Steamy hot romantic suspense, with a lot of emphasis on the suspense and the steam mixed in! This is the first book that I have read by the author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It kept me completely engaged in the story of Jocelyn Gerber, an ADA who is threatened by a crime boss on his way to trial. She has a bodyguard named Landon and the two of them don’t trust each other. Nevertheless, their attraction for each other is obvious and builds as the story evolves. There were some unexpected twists and lots of clues to who is the “inside man” for Luther Mills if you pay close attention. Luther is determined not to go to prison and pulls out all the stops, threatening and having various people killed throughout the book. The characters were actively involved in each other’s lives and very realistically portrayed. I gave the book four stars because the ending disappointed me some, but the book was a fast-paced thrill ride. Now, I need to find a sequel to read! Fans fo romantic suspense with hot bedroom scenes will enjoy this book from Harlequin.

Close quarters with the body guard..
By Lisa Childs..

A rollercoaster ride for sure but a fun one. I truly enjoyed this story and read it in 2 sittings because it was a good story that kept me intrigued because I wanted to know how the story ended..

Prosecutor Joselyn Gerber,
Has another threat out on her life so bodyguard Landon Myers has been Signed to her, Prosecutor Jocelyn is not happy about a body guard.
The killer is locked up and he is very dangerous..
So now everyone on the case has a bodyguard assigned to them..

There is a leak and no one knows if it's coming from the police department or the prosecutor's office.. This is something they will have to figure out.
The body guards stick together. they all help out with the case all the body guards guys are X detectives . The body guard sticks together. Like Brothers.

At one point Joycelyn decides she doesn't need, A bodyguard . This doesn't turn out so well.

But until the trial is over. There is danger for everyone involved.

This was my 1st read by Lisa Childs I do have another book of hers I plan on reading very soon her books are very good. Fast reads and will keep you reading until the very end because they're really good I do suggest her books to every one.

Oh wow, I did not realize this was the 12th book in this series when I picked it up at the library but Childs has a very expensive world and overall plot line built up. Based on what I’ve looked at of the rest of the series so far this book chronologically takes place at the same time as two other books in this series and the events of those books are not only referenced but some of the characters of those books also weave in and out of this book as well. Well planned out and organized does not begin to cover it.

This book can be read as a stand alone but cameos of characters from previous books do appear and are referenced so long time readers will find enjoyment in that. The reach of the crime lord is impressive though I found it annoying that we had points of view from both the mole and the crime lord that were phrased in such a way that we couldn’t figure out who the mole was. We as readers really weren’t allowed to know enough clues about the mole until right when the mole is revealed.

If you want resolution for the overall plot line of the crime lord being brought to justice, you’re going to have to read past this 12th book for it. The epilogue leaves you wondering which book will actually see him convicted.

Close Quarters With The Bodyguard by Lisa Childs is my first book by this author and definitely won’t be the last! This suspenseful story has everything in it!! Along with a lot of suspense, Childs throws in some steamy romance to balance things out! Filled with twist and turns, this book will keep you engaged from page one and you will not be able to put it down! The characters are multifaceted and realistically involved with each other and the plot. A beautiful ADA who is threatened by a crime lord and a hot bodyguard she wants nothing to do with. Their love hate relationship will take you on a twisty roller coaster ride you will not want to get off of! Just when you think you have it figured out you will turn the page and be completely surprised! I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and hope there are more to come! I highly recommend this novel to all of who like a hot steamy romantic suspenseful read!
Thank you Lisa Childs and Harlequin Books for an ARC of this amazing novel in exchange for an honest review.

I just picked this up at the pharmacy for a quick read. The storyline was traditional and predictable. Parts of the plot were unrealistic. When someone is shot and then has to have surgery to repair the damage, they are not going to walk out of the hospital an hour later and then have the strength to battle a possible killer. That was too far fetched in my opinion. I understand that the author was attempting to quicken the pace, but there's nothing wrong with simply saying... she stayed with him for two days, but needed answers and left, he woke up realizing she was gone and then have the same events take place. That was my only real pet peeve with the storyline.
Overall, it was a pleasant read, pretty mild for a romance - I don't normally read harlequins so I was just expecting more sex. Lol.

This was a nice story that started off with choppy writing in the first few chapters. After that the writing was smoother and with that the story got better. The hero was likeable enough and the heroine is your typical strong headed love interest in trouble. Unlike many other Romantic Suspense from Harlequin, this one is told from three POVs (the third alternating between the villain and his henchmen) so that added more depth for real suspense lovers. Its not a can't put down story but its entertaining enough that most will want to finish it

Took me two days to read. Very good plot, however, cheesy at times.

Action, suspense, and steam. Exactly the combination I look for in Lisa Childs' Bachelor Bodyguards series. This addition definitely did not let me down.

Thank you for another great read, Ms. Childs.
