Ok I have to say this first...I need an epilogue or two. KC Crowne, I can't believe you ended the story there. It did end happily but I need more to feel complete.

Mountain Daddy's Fate is the second chance romance of Eli Harvey and Charlotte. They were high school sweethearts. After graduation, they moved to San Diego so Eli could complete his training with the Navy. While he was out at sea Charlotte broke up with him and ran home. She broke Eli, setting off him spiraling, not completely knowing what happened.

Thirteen years later Charlotte is planning on escaping from her fiancé before the wedding in a few days. He had been verbally keeping her down and then it led to a physical fight. Just by chance, Charlotte runs into Mrs. Harvey. Seeing Charlotte needs help Mrs. Harvey jumps in getting them both to Utah and to stay with Eli.

Peter, Charlotte's ex fiancé sets off trying to ruin her reputation both the personal one as well as the professional one. Eli and Charlotte are struggling with their emotions. Neither has stopped loving the other. Elia's brothers are worried he will end up in another dark place when Charlotte breaks his heart again. Charlotte also has a secret that has kept hidden from Eli. Will he hate her when he learns about it?

Charlotte is a strong woman. Sure she isn't perfect but she does know how to stand up for herself. Being with Eli, Charlotte seems to find her own voice that Peter quieted. Eli has such a wonderful heart. His ideas to help the town show just how much he cares about others. He also is willing to break his heart again to be there for Charlotte when she needs him.

All of the brother, their wives and kids are in the story. It is great to see how the families have grown. Mountain Daddy's Fate is part of a series, with each brother and some other men in Liberty getting their own book. This latest book in the Men of Liberty is my favorite. I recommend the book as it is full of romance, twists and mystery and it will rug on your heart strings.

We return to the town of Liberty for Eli’s story, but things don’t quite begin there. They take us on a detour to Red River, TN where he had roots to an first love Charlotte. Charlotte has just been through something many women in this world face every day and out of fear or hopelessness they don’t get out. She has been physically abused by her fiancé that she is about to marry. This man has power and is abusive in more ways than just physical and soon Charlotte is going to learn just that. With the help of an old family friend she doesn’t know she even has still (Eli’s mom), who still lives in Red River and happened to cross paths with her; convincing her how she knows all too well about men like Peter, she is able to escape. Charlotte has a secret from her past, the past she shared with Eli, she also has not seen him in over a dozen years; she doesn’t know if this is a good idea to be going to his home for help? Will he want her there? You can see that from the first moment that Charlotte and Eli are back in the same space that the chemistry they once shared is heating back up and they are fighting to resist. It is hard to imagine how two people stayed away from each other for so long. It can only be pure stubbornness on some level or is it fear of secrets they have? It is not long before the two of them fall into each other’s arms and things heat up for real this time. At the same time it doesn’t take long for Peter to find Charlotte either. What will Charlotte do? Will she fight back or hide forever? Peter seems to be out to ruin her in order to force her to return. In the meantime of Charlotte trying to find a way to share her first secret from so many years ago that led to her walking away she finds out that her and Eli have even more to talk about. Will Charlotte be able to get away from the clutches of a man who has been hurting her? Will he be punished for the things he has done? Is there a future for Charlotte and Eli? This is a must read to see all the exciting twists that you never expected.

This second chance at love romance offers plenty of sweet moments, tender reconnection and intriguing suspense. The characters are wonderfully relatable and easily drew me into their story. Eli and Charlotte were high school sweethearts and then young lovers when she left him thirteen years ago. Both were heartbroken and unable to forget the other or the indelible impression their love left on their hearts. Now she is on the run and in need of protection from her abusive and manipulative ex. A chance encounter with his mother has somehow led to her being ensconced in Eli’s home and under his protection in Liberty, Utah, far away from her home in Tennessee. Much to his brothers’ dismay and their objections, Eli has stepped into the role of her protector, unable and unwilling to turn her away. Even though her leaving him all those years ago sent him on a path of self-destruction which took him years to escape, his heart still yearns for her. It doesn’t take long for them to give into the desires that have been simmering below the surface, though both realize afterwards that it was a mistake to do so. Nothing has been resolved between them, and she is still reeling from her broken engagement to her nasty ex. Eli and Charlotte agree to keep things platonic between them as they investigate incidents and notices defaming her character and implicating her in all manner of unsavoury things. But their hearts and attraction will not be denied even as secrets from the past are revealed and their future together is threatened. Will they get their second chance at a happily ever after?

