Nolan Finds His Match In Linnea, Who Pushes Him To His Limits! Their Story Is The Darkest Of The Series.
This is the fourth and final book in a series of standalones about the King brothers. Book one, Throw Down, is Peyton King and Erin Nash’s story. Titus King and Maya Riordan‘s story is told in book two, Bringing it Home (originally titled Game Theory). In Hot Shot, book three, Phoenix King and Heather’s story is told. Here the youngest King, Nolan, gets his HEA with Linnea Marsden.
From Throw Down, book one:
Stone King is a major league coach and sports legend. He is the father of four college-aged sons, all talented college athletes in their respective sports. Stone has been a strict father, demanding the best in sports and good academics. He isn’t easy to get along with and is impossible to please, as evidenced by his five divorces. He never gave up on the institution of marriage, though, which keeps him much too busy to be actively involved in his sons' lives. He is currently engaged to Alissa. The boys all attend Crestfall and are well known on campus for their athletics, partying, and good looks, as well as the various skills and assets that the co-eds eagerly gossip about. Their broody alpha personas are all the rage.
Peyton King is in his final year. He is the quarterback for the Crestfall Thunder. Titus and Phoenix, juniors, are fraternal twins. They have an unusual relationship, often fighting over women. Titus plays baseball and is known for his speed. The cocky jokester of the family has a sensitive side, too. Phoenix plays basketball for his dad’s sake but doesn't care for it. He has offers to play professionally, but he has put them off. Nolan, the baby of the family, is a sophomore. The introspective hockey player comes to life once he gets on the ice, but otherwise he is the quietest of the group and has a big heart. He hasn't slept his way thru Crestfall like his brothers, either. His ADHD makes him a little quirky, easily distracted.
From Bringing it Home, book two:
As the book opens, it is roughly one and a half years from the opening of book one. Stone King is now married to Alissa. It appears to be February of the last semester of the senior year of college at Crestfall for the twins, Titus and Phoenix, which makes it Nolan’s junior year. Baseball season is just beginning. Peyton and Erin had an engagement party several months ago, and according to their epilogue, Peyton did not get signed with the NFL right out of college. It appears that they are still around and married by now, either living together nearby or in the home with his brothers (it is unclear).
Titus King, Crestfall’s star baseball player, plans to live a bachelor’s life. But Titus is not limited to his talent on the field and his reputation in the bedroom. It was in junior high school that he fell in love with math, which he now studies in college. Titus has a temporary set-back, however, when he awakes in the hospital one day. It turns out that he has been in a coma for weeks. And moreover, he has amnesia and cannot recall most of the last three or four months leading up to his hospitalization. He struggles with some things – including math. Alyssa arranges a math tutor to help him get up to speed.
From Hot Shot, book three:
This story overlaps with Titus’s story in Bringing it Home. More precisely, Phoenix’s story begins sometime after Titus’s story begins – so it opens sometimes in the early spring, probably March. It also ends before Titus’s story ends (epilogues aside). The brothers largely keep to themselves during both stories, so although they occur simultaneously, the events are entirely different. As this book opens, Titus still has a math tutor (Maya).
Phoenix King, a senior at Crestfall, is a star basketball player. The NBA has extended multiple offers that are his for the taking. Much to his agent’s chagrin, Phoenix is unwilling to make a decision about his future. He hasn’t enjoyed the game for quite some time, and has even grown to despise it. He knows he wants to do something different – but hasn’t a clue what that might be. He is under pressure to please his father, to please the fans, to go on to play professionally like Peyton and Titus are about to do – like Nolan will likely do, and to do well by the King name. He doesn’t know how to say no, but he also cannot say yes.
In this book:
This book opens during the following academic year at Crestfall, likely in the spring semester.
Nolan King, the youngest King brother, is finally in his senior year at Crestfall and is ready to get out of there. Hockey is his chosen sport, and the NHL recruiters are already pressuring his agent for him to sign on for next year. He is different than his three older brothers who had slept their way through the co-ed population at Crestfall. The bad boy reputation follows them all, but shy Nolan largely inherited the rep rather than earning it the hard way. He has his one night stands on occasion, but what he really wants is a lasting relationship, not unlike what his parents had before his mom died. He has had a few relationships, nothing lasting, but is not giving up on the dream.
Linnea Marsden, star basketball player in her senior year at Crestfall, has never been to a college party before. She went to Crestfall because it is one of the best sports academies and she hasn’t taken the opportunity for granted, choosing to focus her efforts on her sport and academics. Though naturally pretty, some might call her a tomboy. It is her aggressive and straightforward attitude that likely puts most guys on guard. She is smart, funny, super competitive, and isn’t afraid to go for what she wants. So when she attends her first college party – an Anything but Clothes party – she doesn’t shy away from approaching the mysterious and broody King brother and asking him to leave with her.
