The Sons of Templar MC. I'm sure you've heard of them. They're infamous. Murderers. Criminals. Outlaws. But to me, they're family. My husband wore the cut for well over a decade. For almost as long as he wore a wedding ring. Our marriage survived wars. Deaths. Blood. The cuts were deep. And they never healed quite right. But we survived. Until we didn't. He promised me forever. And he gave it to me. His version of it, at least. Mine was longer, though. Much longer. I wanted to blame the Sons for killing my husband, wanted to hate the club. The cut. But that was impossible. Especially when I found myself falling in love with another man wearing the same cut. Just when I thought there was nothing left in me to wound, he cut me the deepest.
Anne Malcom has been an avid reader since before she can remember, her mother responsible for her book addiction. It started with magical journeys into the world of Hogwarts and Middle Earth, then as she grew up her reading tastes grew with her. Her obsession with books and romance novels in particular gave Anne the opportunity to find another passion, writing. Finding writing about alpha males and happily ever afters more fun than reading about them, Anne is not about to stop any time soon.
Words have escaped me. All common sense and logic ridden from my body. The only thing left is the gut-wrenching pain, this pounding ache in my chest and the bittersweet fulfilment of a love lost and a love found. It's hard to write a review about a book that has taken apart your soul, piece by piece, with every word. How do you even begin to explain how much that book moved you? How do you describe how lost you were in their world, you were drowning in sorrow and pain. I knew going into this book, that this was going to ultimately destroy me. So when it turned up on my kindle, I was absolutely terrified. I refused to start it. I sat there for a good 20 minutes and stared at it, trying to force myself to man up and just dive in, but my heart knew the pain that was awaiting it and I should have heeded the warning.
Most stories let you experience the finding of a character's greatest love, let you ride the waves of a love filled with beauty and hardship. Scars of Yesterday, the 8th Sons of Templar novel, is either lucky or unfortunate enough to be filled with Lizzie's two greatest loves. And that means, twice the beauty and twice the hardship. We read along and join Elizabeth on her heartbreaking journey of love. Of finding and losing her husband to a life she always knew the dangers of. I think when you read a book it doesn't hurt as much when the character is already widowed, because you don't get up and close with the love she had. You don't fall in love right along with her and have that character embed them self inside your soul. It hits different when you do. And that's what happened with Lizzie and Ranger. And it hurt so much to read about.
If you've made it this far, you know and understand the strength and truth in which these Sons of Templar men love their women. So to have someone who is apart of you be ripped away is a pain that is indescribable. Lizzie is still recovering, she's still in mourning and she is grieving beyond compare. But she can't break down because she has two beautifully strong children who are counting on her. She's barely breathing but she's doing her best. Along comes another SOT member from another chapter and he's everything she knows she can't want. And in turn, begins a love story full of pain, regret, healing and love.
A story that will be felt from the tips of your toes to the ends of your hair. From the depths of your soul to the blood in your heart. I loved everything about it, and despite being terrified, the journey was worth it. I've missed this world so much and just being back in it again opened up the floodgates of emotions I never knew I needed. I don't think anyone will be ready for this story, but take a deep breath, man up and enjoy the ride. It might make you cry, it'll definitely leave you aching, but you will be filled with so much love, you'll be consumed by it.
Bravo Anne, your words relay the absolute strength and resilience you carry, the love you have in your heart and the genius in your mind. Thank you for giving us this story. I shall carry it with me everywhere I go.
Scars of Yesterday is Anne Malcom at her heartbreaking, angsty and intensely emotional best. This explosive and soul shattering MC romance made me bleed and break and then heal. Anne Malcom's mindblowing writing created another unforgettable and awe inspiring romance.
Lizzie thought Cody aka Ranger is her forever. Since Her life in Amber as one of the Old Lady of Sons of Templar MC and her two kids seemed everything. And then she lost her love. She was broken and lost. Her friends and family tried their best. But she was in too much pain. And then Kace walked in her life. The newest member of Sons of Templar MC. Can true love happen twice?