Wow this book was amazing, I loved all the characters from the this entire series so far and being book 11 I cannot wait to read the book 12 Declan’s story. Charlotte Grey has loved her high school sweetheart Elijah Harvey (Eli) and he has for her to and every thing they did it was together and so when Eli joined the navy they moved to San Francisco and it ended badly. Now on the run from an abusive ex fiancé Peter Simmons after he left her with a black eye over wedding stuff she calls it all off and it doesn’t go down well with Peter and he sets about ruining her career. Her high school sweethearts mother takes her to Utah where Eli now lives and hopes that they can rekindle there love for each other and also he can protect her with his life. When your mother calls and said she is bring someone home that needs his help she never said who it was and at that moment when she walked through his door he new there was nothing he wouldn’t do for her because he still loved her with all his heart. To say his brothers are worried is an understatement they where there when he fell apart before and they don’t want it to happen again. Can two sweethearts get a second chance at love with everything that happened years ago and what about the man she was about to marry does she have feelings for him and who now is out to destroy her if she doesn’t come back to him. Feelings are super charged in this book and miss understandings and lack of communication isn’t helping either so can they get it all together to have a future they both want.

Continuation of the series Mountain Men of Liberty book eleven Charlotte and Eli’s story. Charlotte and Eli high school sweethearts that moved to San Diego where Eli shipped out with the Navy and was going to be away for a year. A matter of days after Eli was gone Charlotte had a miscarriage and lost their baby that Eli knew nothing about. Charlotte being young, all alone, no friends or family broke up with Eli, cut all ties with him with no explanations. Thirteen years later Charlotte and Peter living in their hometown where they all three grew up are to be married. Peter loses his temper and gives Charlotte a black eye. Charlotte happens to run into Eli’s mom and she takes it upon herself to wrangle a way to get Charlotte to Eli’s house where him and his brothers can protect her all this without being completely up front and honest with Eli. So Eli is shocked to see Charlotte. It doesn’t take long at all and they discover they both still have deep feelings. This story runs you through the emotions roller coaster with love, hate, betrayal, disappointment, cheating, loss of life, physical and mental abuse, heartbreak, corruption and careers and reputations on the line. The characters are very good together and their chemistry doesn’t take a break. I do have to say wasn’t a huge fan of the abrupt ending just thought there should have been MORE. I absolutely love this entire series. One of my favorite authors. I am looking forward to the next book. A fantastic read
Charlotte couldn’t believe that her fiancé had punched her and left her with a blackeye a week before their wedding. She knew she had to get out and leave but she knew that Adam was a very powerful man. She had to think, she just didn’t have the time when she bumped into her exes mum she persuaded her to leave and go to Utah and stay with her sons. They would protect her. But that meant seeing Eli again. And when she saw him all those feelings came back and all the hurt of why she left him back when they were so young.
Eli had thankfully be on the straight and narrow for the last year. He had never got over losing Charlotte and tend to drink and partying to hide his feelings. It got to the point where he just didn’t remember what he done the night before and he knew he had to stop so one year on and he was in a good place. And then his mother bought home Charlotte who had a blackeye and it left him with a feeling of wanting to hurt who ever had hurt her. Could you keep her safe and keep his hands off her??
This is a fantastic read the storyline is brilliant and there is just so much going on that you don’t know which way is up. Her ex is vile and Charlotte and Eli work together to get her life back. I really enjoyed their connection it just seem to be so electric. I could read this book over and over again.

Char decided she needed to be strategic and plan her exit. She was reluctant to take the easier way out and run home where Eli was living. When they were younger, she and Eli were a sure thing. Then shesuffered a tragedy and abruptly left, with no explanation. Eli and his brothers only had his house left to finish and their Mother's of course. Char decided to accept Mom's help and return to Utah. Eli's Mom stayed with him when she visited. This time, she said she would bring a 'guest'. Char was a big surprise, a welcome one, but a surprise. Will Charlotte reveal her secrets? Will Eli forgive her? Does Peter find Charlotte? Will Eli go after what he wants? Is Charlotte ready to stop being Peter's victim? Will Peter look for his 'possession'? Interesting twists, turns and more secrets. Miscommunications add to the confustions. Nice story. This is a story about a couple that was high school sweethearts and they get a second chance at love. Mrs. Harvey wanted to take Charlotte to her sons one being Eli which was Charlotte's ex from High school and early adulthood. Charlotte left Eli 13 years ago both heartbroken. Mrs. Harvey let Charlotte believe that Eli knew she was coming to his place. Eli was shocked to see Charlotte with his mother in his house. It had been a long time since he saw her but she saw the black eye and wanted to kill whoever hurt her. Charlotte had a secret she was keeping from Eli about the reason why she left him all those years ago. With all these feelings going between them will Eli keep Charlotte safe from Peter? Does Charlotte come clean with Eli about the reason she left him? Can Eli forgive her for leaving him? There is so much drama in this story it will keep you reading for sure. Grab some tissues and a drink along with some snacks and be prepared for an afternoon of reading with this story.

