Chloe is a hometown girl from Tennessee who loves a great short romance, drinking coffee most of the day, and hanging out with family. When she's not writing, she can be found playing the piano or surfing Facebook! Having been a reader all her life, she's hoping that you'll find yourself lost to time, laughing and falling in love all over again with her books.
Kayla and Lukas were both dedicated to their careers. When they had to cooperate in order to change Lukas’ negative image, a connection formed between them and feelings started to blossom.
I liked the author’s writing, the story and characters’ development were very great and had depth, and the characters were wonderful.
Their journey was beautiful despite their struggles, with a beautiful hea!
Loved this read from C. Morgan. Lukas and Kayla grew up in the same poor neighborhood but as they grew older, their paths went in different directions. Lukas became a self-made billionaire that is not well liked in the community. Kayla runs a non-profit organization that is in the need of help. Thanks to his sister and her friend, they get to work together. The chemistry between them was really good. While working together, Lukas is able to remember who he was before and not who he has become. This is the guy that Kayla remembers and always had a crush on. Loved watching them find their way to each other and to love. Great read and can’t wait to read more from this author.
This book is really hard to read. It has way too much description. After the heroine spent the morning in a soup kitchen, which we were reminded of at each turn, she gets a phone call and .... steps out the emergency exit that leads to the parking lot that is behind the soup kitchen... I know this may sound nit-picky, but imagine this type of unnecessary wording in each sentence because it's there.
Another description of the hero's assistant says... Her lips were pursed thoughtfully, and her eyes were slightly narrowed behind her dark-framed glasses, and she held red-painted fingernail to her dimpled chin... WHAT... Unless his assistant is the heroine, and she's not, there is no need for such description. And even then... Could not finish this. at. all.....
Billionaire meets Philanthropist will it break them or make them?
Lucas a self made billionaire in the Tech world knows what it’s like to live in poverty. He’s stood in line with his mom at the soup kitchen waiting for his food. He knows what it’s like to sleep hungry. But not any longer. As a child, building his own computer from discarded pieces, learning how to write code has paid off. He can’t slow down now. He can never return to those days so he buries himself in work. He can’t fail his mom now, knowing she depends on him to help her out. But his reputation isn’t quite what it should be. So his sister Lisa, also his PR rep decides to “humanize” him by giving back. Not just by writing a check but putting in his time. So Lisa brings a childhood friend, Kayla to a meeting to make this happen.
Kayla, Director of Good Fellow’s, offers help and assistance to all sorts of people in need. It’s how she started her life and she’s doing everything in her power to help. Lisa her BFF forever asks her to help her making Lucas human. Find something she’s working on where he can get his hands dirty and remember where he came from.
As Kayla and Lucas start working together, a fire starts to burn. Cans they fan the flame or because of their statue in life distinguish the flames. As time passes they realize they’re falling fast and hard. Can they do this? You’ll want to read “Looking Real Good” to find out.
I have received a complimentary, advanced copy. This is my unsolicited review.
Lukas, 30, is a tech billionaire who works hard but his half-sister PR person tells him that he needs to change his image with hands- on charity work. His half-sister’s best friend Kayla had been raised in the same poor neighborhood as Lukas and his half-sister and Kayla now headed fund raising for a free lunch program for kids. Kayla had a crush on Lukas when they were kids and they now are spenging a lot of time together dealing with her charities. However, Lukas is also dealing with taking care of his mother who suffers from degenerative brain issues and dementia following an accident several years ago and often doesn’t even recognize him or thinks he is his father. As Lukas and Kayla start to grow closer Kayla is worried about how her best friend will feel about Kayla dating her brother so she hesitates to get too involved. Will Kayla and Lukas finally give in to their feelings and begin a relationship? Will her best friend accept that Kayla and Lukas are good together?
I enjoyed this well written story with old friends reconnecting and give it 4.5 stars. The author provided a great descriptive background for Kayla, Lukas, and his half-sister. They all grew up poor and Kayla has been working to help others that are now growing up poor. Lukas was close to his mother and her thinking that he is the father that he hated tears him apart. Lukas realized how Kayla changed him for the better and I loved the fantastic epilogue to this story.
A heartwarming tale about thirty year old, Lukas, a Tech billionaire and his half sister's best friend, Kayla, a non-profit organisation director. Both of them grew up poor in the same neighbourhood and hung out together when they were children and they meet up again many years later when they help each other out with the intervention of Lukas's sister, Lisa. He donates money and improves his image and Kayla's non profit, Good Fellows can continue doing their charity work. They are forced to work together and initially Lukas acts as really arrogant, selfish and entitled but as the story progresses and we get to know him better, he is a hurt individual who has had to work extremely hard, had to deal with bullying and is kindhearted. Kayla is likeable but she could be so unaware sometimes. Their attraction to each other and mutual childhood background draw them closer together very quickly and I really enjoyed the progression of their relationship. I found Lisa to be shallow and unforgiving and I thought she was the least likeable of the main trio of characters. I thought that some parts of the storyline especially about Tech billionaires specifically being targeted as villains as being a bit unbelievable but this is fiction and it was a good read. I rate this book 4.25*.