This story is told from Lizzie 's POV and it was fitting. Because we had to feel her utter desolation and destruction. And the author didn't hold back while describing her heart. Not at all. Lizzie is so amazing. She is an inspiring woman to say the least. Brave. Strong. Kind. Fierce. Unimaginable resilience and tenacity to carry on for her kids. But she was also shattered. And Kace glued her back to her alive, happy and cheerful self. Seriously what is this about alpha men and Anne Malcom? This is some kind of voodoo magic from her pen. Kace is that kind of alpha macho man who is hard and dominating and controlling in bed and while comes to protecting his woman and his family. The same alpha who goes impossibly soft while taking care of his woman. THIS IS A LETHAL COMBINATION. Kace had a lot of work to do as Lizzie had miles long and miles high barriers around her heart. She was on verge of break down and Kace had to proceed carefully. The guilt of thinking about new beginning. Worries about two sweetest kids. Anger and bitterness about her first love. But Kace was like the epitome of patience and understanding. My heart just cannot take the level of epic angst in this story. The power of their connection shook me to my very core. Swoonworthy. Surreal. Steamy. Soul deep. MC romance needs an edgy vibe with their unique lifestyle and the author perfectly captured it. The whole Sons of Templar MC family was a joy to read about.
Raw. Gritty. Heartaching. Scars of Yesterday by Anne Malcom was all of the above and then some more. This epic story has gotten deep inside my heart and soul. And left me completely captivated.
Live everywhere!! I'm so so excited to finally be able to share this book with you all. I hope you see how much I put into this. It was amazing to be with the Sons of Templar again xxx
Anne Malcom's best piece of writing I've ever been honored to read, it is a hard read. One I was scared to start, but as always with Anne by the end, she builds us up, and gives us the freedom to fly again.
“You’re giving yourself a harder life than you deserve,” she said quietly, shaking her head. “That club is going to poison what you have. It’s going to ruin your life. And it will take him from you. One way or another."
Lizzie was always the smooth one, the softer one, the one who gave the other Old Ladies a soft place to land after the harsh reality that is Evie. She is no longer that way after Ranger is lost to her. Of course she tries to show that falsity to the other Old Ladies, lovingly gives all that softness to her children, her Mother in Law, Olive, but every other bit of her is tired, bitter, rotting with Ranger, angry. She doesn't know where to go from here, and just as she's struggling the most, another man in a cut appears.
A man nothing like Ranger, a man with light in his eyes, Kace is willing to give Lizzie whatever she needs just so he can be the one she turns to when she comes to the end of her rope.
"My cup runneth the **** over with all of that, baby.”
Kace just wants to be Lizzie's person, the one she knows she can lean into when it gets hard again, because nothing stays easy with the Sons Of Templar.
But this isn't Rangers book, and it surely isn't Kaces book. This is Lizzie's book. This is Anne's dedication piece to the Women and Old Ladies of The Sons of Templar. This is her Opus for them, her song showing you that as Evie says, they're a different kind of Outlaw.
They may not patch in, wear a cut, but these women get their own kind of bloody. They spend their nights alone, washing the blood off their men's clothes, waiting for them to come home, waiting for them to reaffirm that vow of forever. And the only way out is the same step their Old Men take, through death, whether it's peaceful or violent, there's no other path.
Watching all the women coming together again and again, especially Evie and Laura May, in this book not to create havoc and mayhem, but to watch over their friend. To take her back, and do whatever they can to show the strength of the Women of The Sons is a beautiful, endearing thing, and should definitely not be missed in your race to get to the next page.
Lizzie's life with Kace is nothing like her life with Ranger, she knows who she is now, an entirely different being from Ranger's Old Lady, more like Evie than any of the other Old Ladies, except maybe Amy and Bex who've survived their own heartbreak (Amy) and their own version of hell no one has ever seen (Bex.)
Kace will always know that Ranger is back there, and may be waiting for her again on the other side, but he is smart enough to know that he needs to enjoy whichever version of Lizzie he gets on whichever day. And he is truly in love with both sides of this Lizzie.
I am honored to have been able to read this journey with Lizzie, from her fierce girlhood, to her soft and kind journey as a young woman and mother, to her fierce, sensual, often raging side as a woman who has seen things most of us will never imagine.
This book is my favourite for 2020, it is strong, hard, and a brilliant love story for women and the tribulations we all go through daily. You definitely don't want to miss it.
