The Fall of Titan

Rate this book
Peace of the 24th century is shattered when aliens called the Orias attack the outer rim of the solar system. Argon Keston, a cadet of the Imperial Command, joins the Fleet to defend his home colony, Titan. Meanwhile, Emmeline Augury, a cadet of astrophysics, believes she has unraveled the key to the mysteries of the universe. A mythical device of immense power that can neutralize the Orias and take humanity to the next level of space exploration.

But her claims are based on a myth, not on science, and winning the interstellar war is imperative. Everyone, including Argon, wants her to help. However, Emmeline defies rules and logic, and follows the clues left by her ancestors to discover plaque, the key to unlocking doors to the seven realms and unearths a part of the mythical device. Before she can celebrate, tragedy strikes hard. She is charged for conspiracy and second degree murder and thrown behind bars by her own people.

She knows her fate is sealed forever; she gives Argon the mythical device and wants him to continue her quest. Unfortunately, for them, her discovery has caught the eye of a power-hungry alien Queen, and the worse is yet to come.

What began as a scientific adventure turns into a manhunt when a fleet of Orias attack Titan and the Queen threatens to slaughter everyone unless she gets the device. Emmeline must make a choice, save Titan or the mythical device. The choice is made, and it will transform her life forever!

The way I write and approach research has been shaped (bless me!) by many incredible people. These individuals can be grouped into three categories: researchers, authors, and mentors. They’ve created websites, shared their struggles through blogs, published their work, and, from these varied sources, I’ve learned so much. Their journeys have inspired me in countless ways, and now, I feel it’s my turn to pay it forward. 😊

About Me

Born and raised in India, I wrote whenever I could—even after becoming a doctor. Writing was my savior during tough times, though it always remained just a hobby. Later, I moved to Australia to further my research and complete a PhD in Biomedical Sciences.

People often say, “You change after completing your PhD.” I certainly have. Suddenly (don’t ask me why!), I feel a strong urge to write more books and share my stories with the world. I’ve also discovered a deep passion for helping others develop their research and creative skills—something that has become one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.

Fantastic Read!!

Great beginning to an epic sci-fi saga! Remarkable strong characters blended into a unique plot that is set in the future. I particularly like the idea of the characters from military and science background, and particularly enjoyed the tension between them. The novel has multiple twists that keep you at the edge of your seats. In a nutshell, Fall of Titan will not bore you for a second! It’s is written for all ages, and even if you are not an avid sci-fi fantasy fan, you shouldn’t miss this one!

What a book! I'm not usually a fan of sci-fi but I've seen this book floating around Twitter and have been intrigued by the amazing reviews. I decided to download it and give it a go. After a few pages I was hooked, wanting to know what was going to happen.

There are so many amazing elements to this story; relationships, space, aliens, war, etc... that every page is filled with excitement and intrigue.

I definitely had a few little sobs and I'm hoping that book two sheds some more light ton some of my favourite characters.

Great read! This book has everything I love in scifi: action, splendid world-building, and aliens. I was also pleasantly surprised by the important role an antiquity had in the storyline. My husband and I recently finished all available episodes of The Expanse, and this book gave me the fix I needed when the shows ran out. Fans of A. G. Riddle, Michael Crichton, and The Expanse will love this book!

Ahedi has penned a gripping and imaginative tale set in a futuristic world in which the earth is no longer inhabited by people. The world-building in this story is masterful, and the aliens are far more threatening than anything Sigourney Weaver faced in her movies! A must read for sci/fi fans!

