Reporter Hannah O'Reilly will do anything for a story--including gate-crashing Jack's estate on a stormy New Year's Eve. But she soon discovers he's more than champagne and caviar. And being stranded, she's got the chance to savor all his other delights--like his warm hands...and hot body.
Hannah's penchant for leaping before she looks just might have worked. If she can get the real story out of this sexy mystery man it will be the scoop of the century.
But as the snow piles up higher and Jack starts making his moves...who's scooping whom?
Isabel Sharpe began writing in 1994 after leaving her job to raise her son. A former “bored housewife,” she has authored over twenty Harlequin novels and now writes women-focused fiction for Avon/HarperCollins, embracing her unexpected career.
No Holding Back is hot, lovely, sometimes funny, sometimes sad and very well-plotted. And did I mention hot? The characters are both sympathetic, believable and vulnerable, which makes it easy to like them. They are so attracted to each other that they try to forget their (work)ethics - it's sweet that they struggle with their principles but can't resist one another. Not even when they feel betrayed, are disappointed or angry - the attraction is too strong.
Reporter Hannah O'Reilly is determined to make the New Year count so she starts by sneaking into the estate of reclusive millionaire Jack Brattle on a stormy New Year's Eve. Finding herself stranded in his luxurious house is just a perk of her job especially since he's got champagne, gorgeous food and a delicious body that he's willing to share with her.
Hannah has always been known as the impulsive type but she might just have landed a career and life changing scoop with the sexy millionaire. Or maybe things aren't quite as perfect as they seem!
This was an enjoyable read from Blaze although you really have to escape reality to believe in the everlasting love after only 24 hours. Having said that, as a pure escapism fairy-tale, this was perfect!
Mysterious, brooding heroes with a boyish charm are my favourite kind and Hannah was someone I could definitely identify with. The pair had some good sizzle but it wasn't ever totally scorching.
Overall, this is a good book to make you forget your troubles for a while. It's fun, romantic and great if you enjoy a quick yet satisfying read. 4 stars.
A solid romance with plenty of sexual tension and character building. I'm writing this review some time after having read the book because the characters are that memorable. The cute twist made the book more enjoyable!
I've been a fan of Isabelle Sharp for years and can't wait to add more of her books to my list!
B444 Determined woman is taking a chance that the information she's uncovered will find Jack, who has not been seen in 10 years. Driving in the middle of a snowstorm on roads she doesn't know just manages to find the mansion. Sprained ankle and damaged car, but she is there ready for the story. Just who is Jack?
I liked this story of impetuous newswoman gate-crashing estate on New Years Eve and things heated up nice but sometimes trivial descriptions got too detailed bringing my rating down to 3.5*