Another heartbreaking beautiful darker love story from an author that has a great gift for building a fictional world yet reliable with so many feelings and emotions that touched me in every possible way
Holy Crap, what have I just read? Even as I think back on this back, I am questioning what I read. The book had the power to reach deep inside you’re body and rip you heart right out of its chest. It such a powerful story that centred around a beautiful love story, loss, pain, grief, and above it all finding inner peace and happiness within yourself to open yourself back open for a second chance at love.
This is a story that you feel with every fibre of you’re being. It’s so intense because just at the beginning of the book you know what you’re getting yourself into, it’s not going to have a happy ending. You’re surrounded by losses, deep cuts that left scars on these characters.
It’s not an easy journey especially watching Lizzie meeting and falling for her husband and then to soon have him ripped from her life.
When tragedy strikes and all is lost and you’re sinking in pain, misery and going down that rabbit hole of darkness. You find yourself Going through the motions of Crying you’re sorrows and drinking the pain away, in reality that can only work for so long, it can only numb you for a short period of time it’s something that’s not long term. This book we follow this journey of Lizzie of how she finds her way through all that she has been through. You could feel her pain seeping through the pages, her loss blurring the lines, when she cried you cried. When she fought hard and gave everything her all you could feel that.
Every time I read this author, she just becomes better and better and her storyline’s are just out of this world amazing. This book was very different because we had a whole piece of this author thrown into it and it made my heart bleed for her, for her pain and loss. It just gave this book an even more raw, real meaning to it.
This book had its challenges, and a combination of everything thrown into the mix but the one thing I loved was watching Lizzie find love again. This man came in at a time that Lizzie needed him most, it wasn’t smooth sailing for them, they were faced with many obstacles but this man was the definition of patience and gave everything his all.
Just thinking about Lizzie and her happiness that she finally got towards the end, makes me tear up. I just love them and love how much of fighter she is.
This is a book that you all need to read, it’s phenomenal. It’s raw, gritty, heartbreaking, and a story that will forever leave an everlasting effect.
This is one of the best books I have ever read. Ever. I cried ugly tears reading this book and actually woke my husband up a little from crying. From beginning to end I was h.o.o.c.k.e.d. on every word in this book. I have to say this book actually gives Mia and Bull's book a run for their money and I never ever would have thought that was possible. I can't recommend this book enough. If you have it and it's sitting on your kindle start reading it now. If you don't have it yet go get it. I would rate this book 10 stars if possible.
I cannot describe just how good this story is, in my opinion it is not just the best book of the series but it is Anne's best book by far. Everything about this book just works, it is the flawed characters, the deeply felt love and the heartbreaks along the way and the absolutely phenomenal writing that pulls it all together into an unforgettable experience.
This is a book about three people Ranger Lizzie and Kace but it is not a love triangle. This is the story of Lizzie's life and what a life she had. Most of the time as I was reading I felt like my heart was being strangled. The breath was literally knocked out of me. The emotions and feelings became too much. My admiration for the women in this series has always been high because they are a group who support and don't bring down, who stand by you when it is needed and when Lizzie needed them they are all there no questions asked. I loved watching Lizzie grow from that young girl with stars in her eyes to the woman who knows who she is and is capable of standing on her two feet and all the stages she had to go through in between. This book is one of my top reads this year. Bravo Anne.
3.5 stars I haven't read the other books in this series; just jumped into this one I would say this is more a book about a woman's journey in her life so far instead of a romance or love story; don't get me wrong; the love and romance are there but with both women. h's dead husband and then later, the guy she ends up with Kudos to the author for making both men so different in nature that I could never say she is looking for her dead husband in the new guy I liked it for the sensitive writing, the h's very real grief and and the many tear-jerking scenes and while I liked the guy she ended up with, somewhere I was wishing the husband had not died. All in all, an enjoyable reading ...
It's okay. The first part of the book is about the heroine and her relationship with her first husband who died. I liked that it wasn't glossed over, remembered as being perfect. Single parent heroine. Younger Hero. Lots of secondary characters updated from their relationships that were in earlier books in series. Breadcrumbs dropped for possible future books in series. Intimacy between heroine and both men in her life, though not as detailed as the Hero and heroine. No other woman drama for Hero. No intimate history. He's new to the area. Pushing away from heroine. HEA. Epilogue.