Nolan is thrown off his game when the tall mystery girl addresses him. He feels like he should know her already, and finds himself uncharacteristically fumbling with his words. He doesn’t know up from down, but he cannot refuse when she asks him to spend the night with her. After their night together, Linnea is surprised to find that Nolan isn’t running for the hills. She assumes that once he gets a sense of her personality he will make his way out the door, but Nolan surprises her again when he says he wants to try to have a relationship with her. He is sweet and sensitive, yet comes alive on the ice and in a challenge – when his competitive nature takes charge. Linnea is different from any other girl Nol has met, and something tells him that she is the one he is looking for. Nolan and Linnea give a relationship together a try, but her past catches up to her and causes complications. Her father, Rex Marsden, is trying to come back into her life, but that can only mean trouble.
Nolan and Linnea’s story is the darkest of the Stone brother stories. Although there is a laugh or two, this story will bring tears to your eyes, some of which are happy tears – and not only due to Nolan and Linnea. The couple earns their happy ending, and the family collectively earns theirs as well.
There are wonderful family moments in this story that bring Stone King and his four sons together. Titus and Maya are away as he is playing his first year of professional baseball, but he does make an appearance. Peyton and Erin are in the story. Peyton should have already been away to play his first year of pro football, but it seems that he is back at the mansion shared by the King brothers and in the off-season (which puts this in spring semester). Phoenix and Heather also live in the mansion with Nolan. Stone and Alissa remain married despite the odds. Seeing the family pull together is a wonderful way to end the series.
Nolan finds his match in Linnea, who pushes him to his limits. The story is nicely written. The plot is somewhat complex given the length. The characters are nicely developed. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Nolan and Linnea. I rate this book four stars.
I received an advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Teagan most definitely saved the best for last. Nolan King as always been somewhat of an enigma in the King family. Quiet, not in a hurry to live up to the "King" name like the rest of his brothers. He is a god on the ice and given that this is his senior year, he's yearning for something more.. enter stage left Linnea. She is very different that the rest of the girls on campus and is a bit of a situation. Her father is trying to force her into an arranged marriage to secure a merger. Trust me, the lengths this man will go through to try to secure this marriage is not going to garner him Father of the Year... But he's never gone up against a King before!
I don't want to give much more away, cause you are NOT going to want to miss this hot, sexy rollercoaster of a ride! I was very sad to see this series end and I will miss the King family and all their shenanigans. Teagan does a great job at wrapping up all of the King brothers stories and givinig us a glimpse into the future... I've asked Teagan if a novella could be in the future... maybe letting us know what's been going on with the King brothers... I'm hopeful that maybe she'll keep it in mind :)
Wonderful! I didn't think I was going to get into this one at first. As I kept reading I felt more in love with both character as the story went along.
Nolan, the last of the King brother's to find his forever love. Nolan isn't like his brother's he's more quiet and shy doesn't sleep around Crestfall. Linnea, is the one who wins Nolans heart, she outgoing and an all star on the basketball court. It's Linnea's father who finally comes back in her life who is messing things up for not only her but for Nolan as well. After the second kidnapping attempt Linnea should have gotten authorities involved. Also when Nolan is attached in the tunnel, I didn't understand why something wasn't done about Rex and his goons. But Nolan and Linnea survive ever attempt Rex and his goons throw at them.
In the epilogue I was so happy to see we get a glimpse at what is happening to all the King Brother's and their families. I burst out laughing at the mention of Cayden Beckett, I am so happy when authors cross character over. I only wish all the King brother's and their families could be together, they seem like a very close family even if they are miles apart!
Talk about saving the best for last. Nolan, yes please and thank you!
Nolan, the ice hockey god, is the quiet one among the King brothers. The least likely to bed every female at Crestfall. Then he comes across a brazen, go for what you want, hottie at a party and as they say, the rest is history.
Linnea is a phenom on the basketball court. She decides to attend a party where she meets Nolan King and well, who wouldn't want to bed that?
These two were smitten with each other and things were going great until Linnea's estranged father shows his face and tries to force Linnea into an arranged marriage. HA! He obviously doesn't know his daughter, at all! And when Nolan gets wind of what is happening, well, let's just say, you don't mess with the King boys.
This was such a fantastic end to this series. I loved the whole family coming together at the end with their offspring. Boy have those King boys come a long way since those college days.
