A fiercely protective bad boy. An innocent reporter in serious trouble. They shouldn’t work, but after he throws her onto his bike, there’s no going back.

If Josh Lehman learned one thing as a Green Beret, it’s patience. Josh founded the Sentinels of Babylon because he was sick and tired of watching scumbags cheat the system—scumbags like the man who murdered his sister. Of course, if Josh’s sniper rifle was linked to the death of his ex-brother-in-law, that might be a problem. The bigger problem is the nosy reporter who’s this close to exposing the club. Josh has to find a way to keep her hot mouth from talking . . . but he’ll be damned if he lets someone take her from him. Not on his watch.

Ashley Carver thought she’d do anything for a scoop. That was before her latest story leads to multiple attempts on her life. Ashley’s been investigating a homicide that has gone unsolved for five years when she uncovers evidence tying the vigilantes of the Sentinels of Babylon to a revenge killing. Now she’s in their crosshairs. But after Josh defies all notions of club loyalty to come to Ashley’s aid, soon they’re burning up the sheets—and taking on the world.

Sentinel’s Kiss was previously published by Random House. This new edition has updated editing and new scenes. While it's book two in the S.O.B. motorcycle club series, it can be read as a stand alone. No cheating. No Cliffhangers. Just pure unadulterated sexy times with a hard as nails alpha male and the woman who dared to tame him.

3.5 Stars!

I like the idea of the anti-heroes doing vigilante work with the help of a judge. This had a great plot about a series of murders that was killing pregnant, abused wives of men who are members from the Poconos Hunting Club. This was personal for Josh since the first victim was his sister. Ashley comes in as the reporter on the murders. Ashley interviews Josh when his sister was first murdered and two years later she shows back up again when several copycat murders have come to light. Up to this point, Josh believed her husband got away with the murder but when the copycats became known, the Sentinels of Babylon decide to investigate before they take out his sisters husband.

While I enjoyed the plot of the story, I did not enjoy the main couple...at first. Josh came off as a jerk and Ashley didn't have much self respect. They first hooked up when she interviews him after his sisters funeral. He then proceeds to forget about her for two years until she pops back up to investigate the additional murders. Josh doesn't want her poking too much into the investigation since the Sentinels plan on taking out the bad guy, so he only pursues her to babysit her. This did not make for much of a romance in the beginning, but then Josh realizes he wants more. Now normally it would be too little, too late at this point except this couple actually turned it around for me. Once they committed, I started to like them and enjoyed the story more. I loved the epilogue and we got enough of a teaser for Ryder and Travis that I'm looking forward to their story. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Loved the cover and the blurb for this one but in the end the story didn’t work for me. The writing was dry, more like a rough draft than a finished piece. The vigilante plot was interesting but raised more questions than answers and I didn't hate the MCs but I didn't much like them either.

Josh aka “Sentinel”, didn't exhibit any softer side when it came to Ashley up until the very end and when Ashley wasn’t off playing at being Lois Lane, she had a one track mind.
[image error] photo 8FC084E5-CB34-4E33-821D-D078502C8426_zpszj2xhpma.gif

This was lacking that emotional pull between the MCs. There was no build up or sizzle and I found it hard to believe they would really have a HEA. That rushed and choppy intro of their ONS two years ago pretty much sets the mood for the rest of the book. I read that they had an instant connection but didn’t feel it. I read that there was something special pulling them together but again, didn’t feel it. Even the sex left me feeling detached.

This does end with a HEA, an epilogue months down the road and a baby on the way which was cute but not enough to rate any higher.

