It was written and researched well but it felt like it was only scratching the surface and left me feeling like I wanted a more in depth exploration of the ideas covered.
This book is probably more meaningful for a particular group of women - more educated and affluent.

Not too much that I haven't read in magazine and online articles. Some interviews are interesting but most of the advice was pretty basic.

Some interesting stuff in here along with some interesting interviews. However, I have some nitpicking to do. It really bothers me when the implication is made that early to mid-forties women are no longer "youthful" or are already well on their way to a downward spiral of old age and invisibility. If we (women) want to change the culture of what "old" is, we need to quit making the assertions that woman in their 40s are already over-the-hill - which unfortunately is what this book implies. Also, it bothers me when a book about empowerment of women and, basically, that age is just a number, several of the women interviewed did not reveal their age -- are they ashamed of being over 40/50/60??? I thought that was the whole point of these kinds of books -- that women shouldn't be afraid of (and their worth isn't determined by) a number.

I saw this book in Book Pages and since I'm definitely a mature woman in her 60s, I thought this book might have something inspiring for me. It's pretty standard fair- nothing new or profound, but it does cover all aspects of women as we age- career, family, health, loss, spirituality, travel, fashion, and more. It has interviews with mostly people from the fashion world and drawings of famous women who span 40- 70s. It was fine....hoping for some new insights or inspiring interviews/essays but mostly standard platitudes about aging. Some positive reminders about how to make our later years meaningful.

LOVED this beautiful book. Its illustrations are gorgeous and its interviews with experts cover everything from health to style, finance to careers, romance to friendships. Easy to read, practical, insightful, and fun–like a tell-all brunch with your smartest, most candid girlfriends (at a stylish restaurant).
