This is by far more superior than book one—what a difference in the writing and Italian grammar. I mean, book one was good, but this is phenomenal. I don’t even mind that one of the leading characters' names is Luca( it’s an overused Italian man's name ) Perfezione.

Books two starts shortly after book one ended. And buckle up; it's fast-paced and action-packed. We now have Luca, Max, and Nico’s POV. I love all three, but still, Luca is my favorite. I love the dark, broody, and crazy. He is my kind of Italian.

Someone is out to kill Charity but who? I had a feeling, but I still wasn't prepared for the series of events. Charity is still the sassy psychopath killer we have known to love. Now add on The FBI and supportive judgemental parents; how much can she take? Let me tell you, she handled it like a true badass she is. All three men are protective of her, but her stubbornness is getting in their way. I was taking bets if Luca and Charity would kill each other.

I loved this book; it's everything an Italian mafia book should be. Italians are about family, respect, loyalty, and God help those who cross them; it's brutal. I have to add I laughed so hard about some of the Italian innuendos. Some are true in real life. The book ends on a cliffhanger, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

"She was made for this-made for us."

If you thought that Ann-Marie Davis couldn't do much to improve on Charity's Torment, well, you were wrong. She gave us more feels, more hot sexy time scenes, and wrapped up some mysteries while setting us up for what I can only imagine is going to be a wild ride for book three. I went back and forth between my heart feeling all squishy and having to fan myself off with my kindle!

Even though Charity is one badass chick, she is on the defense in this book. Someone is trying to take her out of the mafia game permanently. Not only that but the FBI has set their sights on her. Charity will need all the men who love her to back her up if she wants to come out unscathed. She's managed to create a family within her organization that will be there for her no matter what, even more so than her real family (who let me say, is pretty shitty). I'm not sure if I want to punch her dad or her mom in the face more. See Charity has even inspired MY loyalty!

One of my favorite things that Ann-Marie Davis added to this book was the POV of the guys! It's everything I didn't know I needed. That added SO MUCH to the story for me. I loved seeing their true feelings for charity from their own perspectives and how they all adore and need her in different ways.

"As soon as he lifted his order, we swooped in and laid claim to her at breakneck speeds."

I cannot wait to see how this story wraps up in book three. I'll be re-reading both books one and two before the next one comes out for sure. Also, if you haven't already, don't forget to check out His Obsession. Besides it being an AMAZING standalone, the characters pop in to say Hi for a hot second. I highly recommend this book to you dark romance lovers out there.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I received this book as a free ARC for my honest opinion and review.

I love your kind of crazy

The continuation of the mafia romance with some gripping story, Charity, the enforcer, is still searching for her brother, but now she is coming under heavy scrutiny from family and the FBI. This story unfolds in combination of suspense, drama, heat, and Charity's special kind of crazy.

A bit of plot summary / recap to smooth the storyline from book 1 to book 2 would have better immersed the reader into this suspenseful triller. Book two showcased characters' relationships after setting the stage in book one. There was also strong character development portraying the personalities of the heroes and supporting characters even while the thriller plot ensued. I wasn't completely convinced on the stepbrother storyline though.

Steam was good, still a little reticent especially for relations with a strong heroine, almost described in a chaste manner. Love scenes were also untraditional for a reverse harem romance, with independent relations between the love interests. I liked this aspect. I fell in love with Luca -- alpha, dominant, spirited, and given to bouts of spontaneous Italian. The other heroes also noteworthy and complementary in personality to their collective relationship.

An enjoyable mafia romance -- suspense, great pace and balance of descriptiveness. I am looking forward to book three.

Well, well, well? All I can say is, Author Ann-Marie, has become one of my new favorite author.

Her second book in the series is being released on the 1st of March.

If you've read the first book called ‘Charity’s Torment’...you will love this one.

I adored the fact...that, her writing gets better and better, that the built-up in this story is fantastic, not to mention, the sneaky-twist, you will never see it coming, or will you?

It’s naughty, laughable, kinky, and at the same time the men need a good ass-swiping, and you can feel her agonizing sadness.