For the safety gang:

'Sentinel's Kiss' by Jamie K. Schmidt is book Two in the "Sentinels of Babylon" series. This is the story of Ashley and Josh aka..Sentinel. I have not yet read the previous book so for me this was a standalone book.
Josh's sister was killed two years ago which has left him heartbroken and wanting vengeance. So with him and his friends have formed a Club of sorts to deal with bad people. Josh still has vengeance in site for his brother-in law who he thinks killed his sister.
Ashley is a reporter and she met Josh at his sister's funeral. Where they were both instantly attracted to each other an acted on that attraction with a one time encounter. Now two years later Ashley is looking into new information on Josh's sister death along with some other women that are being murdered. Ashley has gone back to interview the brother-in law and Josh. When they both meet again after two years they find they are still attracted to each other. But Josh is still keeping a cold attitude with her at first. Yes, he has sexual contact and says sexual things to her but his is keeping his heart and emotions tightly bound to him. But with Ashley looking into these death it has put a target on her. Can Josh move past the pain and accept that he has feeling for Ashley? Can Ashley remain save and try to help bring this killer to justice?
This was a very exciting, drama filled...hot read!

Erotica more than MC but it works. This group of vigilantes and their partners are a colorful group of people who have been friends since childhood and have gone on in life to serve in the military, law enforcement, CIA, and as a corrections officer. They also work with a judge who has decided that like they are, he is also tired of people getting away with things they shouldn't. He calls the hits and this group follows through.

Sentinel and Ashley met the day he buried his sister. He was in the military, special forces, and she a reporter. Two years later she's back on his radar as he is casing his sister's killer, or who he thinks is the killer, and she walks right into his camera lens.

Now he's full-time SOB (Sons of Babylon) and she is a feature reporter and is doing a follow up on his sister's death and the fact that there are more similar murders, making this a possible serial killer and the fact he hasn't been caught yet.

Chemistry wise the pick up where they left off but morally and ethically is still questionable. It's his job to keep an eye on her while the SOBs take care of business. The thing is, he feels a little more than just a responsibility for her.

When things get more difficult and there is a cop on their backs will he be able to convince her they are right or will it be too much for her? Do they have more than chemistry?

I will read the first book of this series next. I'm on the fence on whether I will continue after that or not because I really like the idea of the SOBs and their missions, but I think the amount of sex and the part it plays in this story detract from the book. I don't say that much. We'll see where it goes from here.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Nessuna donna è mai riuscita a conquistare Jake come aveva fatto lei, così esuberante e ribelle, passionale e disinibita.

E tu?
Ashley lo guardò sbigottita. — No, — rispose debolmente.
Forse poteva funzionare. Forse sarebbe andato tutto a rotoli. — Vuoi dire frequentarci, uscire insieme?

— Anch’io.
— Divento irrequieta e comincio ad annoiarmi. Mi lascio andare a gesti folli, pericolosi.
— Ashley ridacchiò a quella battuta.

Love The Sons of Babylon

Josh/Sentinel is determined to find out who actually killed his pregnant sister. Ashley is a tough nosed reporter looking for Sarah's killer as well but she thinks her death might have been done by a serial killer. Sentinel and his friends make up The Sons of Babylon who are there to dish out their own form of justice to the bad guys who fall through the cracks. So you can imagine how Sentinel and Ashley should never connect so that the vigilante Sons of Babylon aren't outed.

Let's just say that their chemistry is sizzling and the twists and turns make this book. I can't wait to see what's next in line for the Sons of Babylon.

Josh knows how to get a reaction out of his lady, “when you interview me, don’t wear any underwear.” He hung up on her shocked gasp." I loved when Ashley teased her man, "rolling her eyes, she said, “I guess we’ll have to take the Jeep. Have I mentioned I like riding in your Jeep?” She emphasized the word riding and reached down to stroke him through his jeans." I loved this book, I love seeing characters from the previous books develop more.

This review is based on the ARC provided to me by the author and/or the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

It has mercenaries who ride motorcycles taking care of those that are guilty that got off on a technicality. Vigilantism at it's sexiest. Much better than the first, and I loved the first.

**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

Ashley Carver is a journalist. Tragedy struck in her teen, causing her to be an adrenaline junkie. The adrenaline takes over the depression she feels most of the time. Twelve years later she's still chasing that high. Having some of the hottest sex of her life in the back of the jeep of a sexy biker who just buried his sister.

Josh Lehmen (Sentinel) is a member of the Sons of Babylon. A vigalante club working on the orders of the "judge". The people they go after are guilty of horrible crimes that for one reason or another justice was never served. It's been two years since Josh's sister was killed. He knows her husband Stan had something to do with it. Just when he was about to make his move he sees the face of a woman he hasn't seen in two years. Why was Ashley talking to Stan? Did it have something to do with Sarah's murder?

