Oh my gosh!!! This was so ridiculously cute! I couldn’t stop laughing and smiling through the whole book!
This is a first love, second chance story with characters that won me over immediately. Caitlyn was so much fun. She just wanted to get in and out as quickly as a Christmas wedding would allow her. Unfortunately for her, Logan had other plans and his determined persistence made me love him.
And oh my gosh, this couple get up to some of the sexist shenanigans I’ve ever read! Each time I thought things were going to go a certain way, this author switched things up and I found myself falling even harder in love with this couple.
A perfect read to spend a few hours during the holiday break with.

"A Holiday Homecoming" (Christmas at the Sugarberry Inn Book 1) by Jessa York is a great read. I loved Logan and Caitlyn's story. This was a fun story, packed with romance, passion, Christmas, humor, small-town life, close friends, family, second chances, and more. I hope we'll be hearing more about these characters in the future. Recommend to all fans of romance, second chances, friends, small-town life, and series.
A Holiday Homecoming is a super cute second chance romance. Loved this from start to finish. After ten years, Caitlyn is finally coming home for her best friends wedding and hoping to not run into her ex, Logan. Ha! No such luck. This is a sweet and delightful tale of love that will melt your heart. The whole cast of characters were wonderful. It was a fun read that kept me wanting to know what would happen next.
I got to beta read this sweet book by Jesse York!! It’s gives all the feels with some Christmas fun thrown in! Caitlyn and Logan are a second chance amazing story. What I loved most was there was so much history between them and just went I wanted to know more, it was there. It was well written and make me laugh and feel and love love!
This sweet Christmas story is the perfect incentive to get you into the festive mood as you read about this wonderful little town all decorated for Christmas. Caitlyn returns home to the Sugarberry Inn for her best friend's wedding which will be held just a few days before Christmas. She hasn't been home in 10 years since she graduated high school when her boyfriend, Logan, broke her heart. She is praying she won't see him during this trip.
However, Fate has other plans. Well, Fate and a Will. They have both been left some property that was very instrumental in forming their teenage years, as well as being very important to the town. Caitlyn has to put in 100 hours at the property which is a lot of time to be spent with Logan during her two week stay and wedding duties. Time she can't afford when she can't trust her heart or body around that man and his cursed chin dimple!
I loved the memories they shared, the history they had. Their love appeared deep and true. However I didn't think he was totally blameless in what severed their relationship. I was a bit mad at him. I didn't have the gift of time like Caitlyn did.
But it has been 10 years and I love a 2nd Chance Romance and this one was so good, I mean with the Strip Hide and Seek and The Tent, I was laughing and then swooning. So perfect! I did love Anna, and his parents, actually everyone except Jeannine and Liz. And the Just One More Chapter, oh, my ovaries melted! Then the extra edition -Wedding!!! Thank you Jessa! This book was all that and more!
This wasn’t your typical second chance holiday romance, that’s for sure! Logan appears to have moved on from breaking Caitlyn’s heart so many years ago, but he’s really just been waiting for the chance to win back his first and only love. He just has to trick her, guilt her, and convince her to give him another shot.
I really liked this story. It left me feeling like Christmas needs to hurry up and get here, or at least the official season needs to! Logan was so very cocky at times, but it seemed to be his best play to get Caitlyn to even consider sticking around beyond her vacation. And when she came face to face with the one thing she avoided for a decade, my heart cracked at her pain. But we didn’t get lost in any drama here and the story was truly a second chance at love and hope and a life together. It helped that Logan apparently never once hid the woman of his dreams and past from his present reason for breathing, so that was an unexpected twist to take away some of the sting I first felt for Caitlyn.
As usual, this author delivered the unexpected in such an original way that I couldn’t help but love it. I really hope she brings us more from the other characters of this town because I’m sure I’d love their stories also.
I loved this sweet/hot Christmas read so much! Logan and Caitlyn have a history, a high school sweetheart then heartbreak history. They never got over each other and thanks to a wedding and a will these two have a chance at their forever. The characters are awesome! Logan was so sweet. His love for Caitlyn jumps off the page. Caitlyn needs to warm up to Logan again and when she does, it's on! There was not one character that was unlikable, except maybe Liz. The writing is wonderful! I could picture the decorations and smell the balsam. This definitely put me in the mood to decorate and enjoy the holidays! Thank you Jessa York for a wonderful heartwarming holiday read!