You can see the consequences of her mistakes-but it isn’t a story if she was a goodie-too-shoes...there’s no weakness to a point, but I like that, she does show a little bit of her vulnerability’s in this book.

I'd like to say, ‘Loud and Proud’ I called it...her brother was fishy after all; I’m not going ruin it for anyone...but, that’s where the twist comes in to play, also, I feel like theirs so much more at play here, book three will be amazing.

Let the count down begin.

WOW! I am so glad I discovered Anne-Marie Davis, I am absolutely loving her books! Protecting Charity picks up right where book one left off and does.not.slow.down. One thing I love about this book (and the previous one) is the pacing- not too fast where we don't get any character development, but fast enough to keep us turning the pages. Charity is such an awesome character. Yes she's a bad-ass, but she's also vulnerable- she loves fiercely and this love and need to protect those she cares about drives a lot of her actions.

We get a lot more steam in this book as Charity strengthens her bonds with the guys and she and Lucy FINALLY give into one another. In addition to amazing characters and steam, Anne-Marie also gives us non-stop action, intrigue, and a shocking twist that I did not see coming.

If you love mafia romance, RH, or just love a strong FMC, read this series! Proecting Charity is out on March 1! If you haven't yet read the first book, start with Chairty's Torment which is on KU. 5 stars for Chairty and Ann-Marie! Can't wait for the next book.

“𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨 𝐜’𝐞` 𝐥𝐚 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐚, 𝐜’𝐞` 𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐨.”

𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐘𝐌𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐎𝐅𝐆𝐎𝐃 the suspense, drama & danger had my heart in my friggin mouth. My emotions were thrown in a million directions in the second installment of the Morena Mafia Series.

Charity is one ballsy heroine but my heart broke into pieces within the journey. I screamed, i ached & laughed through. For me the Mafia Men shone through and protected her with passion, lust & every inch of their soul.

The 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐌. 𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍. 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐒𝐓. 𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒 is unfriggindeniable...coreee is it HOT in here🥵🔥 Embracing each of the men and their traits is HOT AF! *please excuse me whilst i cool down*

"𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐭 𝐦𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐈'𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝."

Every chapter caterpaulted me into a new twisted dark universe and yet the raw emotion you feel is unlike anything i have experienced.

The ending of this book had me breathless, i have no know what happens in book three. Ann-Maroe writes with raw emotion which is captured perfectly!

"𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐮𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐢𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠.”

So friggin HYPED for book three!!

Protecting Charity ● Moreno Mafia Book 2
*ARC Review*
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
@authoramdavis

This is the 2nd installment of Charity's story & it did not disappoint! While she continues the search for her brother, Charity discovers someone is out to kill her. Even though I didn't think it was possible, her three sexy Italian men got even hotter when they went into protective mode.

Just as with the last book, this one is fast-paced, action-packed, and sexy as hell 🔥 However, this one hit me straight through the heart as well 💔 Love @authoramdavis 's writing style. I couldn't read fast enough & she left me wanting book 3, like yesterday!

Who was the first arc reader to devour this book? ME 🤓🤓🤓 did I message Ann-Marie and yell again? Yes, I did. 😂

I just love this series, so damn much. CHARITY IS A KICK ASS BITCH! She’s just everything, ugh! You have to read it to get it but if you love fierce females with good hearts, she’s your girl.

Now, my men errr I mean Charity’s men, I didn’t think I could love them more but I do. Their love is all consuming but not controlling, she belongs to them all separately. She holds all their hearts. They each give her something she needs to survive and I love it.

I want book 3!

What a sequel! This one keeps going pretty much straight from the first book and we get right down to business.

Someone is after Charity but can her men look after her?! There is a lot going on in this book but gosh it's good.

I love being able to see parts of the book from all Luca, Nico and Max's point of view. I can't wait to see where we go from here.

Protecting Charity is the second book in this Moreno Mafia series, so if you haven’t read Charity’s Torment I would encourage you to do so!

We pick up with Charity where we left her in the first book. Our three Moreno men are back and we are given more insight into their thoughts through multiple POVs. I loved that we got to know Nico, Luca and Max better through their own perspectives. Ann Marie continued to keep them very distinct from one another in terms of characterisation which made the book super easy to read!

