MEANT FOR THIS is for anyone with a dream inside their heart they can't ignore. The kind of dream that feels too big, or too impossible to ever become a reality. Whether you've put it on the back burner for years, or you've been working towards it your whole life, this book will breathe new life into it and create a whole new world of possibility.
As artists and dreamers, we're flooded with discouraging "That dream is going to be really hard." "Good luck winning the lottery!" "Do you really want to be a starving artist?" Not only does this tempt people to pursue something more "realistic," but it also robs us of hope and sticks us with a dead end.
Meant For This is just the opposite. Finally, a book that understands the artist's journey and guides you with a refreshingly motivating perspective. Through 20 chapters of personal stories, exercises, and actionable content, Hollywood's Success Coach Erica Wernick shows you the strategies and mindset that has helped countless artists turn their biggest dreams into reality.
Erica has built a career providing support and strategy in a way that was desperately needed in the Hollywood industry. Between Erica and her clients, they've booked work on over 60 television shows and films on Netflix, Hulu, HBO and every other major network under the sun, working with A-listers, starting their own companies, and landing opportunities they never had before.
This book
Erica first walks readers through the mindset of a High Achiever. It's about accessing your Star Power and taking on a set of beliefs that unleash your potential like never before. You want to achieve the exceptional? You want to achieve what most people never will? It starts within. You have to be exceptional to achieve the exceptional.
Then Erica shows you how to tangibly make your dreams happen. Once you become the person you're meant to be, you can take the actions that will propel you forward. Erica digs in deep to practical strategies about making connections, asking for what you want, and creating the most effective plan for even the biggest dreams.
The last section of the book covers the edge. It's the power behind the truly exceptional results. From breaking the rules, to expecting miracles from the Universe, this section is the cherry on top of the cake. It's what successful people do differently, beyond the principles we've heard before.
People who succeed at high levels do things differently. Meant For This will show you exactly what they're doing and how you can achieve everything you feel meant for.
This book gives stars permission to call themselves Stars. It gives dreamers the courage to do the big things in their heart. When you don't achieve something you feel you're meant for, the agony is one of the most excruciating experiences. This book ends that pain, replaces it with joy and epic fulfillment, and subsequently expands the light in a ripple effect of dreams realized.
No dream is too big or too impossible. If it keeps whispering to you, it's time to answer the call and live the life you've always dreamed of.
This book is a masterful tool for anyone with an “impossible” dream. Full of inspiration, mindset mastery, and actionable strategies for anyone looking to get to their next level. Highly recommend!
I love the premise of this book and the mindset of the author: you can and should pursue your biggest dreams even if they seem impossible. But overall, it was a bit too "woo" for me with not enough emphasis on concrete strategies for pursuing big goals and persisting.
If you're just not able to believe the universe gave you your dream and therefore, you're bound to succeed if you keep at it, or that "everything happens for a reason," this book might not give you enough gusto to be worth buying.
That said, I did appreciate some of the mindset and practical guidance, especially earlier in the book. I just wish there was more, like in the part about working backwards from your dream (a few examples would have been great) or when the author talked about how you'll achieve your goals if you keep pursuing them. It's just a matter of when. I do appreciate that mindset, but I wished the author had more directly addressed how to cope with *not* living your dream for what could be decades.
Anyway, if you're the kind of person who's into things like vibrations and divine destiny, or you just find a lot of value in pep talks, I think you'll love this book. I found some good stuff here too, but wanted more concrete whys and hows to pursue my "impossible dream."
This is a book that every single artist in every discipline should read. Anyone out there who thinks that your dreams are impossible, that those dreams don’t matter, that you should give up or not even start, read this book. It’s the jolt of positive vibe juice you are searching for.
I really liked this author and this book! I will read it again. It was inspirational, and motivating, and it felt like talking with an optimistic friend or coach who's cheering you on. I knew a bunch of points that she made (so it was very agreeable to me), and these are all points that it's genuinely beneficial to hear multiple times, in various ways. That's why I'll read this book again.
Why the one less star? Respectfully to the author, it was five stars all the way through, until about 2/3 through the way of it, it started to feel like a long pep talk- this is not bad, but I felt like it was taking so long to read, when it really wasn't... It still offered good information, and I finished the book, but near the end, it also felt repetitive and like a bit of a slog to get through. Still the last 1/3 was absolutely worth reading, but carried this feeling a bit. But I still hovered over 4 or 5 stars, but ultimately, that's the reason that I gave 4 stars.
I loved LOVED this book! Found out about Erica through Film Courage Channel (even though my dream/goal in life has NOTHING to do with films at all 😂), and I loved her message and way of explaining things so much. If you want to read something that makes you want to stand on a table and dance, because you're so excited about your own power, than this is the book for you ❤️
Inspiring, motivational and supportive. Grateful that this book came into my life. It is, one of those books you'll read again and again and never donate. A book for dreams and to keep with you for the rest of your life.
I loved this book. This is the first self help book I've come across aimed at actors. It has a clear strategy and amazing examples related to the acting industry!
This book is exceptional for anyone struggling with self-doubt (hello, creative writers & artists, this book is for us). I loved her direct writing style & examples with concrete steps on how to pursue your dreams. I’ve seen a lot of self-help books dance around these subjects, but Erica tackles them head-on. There is definitely a certain mindset and way of taking actions that determines if you will succeed or fail in anything, & she clearly outlines how to choose strategies that work instead of limiting yourself. Very inspiring — am rereading it again.