Anne Malcom tears us up in Scars of Yesterday, book 8 in her Sons of Templar MC series.
Usually, you might find an author rehashing material when the series has moved beyond a trilogy. But not Anne Malcom.
She fights to keep her characters living through pain and fear and joy and love. She wrecks us while she is doing it, that’s for sure, but each step that we take, we are rewarded with an intensity that does not diminish.
This is a book where you will cry, know that going into it-but it is because of this author’s tenacity that I trust she is taking us on a journey where we need to feel the pain, and remember the scars of yesterday.
Lizzie lived two different seasons in her life. She had to learn that it was ok to live again even when you faced unimaginable tragedies and she needed to find someone that would not make her forget but to embrace the pain, and overcome it
This book was so beautifully written that you will not even notice that is slowly breaks you. There is so much emotion in every word that you will have to periodically step away from reading to gain your composure. This book will tear your heart open and leave it bleeding until the last word and even then it will not be fully healed.
If you crave a book that will have your emotions running rampant then you need this book ASAP
Oh my heart! We were all warned that this book was going to put us through the emotional wringer, and it was so so true! Scars of Yesterday is actually really Lizzie’s story. We are taken on this journey with her when she finds this tremendous love story with Ranger, standing by her man even while her heart breaks, then watching them build a family and then experience excruciating loss and then to feel her ultimate heartbreak with the death of Ranger. But while going through this emotional roller coaster ride, the one constant I kept feeling was how in awe I was of Lizzie. Her ability to love was enormous, she suffered heartbreak after heartbreak but she was still standing and still able to love. Don’t get me wrong, she did go through bouts of anger and bitterness and not wanting to go on, but she let herself feel that and then brushed herself off and tried to move on again. She also tried to distance herself from the Sons of Templar, she tried to stay angry with them, but she is the ultimate Old Lady and they are family. She is given space but once she is back within their folds she is faced with what it truly means to move on with the appearance of Kace. She could not imagine falling in love again, and she tried her hardest to stay away, but Kace was always there for her and her two children. Kace is one of the newest members of the Sons of Templar, he is as alpha as they come, but there is also this softness in him. The patience and empathy he has for Lizzie and her two children was also so awe-inspiring to me. Their connection was intense and scorchingly hot. But Lizzie still had many reasons for not wanting to commit to Kace, but when the reality of being in a MC comes around again they both knew what they meant to each other.
Scars of Yesterday was a tough read, especially since we see her life with Ranger and then to experience along with Lizzie the loss of him and then not knowing if we could imagine her with anyone else. But this author was able to do just that. Lizzie and Kace’s love story was just as beautiful if not more so than Lizzie and Ranger’s. My heart swooned when Kace acknowledged that Ranger will always be in Lizzie and her children’s hearts but he admitted that made him love Lizzie even more. He never wanted to change her and the way she loved. This was definitely another 5 star read!
And a personal message to Anne Malcom, I could not not acknowledge my sadness and aching heart for what you are going through in your own personal life. Like how I felt about Lizzie, I am just as in awe of your willingness to share your own pain and loss to help all those who might be feeling the same way and not to feel so alone. Bravo to your beautiful heart.
I am not sure if there are words that can do this book justice. I knew that it was going to be good, how could it not be considering who the author is? Yet, being that it was book eight, I didn't see it being the one that would completely knock me on my behind and make me feel on a visceral level. However, that is exactly what it did.
I was prepared that this book would sting. How could it not when it explains in the blurb that someone dies. Especially knowing how this club is, I knew it would be someone that would sting in the right setting. The author did an amazing job setting up the timeline in a way that took me back to the beginning in order to set the scene. I again was reminded of what it felt like to go through the hell that they did before the MC was cleaned up. What I wasn't prepared for were the descriptions and feelings that this author penned in order to get into the mindset of Lizzie. Watching her life in the beginning from dating to marriage to kids to loss and ultimately the grief process (in more ways than one) made my heart feel like it was permanently lodged in my throat. I felt her break but also remain strong because she had no other choice. She was the prime example of the old saying, "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger", and in this case, she might have been the strongest and bravest woman from the series. I haven't felt emotions like this since Bull's story and trust me when I say that his story almost broke me from this series.