I did struggle picking up and running with the story after a break between the first novel and this one. It took me a minute to get my grounding again. Some scene setting/ briefly going back over the end of the last book and where we left our characters would have been great. I find Ann Marie’s writing super addictive so if you read Charity’s Torment and Protecting Charity back to back you won’t have this issue.

Some of the sentence structure stumped me a little “as far as my theory with Luca, the results were inconclusive, yet, but the results were coming out in my favour” but didn’t result in any discrepancy in the plot.

Charity’s character continues to shine through in this book. She remains her ass kicking, take no crap self. Whenever her POVs came up I was so excited. She is so fun to read. If you are after a spicy read – this will knock your dang socks off.

I love that we built on the Charity we got to know in book one. I love her relationship with the Moreno men. It’s unlike a lot of other romances I read and I love that she is unapologetically herself.

(I was provided a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed are entirely my own).

SO to begin my review I am going to share with you pieces of my Dialogue on IG. I cant start this any other way.

"Excuse me but didn't I explain how bad I am with cliff hangers? Why must insist on leaving me with the biggest freaking hanger possible in this book. Please tell me it wont take to long for book 3. You are trying to send me to an early grave. This is not ok. Send help, I think my heart is literally going to stop any freaking moment!"

Also me- "I literally get to the last page and didn't realize it was the last page so I threw my kindle when I couldn't go any farther!!! I can not even handle this non ending. There was no warning or any inclination it was at the end. Just a wham bam thank you ma'am now you must wait until I choose to finish you off."

Holy Moley what a read! What a series. Now for the meat of my review.

When I tell you or suggest to you hold on- I really mean it. This story takes you on one heck of a mind twisting ride. The progression is superb and be prepared because just as it gets heated up and going Ann Marie will cool you down. but only momentarily until she launches you into another atmosphere of epic mind blowing proportion. The dynamics between the characters in this second book are crazy good and the twists she throws your way are both feel good and also painstakingly sad. When I say you need to be prepared I am not saying this lightly. Please know that you will be forced to hang tight until book three but I can guarantee it will be worth it in the end.

I was so lucky to have received an advanced copy of this book and I'm so glad I did because I cannot stop recommending it to all of my family and friend to GO OUT AND BUY THIS SERIES! This is the second installment of the Moreno Family Mafia series.

Charitys Torment (The first book of the series) had me engaged and committed to this mafia family and their characters. Now with Protecting Charity, I dont want this series to end!

The Protecting Charity had everything the first book had and more! there was love, lust, passion (lots of it 😍), crime, and mystery. Ann-Marie Davis has an amazing way of grasping the readers undivided attention.

This book was so hard to put down and so hard to finish, I didn't want it to end! I kept swiping on my kindle to get to the next page realizing i couldn't swipe anymore!

The author has a way to create build up of the characters and the plot while throwing in twists chapter after chapter!

I will admit, I was never one to read dark romance, but I am so glad I started with Ann-Marie Davis' books, it has got me completely hooked! The end will leave you with a WTF! moment, and in a good way!

Book #2 by Ann Marie Davis is fantastic! I want to start by saying Reverse Harmen books are not normally on my TBR shelf. So, if you are like me, you need to deviate from your normal line up and pick up this series! The way Ann Marie Davis weaves her story is amazing. She is building an intricate maze through which the character must travel in order to be whole. The moments with each Monreno are poignant and amazing. This book has STEAM, lots of drama and great character development. There is so much more given to us about each one of the guys, that you can't put it down. This mafia based series definitely shows the reader how the upper echelon works.

I knocked this book out in a sitting b/c it is that good. Charity's chase to find her brother and save the missing girl is a priority. However, other forces pop up and she gets sidelined. This book will keep you involved and trying to figure out how things will turn out for Charity! Definitely give it a 5 star rating and recommend you dive in with book #1.

If you thought Charity’s Torment by Ann-Marie Davis was thrilling and seductive, you must read its sequel, Protecting Charity! You won’t want to put the book down in fear you’ll miss something!