I can't wait to see what Teagan comes up with next.
What's not to love about Linnea and Nolan. She's the queen of the basketball court and he's the king on ice. Her feisty, witty manner speaks to the strong and talented person she is. Nolan is the King brother who shows more of a sweet side (don't tell him that) with the strength of a protector on the outside. He's not brazen like his brothers and has a confidence about him that makes him so special. Linnea isn't a shy wallflower and is assertive in the most positive way with Nolan, unusually refreshing. Their love is potent and, when her father appears out of the murky past, ready to give her away in an arranged marriage, Nolan becomes the man she needs and loves. Teagan Kade writes such wonderfully vivid stories and her characters are multi-dimensionally alive!
Fighting For Their Love - Nolan and Linnea got together with the intension of a short one night fling, but they quickly realised they were meant for greatness together. The dramatic events plaguing their lives, combined with the intense emotions and nerve wracking tensions, kept increasing the beats of my heart with each page turn. I just couldn’t stop reading once I started and I guarantee that you will definitely be captivated with the story too. This final book in the King Series, is action packed, steamy, mind blowing and is just as intriguing as the other books.
I received a copy of this ARC and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Penalty Box was absolutely Perfect! Ah! The last King brother, Nolan. A flower dress and a towel is how their meet cute starts and Linnea went after what she wanted. Nolan and Linnea's story will keep you on your toes. You will fall in love with these characters and become invested in their lives. They have this connection that they just can't deny. I loved how Nolan and the King brothers were there for Linnea. I loved the banter, drama and steamy passion. I hated Rex! Nolan and Linnea's story is one I will not forget! This was entertaining, sweet, fun, sexy and an endearing romance all rolled into one fantastic story.
This is the final instalment of the Kings brothers’ series, and this story is a fitting conclusion. This is Nolan and Linnea’s story. Nolan is the quiet brother and is a star hockey player, while Linnea is a basketball player. These two meets at a party and are instantly attracted to each other. When Linnea’s estranged father shows up in her life, he is trying to force an arranged marriage onto her. What will Nolan so when he finds out? This is a well written story which is emotional, fun, entertaining, and filled with witty banter, drama, passion, and is a sweet and steamy little gem of a story. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend for all.
I gave The King Brothers each 4 or 5 stars, but The Penalty Box was my favorite. It starts with heat, it kept me turning the pages with suspense. I loved it!!! I found the story full of suspense, action and steam. I loved Nolan he is smart, protective, loyal and knows when to let Linnea take charge. I loved the brothers and their ribbing of each other, but most of all the way they had Nolan's back. I loved Linnea she is smart, strong and stands up for herself. In my opinion this was a great conclusion to The King Brothers Series. Teagan Kade did a great job of tying everything up. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader's copy.
This was a wonderful last book in the King Brother's series. I really enjoyed the fact that Nolan was different than his brothers when it came to being the big man on campus. He was a little quieter than the other three and even a little shy. Linnea was a woman who knows what she wants. It was such a treat seeing her as more of the pursuer than Nolan. In the other books it was definitely the men who pursued the women. Nolan like his brothers once bitten by love were all in. I loved how they worked as a team and stayed strong against all her father threw at them. A fitting end to a great series. Loved the HEA!
OMG! Linnea is totally something else! She cracked me up all the time and her bratty banter was really hilarious! And Nolan? He’s an absolute sweetheart ... hard and tough on the outside, but a softie on the inside. A perfect gentleman, selfless, caring and soooo sexy! Just swoon-worthy!
The plot though is anything but soft or tame. It’s fast-paced, to say the least. I repeatedly had the feeling of being hit with a battering ram or a baseball bat. It is suspenseful to a fault and kept me on the edge of my seat. A real page-turner and the worthy conclusion to the King Brother Series.