I received this as an ARC for my honest opinion. Leave a small town and never want to return because of a supposedly broken heart. Ten years later return to said town for a friend's wedding to find out that the heart never moved on. The feels on this story was brilliant. I love how Logan kept trying to get Caitlyn to remember all their times together and how he made her fall in love with him again and not want to leave town again but to stay and have her happy ending. Such a beautiful ending and just makes you hope she gets the girls that she wants.
Christmas at the Sugarberry Inn is a cute second chance romance. Which is my absolute favorite kind of romance. :) A lovely story with a Holiday HEA. 🎄
5 stars!!! This book is a straight up Christmas celebration delivered via Kindle!!! 🎁 I'm talking you can smell the hot chocolate, hear the carolers serenading you on the front porch, and can no longer fight the urge to pull out those festive, holiday decorations from the attic!!
I thought Jessa did a wonderful job with this story, and it totes put me in the holiday mood. It didn’t feel rushed, AND she also managed not to give us a bunch of extra fluff and filler that detracts from the love story. It had such a great pace and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!
The mission is simple...get through this wedding without running into the past she left behind. Namely, the boy who has now become the one man who will know how to push all of her buttons; Logan Wainwright. Sounds simple enough, or at least it should have been. If only it weren't for his "boy-next-door-turned-naughty-neighbor-grin", and the way he rocked a pair of jeans. Oh, let's not forget the way this confident, sexy thief stole her heart.
Loggie and Kitten, excuse me...I get carried away lol, Logan and Caitlyn made me absolutely giddy with Christmas glee!! They were the perfect balance of sexy and romantic in this small town second chance romance that delivered heavily on the feels. Caitlyn Winters was right to be wary of Logan, as there was no way for any breathing woman to resist the persistence of that man, especially when said man knows everything about you, and has been waiting 10 years for the opportunity to make you permanently melt for him. No need to worry ladies, and no need to gird your loins either, you are totally safe! Logan Wainwright makes it abundantly clear where his heart's desire is aimed, and he goes after what he wants with gusto...and...hint hint...incredible talent!! 🔥 Caitlyn is one lucky woman!😘
Aside from all of the insane, undeniable passion that exists between our smokin' hot hero and Caitlyn, there was a genuine romance that dripped from the pages of this story. Due to the shared history of our h & H and the heartbreak that separated them ten years prior, we explored some real depth of emotion in this storyline. Even though there were moments that made my heart ache for Caitlyn, I so admired her huge heart and her reaction when presented with that pain. I loved that she could see past the hurt and see the beauty in what transpired. Caitlyn was a terrific heroine with an enormous capacity to love, to make the most of any situation, and her spontaneous streak plastered huge smiles across my face page after page! She and Logan get up to some real shenanigans in this story, and provided some exceptional laugh out loud reading material. 🤣 The story was light-hearted most of the time, and made for a very easy, and enjoyable read.
One of the aspects to this particular story that appealed to me so greatly, was the remarkable portrayal of the small town and those affiliated with the Sugarberry Inn. I literally FELT like I was walking among the characters in this town. There are some truly wonderful secondary characters in this book!! 💕 It was so amazing to see how invested they were in seeing Logan and Caitlyn reconcile and start the life together that they were always meant to have. I loved that! Logan's parents were awesome in my opinion. 👏
Perhaps the best surprise of this book, came with the ending....OMGGG that BONUS. IT WAS EPIC and way more than I thought we were getting. I'm SO excited for the direction this series is headed and can't wait to dive into more from these characters. Hopefully, we'll also revisit with Caitlyn and Logan on the way!! 🙏
This is a great holiday romance and one that I highly recommend if you're ready to embrace that loving feeling!
A Holiday Homecoming (Christmas at the Sugarberry Inn #1) by Jessa York is a small-town, contemporary, second chance, holiday romance. It's told in first person entirely from the perspective of the female main character, Caitlyn.
Caitlyn hasn't been back to her small hometown in ten years, but she can't avoid it anymore when her best friend invites her to be the maid of honor in her wedding. She also won't be able to avoid her highschool sweetheart - the only man she ever loved and the one who broke her heart so badly that she's never gotten over it.
