A vengeful witch. A controlling prince. Will my life ever be my own?

My life has taken a strange turn since leaving my tower behind. I’ve been reunited with my mother, a mother I never knew till now. And though I mourn my first love, a prince now wants to marry me.

If it weren’t for the witch haunting me, I should be living a fairy tale life.

No matter where I go or who I meet, she’s never far behind. Taunting me, mocking me, reminding me of how weak I once was.

And, honestly? There’s something else. Something about the prince. Is it me? Because I was never taught to trust? I should be happy, but I can’t rest. No matter how many castles we visit, no matter how many fairy tale mysteries I solve, I’m scared I’ve lost myself.

Is this the life I really want? Or have I lost my way?
Will I ever be free of this fear?

Rapunzel’s journey continues, weaving fairy tales and faith together in a lyrical retelling you won’t forget.

This 2nd book in the series has more romance than the first but it continues Rapunzel's journey from the tower to find her own destiny and make her own choices.

The story moves at a good pace and I enjoyed revisiting old characters and meeting new.

The writing can be almost lyrical at times and this was one of the few books I wondered how it would sound being listened to.

This story was more involved. I like how Rapunzel keeps working at being free to choose her own destiny. Appreciate her heart that seeks to help others on her journey. The ending is constructive.

“Rapunzel, what happened last night?”
“Magic.” I stare harder at him. He doesn’t understand and, for now, I don’t feel the need to enlighten him. I look away from him and something in me twists, but I will not bend. He is keeping something from me, even more than when we first met. He is too adept at uncovering secrets and I ask myself again why I don’t trust him. I cannot. I would have nothing left to bargain with and I would be left empty.