Kace. sweet holy titfire... this man. He was so sincere and loving juxtaposed with matter of fact and alpha. I am a sucker for that lethal combination. It is a hard balance to maintain without it coming out as too unrealistic or cheesy, and few authors can do it justice unless they are Kristen Ashley. Well, I am here to say that Kace would have made KA proud because he was delicious. Every conscious decision and interaction he made that gave Lizzie control but also left him in control made their relationship even better.
This is a story of love and loss and then love again. It was healing and restored my belief in the power of love. There are some humorous moments--I love any chance to see this girl posse in action or see them with their men. I cannot recommend this book or this series enough. Moreover, I cannot recommend this amazing author enough. This book is definitely in my top books of 2020.
I’ve attempted this review more times ~ on ‘paper’ and in my head ~ than I care to admit, but nothing I’ve attempted feels right.
It’s either too much or not enough. There has been no middle ground. So, I’m gonna keep it short and sweet (I hope)
This book is a journey. It is everything heartbreaking and heartwarming that I love about reading romance and then some. It had me laughing out loud, swooning and getting all kinds of teary eyed and sniffly. It’s about love, loss and finding a way to keep going ~ even in the most bleak of moments ~ and having a family, whether by blood or by choice, that will be there for you no matter what.
As for Lizzie, Ranger and Kace. I fell into full on adoration for all of them. Lizzie is simply amazing because even with all that she went through she found a way to come out stronger for it, Ranger I hurt for him but loved how he loved and Kace definitely had me swooning in all kinds of ways. These three did my heart in and I loved every minute I got to spend with them ~ even the heartbreaking ones.
This really was a great read, a rough one with all the emotional landmines, but a great read. The dark is balanced out by the light and I loved how everything was handled. I’m a sucker for secondary characters, and though I have not read all of the books in the series, I loved getting to hang out with the SOT crew. They are all crazy and loving and truly encompass what family is with how they rallied behind each other and I cannot wait to hang out with them all again.
This book can be read as a stand-alone, so if you haven’t read the series you’ll be alright. It does cover quite a few years, so you will hear about all the other characters and get some insight on what they’ve been through, but it will only serve to make you want to grab their books if you haven’t already.

You know you have an amazing book in front of you when you are only 18% in and are awaken in the middle of the night already thinking about your review and how you will be able to do this book justice. This I believe is my absolute TOP read of 2020. This has been a crappy year for all but books have been my savior.
I will try to write up a review that will do Anne Malcom and this book the justice it deserves. I can see how much of her she put into this story and I connected with it on so many levels. When and author can seem like they get you and knows you on a personal level then you know it is epic.
Lizzy and Ranger had a good life. Meeting young and starting a life together. Then things get in the way and life happens. No one knows how they will live when a tragedy happens and we all think life will end for us. This is a beautiful story of a second chance at finding the life you have always wanted. Kace was a gentle laid back man who had lived his life and not the best start of it but he was resilient and made it work. It can be a bit refreshing when someone new comes into your life and only knowing part of the story that will give us all a fresh outlook of sorts.
"He treated me like I was made of glass, expecting me to shatter. The women didn't do the because they knew that we were diamonds. It took a lot more to break us"
I can keep going on with my love for this book but each of us will have our own opinions, thoughts and reactions to this. We are all different people and have different road maps we have weathered. I think this is the longest review I have ever written and feel like I am just rambling on but I loved this story soo much that I feel soo many others will also.
This story was a beautiful story of love, loss and rebirth. Finding love in a lifetime is precious. Finding it twice is remarkable.
When you start a book with a title such as this you are given an insight into the fact that this story will be the emotional super roller coaster of all times-and how true it turned out to be! (plus the author does give you fair warning at the start)
My heart honestly hurt at times, I mean I truly felt some measure of agony for the characters and what they were going through. I would defy any person who could read this incredible story and not be immediately and fully immersed into the world of the Sons of Templar MC and Lizzie and her family. To be both involved as a participant and to be affected emotionally. As much as my heart did break a time or two there are also some lighter moments that are extremely humorous, the fun banter between the female characters especially. There’s also the shock value in some of what they come out with-absolutely priceless!