Such a beautiful and moving story about old childhood friends who grew up to live two very different lives, one becomes a lonely angry billionaire who cares only about himself and his family, the other is still as poor as she was growing up but is happy and gives of herself daily to help those less fortunate. Both are workaholics and live very lonely lives but are experiencing life in two very different ways. After the media portrays Lukas in a bad light his PR sister decides he needs to get involved with charities and giving back. This is where Katie an old childhood friend and owner of a company that finds charities that need help and ways of getting help to them, comes in to steer Lukas in the right direction. At first Lukas is not receptive but over time reconnecting with Katie and helping in charitable ways begins to help Lukas in ways he never thought possible. Katie and Lukas also begin to form a bond and a love that is beautiful and heartwarming, plus all the steamy times don't hurt either. This is such a wonderful read and also pulls on the heartstrings! I love a story that also makes you want to make changes in yourself as well and this book did that for me.
Very good book and easy to read. I liked the flow of the book and felt it was very entertaining but here’s the reasons why I didn’t give it 5 stars.
1- I could have done without Lisa. Never have read or met someone so self centered and so obsessed with her brothers life. That girl needed to take a look at herself in a mirror. 2- I am on a board of a homeless shelter where I have volunteered hundreds of hours of my time as well as served lunch on thanksgiving so this next part is coming from experience. Every single person donates differently if it’s time or if it’s money, but you need both to run a successful nonprofit. With that being said I did not like how this book portrayed people who just donate money. Without the money being raised at galas there no need for volunteers. If you can’t feed the people in the soup kitchen or keep the lights on than you don’t have a non profile. So my point is everyone gives back to the community differently and shouldn’t be looked down upon due to them just cutting a check. Yes I know this is a book but parts of it really pissed me off.
With that being said I would recommend.

This was a beautiful feel-good romance, perfect for the lead up to the start of the winter holiday season. Lukas has an image problem. His sister, his head of PR, has identified the perfect solution to make him appear more warm and fuzzy to the public. Enter her childhood best friend and the not-for-profit foundation she runs. I had so much fun watching Lukas and Kayla get to know one another again. Their chemistry is evident in all their interactions. I felt so sad for Lukas and the way he isolates himself. I was glad that Kayla could pull him out of those habits. His sister drove me a little mental. She comes across as spoiled and self-absorbed, but I think there’s more to that story than we get here. A follow-up book, perhaps? In any case, Lukas and Kayla stole my heart with his transformation from Grinch to social crusader. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Lukas and Kayla grew up in the same low income projects as kids. Being hungry was never something Lukas wanted to face again. He was married to his work. Making millions upon millions, more money than he would ever need... Kayla also married to her work, but not to help others who are in a position of needing help, she started an organization to do just this. So when Lukas's sister/pr manager says he needs to improve his image, she sets him up to work with Kayla, helping the community. Lukas finds himself, the one Kayla remembers as kids, and together they find love, happiness and joy. I highly recommend this author.
I received this book free from the author and freely give my honest review
Looking Real Good by C.Morgan is a beautiful, fast paced, interesting, captivating, steamy with a roller coaster rides of emotion. a romance story of Lukas and Kayla..Lukas is a grumpy self made Billionaire, workaholic and he doesnt have time for romance. What a sensationally captivating new romance from C. Morgan. Lukas is an arrogant wealthy tech billionaire who always gets what he wants and workaholic who has forgotten what it means to have fun. Kayla is a charity director struggling to keep her own business afloat and dreams of one day having a family. The struggles they each face and how they grow individually and together from those trials was so moving and heartwarming. The story line was fantastic and the characters were very well written. Looking Real Good is filled with heartache, passion, romance, forbidden love story, friendship, family, and love. A must read that readers will fall in love with. “I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this novel.”
The book was ok. I liked Lukas and Kayla. Her crush came true. Their relationship started off with a quick kiss and then Lukas could not hide the way he felt about Kayla. Loved how he was there for his mom and made sure she was taken care of. His sister was too dramatic. I think she had forgotten where she came from and was a little to uppity now. I think Kayla should have called her out on the comment she made about her neighborhood where she still lived. They grew up in the same neighborhood and all of a sudden you are too good to visit. That was very disrespectful. Glad Lukas opened up and started living again.
Yes! Loved, loved and triple loved this book. Kayla, a good and sweet samaritan and happens to own her own charitable organization is roped into walking back into the life of grumpy billionaire and childhood friend Lukas to work on his image. First couple of meetings don't start out too good due to Lukas' attitude and behavior. Kayla tries to bring back Lukas into remembering his roots by doing all kinds of charity events. Then of course there's the romance aspect between the two. It's not exactly smooth sailing because Kayla's bff is the sister of Lukas. Read the book. My only wish was this book was longer- as in waaaay longer. I wouldn't mind at all..
