I live a quiet life with my husband and two dogs. All the excitement I need is in my books. And my full name is Lisa Alice Grant. But I couldn't resist using my initials.
This story comes at you fast, leaving little time to breathe or catch details. Emotions happen quickly, events rush forward, and the narrative clips along. I liked it, but not as much as I should have for a King Arthur tale.
“Knight Hunted (The Return of the Queen Book 3)” by L.A. Grant pgs. Kindle may vary 135 (1 Day read if you read fast) Fantasy/Implied Erotica Mature Readers only. Our author is extremely clever and not only makes it a modern-day story using our main character of Arlena Hopesyer but also going back to Camelot and King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. Though there are only four of the twelve knights, these knights are: Percival or now known as Percy, Lancelot or Lance, Galahad or Hayden and Gawain or Wane as well as Merlin who all have chapters in the book as well as two other characters. This helps the reader to connect with each character a little better as well as making the story more enlightened. It was a little slow in parts. Not as fast moving as the other two books.
So, Quen Arlena is on a quest like any other in Camelot where the character would have to save the world of old while at the same time saving the new world order from the evil powers that be. Only things aren’t what they seem. Individuals who are thought to be the enemy aren’t; those who are the enemy are “this and a bag of chips”; magic really is real, both in the real world as well as in Camelot. Through mental, physical, emotional as well as spiritual training Queen Arlena begins to understand the first step always begins with the “heart.” Come beat with the challenges of the old mixed with the modern to help Queen Arlena unit of peoples of truth.
So not sure I wanna read Gwens story or if I even think she's redeemable. Originally when I read the first book I felt sorry for her because her husband was never around and then her lover left her to defend his King and home and died and I was mad at Percy for how he felt but.....
Now I completely understand. She's selfish and only cares of herself. Yes she deserved better but at the end of the day she left her husband and in doing so SHE helped destroy Camelot. She ultimately got her husband and lover killed and now she wants revenge? The absolute audacity of her to believe she deserved anything but to die alone. I honestly wish she never got her own story because she doesn't deserve it at all
The characters are compelling. I hope they are successful in their quest but I will not be reading any more of this series. It's become predictable and sophomoric.