“Sc-fi fans will love this, Air battles, Confusion with Young & Old pilots flexing their muscles.”
“Fall of Titan” by HG. Ahedi”
Action packed start from the word go. Spaceships at the ready and flying all over the sky. Made me a bit dizzy if I’m honest. The start is somewhat heavy with characters. I had to do my usual diagram of who’s who. I really wish the writer would slot the relationships/ ship formations and ownership etc… at the beginning, it would help people like me who can’t cope with so much info at once. Not my usual genre, I’ve read it as part of a book club.
Once I started to get involved in the story, I was eager to see how things evolved. The story telling is very imaginative. I the love character Emmeline, her curiosity and unwillingness to give up when she feels she’s going in the right direction, very commendable. Some of the other characters lead me to want to question their motives for why they are doing certain things. Do they want war? Are they really who they say they are? Are they all carrying false motives, old scores that need settling? At one point I am really left wandering.
Whether I love or mistrust the characters the investment is there I need to know who’s up to what and where the story is really taking us. It’s full of intrigue and plotting to find out about an ancient plaque that her grandfather told her all about. Is it all nonsense or will Emmeline’s curiosity and daring lead her to keep searching be her downfall?
It felt like the book took a dip at about 50%. I can’t exactly pinpoint it. It just felt like lots of description and no balance as if the writer is drifting, while introducing the new set. Then bang she introduces another Strong evil character and the state of play changes. Now I am so invested in the story I must stay up late to find out the story’s conclusion... I am not sure the ending took me there. Very cleverly or was it painfully …I have to read the next one. But it’s not our yet ……..
I’m afraid only by reading this book will all come to light.
A 5-star review for this book is deserved as the story line is well written and thought out interwoven within all the initial groundwork of the story.
Well, Done.

This book was an absolute ROLLERCOASTER to read. Ahedi is an author I have read works from before, so I am kind of familiar with their style of writing. It's a simplistic and descriptive style. Like other novels in the SFF genre, long descriptions are often needed to create the sprawling world that the author has created, and Ahedi is a master of this. I was able to easily visualize even the furthest reaches of space in a span of a few paragraphs.

The format of the book was rather unusual for me, because Emmeline's story is told from a limited third-person point-of-view and jumps between many characters. Like a movie, the camera (or author, in this case) seems to follow whoever is most important at the time. It allows for a very encompassing style of storytelling where a reader misses nothing! I don't usually enjoy this type of writing because it can seem jarring, but Ahedi managed to do it in a seamless fashion, and I loved every second of it.

As far as characters go, there is a rather large cast. Readers of this particular genre won't be bothered! I've seen enough episodes of Star Trek to be able to handle an entire space crew plus some aliens, lol. The ensemble cast is large, but there's no extras. Everyone is important in their own way and no one overlaps. They're all well-defined and stand out. My favorite character is probably the commander of the ship, Anastasia. She seemed to show the most growth from beginning to end, and that's always what makes or breaks a character for me.

Now, I do have two minor complaints. One, I struggled to get through the beginning. It seemed to drag on, and I had some trouble connecting to the characters while such BIG events were happening. Now, I don't think this is something that other scifi readers will LOVE. It just wasn't for me! But let me tell you, at about 8% in, things really kicked on, and I was sucked in! My second complaint is a little more... personal.

WHAT THE HECK YOU MEAN BOOK 2 ISN'T OUT YET? Seriously? I have screamed into my pillow already, and I will continue to cry until December.

Astrophysics student Emmeline Augury is investigating historical documents which lead her to believe in the existence of an artefact which could give the human race the edge in the battle for survival against the alien Orias.

The tension builds in this well-imagined and constructed story to the climax of immediate confrontation with the leader of the Orias and some tough decisions needed by Commander of the Titan, Anastasia Waters. The outcome remains to be seen in the following two volumes of the Realm trilogy.

I’m not much of a fan of sci-fi, preferring to watch it rather than read. It’s hard work to imagine the futuristic technology invented by writers, and I tend to glaze over after a while—which isn’t to say that this isn’t an excellent read for those who enjoy the genre more than I do.

I read this as part of a book club.

I enjoyed The Fall of Titan and stayed immersed in the novel for two reasons: the cast of characters and lots of twists, turns and action! The author did an excellent job of developing each character just enough for me to understand their motivations and personalities without going overboard, and the storyline/plot kept me wanting to turn the page. This is a Sci-Fi, Space novel that read to me like I was watching a good movie, like Star Trek or even Star Wars. I liked the powerful female figures who came across as role models. I appreciated there was no gratuitous sex or violence, and the entire story seemed real and believable - which is scary since the plot involves a sinister alien species. The ending leaves open the door for book 2 which I will definitely read.

