going to happen next. I loved how Kayla was determined to get what she wanted and Adam out up a good fight resisting her. I laughed several times at Kayla's methods of persuasion and the how Adam eventually gave in.

This book was has it all, scheming to get her goal, good friends who know what's going on, plenty of laughs, and two people falling in love.

I enjoyed this book so much I'll be rereading this book again before the next in this series comes out.

No grammar rant necessary for this one. And the hero is NOT a controlling Ahole. Instead we get the tried-but-true virgin trope. This couple is actually more interesting and more believable than the previous one, although Kayla is a bit naive for a twenty-five-year-old. She has a graduate degree, friends, and she can read, so not understanding dirty jokes seems like a stretch. Grad school humor can be geeky, but it's filthy too. The romance is kind of sweet and accidental, and there's even a bit of a plot. Much better than the first one.

Dashing is the second story in this series. Readers were introduced to these characters in the first story, Fetching. I love the character development within these stories. If I feel that I can identify with her characters, I’m more engaged in the story. Adam & Kayla are best friends until they went to a function as dates. This made them each more aware of the other. The tension builds between them as they try to navigate these new feelings & figure out where they go from here.

Love and dogs!

Kylie does sweet with heat perfectly. In this second book of her unleashed series ( don't worry it can be read alone) she proves that sometimes friends can make the best lovers. Adam and Kayla have both had bad luck in love but maybe together they can turn that luck around. Maybe it doesn't work the first time because something better is coming along. Go ahead. Read it. You I know you want to!

Kayla is a sweet 25 year old who was told to wait for marriage by her Mother and took it literally until she met Adam, the master craftsman working on her brother Wyatt's house. Adam is interested in her but way after over protective Wyatt threatens his manhood is he goes near her unless he is very serious. When they both find themselves in need of a fake fiancée they spend time together. Sparks fly when Kayla wants Adam to be her first and he's worried about what her brother will do as Adam isn't into serious relationships anymore. There is a great mix of fun, frustration and spice..

Adam needed to make up his mind

Adam and Kayla are friends. He doesn’t want to hurt her after she gets dumped at the altar by a jerk who just wanted to get in her pants. Not to mention her overprotective brother is breathing down his neck, she has far away job offers and his ex is trying to steal his dog. But will he realize she’s the best thing for him before he looses her?
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to everyone.

Kayla and Adam became friends in the first book of this series and now we get to see them fall in love. These two are opposites and Adam tries very hard to resist all that Kayla is offering but in the end he has to admit that he doesn't want anyone else near Kayla. Their story will make you laugh, swoon and fall in love and hate the people who have hurt these two wonderful characters.

I really love the town of Summerdale. This is such a great series. I love Kayla and her cheerful personality. She was having a hard time at the end of the first book, so it was good to see her happier and falling in love. Adam has been burned in love before, but he cannot resist Kayla's pull. The whole book is the push and pull between them as they flirt with sex and love.

Kayla is a virgin and she and Adam are friends.

Kayla decides that she does not want to save herself for marriage anymore and wants Adam to do the deed. I mean, who better than a friend whom you trust...right?

Adam is resistant until he finds out Kayla is looking for someone else to deflower her.

Will Adam Capitulate? Why does he care so much who Kayla chooses?

Sweet story! Adam and Kayla were friend zoned due to Kayla’s ex, but the ex coming to town was what started the friends-to-lovers path. I had fun reading their banter. Kayla was clueless, but then again Adam kept his feelings hidden pretty well.