Charity has a special relationship with the Moreno’s. They respect each other and live to protect one another. Charity has one too many close calls with death and the Moreno’s try to take matters into their own hands by keeping closer tabs on Charity.

But will all their safeguards work? Will they be able to save Charity from death? Will they also need to save her from herself?

In many ways, Charity’s temper reminds me of me. Even though I am not violent nor surrounded by handsome Italian men, I feel like Charity has valid reasons for her anger. She just releases it all differently than I ever would.

This book took me in a mafia adventure I feel like I was a part of. The Moreno’s became my family, too. If I ever need protection, I pray I have protection like Charity! It doesn’t seem she realizes what she has right before her eyes.

A digital ARC of Protecting Charity by Ann-Marie wa a provided complimentary through BookBub. I give this book 5 out of 5 tiaras because I was completely engaged in this story and I cannot wait to read BJ what happens next!

This is the 2nd book in the Moreno Mafia series and it picked up right where Charity's Torment ended. Not only did the heat turn up in this book but the intrigue did as well. Charity continues to look for her brother Josh while trying to figure out who is trying to kill her. As Charity investigates new obstacles pop up, including unforeseen consequences of some of her previous actions. Charity learns a lot about herself and how her actions have trickle-down effects.

If I had to pick a theme for this book I would say it is balance. Charity walks a fine line in her life. She is trying to keep her career as well as her love interests hidden from her family. Can this balancing act last forever? Will her father see past the facade? What else is going on under the surface? With every answer, more questions come up.

I just want to add that I am so happy that Luca finally followed up with some action if you know what I mean.

Protecting Charity is an amazing book!! I would give it 10 stars if I could! Ann-Marie Davis leveled up in this second book of this Moreno Mafia trilogy. Charity has quickly become one of my all time favorite MC's with her kick A** attitude, her pure heart, her take no prisoners attitude and her vulnerability. I love the three Moreno men and I loved that we got to see things from their point of view through out the story. There is non stop action in this book as Charity is the target of someone trying to kill her and her three men trying to protect her from everything that is thrown their way. The character development is fantastic and the action, heat and dialogue is so well balanced. And did I mention heat?! You have to read it to experience Charity and Luca. This book gave me all the feels from laughing, crying to utter horror! There's a big twist at the end that will leave you aching for book three.

Loved it!

This is the second book in the Moreno Mafia by Ann-Marie Davis. It follows on nicely from the first book but, as well as Charity, this one also includes chapters from the POV of the three Moreno men. Brilliant idea from Ann-Marie to do this!

The writing style is very easy to read; just enough descriptives to help the reader build a good picture while not overdoing it to allow the reader’s own imagination to take over. The story is fast paced enough to keep you turning the pages and jam packed with action, emotion and sex! The character development is well written and leads us to a fantastic ending.

As with the first book, the dialogue seems really authentic and believable. I enjoyed seeing more into Charity’s mind and getting to know why she cares about her family so much.

Definitely recommend this series. Loved it!

I absolutely loved this book for all the right reasons. It started straight off from the first one so you do have to read that first but the pacing of the book and the action continues throughout this book.

The sexual tension between Charity and the Moreno boys is through the roof and there are some pretty steamy scenes however the boys also show their caring, soft side for charity throughout the book. Their relationships grow in the book and you get to continue to see their feelings for each other.

There were some pretty tense scenes in the action which had me unable to put the book down and the end has made me super excited for the next book.

I definitely recommend this book for those who are fans of reverse harem and mafia books.

A perfect book with all the feels

I was a bit hesitant to read book 2 of this series since I have been having bad luck with the second books in series lately... boy am I ever glad I did.

I started page one, expecting the other shoe to drop, and I found myself laughing, and then crying as I turned the page as fast as I could, hoping to get one more minute, one more hour out of the book. I truly believe that this book is even better than the first... and that ending had all the feels.

Comments:

No m/m... no hint of it developing
Character development galore
A world to get lost in
Semi-cliffhanger.... but nothing bad.