Ahedi starts her sci-fi story with a battle scene with an unknown enemy, which hooks the reader. During this fight you get acquainted with the protagonists, their world, and their feelings. While preparing for a second attack, another plot appears as a second heroin, Emmilene, attempts to dissolve a criminal case against her grandfather. This leads to a search on a forbidden part of Earth. As in real life some of the characters you root for will die and some will live. This is what makes your heart race as one of your favorites is no longer part of the story. A great ending will make you hunger for more. Thankfully there is another coming soon, I hope.

When I started reading The Fall of the Titan, it took me a while to bond with the characters because you get introduced to rather many of them and it is a little hard going to get into the story. Don't be put off. It's so worth sticking with this, because soon the intrigue and tension starts building to intense levels! After about half way, it was hard to put the book down. I had to keep reading and was rewarded with an explosive and rather unexpected ending. The last third of the book convinced me it's definitely worth five stars! Perfect start to a Sci-Fi series. I will definitely be reading the sequel too!

This author is amazing, and did such a good job with this book! I was not disappointed at all. If readers love anything that is pure Sci-fi then this is the book for them! Aliens! Something that catches my eye due to wanting to know what their plan is. When reading the book I would find a surprise of some type, and I was never bored. This is the second book I have read from this author, and I want to read more! I am not going to spoil anything but the end of the book will make you think wait? What just happened? I cannot wait to read the next one in the series! Well done to the author!

Ahedi starts off with action and doesn’t stop in this jam-packed novel. You start getting to know her characters and motivations right away in the first few scenes which sets you up to be invested in them and the result of the battles to come. Usually, with self-published authors, there’s a concern about the style of writing and the amount of editing but it was well done in this novel. I found myself immersed in the mystery that was Emmilene’s past, cheering for Argon, and by the end already knowing that of course, one novel wasn’t enough. Definitely recommend it to any sci-fi fan.

A wonderfully crafted space drama

H G Ahedi has written this book masterfully, handling characters and plot elements like a pro. The setting is truly other-worldly and Emmeline's character, despite being three centuries away from us, seems relatable. Argon and Delta are characters we root for.
And the best part? That this is just the first book in the series we will be having many more!

A fantastic beginning to a epic saga.
A mixture of mythology, science and archeology makes this such page turning story. If you are a hard core Sci fi reader, this may not fit your book as it is a mix of Science fiction and fantasy- but if I were you I would give this one a shot.

Great work. The battle at the start was tremendous and the story that follows is a classic scifi tale of good versus evil splayed out over the the edge of our solar system. Fans of Star Trek and also Indiana Jones (you'll see why in the book lol) will love this story

I really struggled to get into this one. It had all the hallmarks of an epic introduction but I found it to be very bog-standard, uninspired scifi. The characters are forgettable and described horrendously, and there is a lack of kineticism in the writing.

Not for me, sorry.

A Sci-Fi Adventure of Power, Survival, and Mystery

H.G. Ahedi’s Fall of Titan is a thrilling sci-fi tale full of adventure and creativity. The narrative is exciting and well-planned, with standout moments like the portal exploration and New York’s post-apocalyptic scenes.
While the introduction of the Orias queen felt a bit out of place, and the book could use a stronger edit for grammar and structure, it remains a fun and imaginative read. For those seeking an action-packed space opera with a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, this book is a solid choice.

What a book! What detailing! It made life on an entire space station come alive for me. I am not a big science fiction reader, neither am I a fan of Star Wars or Star Trek, but I have seen the movies and believe me THE FALL OF TITAN ranks HIGH UP THERE there in recreating and bring to life a world and life on a space station, The Titan. If I could give it MORE THAN 5 STARS I would. Powerful writing by H G Ahedi.
It's war with an alien species, coming from shadowy and scary origins, and at the same time there is a mythical device in play. A powerful alien queen is seeking it at all costs, she doesn't care what she lays to waste to find it. There is so much action, mystery and secrets in this book. Its my version of a science fiction thriller.
I loved the characters and the loss of a few beloved characters hit me badly. I wanted them to survive, I wanted to see them in BOOK II and III of the Realm series.
H G Ahedi knows her stuff, if you are a science fiction fan and even if you are not, and you haven't read books by this writer you are definitely missing out big time. Highly recommended.