Ashley has information Josh wants. Josh still carries that danger that Ashley needs. Can two people complete dangerous for each other make it work?

I enjoyed Sentinel and Ashley's story. I like the suspense aspect trying to figure out who the killer was. Josh and Ashley were insta-love with explosive chemistry. I'm interested to see where the next story goes.

The SOB's are back! I couldn't wait to get Sentinel's story and hopefully get to the bottom of his sisters murder.

I loved Sentinel's story! What a character! Tough, badass, and a kind soul all wrapped up into one. And Ashley is great, head strong and a spit fire. They were perfect for each other.

The plot is great. It kept you engrossed the entire time. Sentinel and the SOB's are out for Sarah's, Sentinel's sister, murderer. Ashley is a reporter. Being that the SOB's are a group of vigilantes, I'm sure you can see how a reporter would be trouble for the group! Murder, mystery, and hot, steamy scenes, what more can you ask for?

Sentinel and Ashley both have tough issues from their pasts they are dealing with. Throw in getting to the bottom of Sarah's murder, and a serial killer on the loose; they have a lot to deal with. Can they work through their lifestyle differences and help each other move forward? You definitely want to find out.

A fun and exciting story filled with mystery and action. I can't wait to see whose story is next. I'm hopeful it's Ryder and Munson!

Sentinel's Kiss (Sentinels of Babylon #2) by Jamie K. Schmidt
3 stars
M/F Military romance
Triggers: Murder, kidnapping
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

This has a long, twisted story line. It was somewhat convoluted and predictable, which I found to be somewhat disappointing.

Josh has a kind soul, but has done some very unkind things. He has some vengeful thoughts regarding his sister's murder. He has wanted to find out how to bring the killer to justice and he will stop at nothing to find a way to do just that.

Then you have Ashley. She is a pitbull when it comes to a story. Not only will she protect a source, but she'll put herself in harms way to get the answers. When she stumbles on a story that involves a special hunting club, she finds herself in the path of Josh and his vigilante group.

Despite the significant plot development, I think that this story was too predictable. You knew that in the end, they would be together less than half way through the book.

Even with the twists and turns, which weren't very dynamic, you could see the ending. Overall, this was a fairly successful love story, but not a very successful revenge story.

I was given an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest and independent review.
A raunchy romance with a hot alpha male who is part of a group of men who act as vigilantes, ridding the world of scum. He is trying to solve his sister's murder. The female lead is a news reporter involved in investigating the case. ( NO SPOILER ALERTS). Together they are explosive. With lots of steamy sex and some action this is an easy, "not to take too serious" type of book.

**I received a copy of Sentinel's Kiss from Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**

Sentinel's Kiss by Jamie K Schmidt is the second book in her Sentinel's Of Babylon series. This boo0k is Josh (Sentinel) and Ashley Carver's story.

Ashley Carver comes from money but you wouldn't know it as even though she craves the thrill of adventure when she was a reporter going to the middle east. She now has a job with a television station that leads her to reconnect with Josh Lehman, her childhood friend as she digs into his sister's murder and several other women whose husbands are members of the Poconos Hunting club. This story could be hazardous to her health because the men who are club members don't want anyone discovering what the do on those "trips" and it's definitely not hunting. She also has a secret that has caused her to stay far away from babies because of the loss of her own. When she finds out what Josh does for the hospital his sister was a doctor at it will show her that he's absolutely worth losing her heart to him. It will take everything Josh has to keep her safe from someone who doesn't want her finding out the truth. But will she and Josh want to become more than a booty call?

Josh Lehman and his childhood friends have formed The Sentinel's of Babylon who do what the lawyers and judges cannot, punish those who hurt their families but get off scot-free with the help of the legal system. But when Ashley comes to him with information that would re-open his sister's unsolved murder case he will help her solve who killed her and the others. But can he convince her that he can become more to her than just a lover? Can he keep the secrets of his group and their mission to stop the murderers who don't go to prison? She's a very good reporter and it will be very hard to keep her in the dark. When push comes to shove he will do anything to show her that their love is everlasting.