One of the best things about this author is her incredible ability to describe scenes and characters with minute details without it being wordy. Also another reason why as a reader you can’t help but get caught in the story, escaping into Amber and the life of Lizzie. Having the story written from Lizzie’s perspective was a perfect touch too
The pace of this book is quite fast because of the solid storyline, I love how there are twists and turns that sideswipe you when you least expect it, unpredictability is a big winner in my book. The issues tackled in the story are not ones that are easy to face for many of us in real life, however, they were handled extremely well and I love that it was in a very ‘true to life’ manner too.
This brilliant book in this series is definitely worth more than five stars!
Raw, gritty, heartbreaking this story could only be told so dark and beautifully by Ms. Malcom. Not all love stories are sugar and sweet. Some are grit and nails but just as beautiful. Anne Malcom writes a story that jumps off the page and grips onto your heart. You feel the pain, smell the stench of ruins and then embrace all the sunrises.
Cody and Lizzie are high school sweethearts whose road was paved with gravel. The bumps and bruises of the MC life became their normal. Futures were changed once they grabbed onto those handles and rode it out together. Until they couldn’t and life gave them a separation that cut their story short there wouldn’t be any happy ever after.
MC life isn’t an easy one. Hard living, riding and club business all demanded loyalty above all else. When you’re bleeding they will patch you up, find who ruined you and make sure whoever caused you pain would never have the chance to do it again. Sometimes that person is you.
In this story you will witness pain, love and laughter. They will become family and you’d want to to stand by them and help them find their peace. But here’s the thing, peace doesn’t live in Amber for very long. Bad things happen. But so do some very goods things. Life long family whose strength will pull you through. But even with a club behind you being alive sometimes was more painful than dying.
“Being alive didn’t haunt me. We were all killers in different ways. Whether we killed those out to harm us or killed parts of ourselves.”
If you love alpha men who treasure their woman while being badass road warriors, you will need to step into their boots and get on the back of their bike and take this ride.
I am so emotional while writing this review. Everyone experiences pain, some more life altering then others, but pain none the less. Can there be beauty in pain or does the beauty come from looking pain in the face and not being defeated?
The Sons of Templar series is one of my all time favorites. It doesn't shy away from heartache and intense emotion. It drags you into the maelstrom of a violent and raw MC world. The characters come to life and I feel right there with them. I felt Lizzie's loss and her ferocious desire to protect her children. I felt her desire to give them a life, as carefree as possible, after such a loss. I felt the guilt and doubt when she meets Kace. I felt all the emotion as she tried to explain that she will always be a woman who loves two men. This writer has managed to capture grief, not sugar coat loss, yet still leave room for hope. As the famous poet, Emily Dickinson says: "Hope” is the thing with feathers - That perches in the soul - And sings the tune without the words - And never stops - at all -
I would give this book many more ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ if possible, because it will stay tucked away within my heart forever.
MC romance at it's absolute finest! How does the Sons of Templar series just keep getting better and better?! If you've followed the series, buckle up babe. Grab the tissues, it's about to get angsty!!! Anne Malcom delivers a captivating read in Scars of Yesterday! Complete with emotion, suspense, and soul deep romance, the Sons will steal your heart all over again!
I absolutely adored Lizzie in all aspects of her journey. Anne Malcom did an exceptional job of putting us in her head, and in her heart, and I felt every emotion on a visceral level. It was beautiful, heart-wrenching, and completely perfect in every way. I don't want to give any spoilers so I'll keep it brief, but if you know and love the Sons, Scars of Yesterday is a MUST read (a knowledge of the series and the happenings of the previous book is necessary for the best reading experience).
I absolutely cannot wait to see what's next for our Sons of Templar!
(Note: it is book 8 in the Sons of Templar Series but can be read as a standalone if you haven't followed the series) Scars of Yesterday is an emotionally powerful book. It is difficult to read, especially if you have followed all of the characters through the Sons of Templar Series, but it is oh, so good. Ranger and Lizzie have such a beautiful, loving story, and it is both heartbreaking and wonderful reading about their love. Lizzie's metamorphosis throughout the book is hard to get through, simply because it could be any of us who have experienced love and loss. How she deals with her life is such a process, her complexity and grieving so real. Anne Malcom always tends to write about very real, gritty, difficult situations and she has such an ability to translate that into beautiful words and then, stories. Everyone should read this book. 5 Beautiful Stars!
