She doesn’t befriend them. (Though with only three friends, was it any great surprise humans didn’t make the list?)
She doesn’t spend time with them. (Or anyone, if she can help it.)
And she certainly doesn’t have sex with them.
Until she does.
One misanthropic vamp (her) meets one commitment shy human (him) and sex happens. So much sex. But humans and vamps don’t do relationships…do they?
Warning! This book contains steamy vampire-human shenanigans, enough naughty words to make someone (not me) blush, and a vampire who secretly (deep, deep, deep down) longs to be loved.

This was such a good story. I loved it way to much I think. But it had me laughing and crying. I loved Becca so much, I could relate to her in some ways. You have to love the ending and finally getting to hear Simon's part was great. Can't wait to read the next book.
Loved this book. Loved Becs and Simon separately but especially together!!!!! Sweet, funny, romantic!!! I need more as it's not enough of these 2 fantastic characters. Well done, Gemma
First off, I absolutely LOVED the FMC's personality!! I could relate to her so much that I felt this book to my core!! I loved the different take on vampire soulmates, bonding, and feeding. This is a great palate cleanser between big series.

Can a vampire find love with a human? And bond?
Extreme introvert, Becca, has an extremely small acquaintance circle and doesn’t feel worthy of love. Simon just got out of a relationship where he was emotionally hurt and feels insignificant. Both Becca and Simon are similar in the fact that they have a difficult time opening up themselves, their heart, and their circle as a result of their past experiences. They meet at a costume party hosted by a mutual friend. The rest of the book is the pull of their relationship against the push of their pasts keeping them guarded. I was slightly disappointed. This book was great, but the ending was rushed. At 87% of the book, they were still trying to figure out if they were even going to be in a relationship. The final chapter is them finally talking some things out and then there’s an epilogue in Simon’s POV giving a little more. Without spoilers, I just felt like there was a lot for them both to discuss and work out and it needed more than one chapter and an epilogue to do it. I will still recommend this book and am excited for Megan’s chance at love, I just hope we get a more lengthy relationship.
🌶🌶🌶🌶/5 for Spice (There just wasn’t a lot in the book, but what was there was HOT)
Would definitely recommend this book and will give the rest of the series a chance.
Oh my fangs! I love this hilarious book. It's a vampire woman and human man romantic comedy with a fast-paced, slightly angsty, adorably quirky story. There are some things that made me say, "Aww," others that made me laugh out loud, and a couple that got me all choked up. My only complaint is that there are only two books in this series. The World building is so good, but I want to know more.
Becca is the vampire main character who is a self-described misanthrope. She's fully aware that she's prickly and has some baggage. Simon is the human main character who doesn't narrate any chapters except for the epilogue. He has his own emotional luggage, but since he's not a narrator, it seems like he's oblivious to Becca's complicated feelings.
Also, he is a health nut.
Having said that, I want to reach into the book and hug him so hard! This book has a ton of fascinating side characters that I want to know better. Becca's parents, her 3 friends, and maybe that dude Robert...
Hardly any typos. I'm excited to see what happens in book two.
Becca doesn't like being around people. Most everyone irritates her and oh yeah, she's a vampire. But her friend talks her into coming to a party where she meets Simon. But Simon isn't looking for a relationship since he just got out of one where he wasn't treated well. But they like each other and he doesn't irritate her, so much so that she doesn't mind being around him.
They end up getting together and she tells him she's a vampire to get his permission to bite him, thinking that she can just wipe his memory of the bite afterwards but that doesn't go as planned and she doesn't know why.
They end up having a lot in common and she finds herself falling for him but she doesn't think he wants her back the way she wants him. Of course there has to be a little miscommunication in order for them to finally talk and things to work out.
As soon as I read the synopsis, I had to read this book, it sounded hilarious and fun. I absolutely loved Becca and Megan, their friendship was the best and did I mention they are vampires. I can totally relate to Becca and her personality it’s so similar to mine which made me love her even more.
Now as for Simon, I really get for the guy, but he did mess up big time and I wished that Becca had given a hard time.
I loved the book, but it did have a few parts that slowed the progress of the book so I did end up skipping some pages.
I absolutely loved the Bonus Epilogue featuring our couple a year later.
This is the first story I've read by this author and I'm sooo glad that I did 😃. I laughed, I got misty eyed and I kept reading until I finished this book cuz I just couldn't put it down 😍. Thanks so much Gemma, I truly enjoyed reading this story and look forward to reading more 🤓.
This romance between introverted vampire Becca and health conscious human Simon is funny, heart warming, and romantic. I love a happy ending, even though s9me characters have difficulty getting there.
Introvert Becca meets Simon at a party and it's an instant connection. Only problem is that She is a vampire hoping for another vampire to love and be true mates with.Fate has other ideas for the couple
I loved this book so much! While a fairly quick read, it doesn’t feel forced or like too much was thrown in at once. The banter between Becca & Simon and Becca’s inner monologue was absolutely fantastic. I LOVE good banter and sharp remarks and this book is full of that! It’s also a really cute but relatable and real story. I love that the miscommunication trope is barely there and even then it’s resolved quickly. I’m sad that the next book in the series doesn’t focus on Becca and Simon but am still interested in learning more about Becca’s bestie. I also absolutely loved how tongue in cheek the author was with this book. I mean making the vampire a paranormal romance writer and giving her all the authors worst traits? (Focusing on a deadline so much she forgets to eat, solving her characters problems and not her own etc) GENIUS and hilarious.