When I read Charity's Torment I was impressed by a new to me author and her writing style along with these characters she's created. Reading Protecting Charity I am secure in the knowledge that I just found a new favorite author!! Beautiful writing keeps you captivated as you read these wonderful words that she somehow put together to bring us these fascinating characters to life. Charity is one of a kind and her men are definitely able to keep up with her, but can they trust her to do her thing? Relationships are all about learning how letting someone be themselves while also being with you, loving and protecting you are not always synonymous with each other. Adoring this sentiment that is woven throughout the book, I can't wait to see how Charity deals with her overprotective Alpha males!! Truly a fascinating and compelling read, you definitely want to buy this book right now!! Nico, Luca and Max are already members of my harem and I'm quite in love with them all!!

Plot: 4/5 • Smut: 2.5/5 ————-> Still trying to find her brother she gains a few friends and a few enemies. While doing so her relationships with the three guys begins to expand. Her character never falters though. She’s still the tough as nails enforcer she’s always been.

She finds her brother at an event she’s @ with Luca and he smashes her head in and takes her in the trunk of his car. While handcuffed he admits her trying to repent his sins and he needs to kill her. He’s been brainwashed by some religious cult.

The ending to this one is sad, but she has her found family surrounding her. Doesn’t end on a cliffy but more of a threat. If you wanted to end here you could, but i’ll continue.

Fantastic book!
This kicks off after the last book in this series, it’s so well written you honestly fall into the story. I didn’t put this book down until the very last word - the twists and suspense had me on the edge of my chair. I could never had guessed any of those twists!
I just love Charity, she is a strong kick ass chick with her 3 hot AF guys. If you’ve read book one you would know how volatile Charity’s life has become, well everything seems to go to sh#t at first in this book but I know after that cliff hanger ending the next book I expect to see Charity in REVENGE mode - can’t wait!

Ann-Marie Davis does it again in this second installment of The Moreno Mafia books. This time, the feisty Charity is getting closer to finding her brother; however, more complications continue to arise, including a cocky FBI agent determined to figure her out. While she remains strong and steadfast, her personal issues begin to wear on her. Add to that, her developing relationships with Luca, Max and Nico. Bring on the steam and sexy! As the story progresses, so do the twists and turns- and some things you never saw coming! Hold on tight for this piece of Charity’s story- you’ll be left begging for the next one! Highly recommend!

This book like the first packs a punch. As the storyline sucks you in fast and deep, then spits you out at the end hanging off a slight cliff.
We get to see Charity grow closer to Luca, Max and Nico in this book. With someone trying to kill Charity the guys can't help but protect her and love her. When one very dark twist takes us to the ending, we get to learn a few things that had left you wondering what was happening.
This book also reads from Charity and each guys pov, which gives the book and you as a reader more into the feelings and the story as it unfolds. Such a great book I would totally recommend

After the last books cliffhanger, I couldn't wait to hop into the next book. I can't believe I'm saying it, but it keeps getting better and better!

The three amazingly hot Moreno's from the first book are even MORE hot in this book. I love how protective they are over her. They each bring something different to the table. It's a great dynamic.

This book is action packed, full of twists, and 🍆🍆 scenes. I seriously cannot wait for the third installment!

I received an advanced copy of this book, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Just give me a minute to compose myself!! There was me thinking this story couldn’t get any hotter! Boy was i wrong.. you need to read book 1 Charity’s Torment before you read this as its a follow on from that one and believe me it doesn’t slow down.
The twists and turns keep you wanting more and forever questioning what will come next! And these Moreno men 🥵🥵 they are hotter and more intense and hit all those feeling in you that you want from a mafia romance!
I for one can not wait for book 3 infact I’m begging for it asap 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Wth was that? Charity is one bad a** that has 3 strong men loving her deeply. She faces hard choices and her protecting her brother will only end up with heartache. She finally admits that she loves her 3 guys and at the end she will show the world her association with them. I can’t wait to read the next book. Will Charity get her happy ever after or will all the pieces come crumbling down?

Love this series! Can’t get enough of Charity and the men who protect her. No spoilers here but if you’re looking for a strong female protagonist and steamy interactions, look no further! I also like that we are getting more information about the Moreno relationship(s) that was missing in book 1. More backstory would be intriguing.