I loved this book but would recommend reading the first book, Necessary Evil, prior to this one so that you know who and what the Sentinel's of Babylon are more than just a motorcycle club and bar owners. I'd give the book 4.8 stars and hope that maybe Ryder (the resident computer guru)is up next.

Josh founded the Sentinels because he was tired of scumbags cheating the system, like the guy who murdered his sister. Now a reporter in nosing around an may soon be able to expose the club. Sparks are flying between Josh and Ashley but will she keep his and the club’s secret? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, action and intense chemistry. Entertaining and emotional read. I liked it.

Sentinel's Kiss is the second novel in Jamie K. Schmidt's Sentinals of Babylon series, and the follow-up to Necessary Evil, which I've previously read and reviewed. Although I believe this novel works fine as a standalone, having a bit of background certainly helped. I liked it a bit better than it's predecessor, and I give this novel a 3.5-star rating.

This installment features Josh (Sentinal) Lehman, one of the SOBs (Sentinels of Babylon), he's an ex-military sniper, sexy as hell tattooed biker, and womanizer. The one woman who seems to have managed to put a chink in his armor is Ashley Carver, a television reporter. Two years earlier, he and Ashley had a hot and fast sexual encounter after the funeral of Sarah, Josh's older sister, who, along with the fetus she carried, was murdered. Josh believes that the murderer was Stan--Sarah's abusive husband, but there was no concrete evidence against him, and shortly after her death, Stan disappeared.

Because Josh wanted retribution for Sarah's death, he and his friends started a motorcycle club of sorts, but this is not your typical MC romance, and this is not your typical MC club either. Josh is a former military sniper, as is Ryder, the lone female member of the club, and they've got a former police officer and former prison warden rounding out the membership. The SOBs, under the guise of running a bar, the Blue Line, take direction from a faceless voice, known only as The Judge, who is the one who decides whom they exact vengeance upon and when.

Two years after Sarah's murder, Josh is still trying to prove that his former brother-in-law is a murderer, and Ashley is doing a follow-up story on Sarah's murder and plans to interview both Josh and Stan. In the past two years, several other pregnant women have met their deaths in a similar fashion--been bound, stuffed into the trunk of a car and the car has ended up under a large body of water. There's certainly no shortage of suspects, especially when Ashley's and Ryder's research turn up the fact that the other three murders have more than one thing in common, the husband's of these murdered women all belong to the same hunt club and were all pregnant at the time of their murders, which is more than a little coincidental, and since the hunt club has over 500 members, the SOBs and Ashley have their work cut out for them.

As the case heats up, so too does the hot and heavy relationship between Ashley and Josh--and the sex between these two is hot, hard and explicit. She keeps digging for the truth, and Josh can't be completely honest with her about the club or their activities, most of which are not within the letter of the law. While Josh and the SOBs are trained to protect themselves, Ashley is not, and with her digging into these crimes, she inadvertently also becomes a target. Additionally, she comes from a very well-to-do, upper crust family, has been an adrenaline junkie for years, and her father has a bad heart, so that introducing Josh to her family is highly problematic. Additionally, her brother is a well-known and highly regarded journalist, and also has a bit of a superiority complex.

There are additional subplots in this novel which add background and interest, as well as backstories on the primary characters which give the reader a better understanding of what motivates them, which this reader truly appreciated. What didn't thrill me was the constant need for these two to have risky public sexual encounters--one or two occasions would have been more than enough for me--and as their relationship grows more serious, some tenderness between them was, I believe, warranted.

This was a a fast yet complex read, and an interesting and very different take on the typical MC romance. It worked as a romance and it worked equally well as a mystery and a thriller. I plan to continue to follow this series, to see what Ms. Schmidt has in store for the other main characters we've met.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Sentinel's Kiss is the second book in this military romance series, and I must say that the MM/F of the Sentinels of Babylon are fierce, loyal and super sexy group of individuals featuring Sentinel/Josh one of the founders of this club.