Logan never stopped loving Caitlyn, and he's been waiting ten years for her to return so that he can fight for a second chance. He can't change the mistakes of the past, but he's determined to win her back so they can have a future together. Now that she's back, he's not willing to let her go. Can Caitlyn let go of the past? And can Logan persuade her to stay in town? Read the book to find out.
I loved Caitlyn and Logan's love story. It was heartfelt, romantic, sexy, and full of so much humor. It has the feel of a cozy Hallmark movie with some added steamy scenes. It's a great holiday read - perfect for this time of year when you just want to curl up with a blanket and escape for a few hours into a story that will make your heart feel warm and happy.
Caitlyn is returning home after a decade of being away for her best friend’s wedding🎩 She really wants to be there for the wedding but is fearful she will run into Logan, the man who broke her heart a decade ago😢
This story was absolutely precious and I loved it❣️The story reveals little snippets of what happened between the couple in the past and some of their antics which are well known in their small town but also you can feel the community love between everyone and how everyone looks out for each other😍
I also had a few wonderful laugh out loud moments as the chemistry and mischief between this couple was top notch😊 I received an advanced copy and I willingly leave my honest review❤️
This is a very sweet and funny second chance romance. Caitlyn and Logan are full of chemistry. They where high school sweethearts who broke up when they went off to college. Logan was heartbroken and moved on for a very short time but the fact that he was able to move on at all broke Caitlyns heart. When she goes back to their home town for her best friends wedding the two begin to spend time together. It doesn’t take long for Logan to work his magic to show Caitlyn how good they where and still are together. You will spend a good portion of this book just laughing at their antics.
I absolutely loved Caitlyn and Logan! It was such a fun Christmas story and an absolute must read.
Caitlyn returns home for her best friends wedding, she hasn't been home for 10 years. Of course the person she has been avoiding for the past 10 years is one of the first people she bumps into!
Logan isn't about to let Caitlyn run away this time! He loves her, the town loves her, he just needs to convince her that she belongs here!
Normally when I read something completely new it takes me a bit to warm to characters. I instantly loved everyone!
The Ultimate Second Chance – Light Holiday Story!!
Caitlyn has avoided her hometown for the past decade. But that broken heart is in the past and she is not going to miss her best friend’s wedding. Logan messed up, and knows this may be his last chance to win Caitlyn back. He is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Actually, the whole town is hoping for a reconciliation. Family, friends and holidays all conspire for a happy ending here.
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
This is a first love, second chance story that takes place over the holidays. It definitely fits the formula for a great Hallmark movie!
Caitlyn returns to her hometown after ten years and just wants to attend her best friends Christmas wedding, avoid her ex Logan and get back to her "happy" life in the city. Logan has other plans for her and had waited a long time to convince her she is the love of his life. They had so much fun together and ended up in many crazy situations.
Such a cute story! Caitlyn Is back in her hometown for a friend’s wedding. Of course she almost immediately runs into her ex, Logan.. her high school sweetheart, her first love, her biggest heartbreak. Logan never got over her and isn’t planning on letting her get away this time. This is a perfect holiday romance.. Christmas spirit, love, and HEA’s - just what 2020 needs! Laughter, tears and all the feels... plus... four words... Strip Hide And Seek... I mean, you have to read it now!
This was such a sweet story of old sweethearts who drifted apart and reunite for a friend’s wedding in town. Things had ended on a sad note for them many years ago and she was not keen on spending time with him. It seems the whole town had a different idea. Lots of situations happened that brought them together and their friends and family rooted for them. In the end they got their HEA.
A second chance romance that was sweet, touching, well-crafted, with small-town cheer, the holidays, and some steamy moments. Logan and Caitlyn belong together and he was going to make sure this time he didn't let her go. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I'm usually not a fan of novellas... They are usually so short that I can't form s bond with the characters.... Jessa York had me feeling like I was part of this town and I had known them all my life! I love a good second chance romance.... And this one is awesome!!! And I love the holiday spirit of the small town! I could have spent so much more time with Caitlyn and Logan! Loved them!!!
A very sugary sweet with a touch of spice quick read. Caitlyn has avoided Logan for a decade. Logan’s done her wrong (but never owns up to it). low angst.
4.5 instead of 5 because I wish it were longer! Adorable story with loveable characters; reads like a Hallmark movie. My first (but certainly not my last) Jessa York book.
