About the author

A comic book writer and erstwhile artist. He has won critical acclaim (including five Eisner Awards) and is one of the most successful writers working in mainstream comics. For over eight years Bendis’s books have consistently sat in the top five best sellers on the nationwide comic and graphic novel sales charts.

Though he started as a writer and artist of independent noir fiction series, he shot to stardom as a writer of Marvel Comics' superhero books, particularly Ultimate Spider-Man.

Bendis first entered the comic world with the "Jinx" line of crime comics in 1995. This line has spawned the graphic novels Goldfish, Fire, Jinx, Torso (with Marc Andreyko), and Total Sell Out. Bendis is writing the film version of Jinx for Universal Pictures with Oscar-winner Charlize Theron attached to star and produce.

Bendis’s other projects include the Harvey, Eisner, and Eagle Award-nominated Powers (with Michael Avon Oeming) originally from Image Comics, now published by Marvel's new creator-owned imprint Icon Comics, and the Hollywood tell-all Fortune and Glory from Oni Press, both of which received an "A" from Entertainment Weekly.

Bendis is one of the premiere architects of Marvel's "Ultimate" line: comics specifically created for the new generation of comic readers. He has written every issue of Ultimate Spider-Man since its best-selling launch, and has also written for Ultimate Fantastic Four and Ultimate X-Men, as well as every issue of Ultimate Marvel Team-Up, Ultimate Origin and Ultimate Six.

Brian is currently helming a renaissance for Marvel’s AVENGERS franchise by writing both New Avengers and Mighty Avengers along with the successful ‘event’ projects House Of M, Secret War, and this summer’s Secret Invasion.

He has also previously done work on Daredevil, Alias, and The Pulse.

Miles Morales me cae bastante bien, me resulta simpático (no tanto como el gran Peter Parker, pero es un personaje querible e interesante). Este tomo nos cuenta un poco como le resultan las cosas a Miles cuando descubre que el Green Goblin anda dando vueltas por ahí nuevamente, la aparente resurrección de Peter (igual este es el universo Ultimate, para los no enterados..) y un poco de historia pasada de su propio padre que resulta muy entretenida y algo dramática.

Un tomo entretenido que se deja leer y disfrutar. Termina dando el pie para el gran evento marveliano "Secret Wars", que voy a tener que leer para no quedarme atrás y seguir alguna que otra serie que me interese desde el primer número. Posiblemente siga las aventuras de Miles porque este tomo te deja con ganas de leer más peripecias del adolescente en cuestión.

man… this was disappointing. flat / uninteresting female characters that were only there for entertainment. miles himself was annoying and the story was all over the place. plus, they ruined kate bishop’s character. from hilarious independent and brave woman they turned her into a weeping nazi mess. nah

I really wanted to like this because I'm a huge fan of Into the Spider-Verse and the character of Spider-Man in general. Sadly though, in a book titled 'Miles Morales,' I could not care less about him as a character. He was so two-dimensional it was unbelievable. He has no character motivations and basically just reads like a 'black Peter Parker.' This isn't even something they try to hide in the 'Behind The Scenes' section at the end of the book. Bendis says that his starting point for the character was his racial identity. I guess the writer thought this would be all we cared about. The artwork looked okay, and it at least attempted a story, albeit a simple one, but it is very little beyond this. Just don't bother, and watch Into the Spider-Verse instead.

Aquí se juntan los 12 números del segundo volumen de Miles Morales como Spider-Man. Comienza bien con unos ladrones que parecen hombres-araña, luego se olvida de ellos y pasa al regreso de Norman Osborn y otra resurrección. Luego descubrimos el pasado del padre de Miles y finalmente de la nada aparece el Doctor Doom y Hydra y capturan a Miles y Spider-Woman (que acá es Black Widow) y todos los otros jóvenes héroes se juntan para rescatarlos pero cuando llegan Miles los venció a todos. Él solo... Todo el final es completamente anticlimático y el final es una splash-page de los héroes viendo otra Tierra en el cielo. Tiene toda la pinta de que la colección se cerró a las apuradas para llegar justo a las Secret Wars. Todo lo de Miles parece así: se comienza una historia aparentemente interesante y luego se acaba abruptamente. Es como si nunca se le diera la oportunidad a Miles Morales de conseguir una entidad propia. Le faltan retos más difíciles, algún villano con más enjundia emocional, más campo para desarrollarse. Espero que en su carrera en el Nuevo Universo Marvel lo traten mejor.

Kniha "Nejmocnější hrdinové Marvelu 79: Miles Morales" nepřináší nijak převratný příběh, ale je to příběh, který by fanoušky Spider-Mana mohl bavit. Příběh o tom, jak se setkávají dva různá Spider-Manové, jak si něco vyříkají a přitom e postarají o jednu světovou hrozbu. A sem tam je to navíc i sranda. Asi by se ani nic jiného nedalo čekat. Stačí to.