No she should have realized she that Mrs. Harvey could see right through her flimsy story.
And that It had been the her charming fiance whom left that darn bruise and not a door or anything else.
Charlotte knew her little sister had a volatile temper and trying to keep her from running off was no easy task but she needed her to understand she'd had some tough choices to make and very little time.
To say my mother dropped a huge surprise in my lap; was the understatement of the year.
She said she was bringing a plus one with her not once did she ever mention it was one of my old girlfriends.
But the moment I really looked at her I understand why because my mother has a big heart.
Unfortunately my now ex-fiance is showing more of his true colors and he's out to ruin my good name and destroy my business that I've built from the ground up but what really hurts Is all the fair weather friends.
We had an interesting history together Charlotte and I shared many firsts an being young and maybe on the dumb side we just fell apart.
I know my brothers are really concerned that I'll do something stupid but the fact I'm oozing male hormones and she's quietly responding to it yeah we're on a collision course to horizontal land.
However eventually will needed to deal with the issues that broke us if we're ever going to have a chance at an even better future.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Charlotte Grey and Eli Harvey. When this book opens we find that the man Charlotte was going to marry has just hit her after she made a decision about her own wedding bouquet. She knows at that moment she can't stay she won't be in an abusive relationship. The problem is though it is a small town and where will she go. Sure she can work as a freelance architect anywhere but where will she live? When her sister calls since they supposed to meet for lunch she knows she has to cover this up. Little did she know while trying to get supplies she would run into her ex's mother. When she offers her a way out she isn't sure but after some pushing is heading to Utah. Eli can't believe brought the one woman who can bring him to his knees or the bottom of the bottle. He tells his brothers he is fine with her being her it will be just like another job but he knows that's a lie. The more time she spends near him the more he wants what they could have had. Will they find a HEA or is the problems Charlotte left behind going to kill any future she might have?

This is another amazing story by this author. Yes it has its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin the story for any other readers. I will say this book is unlike the other brother but you see everyone all over again. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

This is an edge of your seat story it will pull so many emotions out of you.Anger at a man hitting a woman.And second chances for a man Charlotte left broken years before but now they have a second chance.Charlotte knew things had been bad between Charlotte an her fiancee Peter for a longtime but to be hit over not choosing flowers he wanted was the final straw she just had to figure out how to get away from him an not marry him in a week since everything was already set up.As she tried to cover the black eye an bruising on her face her sister a real firecracker called saying she wanted to meet for lunch she couldn't come up with a good excuse so she went to the pharmacy to find makeup to hid the black eye when she runs into Lillian the mother of Eli who's heart she broke ten years ago when Lillian sees the black eye she says she wants to help an her sons can keep her safe.When she thinks of facing Eli again she feel such heart ache for hurting him he was the best thing she ever had in her life an she has to face him an tell him how sorry she is. There are so many twists an turns to this story that you will be riveted until the very last page an leave you begging for more. I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes an you can feel their emotions and their pain. I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.

Runaway Bride run smack into her Mountain Man past.....can they have a future together

Mountain Man's Fate is the eleventh book in the Mountain Men of Liberty series and is a second chance with your first love story between Charlotte Grey and Eli Harvey. They had been high school sweethearts years ago that are about to get a second chance when they find themselves under the same roof. Charlotte has run back home, well more like escaped, with the help of Eli's mother. She is a runaway bride from her abusive and overbearing fiance. She ends up staying with Eli and before you know it those old feelings for both of them start to creep back to the surface. Well actually those feelings never went away as they are meant to be together. But Charlotte may be attracted to Eli but can she trust him or for that matter her own decisions enough to make a future in Liberty, Utah.

This is a nice addition to the series. The book is well written, has an engaging story-line and wonderful characters. Well all except for her ex Peter. But Eli's mother makes up for that ten fold. Oh and let's not forget that little bundle of joy that Charlotte and Eli find themselves having to deal with also before this book is over.