This was a fun cute 2nd chance Christmas love story!! Childhood sweethearts Caitlyn & Logan thought they were forever than a mishap happened but 10 years later Caitlyn comes home for a wedding can she let her heart forgive the man that broke her? Loved this sweet story!!
Whoever said you can’t go home again didn’t have to go home for one of her best friends weddings. Sure Caitlyn was hesitant to go home and face the boy she left behind when she went to college. Logan still lived there and she hoped she could get through the things she had to do and leave with her heart intact.
Logan knows he broke her heart ten years ago but she’s the only woman he has ever loved. Her coming home for the wedding and to help with the house they co-owned was the perfect time to get her back in his life forever.
I love a Christmas book, they make me smile and prepare me for the wonderful Christmas season. This book was the perfect one to start my season off right!!
Caitlyn and Logan are fire hot. The way he speaks to her and takes care of her was swoon worthy through out the whole book. Caitlyn loves Logan even though they’ve been apart for ten years. Being with him in their spaces doing the same things they did when they were younger pulled down the walls she had built and let her see that their love was still there and strong as it ever was. *I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Perfect timing for reading this one. It really got me into the holiday spirit this year as we all know 2020 has been a journey in itself.
It has been awhile since I have read this authors words but the wait was so worth it. Logan and Caitlyn were amazing to read. These 2 had unresolved feelings for one another that took 10 years to put behind but that was only one sided. Logan has always know Caitlyn was the one, and now she was coming back for her bestfriends wedding. This was his chance to make it right as it should have been all along. Caitlyn has been dreading coming home and seeing her HS sweetheart as he had broken her heart so she left to repair the damage.
This was such a cute read and I can't wait for more from the Sugarberry Inn series. There are so many more stories to be told and read. The Holidays are always a good time to be around family and friends so this one is a great one to read this time of year or when you need a little pick me up.
After having read a handful of the opening chapters via the Author’s Newsletter, I felt like I was settling down with an old favourite when I finally got my hands on a full copy of the novel. I was definitely ready to find out what had caused Caitlyn’s heartbreak bad enough for her to avoid her hometown and Logan – cause of said heartbreak – for 10 long years when it was obvious that these two had chemistry by the bucket load! Turns out there was heartbreak all round, but he was determined to win her over despite the town’s constant interruptions (did someone mention a tent?). A lovely second chance romance set amongst the snow, decorations and preparations for a Christmas Wedding. Read it, laugh out loud and fall in love with these two as they bumble their way to their HEA. NB: I read an ARC copy in exchange for this honest review I was happy to give.
Caitlyn is dreading returning to her hometown, but doesn’t have a choice since her best friend is getting married and she’s the maid of honor. Her focus is on the wedding, spending time with her girlfriends, and staying far away from her ex-boyfriend Logan.
Logan has been waiting for Caitlyn to come back home. Ten years later brings her back to join her best friend’s wedding. Logan knows this is his only chance to get her back. Will taking trips down memory lane reignite their love, or will it cause more pain and heartbreak?
This was an emotional second chance read. When Caitlyn leaves the small town to achieve her dreams of being a lawyer in the city, heartbroken Logan’s mistake has a consequence that causes him to lose Caitlyn for good. Will Caitlyn let Logan fix her broken heart when he’s the one who destroyed it in the first place? This is a great read with all the feels.
A Holiday Homecoming, let me just say that Jesse York never disappoints! Loggie has been waiting for Caity-kins to return for ten years. Now that she’s home for her best friends wedding he’s not letting her go. This is a second chance romance and everyone in town wants Logan and Caitlyn’s happy ending, even his ten year old daughter. I loved the story, the characters, the fun they have playing hide and seek, and waiting to see what Logan would do next. There is also a short sequel called A Holiday Homecoming Wedding that develops more of the characters we meet in this story. I highly recommend it as well. I hope the next book in the series is about Aiden and Maggie!
I received an Advanced Reader’s Copy of the book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion of the book.
Caitlyn and Logan are so easy to love and care about! I loved how you knew they loved each other from the start and they didn’t necessarily fight their attraction. You could feel the history between the two of them, not only the little vet and friendship but also the hurt. I was laughing out loud at the two of them and crying both tears of joy and sadness when Caitlyn would fight with herself. I loved that these characters were just being themselves and stumbling through. This book had the best amount of reality for what we feel with an ex and romantic relief. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a sweet read with a little bit of steam and lovable characters! I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
