This is a Cute Sweet Amish Romance, and this is the second book in the Hearts of Lancaster County series. This book follows twin boys well men find love. The twin boys are very different, and one of them made a big mistake. I love following all the characters in this book, and I really loved the storyline in this book. I feel that this book keeps you wanting to keep reading with the little drama that pop up. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Forever) or author (Barbara Cameron) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
The Amish Baby Finds a Home by Barbara Cameron is a cute Amish tale. Twins Gideon and Eli Troyer are complete opposites. Gideon is a toy maker who is thoughtful, patient, and thinks things through. Eli is the more spirited twin. He is reckless, a farmer, a charmer, and likes to have fun. Gideon has been courting Hannah Stoltzfus and is ready to pop the question. The sudden appearance of a baby who resembles the Troyer twins changes Gideon’s plans. I enjoyed this sweet story. I thought The Amish Baby Finds a Home was well written with developed, realistic characters and situations. My favorite character was John, the charming baby found in the toy shop. He is such a sweetie and a charmer. I appreciated the epilogue that nicely wrapped up the book. I was drawn into this moving story, and it held my attention to the end. While The Amish Baby Finds a Home is the second A Hearts of Lancaster County Novel, it can be read as a standalone. The Amish Baby Finds a Home is a story that will tug at your heartstrings. The Amish Baby Finds a Home is a heartwarming Amish tale with a charming farmer, a thoughtful toy maker, a generous quilt maker, a muddled mother, and blissful baby boy.
Life is never simple even for the Amish. When Hannah Stoltzfus discovers an abandoned baby at her boyfriends toy shop, life becomes a little complex. Hannah and Gideon Troyer have been dating for awhile. He encouraged her to start her own quilt shop two doors down from his own shop. They have enjoyed getting to know each more and with the baby suddenly in their lives and the circumstances surrounding the baby, Gideon puts off purposing to Hannah. The baby changes every thing.
Without giving to much away with the circumstances of this baby, their story pulled me in. The baby offered hope and redemption. Gideon and Hannah learned thru this baby the need that things are never what they seem and the good others is often times your good as well. It takes faith to live up to your responsibility and love to sacrifice for the good of the others. The baby's parents were blessed by Gideon and Hannah and discovered what mattered most.
A special thank you to Grand Central Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
Amish Baby Finds a Home by Barbara Cameron is filled with humor, joy, and blessings. I love second chance romances and this book has it too! An Amish couple are courting when a baby is left in the Amish man's toy shop. He needs to find out who the baby belongs to and what to do if he cannot find its parents. He immediately freaks out and and pushes the unwanted baby to his Amish girlfriend. Hannah stands up to him. She puts Gideon in his spot. Those moments are funny because Gideon is helpless with the infant. However, the way he forces Hannah into helping is deeming that just because she's a woman that she should take care of it. Although, Hannah wants to spend time with the baby she wants Gideon to accept his responsibility since it appears to be his kin. Barbara Cameron brilliantly weaves faith, love, and hope in this heart warming Amish novel.
I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.
Gideon Troyer and his twin brother own a farm together but Gideon has a toy shop in town and his twin is in charge of the farm. Gideon's girlfriend, Hannah Stoltzfus, owns a quilt shop down the street from Gideon's. She is eating lunch with him at his shop when she discovers an abandoned infant in his shop. There is a note telling Gideon that it is his turn to take care of the baby for a while. Gideon's twin brother is the father and Gideon is anxious for him to step up and take the responsiblity. This is an interesting story and all of the characters are people you wouldn't mind having for a friend. Anyone who loves this genre will enjoy this story very much.
I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
This is a beautiful, heartwarming, sweet story that bring insight to love in the Amish community. It is a story with great characters, a beautiful storyline and is well written. There are also a number of Amish words used throughout (the translations are at the back) which gives it a very authentic feel and brings you into the story.

Thank you Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for allowing me to read an ARC of Barbara Cameron’s upcoming new book, THE AMISH BABY FINDS A HOME, publication date, August 24, 2021.
Gideon Troyer is a toymaker and farm owner with his twin brother, Eli. Gideon finally decides it is time to ask Hannah Stoltzfus, the quilt shop owner and longtime friend to be be his wife when to his surprise a baby is left in his shop. This little one has a strong Troyer resemblance.
Will this baby change Gideon’s plans for he and Hannah?
Again, Barbara has given us a “can’t put it down” book. 5-stars all the way.
We meet Gideon and Eli Troyer, twins who are very different, and together, own the family farm. Gideon also is a toymaker with his own shop and is the very responsible brother, while Eli is somewhat wild. Gideon’s special friend, Hannah Stoltzfus, owns a quilt shop a few doors down from Gideon’s shop. Gideon is very close to proposing marriage to Hannah when a very unexpected event occurs in the way of an abandoned baby left on the doorstep who bears a striking resemblance to the Troyer men.
As Gideon and Hannah strive to find out who the baby belongs to, they experience many emotions concerning their relationship. This is a very sweet Amish romance that you do not want to put down until you have read the entire book. I highly recommend it to those who enjoy Amish romances.
I received a copy of this book from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and NetGalley. The opinions expressed are my own.
The Amish Baby Finds a Home by Barbara Cameron is a delightfully charming Amish romance. Although this latest release is the second book in the Hearts of Lancaster County series, it can be read as a standalone.