Sentinel/Josh is a bad boy at heart but loyal to his childhood friends who make up this group of vigilantes who right the wrongs that the legal system fails. Sentinel is tormented by his sister's murder and is on a mission to get her husband who he feels killed her. Josh is this larger than life, sexy tattooed bad boy and is as a trained killer from his time in the service. Josh is loyal to his friends and his character has a soft side as he spends time comforting AIDS babies at the hospital every night as a promise to his sister. The interaction between Josh and Ashley first took place two years ago when Ashley working as a reporter, was covering his sister's murder ends up consoling him at her funeral. The chemistry between these two was raw, explosive and full of steamy moments and will set the scene for years later. Ashley is this fiery beautiful young woman who is an adrenaline junky due to the lost from her past that still haunts her but her one night with Josh is one that she never could forget. Now these two will be thrown together as she is trying to get a story on the women who are being killed and wants to interview Josh's ex-brother-in law about his wife's murder as all of this ties into the Hunting Lodge he is a member of. When Josh sees her talking to Stan, these two will begin a affair that is full blown sex but with witty moments thrown in with their sexual adventures. The more time these two are together, Ashley opens up to Josh and tells him about her past, now Josh has to convince her that he wants her not only for sex but as a partner. Josh's friends don't trust her at first as they have a job do to for the Judge and they don't want Ashley who is a talented, nosy reporter to get in their way but Josh informs them that she can be trusted and that she is his. Danger and threats are all around them as Ashley and Josh piece together the group that is involved with the murder of these women. Will Ashley be the next victim? Will Josh and his friends get to Ashley in time? Will Ashley once she learns the truth about Josh's involvement in the SOB's leave him? With all of the twist and turns in his story you will be caught up in the suspense as a vigilante is caught and the real killer of Josh's sister is exposed. You will be on edge throughout this thrilling, sexy romance story. Can't wait for the next book to be release. Well done Jamie as you have a way of pulling your readers into this sexy, edgy Military romance series that is full of thrills and suspense.

I don't tend to like MC types stories, but I like this series. It definitely doesn't focus heavily on the MC part, and really there are only four of them, so it's just not typical. I think there is enough here that MC fans would like it, but not so much that it would turn off other suspense fans. The cover, by the way, was spectacular.

As for the story, Ashley is a reporter who had a brief hot hookup with Sentinel after the funeral of his sister who was murdered. Though neither forgot the other, they never tried to contact each other again until Sentinel spots Ashley interviewing his former brother in law for a two year follow up on his sister's murder. Since he believes the man to be the murder, he wants to keep Ashley far away from him until he can make sure the man is never a problem again...ever. In no time, Ashley and Sentinel are happily back to exploring their chemistry, but Sentinel knows he can't let her in on who he really is and what he and his friends do in the name of justice. He knows what he does is illegal, but he believes in the rightness of it and has no desire to stop. Ashley could destroy the whole organization if she found out, but she is too busy investigating other murders which mimic how Sentinel's sister was killed. He inserts himself in the investigation both to keep her safe and to ensure he doesn't take out the wrong man.

At this point, I feel the need to say that the description of the story didn't really match up with the actual story. The story was great regardless, but the description needs some work. It implies that Ashley was investigating the club and Sentinel needed to stop her. In reality, they were never the focus of her investigation even after she was given information about them from a police source. She didn't believe it and did nothing to really research it. She and Sentinel were working together to find the killer. The description also says there were multiple attempts on her life, but she was in no danger until the very end. This is probably a small detail to most people, but I find it a little frustrating to expect one thing and get something else. Like I said though, I really did enjoy the story. I like a bad guy who hides a good heart. Sentinel really is bad, but his motives are good. Ashley is also a study in opposites. She is this professional reporter, but she has a wild side that just won't quit. They are like gasoline to each other's flame making this a super sexy adrenaline laced read.

I received a free ARC copy in exchange for my honest review. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.

Sentinels Kiss by Jamie K. Schmidt, book 2 in the Sons Of Babylon series does not disappoint. Sentinel (Josh) was a decorated member of special forces before joining his old friend Evil in the bar The Blue Line and in the Sons of Babylon motorcycle club (SOB). Ashley is a reporter and adrenaline junkie who met Josh two years ago when she wanted to interview him about his sister's murder. She is on a destructive path because of two tragic events in her past. Sentinel and Ashley are both struggling with the loss of those they loved.

