This would have gotten a higher star rating but for the continuity errors. In book 1 of the series Mina says she is an adrenaline junkie who loves roller coasters and in this book she says she’s no adrenaline junkie. She says this is only the second time she’s used a portal yet in the second book she used one multiple times to go back and forth between two towns. In the last book Scarlett got a small role in the movie, then early on in this book she hasn’t, but later in the book it says she’s had a small role in the movie. Theses errors are such a shame as the books are fun and without them would be better.
The main story line of the book is obviously about the murder of a film director. But I rather like the continuing side stories that go along with it. The messages about self love are done nicely without laying it on to thickly, so that you feel like you can take something from it without feeling like you’ve been preached to.
The way Mina deals with the bigotry she encounters towards paranormal creatures other than witches and wizards is well written and I love Minas response and come backs to it all. She is happy to stand up to someone she believes is wrong and calmly put her reasoning across even when she is not the wronged party. This is one of the reasons I really like her as a character.
Pawdry, as Pawdry will tell you, is simply fabulous.
I’d like to get to know chief enforcer Tyson a bit better. This is the fourth book and there have been glimpses into her that lead me to want to know more. Hopefully in future books I’ll get that chance. Similarly with Minas team. They seem like they could be fun to get to know.
You get to know Scarlett and Zayne a bit more in each book and I’m happy to get to know them better.
If you’re wanting a full on mystery thriller then this isn’t for you. If you’re wanting a full on romance, then this isn’t for you. If your wanting a light comfortable read, that doesn’t get heavy even when dealing with what could be heavy topics, then this is for you. A light touch of mystery, a light touch of romance, a lot of kindness and friendship. Despite the errors I enjoyed this and the other books in the series as perfect light holiday reading. This is a fun read that can be gobbled up in a day.

She soon learns that she was actually born in this world and her mother took her away at a young age. She decides to stay in this new world with her maternal grandmother cousins and other family. Her grandmother owns a company in the paranormal world and she becomes the advertising guru for her grandmothers company. She also has a knack for solving mysteries. So read on and find out all the fun and adventures of this entertaining magical world and its characters.

Another movie set..
Pawdrey has the lead familiar role in this new movie being directed by the newest hot shot director, Julie Torden.
Mina arrives to collect Pawdrey to see her riding on the back of a dragon who's being chased across the skies by another. All in a days work for Pawdrey who's totally wrapped up in becoming the biggest familiar star in the history of Hollywitch. But when Julie fails to turn up, the crew and actors dither so Mina, and Zayne who's reporting on the film, head off to search for her.
What they find is a body, Julie's been stabbed multiple times and now the hunt is on for a killer and Pawdrey's dreams could be up in smoke as the production stalls.

Mina's familiar Pawdrey is enjoying her career as an actress while a new film is being filmed in Fairy Falls. Mina's cousin Scarlett is getting discouraged that HER acting career isn't taking off as quickly as she would like.
Things go from bad to worse when there is a murder on the production set. Mina investigates alongside her new love interest and up and coming reporter Zayne.
This was a fantastic cozy paranormal story. The characters are well developed and the mystery had me guessing until the end. I really like the blossoming romance between Mina and Zayne and Pawdrey Hepburn is a hilarious familiar.
Cannot wait for more books in this series. Highly recommend!

Mina's familiar Pawdrey had gotten very lucky and landed a job in the movie that was being filmed in Fairy Falls. A famous female director who was considered an "overnight success" that had only taken 30 years of hard work. On the day of close-up work the director is no where to be found until Mina finds her in her trailer, quite dead. She and a reporter from the paper are off trying finding out "who done it".

Welcoming?
So we have a fairy who received a message that she wasn't welcome in Fairy Falls . And even though so many other paranormals welcomed her, she felt the need to leave. When Mina hears of this she makes sure that her friend Chief Taylor gets told about it. And on we go from there. Can't wait for this next book!

Fun series
This is a fun storyline set in a paranormal town.The plot and subplots move quickly, but the conversations are a little formal and not entirely natural. I am looking forward to the next book.

Fun paranormal mystery
I really like the setting of Fairy Falls and the characters are great. The Live Shack reminds me of Lush but make it magical. It’s a really fun read with lovely subplots with the main plot being a murder mystery.

Fairy land is great
Lots of action and keeps you on the edge of your seat. It’s hard to stop reading long enough to have lunch or do other things that have been scheduled to do.