H. G. Ahedi’s novel Fall of Titan is the beginning of a sci-fi epic mostly taking place within range of the perimeter, a shield built by the spacefaring humans near Saturn to protect Earth. Constructed after, a comet named Nemesis impacts Earth and decimates the population.

The perimeter is the location where humanity makes violent first contact with an alien species dubbed the Orias. However, this becomes a much-needed shield when the humans realize the extent and power of the Orias fleet.

The space station Titan watches over the perimeter, and while the command crew faces the political ramifications caused by the appearance of the Orias, Emmeline, a young astrophysicist, strikes out with her friend, Delta, to unlock the secrets of a mysterious plaque handed down through generations in her family.

Author Ahedi immediately thrusts the reader into the action, instantly capturing the reader’s attention. Even though the book starts off with a bang, I felt it was hard to follow all of the characters’ names that the reader is introduced to within the first few pages. However, once past the opening chapter or two, the book’s pace does slow down and becomes a smoother read.

The author has created a compelling plot filled with tension as we follow Emmeline’s quest to unlock the plaque’s mysteries. This quest forms the centerpiece of the novel. The author seamlessly transitions from different character perspectives during the events on Titan station, allowing the reader to understand the emotions and thoughts of each character. Some you will be rooting for, and others not so much. H.G. Ahedi manages to fit a lot into only a few hundred pages, and all of it drives the plot forwards to its culmination in an explosive ending that does leave you wanting to know what happens next.

Fall of Titan is an epic science fiction novel with paranormal fantasy elements that keep readers on edge. This first contact series takes off with a compelling mystery taking the protagonist and readers on an adventure and lots of action as different races battle for dominance in the galaxy.

DNF. I try to give books roughly 50 pages, or maybe 25% at least. This one lasted 16 pages, 5%.
I spotted 5 scientific inaccuracies in the first 10 pages! The very first sentence was about the silence of space. Well, space is NOT silent because there are too many machines (including spacesuits) around in order for people to live! A SciFi author should know that. Then, the protaganist thought of the deadly gases just outside the airlock. Hmm. I thought it was a vaccuum up there. Well, maybe this space ship is on a planet, or in some clouds of a planet. Nope. It's hiding in the rings of Saturn. Any science-knowledgable person knows the actual particles, rocks, etc in the rings are extremely far apart. They aren't gases. And, you can't actually hide there unless maybe you attach yourself to a sizable chunk of something. Which would be kind of neat actually. But that's not what the author wrote.
The last straw was pure male-oriented paternalistic crap writing. There was a female captain of a ship, who was described down to what she atractively wore, including her wavy hair tied up in a bun. Two sentences later, a male officer was described as blue-eyed, short, with red hair. What about his wavy hair? What about his clothing? Was he handsome? Nope. Women have to be assessed and judged, even by modern day writers who should know better.
Then she had to struggle with her emotions in order to follow her orders. I mean, really? I read no further, but I would imagine this author would never have a male struggle with his emotions.
Save yourselves the irritation and don't read this book. I certainly will not be looking at anything more by this author, either.

Action Adventure!

The book has a lot of actions, mystery, and tough choices. Full of battles and brave heroes. It takes you to the world of Titans rule, and you must fight to survive. It keeps you hooked and wants to find out what’s next adventure. It remind me of Star Trek series that aired used to watch. If you love sci-fi with lots of thrilling adventures, this book is for you.

This is a really great science fiction book. It has elements of history adventure, finding a document that leads to a mythical artefact. A bit like the goonies in space. It has a well structured plot, and well developed characters. It is a coming of age type book. This will be a firm favourite of sci-fi lovers.