Charlotte and Eli were high school sweethearts and after 13 years of being apart, when tragedy strikes he is there for her. Even after all the pain she caused Eli he couldn’t not protect her when she needed him. Charlotte was engaged to Peter and was getting married in a week, but then his true colors can to light because she wanted one thing only in the wedding since he controlled everything else. So although she didn’t want anyone knowing until she had money to escape it was inevitable when lol sis comes to town and wants to see her before the wedding and go dress shopping. Another, finds out about the abuse first and makes a way for Charlotte to get away if she chooses. Mrs Harvey was a life saver and got her away but things don’t fly over smoothly and repercussions come. So now that Eli is helping Charlotte, bc his mother set it up, how will these two deal with feelings that were never properly dealt with??? With reputations, Careers, corruption, betrayals, heartbreak, and new and old feelings on the line, what will come of this journey??? It was an epic emotional journey that I wasn’t ready to see end!!!!

Charlotte's fiance' hits her during an discussion on their wedding. This scares her enough that she starts thinking of a way to get away from him. She runs into an ex boyfriend's mom who ends up helping her. This is how she ends up on Eli's place in Utah. Eli is stunned when he sees Charlotte again and all his old feelings come rushing back. However when he sees the bruise on her face he gets angry over it. His brothers struggled some about her being there because of how hard Eli had dealt with her leaving him but they wanted to try and help her with her ex. Soon it was like no time has passed between them and things were heating up between them again. Charlotte's ex was causing her problems but she didn't think it would go towards her relationship with Eli. Charlottel had a secret she hadn;t told him. Would she get the chance to tell him before her ex exposes it? Can Charlotte and Eli get their second chance?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Mrs. Harvey was back in Tennessee when she ran into Eli's girlfriend from high school. Mrs. Harvey was the last person Charlotte wanted to run into. She just wanted to get into the local CVS and get some makeup to cover the black eye her fiance gave her and meet her sister for lunch. Instead Mrs. Harvey offered to help her get away by taking her to Liberty, Utah where her sons live, and they would even be able to protect her. She ended up going there but needless to say the boys were all surprised to see that their mother had showed up with Charlotte, but she did not know the true extent of her leaving Eli had caused him. With the other three brothers married and with families, it left Eli to provide housing and most of the protection. It immediately brought back all of the old feelings they had for each other. Piece by piece everything was coming out of any she left. They had a new threat to fight now with her ex back in Tennessee. He was trying to wreck her character and career. What would be next? There was lots of drama and intrigue to keep you engaged.

Every book in this series is a stand-alone but reading them in order helps with the brothers stories. This is Eli’s story. Charlotte and Eli Harvey were high school sweethearts in TN and when he joined the service, she followed him to Ca. While he was away she left him breaking his heart. 13 years later she supposed to marry Peter in a week, who she has been with for over 9 years. A argument with him over flowers ends when he punches her and leaves a black eye. She runs into Eli’s mother while buying coverup and his mother instantly tells her she will help her get away from her powerful, controlling dangerous ex and brings her to Liberty, UT where her sons live. Like the rest of this series the Harvey boys use their security business background to band together to protect her from her ex and his plan to ruin her not only emotionally, but professionally through lies, manipulation and having the local sheriff in his pocket. Charlotte and Eli never stopped loving each other but Charlotte needs to come clean with why she really left and pray it doesn’t end their reunion before it starts.

Delightful second chance romance

Charlotte and Eli had been a couple in high school. Eli went in the Navy and Charlotte moved to San Diego to be with him. He was sent overseas and she discovered she was pregnant. She suffered a miscarriage after horseback riding and believed it was caused by her horseback riding. Charlotte was alone and heartbroken. She was so upset about the miscarriage that she left him. She never told him about the pregnancy.

Charlotte had been dating Peter for about ten years. She had finally reluctantly agreed to marry him. He was always controlling and verbally abusive but after a silly argument he hit her giving her a black eye. Charlotte came upon Eli's mom who whisked her away to Utah where her 4 sons and families were.

Eli and Charlotte are still very attracted to each other but are trying to restrain themselves. They do have a sexual encounter once. Now Peter has been trashing her name and convinced a co-worker to claim that Charlotte had copied her work. This caused many clients to leave her. Now, how can Charlotte's reputation be saved and Eli and Charlotte get together. Buckle your seats and enjoy the ride.

