I read this for a directed reading class. It was interesting. My professor put together this book, compiling various articles on and about living history. Some of the articles are wordy, some critical of living history, and some overly glowing with praise about living history. I think it provides an interesting, more rounded view of the world of living history. The only sad thing about this, is that it is "Volume 1" with no forth coming 2nd volume. I think it is really needed, as many of the museums and organizations mentioned have evolved greatly since this book was compiled.

Very useful in studying the origins and nature of living history interpretation as a form of Museum program.
