Conrad is blackmailed in to doing a favour for the chief of police. To bring his daughter Hannah home from college in California.
Hannah has been off the rails since she was 16 years old. She’s spent the last four years in and out of drunken hazes, never knowing where she was going to wake up. She’s used her body as a weapon to get what she wants from weaker willed men.
When Conrad eventually lands in California, he wastes no time in tracking down Hannah. He’s on a tight schedule, and always likes to keep to his plans. Simple enough? Not when Hannah’s concerned.
She does not want to go back to Myrtle Beach. She hasn’t seen or spoken to her father in four years and has no intention on starting now. Drunk Hannah and sober Hannah are both 100% behind that. So she does everything she can to make things difficult for Conrad. She uses her body, her womanly wiles, fights against him and is consistently determined in her efforts. Conrad quickly realises that his neat, laid out tight schedule has gone out the window. Instead of flying back to Myrtle Beach, road it is.....
•Oh no! No, no, no! It can’t end that way.....
Wow! What a ride! After the first three, interconnected books that kicked off this new Chapter of the Savage Kings MC, there was a how do you follow that moment.
This does it perfectly. It’s much lighter but still covers series issues like alcohol dependence. We get to know more about one of the identical ‘blond Viking gods’. Conrad is the calmer of the two, the organised twin, the planner, the one that stays at home at night with no revolving bedroom door, unlike his loud, larger than life brother Cannon...such an apt name ;-) But even he can have secrets.
The attraction and chemistry between Conrad and Hannah is electric and he really is saint for staying the course. He ‘sees’ Hannah and for the first time she gets that and understands that although he’s being blackmailed into this by her father, Conrad genuinely does have Hannah’s best interests at heart.
Another well written and thoroughly enjoyable ride. Superb!