What a beautifully-written, heart-wrenching story. Anne Malcom has outdone herself. This novel was angsty, gripping and engrossing and I was totally consumed with the story and its characters and have not been able to stop thinking about it. Scars of Yesterday is the 8th book in the Sons of Templar MC series and each book keeps getting better and better. This story took us on a roller-coaster ride, one that was raw and intense and will evoke every emotion from you. Expect to feel it all and then some more. This is Lizzie's story, told from her POV and from two different phases in her life, and the author did a phenomenal job with the descriptions and getting us into Lizzie's frame of mind. This is a story of love and loss, of heartbreak and healing, of moving forward and loving again. Without a doubt one of my top reads for 2020, this 5 star page turner is one I would highly recommend.
MINI REVIEW Wow. This book. It’s heavy. Raw. Heartbreaking. And yet, somehow beautiful at the same time. I felt so many emotions. You could feel the anguish especially in chapter 1 of Part 2. That chapter had the tears flowing and it’s one I don’t think I’ll ever forget. But that wasn’t the only tough one.
I’m not sure I loved Ranger. But the connection they had was undeniable. And that I loved. But Kace, my gosh. He’s my favourite kind of alpha- goes after what he wants without pushing. Lizzie was just so strong. Gosh.
I love this MC family that you will also get to see much of! Especially Gage, what a man! This is a heartwrenching, emotional read about loss and second chances that I definitely recommend if you can handle emotionally tough reads. Much love to the author.
What an absolutely amazing book. This book has so many emotions. I have been telling lots of people about this. It sucks you in and doesn't let you go, until it spits you out at the end - as an emotional wreck. Lizzie is an absolutely amazing character. She knew at an early age who she wanted and she stayed true the whole way through. The Sons of Templar are such an amazing support network and Lizzie was a very loved member. The emotions she went through with Ranger and the again with Kace absolutely ripped me apart. The guilt at living. Striving to do the right thing for her kids. And towards the end I nearly thew my kindle across the room! Any author that can make you care so much for a character and make you live every emotion they do is absolutely amazing. Thank you Anne, for yet another masterpiece!
Oh man 😓 I cried so much like I was her sister or her friend, and probably I am her friend(Heroine). Anne made me her friend.I felt her pain like it was mine.thank you Anne for this beautiful story, so painfully beautiful.I won’t say any spoilers....you need this book!!! It’s a story that anyone have to read and endure “her” pain ❤️ P.S I badly want next generation....Jack is already a badass SOT member 💋
I think this is the best book I have ever read but it was also one of the most emotionally devastating. It is beautifully written to tear your heart out, put it back together and then tear it out again. I feel like an entirely different person with new skin after reading this book. I love the writing style of this author and her ability to so beautifully and accurately express the emotions of the characters she writes. I knew this book would be a difficult read emotionally but it was more than worth it. I would recommend this book if you love a good emotional read or just a beautifully written book.
Oh my heart. This story was breathtakingly beautiful, tragic and amazing all at once. It was such a tragically sad read and then stunningly beautiful ending. I had to put this down a few to be able to fully appreciate the feelings and emotions that shone through the pages. Anne has a way of writing that breaks you open and puts you back together. This way this story is written is a testament to the magic that Anne is able to create. Thank you for opening yourself up to us in this way and thank you for the words you write 😘😘
As a fan of Anne Malcom’s SOT series, this is one of the best. Ita more reminiscent of the first 5 books in the series, before the spin-offs, before the big war. But that’s because the first quarter of this story- Lizzie’s story- occurred in the very early days. You CAN read this as a standalone, but you’ll appreciate and feel it much MUCH more if you read the early series first.
Part 2 of Lizzie’s story is full of hope. It’s life after. It’s a about learning to live again. And it’s full of Kace.
Lizzie devoted her whole life to loving Ranger. She supported him when he joined the Sons of Templar MC. All she asked for was him to promise he’d never leave her. Ranger broke that promise when he died. We get to follow Lizzie’s journey through the heartbreak and trying to move on. I loved this story so much. We also got pieces of the others in this story.
My boys are back!!!! There are no words to describe this book. My heart hurt for Lissie.. She is so strong. She survived from all the tragedies in her life. Once again Anne Malcom blew my mind!!! Bravo🖤🖤