This book brings us Lukas, a tech billionaire who has no time to date, always working. Kayla is Lukas' half sister's best friend. Lukas' sister thinks he needs to change his image, and thinks that Kayla would be the perfect person to change that image. However, the more time they spend together, Lukas finds it harder and harder to stay away from Kayla. What will happen when his sister finds out about the two of them? This is a great read and I highly recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.
This is the story of Lukas, Lisa and Kayla. They grew up in the same poor neighborhood, In 3 different apartment with 3 different mothers. Lisa and Kayla best friends, Lisa and Lukas half siblings. Lukas worked all the way out to be a billionaire and brought his half sister Lisa to be his PR person. Kayla is a big fish in a little pond in the same neighborhood Doing charity work. Lisa connects Lukas and Kayla together to change his image and the story takes off. I loved this book. Easy read. Standalone HEA
Lukas and Kayla are the definition of opposite attracts. He is a self made billionaire, with no time for romance and has an image problem. With the help of his sister's friend Kayla, who is kind, sweet, nice and as had a crush on him since childhood. What comes next is a roller coaster ride of emotional upheaval proportion that is guaranteed to make you swoon and enjoy their HEA moment! I volunteered to review this story.
I really loved Lukas and Kayla together. They grew up as friends and neighbors in a rundown neighborhood that turned them who they were as adults. Both driven, totally focused on nothing more than their careers. Him, a CEO billionaire. Her, the director of a nonprofit.
They got thrown together again after Lukas’ sister demanded he rehab his image. It was inevitable they’d get together - and his sister would flip out. And then come around so they could have their happily ever after.
This story was well written and the characters were fun and well developed. I really enjoyed this story.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review
Lukas and Kayla. Lukas, A self made billionaire, once bullied when he was younger and poor. Kayla grew up next door, her organization helps others who are poor. This book was written well. I really liked, Lukas, Kayla, and his sister and his mom. The other characters do play a part in the story as well. The plot has some twists. It touches on bullies, giving of one self, emotions, drama, passion, love, and money.
A simple premise of good PR turning into a romantic reinventing. Overall, it was a good story. The epilogue created a complete HEA with awesome plans for the future. However, I felt that the book was long-winded. Many parts could have been shortened and still had the same feelings/effects. I felt like I was pulling myself through it until about 67%, then it easily flowed to the end. This version goes all the way to 100%!
I just can’t continue with this book. Made it about half way through, most of the characters are sweet but annoying. Especially the sister. I just felt like I was being preached at from the first page about social issues. The descriptions were overly complicated and frequently unnecessary. A lot of it just felt like a rehash from the previous chapter. I have nothing against charitable work and help out where I can but felt like the author was trying to cram their philosophy down my throat.
C. Morgan does a fantastic job with Looking Real Good. I loved reading Lukas and Kayla’s story. It’s well written, intriguing storyline with characters that get under your skin. This was a great roller coaster ride filled with lots of emotions and drama. Would I recommend it: Yes
I received a free copy of this book via the Parker Arc Team and I am voluntarily leaving my review💋
Lukas was a poor, bullied kid that is now a self made billionaire that has lost sight of what truly matters in a world. His sisters best friend Kayla grew up with him is sad that he has lost his way and as a philanthropist helps him better his reputation by community volunteering. Cute storyline with HEA.
LOOKING REAL GOOD By Chloe Morgan This is another addictive story by this new author. I could not put it down and read long into the night. Lukas and Kayla have known each other since childhood, after a long time they are reacquainted and sparks are starting to fly. This is a sweet story that is very well written and is a must read. This is 5 stars.
Sooo I would give this 2.5 to 3 stars. It's a sweet story, with sweet characters
The book was a little generic for me. It was safe. I personally prefer books with more dialogue between the characters the book was more along the narrative
Can't say there is anything wrong about it but for me, nothing to write home about.
We have cold rich billionaire who has his heart melted by sweet childhood friend who is BFFs with his sister. BFF is a non-profit saint, but they still get freaky quite often. Their first kiss didn't exactly work for me and there was a surprising amount of social commentary for this being smutty but it was decent.
Kayla and Lukas are amazing characters with a childhood history and great chemistry. You will love how she softens his heart and reminds him to give help to those less fortunate and to open his heart for a real relationship. This story kept me entertained and hopeful.
Oh, give me a good story about finding the better parts of yourself with another, and I am in!! Kayla and Lukas grew up in the same neighborhood together, and now that they are grown sparks are flying!!! Trying to keep it professional is a hard thing to do when you love each other. Beautifully written and engaging, I want to read more by this author!
Another good read by this author. A self made billionaire learning that his reputation is hurting him in ways he never thought and thanks to his sister, she is pointing him in the right direction to soften his image just a bit. Enjoyable characters with a good storyline.