Nolan is the last of the King brothers that has not met his match. I am surprised Nolan is so quiet and not a big womanizer like his brothers. Nolan meets his perfect match when he meets Linnea who is a great basketball player. It was fun watching the two test each other. Linnea’s father is a piece of work. It is hard to understand how a father could be like him. I was glad to see that Nolan and his brothers did all they could to protect Linnea. I will miss the King brothers. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
What an absolutely fantastic read! Teagan Kade really knocked this final King brother’s tale right out of the park. This book has everything you could hope for—and even more! We’re talking an amazing storyline; kick ass characters; plot twists and turns that keep your head spinning as you try to keep up; and finally...the most fantastic HEA! You absolutely must add this to your TBR list today—or better yet—grab a copy for yourself right now! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and thoroughly enjoyed it! Wow!) ❤️❤️
What an incredible end to this series. This book (the entire series) was really well written with each one having a unique storyline and the all the characters were really well developed. In this book Nolan has meant his match. Linnea is perfect for him. The story line with keep you guessing. This book will make you laugh those deep belly laugh and in the next second you need a fan you are so hot! I am going to miss the King brothers and I cannot wait to see what this author comes up with next. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
Nolan is good on the ice but not ready to live up to the family name like his brothers. When he puts his mind to something there is no stopping him and he wants Linnea. Linnea is strong and not like the others girls on campus. Her father wants to further his business with an arranged marriage for her. He won't give up and goes through unbelievable lengths to get what he wants. The story was intriguing and takes you on a rollercoaster ride with the characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I absolutely loved Nolan and Linnea's story. Linnea is pretty freaking awesome! She is a fantastic basketball player, strong, independent, knows what she wants and goes after it. She is fierce. Nolan is the "quiet one" of the brothers, he also knows what he wants and isn't willing to settle for less. I love how the two of them meet and he is intrigued right away. Their story has loads of steam, even with "taking things slow", humor, tons of drama, and the best glimpses of the rest of the series characters. I really didn't want this series to end but I will certainly go back for re-reads.
Nolan and Linnea..A love that only really begins when they are already married. And they are only because of Rex, Linnea's "producer"..the father, he didn't deserve the name. 🤨 Only Rex tries everything to get rid of Nolan, because Linnea should marry someone else to save his company. But he didn't count on the King family. A great ending to the books. With a lot of suffering, courage and a few tears 🥹 I took all 4 brothers to my heart ❤️ and I think it's great what they've made of their lives, especially now with Nolan 😍
Very good last opus of the series 4.5 I found the characters quite surprising because Nolan is posed, contrary to his reputation, and he meets Linnea, an exuberant young woman, at least at first contact. Their story is good because of the twists, the events that follow their meeting, and for the romance. It also makes it possible to find the previous characters of the series, in order to complete their life, their evolution. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Linnea was one aggressive gal!! The King dinner convo is riotous!! Lol! Linnea's dad was a selfish vile manipulative idiot. I liked Nolan's patience and integrity with Linnea. Linnea 's cell phone hiding place was unique!! Lol. Nolan's plan was ideal, and I loved his ingenuity. Chapter 23 dessimated me utterly and completely. I was sobbing. The second epilogue was a perfect wrap up for a great series, but I'll miss these guys.
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book and I absolutely loved it. It is the fourth and final book in The King Brothers series.
Well-written, fast-paced and packed with drama of drama, emotion and sizzle. Nolan meets his match in fiesty Linnea. She's perfect for him, fun loving, great at sports. Only problem is her crazy as hell father. Nolan and his brothers will do whatever it takes to protect her. Wonderful Story, great series.
Nolan is the last of the single King brothers. Linnea is a strong independent woman who keeps Nolan on his toes. Linnea's father has come back into her life, an unwanted drama. He wants her for a business deal and will stop at nothing to get his own way. She and Nolan are in danger. Both of them athletes they are planning their future together...will they make it? This was a fun entertaining read. I loved the epilogues with the glimpses into the future of the King family.
Plenty of action, humor, passion and banter for an entertaining read! Nolan is the last of the great Kings of Crestwell Academy, the brothers are known for their sport prowess, Nolan is cool on the ice. Linnea goes after what she wants, and she has her eyes set on Nolan. From cocky banter to a controlling father, to high action this book has it all!
Nolan King and Linnea know each other and spend an intense night together. They begin to spend more time together and get to know each other better. But when Linnea's father reappears wanting to force her to marry a stranger to secure merger for his company, Nolan will do everything to support her and rescue her when she needs it. Another great story of the King brothers. I loved all the stories and the characters. I highly recommend the reading.
Finally, we get the "quiet" King brothers book. Nolan doesn't sleep around or want to be the center of attention like his brothers. But, he is still a tough, sexy athlete. Linnea is very tough and also a great athlete. Their story has love, humor and danger. We also get to visit with all the King brothers again. This is bittersweet since it's the end of a fabulous series, but I still loved it.
Oh my! I loved this book. Nolan has his hands full with Linnea. They have instant and insane chemistry. This book has a little bit of everything drama, suspense, and spicy scenes. It’s well written with an amazing story plot. It’s a perfect book for to end this fantastic series. A must read. I volunteered to review a copy of this book for an honest review.
Oh I loved the final instalment in the king brothers series... gutted there won’t be anymore! But loved Nolan and Linnea’s story just as much as the rest of the boys! Great series and highly recommended