Gideon Troyer has a successful toy shop where he sells the toys that he makes. He also helps his twin brother, Eli, on their family farm. Gideon is dependable and takes his time making decisions. He is level headed and very kindhearted. Gideon is keeping a mental timetable for his relationship with Hannah Stoltzfus but will an unexpected complication alter his plans?
Hannah is the owner of a popular quilt shop. She is a sweet young woman with a sunny nature. Hannah is the first to lend a helping hand when someone needs assistance. So, when she discovers a baby in the back of Gideon’s toy shop, she immediately takes charge of his care. Neither she nor Gideon knows who the baby’s mother is, but they are certain they know who the father is. Will he step up and take responsibility for his child?
Hannah and Gideon have been courting for the past year. Although they love each other, neither has confessed their feelings. Gideon has a lot to offer to Hannah but when something out of his control alters his plans for them, will he allow this unanticipated change to ruin his future? And will Hannah hear Gideon out when a misunderstanding arises?
The Amish Baby Finds a Home is a captivating romance with a heartwarming cast of characters. Gideon and Hannah are multi-faceted, appealing characters with realistic flaws. The interactions between the various family members tug at the heartstrings. The story arc with the baby is heartfelt and the resolution is uplifting. Hannah and Gideon’s romance is very sweet but will how will they handle their first major disagreement?
Old and new fans of Barbara Cameron’s Hearts of Lancaster County series are going to absolutely love this newest installment.
The Amish Baby Finds a Home by Barbara Cameron is book 2 in A Hearts of Lancaster County Series This is another excellent book by Barbara Cameron it will pull you in right from the first page. Gideon Troyer is a wonderful character he has commpassion, strength of character and most of all he wants nothing more than to be with the women he loves. Hannah Stoltzfus is friendly, kind, and will always remember the kindness Gideon showed her when she opened up her quilting shop. This book will remind you how friendship and faith can carry you through even the darkest of times, it will also show you that the twin bond is strong and lifelong that together they can build not only a faith that will lead you through anything but a strong solid base to stand on together to support a family. I highly recommend this book.
This sweet Amish story will just tug at your heart strings. It has all the perfect elements of a wonderful storyline, engaging characters and a great setting. Twins Gideon and Eli Troyer are as different as night and day. Gideon is a toy maker who owns a shop in Paradise, Pennsylvania. Eli is an outspoken farmer who has made some past choices that find him in a difficult circumstance. Gideon’s friend Hannah is shocked to find a baby left in her quilting shop with a note saying his name is John. Emma, John’s mom has come back to town under difficult circumstances as well. Along the way baby John helps to show his parents what a true family is. I felt sorry for Emma when her parents treated her harshly. Leah, the twins mom was so warm and welcoming. This story shows what family, faith, friendship and forgiveness mean to Amish families. A not to miss story!
This book can absolutely be read as a stand alone. But I would recommend starting with the first book in this series (The Amish Midwife’s Hope). Details from book 1 will provide you with good background details leading into this sweet tale of not one, but two couples finding their happy ever after. The Amish Baby Finds a Home was a surprise two-for-one story and I absolutely loved it! It was just the story I needed to transition out of my typical summer reading and lead me into the fall.
This is the second book in the Hearts of Lancaster County series by Barbara Cameron. It's a story about Gideon, a toymaker, and his sweetheart, Hannah. Enter Eli, Gideon's twin brother and his former girlfriend, Ella. Whose baby is this that showed up in Gideion's shop, and why does the baby bear such a resemblance to Eli?
I enjoyed this story, but it seemed a little slow moving to me.
Eli and Gideon are twin brothers who decided when their father died, they would co-own the farm and whichever one of them got married first, that couple would live on the farm. Both of the brothers are complete opposites. Eli flies by the seat of his pants with spur of the moment decisions. Gideon is more thoughtful and plans things out. Gideon is on the verge of asking his girlfriend Hannah to marry him when a baby is left at Gideon’s toy store. It bears a strong resemblance to one of the twins.
How will the baby affect Gideon’s proposal to Hannah and if she chooses to marry him, will she live on the farm with him?
This book had an easy to follow storyline and tugged at my heart strings anytime John the was mentioned. I read it from beginning to end without putting it down.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest opinion and review.
I rated the book 4.5 stars but rounded to 5 stars here and on other sites.
THE AMISH BABY FINDS A HOME is the second book in the HEARTS OF LANCASTER COUNTY series, and I’m looking forward to not only to reading more in this series but also other books written by Ms. Cameron.
The story held my interest from the first page to the last. This is Gideon and Hannah’s story, but his twin Eli’s relationships are also a part of it. The characters have trouble communicating, which makes for conflict and the potential for healing when they do end up talking.
Eli’s baby adds another layer to the story for everyone. He brings out the best in them while they love having such a sweet baby in their midst. The interactions between the various family members feel real and inspire emotion. Gideon and Eli’s mom welcome Eli’s ex-girlfriend and their baby into their family while making sure that Eli does the right thing. But by doing so, might Eli’s actions derail Gideon’s plans?
The story is entertaining and evenly paced with a great ending and nice closure. I liked that there was a glossary of Amish words in the back of the book, in addition to several recipes. There are also discussion questions that gave food for thought.
THE AMISH BABY FINDS A HOME is filled with drama, romance, and love, and a definite must-read!
I rated the book 4.5 stars but rounded to 5 stars here and on other sites.
