When Kevin was assigned to Earth for his study abroad program, he was stoked. A whole year to kick back on the party planet. The problem? That year is 2020. In a collection of letters to his home world, this naive alien tourist details his day-by-day research of Earthlings in a crazy time. Can humans survive the ups and downs of 2020? Yes. But the question Can Kevin?
This was an exceptionally entertaining and insightful read involving an alien who is spending time on earth to determine what life is like. He chooses the year 2020, and each day from January 1 until November 14, Kevin writes a letter to his supervisor on his home planet. The author does a nice job of breaking up the very serious topics he covers with plenty of humor. Each letter home is brief, and the book could be read in a sitting if one chose.
A fun tongue and cheek look at the past year from the eyes of an alien. This quick read is witty and terribly funny at times. I enjoyed the book even though it was a little silly at times. The alien does a fair job of summarizing the human condition. Read with a light heart!