Sentinel along with other members of the SOBs, Warden, Ryder and to a lesser degree Evil work for The Judge bringing justice to those who slip through the cracks of the system. Sentinel has caught back up with Stan his sister's husband who he thinks is involved in her death. He plans to take care of him.

Ashley brings to his notice the fact that there have been three other women killed in a similar manner. Now Sentinel must dig back into the case and see if Stan is really guilty.

The story has several mysteries ongoing throughout the plot. The pace kept me turning the page. The book does have violence, kidnapping, murder and other triggers so it is not for the faint of heart. Sentinel and Ashley have incredible chemistry but yet can be so sweet together. Sentinel can be a "marshmallow" for example he's a cuddler for babies in need an the NICU. He can also shutdown and be ruthless when needed. Jamie K. Schmidt has written a compelling series of a group that seek out justice for those who didn't get in in the courts. They go after the baddest of bad people while trying to their their lives. Josh and Ashley do find their happiness together.

“Sentinel’s Kiss” brings the shady business of vigilante justice into the spotlight, combining it with an MC storyline—which I think is meant to give a harder, dirtier edge to the bad boys many readers love to see falling on their knees.

But it’s unfortunately not one for me, even though I liked the idea that vigilante justice spills way out of the legal boundaries and how it can be used as an excuse to fulfil personal vendettas that’s been kind of implied here, or in this case, fuel a man’s need for revenge. But while this isn’t quite heart-pounding action of black ops, I’d expected to see more cloak-and-dagger meetings with the mysterious boss who doles out their orders yet didn’t.

Above all, I couldn’t quite connect with Sentinel and Ashley, who seemed to be using each other for sex and as bandages for their own issues that have clearly been laid out in the story. There’re no shortage of sex scenes as a result, which simply seems to prove my point—but sex, obviously, never been a problem for either of them—but it didn’t change what I felt was a shallow relationship that didn’t go beyond both characters’ inability to function without their bits bumping and humping. In fact, their supposed important conversations couldn’t take place without it and the good sex also seemed to be a reason for why they should go beyond casual fuckmates…it’s what both Sentinel and Ashley fall back on, which makes me think this will function better as erotica than romantic suspense. The rushed ending felt instead, like a hurried need to give an unlikely couple a HEA but as someone who couldn’t really buy into the pairing, I found myself rather indifferent to it all.

Josh Lehman is a member of the Sentinels of Babylon. He became a member because he was tired of watching scumbags cheat the system. His sister was recently murdered and he has his eyes on his brother in law. Josh must show some patience and wait until the time is right so he cannot be linked to his murder.

Ashley Carver is a reporter and is wanting to do a follow up story on an unsolved murder. She must get in close with the husband of the deceased and the brother. Ashley knows Josh because the last time that she seen him they were in the backseat of his car after his sister’s funeral.

Josh finally found where his sister’s husband has been hiding out for the past two years. Keeping an eye on him and waiting until the right time to make his move is interrupted by the beautiful Ashley trying to get a story. However, she brings him new information that might just stop him from going after the husband. All bets are off when Ashley is the one that ends up in danger.

Josh and Ashley have a chemistry that they know will have them under the sheets if they get to close together. Josh is counting on that.

This is the second book in the Sentinels of Babylon series. These are a good read if you like the idea of vigilantes cleaning up the streets after the system lets the bad guys go free. Someone must do the dirty work, right?

This is the second book in the Sentinels of Babylon series. This one features reporter, Ashley and vigilant, Sentinel who are thrown together while she investigates his sister's murder. I really loved them together and the sex was explosive. Although a series you could read this book as a stand alone and still get the gist of their relationship with the other members of the club that was forged in childhood and kept together to impart justice as ordered by 'The Judge". Ashley is a thrill seeker who is trying to run from a heartbreaking past by engaging in dangerous situations. Sentinel is convinced his sister was murdered by her husband and will do anything to avenge her This was a very good continuation of the series. Can't wait to read Ryder's and Munson book. I liked the storyline and the way that the characters in the first book are seen in this story. I like the interaction between Ashley and Sentinel. I love that he shows his vulnerability by being a 'baby cuddler' for AIDS babies. I just like the whole series. Highly recommend.