Her fiance gives her a black eye Charlotte leaves him then meets Eli her high school sweetheart.
Peter her fiance was controlling and was deciding all the details of their wedding but Charlotte has insisted that she design the bouquets for the bridesmaids and herself but when she shows him a mock up he gets angry insisting that the flowers are all white and the types of flowers use. Upset at this last bit of choice being taken away she refuses and he hits her giving her a black eye. With this violence she know she must leave but has no idea what to do. She is due to meet her sister for a meal and on the way there she meets Mrs Harvey the mother of Eli her high school sweetheart who notices the dark glasses and gives Charlotte her details. As she is talking with her sister she gets a message from Mrs Harvey telling her she has arrange a ticket for her to Utah. When she gets there she finds that Eli is now living there.

Oh, the heat is HOT, and the physical chemistry is captivating so be careful you may just get burned all the heat coming off these pages. There were some "oh no" "oh wow" " what the what" moments and add in uncanny mishaps, and shenanigans the good kind that makes you keep turning the pages till last page has been turned. The two of them met and became high school sweethearts but life took on a life of its own separating the two but leaving them connected at the heart but both with a broken heart. Charlotte left Eli at a time he needed to know she was there for him but she left for a good reason or so she thought. She is on the run from her ex-fiancé he is a controlling and violent jerk and on the run she runs into Eli’s mom. We all know when mom’s and grandma’s get involved, we have a good time ahead of us needless to say his mom tells him what is going on and yep his heart won’t allow him to do anything else but help her but will he continue once he learns of that secret she kept from him years ago

Once again we are in the world of the Mountain Men of Liberty and while each book is a true stand alone story do yourself a favour and read them all you won't be disappointed as KC Crowne definitely knows how to write a story that draws you and keeps you engaged until you turn that last page

Years earlier actually over a decade Charlotte walked away from Eli while he was away at sea with the navy There was far more to the story than what he knew but he never forgave her Now Charlotte is engaged to a abusive man and the wedding has to be delayed as she is sporting a black eye She runs into Eli mother and she gives her a chance to escape this entails going to stay with Eli He isn't so sure but he would never allow Charlotte to be hurt spending time together they soon realise they have feelings for one another and when secrets from the past are revealed they both have to face the consequences. Can they have a future together and can Eli keep Charlotte safe you will have to read to see

Charlotte broke up with Eli 13 years ago and now she needs his help. Eli is still in love with Charlotte and he was devastated when she broke up with him and now his mother shows up with Charlotte who needs Eli and his brothers’ security business help. It’s like winding the clock back 13 years but they have both grown up and are each more handsome and beautiful than ever. He never stopped loving her and never really knew why she left. She didn’t tell anyone. And the cat and mouse game that her ex fiancé, Peter, is playing with Charlotte is getting under her skin. But she’s got Eli in her corner. Every woman wants a man like Eli, strong, fierce, protective, loving, charming, handsome and a family man. A great love story, a great mystery, and an ex fiancé who is a piece of work. An excellent, excellent story. Great characters, great writing. I really, really loved it.

This was an incredible story with drama, intrigue, and romance. Charlotte got into a fight with her fiance one night and he beat her for it. He has been manipulating her for years and this was the last straw. She ends up going to live with her ex-boyfriend, Eli, who is working in security and protection. She left him because of a certain incident 13 years ago and it is apparent that they both still harbor feelings for each other. Lots of drama enfold as her ex-fiance tries to manipulate her into coming back and marrying him and her trying to figure out if she wants to return to Eli. It is an amazing story with plenty of plot and plenty of emotional scenes. I could really connect to the characters and understand how they felt about certain situations. I loved this book, this storyline had me gripped from the start. Charlotte flees her upcoming wedding, heading straight towards her ex boyfriend for protection. Whilst there, she doesn’t plan on old feelings resurrecting like never before. Eli however has never gotten over Charlotte and after spending years trying to sort his life, he doesn’t think he can take a chance with her again. What he doesn’t know however is that Charlotte has been hiding a secret for all these years. I loved all the characters in this book, they both deserved happiness after everything they had went through. With lots of suspense, drama, heartbreak and love, with a beautiful happy ever after, it is such a fantastic read!

Wowza! I thoroughly loved this second chance story of unexpected love! It will capture your heart! Eli and Charlotte were great together and the chemistry between the two is still there. It has plenty of emotion, romance, danger, secrets, and a whole lot of steam.
Eli’s mom arranged for Charlotte to escape her abusive ex-fiance. They arrive in Liberty to stay with Eli her highschool sweetheart. Both were shocked to see each other. Seeing Eli again reminds Charlotte of the secret she’s keeping. Eli and his brothers will protect her from her ex who will go to any lengths to get her back. 💞
