3.5 stars! Awwwww this was super short and sweet. The story was not bad for the book being so short. But Bethaney is so quirky for being tall and getting pimples when she eats sugar 😖😖. Other than that, I feel like they moved sooooooo fast.

This one felt like a first time write, not something a seasoned author would put out there. It was choppy in the transitions. The relationship moved to quickly for my taste without enough evidence of getting to know each other. I felt like we were told, not shown. I didn't understand some of the dialogue. There were a few times one of the characters would blush or apologize for something they said, but I didn't get what was embarrassing. Her quick exit when he was leaving town was unexpected. I thought she was upset about overhearing his phone call, but suddenly she felt they were moving to fast? It was like she had pictured them more as a summer fling or something, but we'd hadn't known that until that moment. I felt like all the desperate kissing was an attempt to make them look like they were closer than i felt they were. I wouldn't read this one again.
This was a good read to pass 30 minutes. This is my first read by this author and I wouldn’t mind reading more.
When Pierce returns to Luck Lake, he runs into his childhood crush. The only problem is that she doesn’t recognize him. Bethany is reluctant to let this “familiar” stranger change her town, even if he does own it, but she can’t escape her feelings for him.
I realize it was marked as a short read, but I wish there would have been more depth to the characters and the plot. This book would be good for someone who wants to finish a book but is low on time or during a beach day.
The Billionaire’s Crush by Bree Livingston (3.5 stars)
A quick read without too much angst. A simple, sweet love story...just the thing for those times when you want an HEA, but don’t have the time to commit to a full novel.
A man comes back to the town he visited as child (and has just purchased) and runs into the girl he had a crush on for all those years.
*poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special
I love that this story was written by one of my favorite authors. Brew can tell a heart touching story in both a few words, and in a longer book form. Her stories are never dull, and she writes about realistic characters and places, which put the reader into their lives. The Billionaire's Crush is easy to read and it took me to a state I've never been, but was totally able to visualize. Plus, I love uncomplicated billionaire romances.
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Pierce Westwood purchased the town of Luck Lake where his family had spent numerous vacations with the intent to revitalize it. When he arrives, the girl he had a crush on in school, Bethany Holland greets him, but not happily. She doesn’t recognize him, but after talking with him, decides to give him a chance. An uplifting short read.
I enjoyed The Billionaire’s Crush. I enjoyed its shortness and cleanliness. Memories of childhood happiness bringing adult happiness happens so seldom that is a pleasure to read about these happy moments. Very sweet romance!
I’m really getting to know this author and enjoy books so much. I’ve read all of them except for the firefighter ones. Next on my list to read. Great sweet romances.
It was anything but a story that guaranteed a millionaire. It lacked all the elements of a story: no depth, no good characters, no real plot, not even chemistry between the two characters, and not even a suitable story to tell.
Very short read and I knew this going in. I listened to it on audiobooks and used my credit on this book, I wouldn’t going forward, this book should have been free! VERY CHEESY! If a guy said half the stuff he said in the book, I would have laughed! Not realistic in my opinion!
Basically this is a one chapter book. Could have been a trailer if it was a movie. No character development. Just quick crush turning into love practically overnight, Then of course your HEA.
A crush from childhood that turns into love. I liked this book because it didn't delve in steamy love scenes. It kind if focused on building a relationship based on friendship that grew into love.
Short story means there is less development and depth in the story. The characters are very sweet though and I found myself cheering for them. A quick and sweet read.
Short and sweet, just like I wanted! Sometimes, all you need in life is a quick fluffy romance to get you through a long Monday 🤣 and this very definitely did that.
- it was kinda cringe, I'm sorry - and it was just the author telling me what happened instead of showing me - and it felt like the summary of an actual story, just flesh it out a bit more!
This was super cute! I’m giving 5 stars because this caught my attention right away, and it kept it until the very end. I hope the second is just as good!