A wild MC justice ride
Sentinel’s Kiss (Sons of Babylon Book 2) by Jamie K. Schmidt is a very well written and exciting MC romance. Sentinel (Josh) and Ashley are much alike as adrenaline junkies of sorts and while Ashley is trying to tame that part of her, the chemistry she experiences with Josh gives her that feeling she is seeking. While the same in some ways, they differ greatly in others. Even though they both tend to think “it” can’t ever work, they both find themselves compelled to try. These two flawed characters need each other more than they realize at first and it is so satisfying when Josh and Ashley let their guards down enough to figure that out.
While Josh and Ashley are compelled to one another, I was compelled to read their story! The plot is rife with vigilante justice, investigative journalism, finding a serial killer as well as the combustible chemistry and tension.
Overall, an exciting and well written MC romance that will keep you on your toes and steal your breath. Best of all, these two get their HEA.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Josh, Sentinel, Lehman is a decorated war hero but that means nothing because he was not able to save his sister when she was murdered. Ashley Carver is an investigative reporter and they hooked up at his sister's funeral and now 2 years later she is back and so is Stan, the brother-in-law who disappeared. So many twists and turns and fast paced wildness I could not turn the pages fast enough. Josh and Ashley both have demons they but they bring out the best in each other. There are secrets and lies and other murders and the SOBs are still being given jobs by the judge and the IA thorn from the first book is still breathing down everyone's neck.

This one could be read as a standalone but I enjoyed the first one just as much as this one.

Sexy time takes place anytime and any place. And that seems to be the core of Sentinel and Ashley relationship, sex. The riskier the better.
I also can't help questioning her ethics as a reporter since she had sex with Sentinel in the backseat of his Jeep right after his murdered sisters funeral. Who does that? A reporter and self proclaimed womanizer do.
Despite the ending of this book I really don't see how they stay together as their relationship is based on risky sex.
And the revenge that drives Sentinel was a let down in the end, at least for me.
I very much enjoyed the action , they are a group of MC vigilantes after all. I do look forward to the next book and how the rest of this tight knit grip of friends lives play out.

This is the secod book in the Sentinel's of Babylon series but can be read as a stand alone.

The story was interesting and I was held captivated throughout. There was plenty of action and I thought it flowed really well. The characters were likebale in themselves and there was plenty of steam between them but I would have liked a bit more depth to their relationship; I struggled to connect to them on any emotional level.

All in all, I have to say this was a step up from the first book and I enjoyed it.

Josh Lehman (Sentinel) is one character I would not want to run across at night. Unless he was mine, in which case "yes please". Fierce, stubborn and deadly, he has few morals other than loyalty to his family and those he calls friends. The murder of his sister and the lack of progress in finding and prosecuting her killer has left him angry and bitter. And with the return of the sexy reporter Ashley, all of the unanswered questions are brought back into the spotlight. Will the new focus on similar murders lead to a resolution? Will Ashley's return to his life and bed cause him to rethink some of his emotional attachments?

Netgalley has given me the unique opportunity of reading this series.

This was a fast-paced story, full of mystery and romance.
I really felt for Sentinel whose sister was murderer, you could really see he had been suffering for two years.
The cops hadn't been able to find the perpetrator so he took matters into his own hands, and the SOB's were his back-up.

Ashley wasn't a great character, not awful but not great. I get she's a reporter and it's her job but I didn't much like the scene outside the precinct when Ryder is questioned.

An excellent MC romance filled with action, crime, danger, intrigue, betrayal, MC clubs, hot bad boy/girl alpha vigilantes, a little romance, hot steamy sexy scenes, love and a happy ever after.

Very well written, diverse individual characters with amazingly strong chemistry and a high octane thrilling storyline.

Jamie K. Schmidt has produced another fantastic book in this standalone MC Romance series and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
