Hers To Call
Simon Jacobs, alpha of Clarke County spent his days on his ranch tending to his animals walking on four legs and keeping the ones on two legs out of trouble and off the government’s radar. One glance at Calita and he knew she was his, convincing her would be the hard part.
Calita Wright moved to Bear Ridge Georgia to escape an abusive relationship. She hoped the shifter run town would give her space and time to heal. The one thing she was not looking for was a relationship, but one glance from Simon had her reconsidering.
Simon’s offer to her was more than tempting, sex with no strings, granting her complete control. As Simon works to convince Calita that she belongs to him, there is someone working twice as hard to drive her out of his arms and out of town.

It was a mediocre short read. Never read a shifter romance about bears. So that was new for me and really interesting. The bears alltogether as a clan were kind of sweet.
The book was easy to read, I kind of liked the writing style, but it took me a while to finish because the first half was boring. Gladly, the second half got a bit better thanks to the plotline about someone wanting to drive the female main character Calita out of town. Sadly though, I instantly knew who was behind it. So no big surprises for me.
Towards the end of the story it drove me mad how dumb everyone was because they didn't figure out who the offender was. It was blatantly obvious. At least they should have worried about someone missing from their clan who was invovled in Calita being especially Calita herself??? Well I guess it fit her character because Calita was acting a bit dumb other times as well which was annoying tbh. And Simon, the male main character, was getting on my nerves, too. How he was promising to give Calita time and space but then never did, wtf.
I liked the two main charcters and their personalites but they were also getting on my nerves with their behaviour. lol
The romance overall wasn't working well for me. I kinda get it with Simon being the shifter and finding his mate - so it is "fate" and instant love. But I did not get how Calita so easily fell for him. There was just not enough progress and time elapsing with them getting to know each other.
I would have liked there to be less sex scenes. They all felt kind of short and rushed. Kinda bland. Instead I think this would have worked better with only one or two extended / longer lasting sex scenes showing more intimacy with foreplay, aftercare and cuddling.

Bears!
Calita’s past is complicated, but she finds solace in Bear Ridge. Simon has found his mate in Calita, but she doesn’t know it yet. Can Calita get past her fears and work it out with Simon?
This romance is on the cozier side, in my opinion, although it does have a bit of suspense. Ultimately Simon had to have patience, and Calita needed to be willing to try. It was a good read once I was ready to read it.
If you like bear shifters, stories about mixed shifter and human towns, and people finding happiness after tragedy, then this is for you.

Stories that have characters who aren't liner in their story arc and don't arrive at the HEA in an expected manner. There are meanders and bumps as are the teething highs and I loved Calita and Simon. He's patient with her and she was a fighter. With turns and tumbles around her but she had herself, friends family and alpha partner with a clan willing to surround her with love and protect and I enjoyed it.

2.5 stars is fair. It was a long drawn out story for me. There were some good parts, but I felt there were many, many missed opportunities in the story. The Miranda angle was incomplete. Why did Tessa agree to help Becca? The Committee made no sense. Although I really did like Simon, I really didn’t feel he was an Alpha. This is my first read from this author. I may try another book, but not from this series.

3.5 stars. Bear shifter fated mates. This was entertaining and I read it one sitting. I would like to read more from this author.. Things fell apart a bit at the end and I did not like cliched way that one of the plots resolved.

Patient Simon
Simon has to be the 2nd most patient shifter behind Trey from the Georgia Arcana Series. He knew Cali had been through something that required a gentle hand. He was an utter simp and I loved it, but when the Alpha came out…whew. I have to say, I didn’t care for the ex-wife direction of the story at first but it all made sense in the end. Happy Reading Y’all!💋

Good shiffer romance
This was a good human/shifter romance; it had all the usual plot points. Alpha shifter recognizes his mate, takes his time getting near her, earns her trust, and completes their mating. There is an outside threat (well, not really outside) that is handled and everyone lives (relatively) HEA. Heat level is medium with a few descriptive scenes. Not a very long read, just over 200 pages.

A great read!
I enjoyed this book very much! What a wonderful romance between a bear shifter and a traumatized woman.
Calita had a relationship with a man who, at the end of their relationship, seriously abused her and left her signed for life. She found peace in the town of Bear Ridge.
The alpha of the town, Simon, saw her and knew right away that he was his mate. He also saw the fear in her eyes and the caution with which she faces everyone. He knows he needs to calmly build a relationship to prevent him from driving her away. When he tells her that he is interested and that she is in charge of their relationship, Calita slowly opens up to him. In the back of her mind her fear remains as to whether her ex will find her. An accumulation of events in which Calita appears to be the target of attacks on her life caused Simon to take her to his ranch to protect her. But she still doesn't seem to be safe.
With all the action described in the story, the romance of Simon and Calita and the building of mutual trust are still central.
A book that reads easily, has a lot of action, has unexpected twists, steamy love scenes and luckily an HEA

I enjoyed this shifter romance. The storyline is a good one with danger, jealousy, and romance involved. The characters are well developed and likable.
Will Calita stay with Simon or will she allow herself to be driven out of town?

This book kept me swiping left on my kindle. I loved the character's chemistry and steamy interactions. Calita was just trying to heal and move forward, but she had a strength to her. And Simon giving her what she needed was so good.
