Amy Yoder’s mother had found a suitable Amish man for Amy to marry. The only problem was he lived far away in Wisconsin. Being a deacon’s daughter, Amy was constantly reminded she had to set an example and that meant she needed to marry. The furthest thing from Amy’s mind was she would actually like Andrew, the man she was sent to meet. Their budding relationship was all too brief, cut short when Amy was urgently called back home. While Amy pines after Andrew, she endures watching her younger sister find love and marry before her. What had become of Andrew who had once professed his love, and why had his letters stopped? Will Amy ever have her happily ever after?

This was the last book in the trilogy about the girls who wanted to get jobs by advertising at a local market. All of the girls ended up with husbands. One was English and the others were Amish or converted to be an Amish. This book was about Amy who waited a long time to find her husband. She did not mind being the last girl to get married. I especially enjoyed reading about Gabbie who finally found a husband for herself after she had changed her ways. She became more caring and gossiped less.
The Amish Deacon's Daughter is the final amazing book written by Samantha Price in her Amish's Maids Trilogy series. This book centers around the remaining girl in the group without the promise of marriage. The author has done a fantastic job creating her characters which appear very likeable and realistic. Amy Yoder has become discouraged at the aspect of finding the man of her dreams. When Amy is approached by her parents about their plan to send her to a community in a different state to stay with a family she is not aquatinted with she becomes very distraught. Accepting her parents wishes Amy sets out on this frightening adventure.
Amy is a discovering that finding her true match may never happen but then she meets Andrew in her new community. Andrew is very strong in his faith and values his family until the secret is revealed and the story takes a big turn. Just as Amy and Andrew have discovered their love for each other, Amy has been summoned home to help care for her ill mother. Amy is not sure a long distance relationship will work. After several months go by without word from Andrew Amy has given up hope. The story takes a different path now and is focused on Amy's younger sister Martha and the daughter of the family Amy had been living with. Through many twist and turns plus a deceitful young girl the story gets really interesting. As the story plays out which of the two Deacon's daughters will get married remains to be seen. This story will keep you turning pages just to discover what happens.
I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story. I really enjoyed this series and highly recommend it.
Congratulations to Samantha Price on releasing this series for her readers enjoyment.
I love Samantha Price. Her writing style is so smooth and drama free. It’s relaxing and soothing. I only wish there was more closure at the end. As soon as the couple gets together or commits, boom, it’s over. Sometimes it comes as a shock, it’s so abrupt. Other than that her books are great.
The Amish Deacon’s Daughter. Samantha.Price Book 3..Amish.Maid.Trilogy We meet Amy approaching twenty, the oldest of six girls. No man on site, and parents reminded her of that almost daily. Her father is a deacon, and it is important that his family set an example for others to follow. He had written to another Deacon, having a brother unmarried, and thirty, for her to go to. The family had a daughter eighteen, Gabbie, she asked what was Andrew like. He’s old, too serious, and no fun. At dinner, Andrew asked what was she doing so far from home, a vacation. Stunned, she couldn’t answer, didn’t he know. She had a job, he asked why did she leave it. Bishop and his wife are not saying anything. He questions her about the Miller’s this wasn’t normal for them, did she upset them. She feels like she is keeping a secret, and that makes her tense around Andrew. Jane and John felt that Andrew had been by himself too long, that he wouldn’t of done anything like this, by himself. When Gabbie, let it be known, why Amy was there, Andrew got upset and left, hurt that his brother, and family would do something like this. She is summoned home because her mother was ill. Her parents regret sending her, she was needed at home. What is Amy to do, she had fallen for Andrew and his blue eyes. Waiting for God to show her what to do, honoring parents. Or for the love of a man she just met. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
Dinner was Friday night where Gabbie went to Ilsa’s house. Saturday afternoon was the picnic with Isla. Then by default, Sunday is the following day meaning it was either the gathering or a day of rest, except for visiting friends and family but in Chapter 35 , it says that Gabby took a shower and hurried downstairs to help her mom with the task of baking bread. Also, her father brought in milk for the family. As I have read many times in Amish novels, on Sundays, there are no chores and in fact the food is prepared on Saturday to allow a day of rest. How is it possible a bishop’s family worked on Sunday? Looks like the editor missed a key discrepancy unless I missed something.
The Amish Deacon’s Daughter by Samantha Price is the third book in the Amish Maids Trilogy. Amy, the eldest of six daughters, the deacon’s daughter, was pressured daily by her parents to find a husband. Her father thought she would never get married because she was nearly twenty. He decided to play matchmaker and set up a trip for Amy to meet a thirty-year-old man in Wisconsin named Andrew. Amy was upset to be leaving her home in Lancaster and all her family and friends. Her younger sister, Martha, was sad to see her leave, but happy that Gabbie was coming to stay with her family. She was from Wisconsin and was her pen pal as well as her sister’s friend. These two young women fall for the same man. This book creates some good drama and keeps you guessing about who will end up with whom. This concludes the trilogy and was a wonderful series about Amish maids finding love and marriage. Another 5-star book that I highly recommend.
I didn't like how one character was a manipulative but I liked how the third book taught an important lesson and her to learn to rely on God's timing. The reason for the 5 star rating was because the books have very good endings where you want to keep reading to see how things turn out.
Gabbie has to go away because she is being immature in the eyes of her bishop Father. A lot of this was about proper behavior which is sometimes difficult when you are young. I liked the series wrap up wedding also.
I enjoyed this series because it taught me things I hadn’t thought about but was doing. I have come to enjoy these characters like my own family and I will continue to read more like this series! Thank you.
This book was very good and shared alot of ideas about family and friends. It was enjoyable to watch some people change for the better. I enjoyed this book from start to finish.
I love the fast pace of this book! There is always something new happening. It was so easy to become immersed in this story. I received an advanced readers copy of this book.
Loved the entire series of Amish Maids Trilogy! I would suggest to read the books in order. Loved all the little twist and turns that Samantha weaves in her stores.
I didn't like this book and I didn't like the character of Gabbie. She almost seemed un-Amish like in her selfish ways. And at the end of the book her character seemed to change too easily.
In this book it Amy's story that is told, i do find that in most of these books they only got to see the man & they are falling which yes there is love at first sight but not every time
The way her father sent her away then she has to come back & her & her sister's reaction as to why their mother is ill or should say having a baby
While i get that the older girls has to help in the home it seems that the mother has the babies but the older girls has to do the looking after them even to the point that her life is foregone so i didn't feel that the family was that good Amy had a sister who was only 2 years younger so she could have help/look after the family without having to have Amy come home & not allowed to go back because of her mum having a baby
Beautiful story. It's a lovely romance. A little straight forward and predictable but the characters and the rhythm of the storyline are enjoyable and relaxing. I'm not sorry I purchased.
